It was a perfect 2nd book in the series.

So many quotes I adored.

But honestly Shannon fuck you I was crying for most of the day, my emotions were constantly all over the place. Giggly, sad, anxiety , happy (all of the above at once)

She is one of the baddest fmcs I have ever read, and I am here for it! She’s what a true queen should be - smart, compassionate, methodical, strong and fair! I love her body confidence it’s truly inspiring, and my god…. Does she keep surprising you the more you get to know her? She handles everything life throws at her with such grace - you can’t help but love and support her!

After reading book 1, you best believe I was DESPERATE to get my hands on book 2! I didn’t think book 1 could be topped but.. Shannon did not disappoint! I couldn’t put book 2 down!! From page 1 Shannon’s writing had me hooked, the way she writes will grip you and pull you in, she builds the characters so well that you feel like you really know them & you cannot help but get obsessed with them!

‘She who holds my wrath’ honestly took me on a bigger rollercoaster of emotions than ‘He who holds my soul’ did… which again I didn’t think would be possible! All without missing a single bit of filth along the way (and ya girl loves some filth) it was ticking every box for me… I met some of book 1’s characters better, I had my heart broken numerous times, then I was healed some more… no-one is safe in this series! It has plot twists I wasn’t expecting, loyalty, betrayal and relationships you could only imagine surfacing. There was laughter, tears, shock, excitement! Shannon captured it all.. while still building up the storyline & the scenery beautifully.. so you really capture everything! She never misses a beat - now I’m desperate for book 3, as I still have questions!! 100% recommend this series!!

This book honestly, I can’t get over it! The wit and banter, the relationships, the friendships, the drama - it has it all, and it’s all written so perfectly! I surprised myself but discovering myself LOVING a character I didn’t expect to love, book 2 was his time to shine and he’s certainly giving my guys Aran and Ezra a run for their money for the top spot - without giving spoilers away, obviously 😜

You can tell that Shannon writes with true care and compassion, you can feel it from her dedication all the way through to her acknowledgments… you feel safe even when you’re unsure what is about to unravel through her stories, she honestly handles herself with so much grace and you are never short of a reply if you comment, review or post anything about her books, even when I finished ‘She Who Holds My Wrath’ and messaged her at 1.30am, you best believe she was there replying… she’s one in a million. I was never really a fantasy girlie… until Shannons dark romantasy trilogy came along… now I find myself enjoying them more and more, but still I’m yet to find one I prefer more!

wow. just wow… i think shannon has just broken my heart in so many pieces with this book. book 1 was amazing and i related to the character so so much but this one i genuinely felt everything 10x more because i have become to love and care for these characters especially aran and velentha and i’m just speechless right now. them two are genuinely on my list of all time favorites characters now :’)!

i feel like the writing is even better in this one like i genuinely felt so many conflicting emotions during it , i felt mad for certain characters i felt sad for others , but i also grew to love some characters more than i did , the growth characters like lucifer and maelkar had in this book was so so good and i just adore them.

all the plot twists were so wonderful and that ending !?!? i just desperately want more and more of this world and these characters but can we please wrap some of them up in bubble wrap and keep them safe please :’) i’m scared for what’s next at the same time !

This was a very good book 2 and it added so much to the story! I will definitely say that Daisy is so much better of a person than me bc of if I was losing loved ones left and right I would have burned hell to the ground. I do wish that overall it would have been a little darker but I enjoyed it. I’m definitely excited to see where this ends up going with the things (and people 👀) that are unraveling

This series is shaping up to be one of my favourites and I will not stop recommending it. Book 1 let me on such a cliffhanger that I was feral for book 2 from the get go and it did not disappoint!
Daisy enters her villain era and I’m here for it. The writing sucks you and and you feel the grief, sorrow and anguish to your core with Daisy. The character development Daisy goes through is insane and the introduction of new characters kept me engaged, not that I needed much encouragement tbh. We get to delve deeper into characters that we met in book 1 and explore their stories a little more which was amazing.
But let me tell you this book has emotional damage dialed UP!! It ripped my heart out, stamped on it, put it back in my chest to rip it out all over again. And I bloomin loved every minute of it.
Will I be continuing with the series? Hell yes I will! Without a doubt!

First of all, I want to say how incredibly lucky I feel to have received this beautiful ARC. After reading the first book, which was absolutely amazing, I was beyond excited to get into the second one and She Who Holds My Wrath exceeded every expectation I had. It was brilliant, breathtaking, and everything I hoped it would be and so much more

Oh my goodness... where do I even begin?

She Who Holds My Wrath is beautiful, devastating, emotional, and filled with so much grief, revenge, heartache, hope, and so much love. Shannon has created a story that completely consumed me.

I loved everything about this story. The characters, the emotions, the journey... every single piece came together so beautifully.

Watching Daisy navigate her grief was absolutely heartbreaking. At the beginning of the story, she wasn't coping, and you could feel the weight of everything she had lost. But watching her slowly rise, reclaim her strength, and become the queen she was always meant to be was one of my favourite parts of the book. Her growth was inspiring, emotional, and so rewarding to witness.

And then...Korithax

Shannon... what are you doing to me?! You broke my heart, put it back together, broke it again, and somehow made me love every second of it. The emotional journey this book takes you on is unlike anything I've experienced in a long time.

One of my favourite things about reading is being completely surprised. I love those moments where you have to stop and think, What on earth just happened? I love when a book completely catches me off guard, and Shannon delivered that feeling over and over again throughout this entire story.

I was saying things like, "How can you do this?","Why are you doing this to me?", "Why is this person here?",
"Why isn't this person here?", "How is this even going to work?" Every twist, every reveal, I genuinely went through every emotion possible while reading this book and I loved every single second of it.

sweetheart, and every scene with him made me smile.
I absolutely love how this book picks up immediately after the cliffhanger from the first book. There is no waiting around, you are thrown straight back into the story, and I was obsessed with that. It grips you from the very first page and refuses to let go.

How are you going to end it like that?!

You hurt me with the ending of the first book, and then you came back and did it to me again. Twice. My poor heart can't take it.

Your writing is absolutely stunning. You have created something so powerful, emotional, and unforgettable, and I already know I will read absolutely everything you write. I'll happily be first in line every single time because if this is what your stories do to me, then sign me up for the emotional damage.

I don't know if I finished this book or if IT finished ME😭

After the emotional devastation that was HWHMS, I foolishly thought I was prepared for its sequel... alas, I was not. This book had me giggling, screaming, kicking my feet and sobbing. Shan managed to make me laugh one minute and emotionally destroy me the next and I loved every second of it.

I can't get over Daisy's character ARC in Book 2. After everything she's endured we watch her step into a new version of herself. She becomes colder and calculated, transforming herself into a real queen and weapon capable of facing what's to come. She continues to be unbelievably strong, despite falling apart behind closed doors. What I loved the most was that her strength never made her grief disappear, we get to see exactly what war and loss can do to someone who was once pure-hearted, and how those experiences shape and mould her into something Daisy herself doesn't recognise anymore. The emotional consequences were never just brushed aside or written in for the sake of making the reader sad, every single loss holds WEIGHT and you feel it continuously.

I loved the multiple POV's, getting to experience these worlds through more than two perspectives added so much depth to all aspects of the story. We got to explore surrounding relationships rather than just one central romance like other books which I LOVED. The world-building was just as immersive as the first book, everything continues to feel so vivid and emotional and imaginative.

Honestly, one of my favourite parts of Shannon's writing is how organically the humour fits into the story. Nothing felt like it was desperately TRYING to be funny, the characters just genuinely made me laugh, which made the emotional whiplash of each scene hit even harder.

She Who Holds My Wrath is somehow darker, spicier and more emotional than its prequel while still maintaining its humour, romance and fantasy aspects that made me fall in love with this series originally. It broke my heart repeatedly, and I'd do it all over again.

I'm now off to stare into the middle-distance until Book 3 comes into existence.

She Who Holds My Wrath is the second book in The Fire & Silence Trilogy by the talented Shannon V. Velzen who is becoming one of my favourite indie authors to date! It is a dark fantasy romance that explores emotional and psychological transformations and explores a rich blend of core themes which include:

If you have already read He Who Holds My Soul, the first book in this series thinking it couldn’t get any more emotional or confusing, then think again, it doesn’t get easier for our FMC Daisy, I hate cliffhangers and suspenseful endings building up hype for the next book purely down to being an impatient arsehole, but at the same time I wouldn’t change being an ARC reader for her (I think lol). I might have to reconsider when she moves in a different direction and into a series lol.

This book had me tearful throughout the whole book and even breaking down into ugly tears more often that I’d like to admit. It didn’t leave my heart completely shattered like the cliffhanger in the first book, but it left me wanting more with the questions still lingering in the air and the endless possibilities of what might come. I don’t know whether she’s one of my favourites I want to cherish and hold for her creative and inspirational writing, or whether she’s one of my favourites I’d like to slap with a flipflop for constantly leaving me in suspense lol. If you don’t like a cliffhanger or suspenseful ending making you want to rip your heart out with your bare hands, I’d suggest holding out but at the same time, you’re missing out.

This book for me is hands down a 5-star read, one I’d happily go back and re-read. It wasn’t purely focused on spice and smut which I’d normally gravitate to, but I found I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would. But S**T the bed when it appeared it dominated, but blended in with the storyline seamlessly, I’d say from my previous reads it would be about a 3 but that’s because I’m a smut slut when it comes to literature lol.

Well. This book had me it utter tears the majority of it! Oh my god it’s like Shannon took my heart and pulled it out, stitched it back in only to pull it back out again…. I loved it!!!

It was amazing! The world Shannon has built is so full, beautiful, magical and devastating I hate being torn away from it!

This is book 2 so it follows off from where book 1 rightfully stomped on our hearts. The grief in the first part of the book just resonated with me so much, loosing someone you love is so hard. It was navigated so well in the book. Just because things were moving along didn’t mean the grief was forgotten.

I loved the way Daisy dug deep and become something new. After what she’s been through you can’t expect someone to be the same. During the betrayal you see her blossom and as sad as it made me, I loved it!

Lucifer and Maelkar made me laugh everytime they were on the page with their humor 🤣 those two I want to know more about!!!! Mini novella on those two?😉

I adore that we get to see Ezra more in this book too! I love how he’s getting his only little story!

Not to spoil much but wowwww those twists were amazing I loved it and KNEW IT 🥹😉 or atleast I had very high hopes on one of them 🤣🤣

I’m SO intrigued to know about more of the history and the other worlds! I’m dying to know who is really who and what 🤣

Some little sneaky bits in there showing an even bigger picture of betrayal which I hope we get to find out more about in book 3!

That ending and epilogue, I absolutely did not guess that, I’m gobsmacked and well confused! 🤣 which means I shall be sat here begging for book 3 to come asap 🥹

I truly love this series and I hope if your reading this you pick it up too 🥹

One word speechless, wow this book surpassed book 1, book 1 was a good start to the series with the character building and development. How book 1 ended I was scared to see how book 2 would go because 😬👀let’s just say I stared at a wall and wanted to go back a few chapters and finish there to stop what had happened.

Anyway going into book 2 Shannon said you think that was the tip of the iceberg let’s ramp this b**ch up 😬did I want to put my kindle in the freezer to freeze time through the book yes yes I did. Did I cry and curse Shannon for the rollercoaster of emotions I felt yes yes I did. This book was amazing it had me on the edge of my seat I couldn’t get enough, from when I thought things was gonna settle down and I was gonna have a fun old time with daisy 😬yeah I was slapped in the face with another twist.

What I loved was the different pov chapters 👀😬the different perspectives of what happened in this book, I’m not ashamed to say I read it in one sitting even through all the tears and rage I felt throughout for the characters I still think about this book and will go back in again to re read both of these books.

This book series is god tier and is so worth the hype, am I scared to see how this book series evolves yes but the craft of Shannon’s writing makes you push through all the emotions you feel because each chapter is just so addictive.

I can’t wait for everyone to experience the reading experience I had.

Some characters became favourites, despite their flaws in the first book and I’m honestly not mad about it.

Each character has a story to tell and i honestly cannot wait to find out more in the next this series had stolen my heart, all whilst dying to watch Queen Daisy continues to flourish as the sunshine Queen.

The spice is perfect, the trauma is heartbreaking and the story continues to grow perfectly with each instalment.

I’m not a huge fantasy reader but this is my go to series. These characters feel real, the emotions are raw, it’s as almost like you are part of the story because they feel so real.
This is just a huge credit to how Shannon has written these books, I’m immensely grateful and proud of her passion and dedication.

The perfect second book.

I loved this just as much as the first book, and honestly, I think it did exactly what a second book in a trilogy should do. It built on everything established in book one, developed the characters and relationships even further, and somehow made me even more invested in this world.

The biggest standout for me was the exploration of grief. It’s such a strong theme throughout this book, and I thought it was handled beautifully. There were moments that genuinely hurt, and I think that’s a testament to how emotionally invested I’ve become in these characters.

And Daisy! I loved her so much more in this book. She is truly entering her QUEEN ERA and I am absolutely here for it.

But my absolute highlight has to be Daisy, Melkoar and Lucifer. I literally LOVE this trio. Every single time they were together, I was invested. Their dynamic is everything, and I genuinely wanted more of them in every chapter.

The only reason this wasn’t a 5⭐️ for me is that I was hoping for a little more action surrounding the war and the Divine Six. After how things were left with the Six at the end of book one, I was expecting a bit more involvement from them in this book, so I did find myself wanting more on that side of the story. However I guess book 3 is going to be dedicated to the war! I need book 3 NOW!

I loved this so much! I adored book one but book two kept giving!! I am completely here for Daisy and how she has grown as a character! She is not taking anything laying down any longer!
Her journey has not been easy and with still one book to go I cannot wait to see the badass she becomes!

This book has me howling with laughter because the banter and wit was up there! The MCs served hard and I ate it up!
I won't lie there are moments that also tugged the heartstrings and clearly no one is safe in this series! So grab the tissues!

I cannot get over how many hilarious nicknames one character gives his Queen and he definitely is sitting in top spot with my bestie Ezra! 🫶

When there is a fight for power, betrayal is expected however all I will say is after seeing how one betrayal worked out ...anyone else thinking of crossing Daisy better watch out because this woman is definitely going to be ticking names off a list...

We are thrown straight back into Hell and experiencing Daisy become Queen and mourning the loss of her husband and best friend.. becoming widowed Queen wasn’t her plan but she takes it in her stride and is an absolute badass!

The relationship that grows between Daisy and Maelkar is so beautiful and powerful and of course full of sass and cheeky flirting.

I absolutely loved the multiple POVs that were included in this story and there were too many times I messaged Shannon with my WTF and HOW COULD YOU moments - and sharing my tearful selfies.

I’m not one to spoil things, but get your tissues cos you are in for a wild ride with this book and I’m so jealous of everyone that gets to read it for the first time.

My goodness what I follow up! Firstly, I've got to thank Shannon for letting me read this arc copy of She Who Holds My Wrath. With the first book, He Who Holds My Soul, it was such fantastic and immersive storg with a fascinating collection of characters and lore, and a gut punch of a twist, though admittedly I had some big questions by the end. Now on this sequel, I found many of those questions answered in wonderfully creative ways and a bunch more questions I need the answers for 5 minutes ago. I fell in love with the characters in book 1, but this second book I felt so immersed these characters became real for me. I grieved with them, raged for them, etc. I loved that we get more character pov's in this one, I think it really helps to make the story feel all the more alive. 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ I can't not stress this enough. I need my hands on the third book! Also there was spice I'd give it a 4.5 🌶 as there was definitely more than a few open door scenes, but not so much that it detracted from the plot. OH and get ready to sob. Box of tissues necessary with this one for sure. I came away from this story thinking one thing, All Hail Sunshine Queen Daisy, LONG MAY SHE REIGN!!

Daisy grows so much as a character and we definetly get to see new aspects to her in this book, which i adored.
Her journey has been challenging but definetly got to see the badass side of her!

This book had me going through whiplash with my emotions, laughing one minute because the banter is top tier, the next having my heart ripped out with someone we love being taken from us!!

The additional side characters also develop so much more through this book and definetly have the found family vibe, just don’t get comfortable, no character is safe!

I loved how strong Daisy became in this book yet retained the vulnerability we fell for in book 1. Though watch your back if you think of betraying her!

This book was so hard to read. Not because it’s bad… it’s the opposite. It was so good, I think subconsciously I was trying to drag it out as much as I possible. It also made me so anxious about the impending war.
All the pain and grief packed in this book was so beautifully written. I don’t really cry at books anymore, having lost my father. But Velentha and Aran’s last night together broke me. I was sobbing. It was so devastating I could feel their pain through my Kindle.
In the first book Daisy annoyed me a little, but only because she was so fragile and so impressionable… it got too much after the 3rd “I’m a pathetic human” sentence. But in this book?? Wow… Her character development was truly amazing even though it all came from a dark place.
Also making Lucifer gay???? I’M SAT! Their relationship with Maelkar… gah! I love it.
Also Ezra’s little crush is adorable, I can’t wait to see it develop more.
Finally I’m angry because now I have to wait gods know how long to read the next part… Actually I’m furious…
This was amazing, and can’t recommend it enough!!!

A Sneaky Ending and an Emotional Rollercoaster

This was a bit of an epic read, but honestly, the story needed all those twists and turns to unfold properly. There was so much frustration and anger for Daisy this time around, and this book had me absolutely sobbing.

I did not see that ending coming, and the author did me dirty by not declaring that this was actually going to be a three part story! She’s a scoundrel of epic proportions, and she should be told as much.

There was a small section that I felt went on a little too long, but actually, once you see how everything wrapped up in places towards the end of Book 2, it all made sense. Now I guess we’ll have to wait and see what’s to come in the next book, which apparently hasn’t even been written yet. Shakes head.

Beautifully descriptive, emotionally charged and fabulously written. But I’m giving this 4 stars, purely for the sneaky ending and the complete lack of warning that there was another book to come!

I was so incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to read this book as an ARC as part of Shannon's street team. No spoilers will be happening in this review but WOW.

The writing of this was exceptional, the character development was executed flawlessly I was so incredibly invested with the characters and their journeys I could not put it down. I loved getting to know new characters and exploring their roles within the plot.The book took me on an emotional rollercoaster and had me sobbing, laughing/giggling and talking to myself much to my husband's dismay. For me, this managed to be even better than the first and I already loved that. The world building and description in this book is stunning you can imagine the realms and the characters so impactfully.

I am desperate for the next part of the story! Shannon what an incredible job! Thank you for letting me be a chaos demon on your behalf!

Book 2 absolutely understood the assignment. 😮‍💨🔥

The stakes? Higher.
The magic? Darker.
The emotions? Absolutely unhinged.

Watching Daisy evolve from someone trying to survive into someone who commands the darkness was EVERYTHING. The character growth had me completely hooked, and every chapter felt like it was building towards something massive.

The mix of forbidden magic, ancient horrors, divine beings, revenge, and looming war made this impossible to put down. Every reveal had me gasping, every twist had me questioning everyone, and the ending has left me desperately needing the next book.

What an emotional rollercoaster, how can I go from crying in one sentence to 😏 in the next, seriously a work of art.

There's so many characters that adore, obsess over and some I'm 👀 you a lil sus.

The high stakes, heartbreak, belly laughs and emotional strings pulled is amazing, this really is an incredible book.

It picks up immediately from book 1 and leaves you needing book 3, like seriously book 3 please!

You will go through a rollercoaster with this book, it will give you everything you want and more.

If you want a FMC who is out for revenge whilst also on a healing journey, if you want MMC who takes touch her and 💀 to a whole new level, if you want several morally grey men to lust after, if you want amazingly layered side characters who are also getting their own plots, if you want worlds on the brink of war and not knowing what the hell is going to happen. Then read this damn book

I'll be honest, I knew this book was going to wreck me emotionally after the events of book one left me feeling mentally bruised, but dang! I honestly did not foresee it breaking, and healing, me as much as it did.

Daisy, our beautiful Sunshine Queen, has had to deal with the loss of the sexy, deliciousness that is Korithax and now has to rule Hell without him by her side. Thankfully she's not completely alone, and steps up to her new role with grace and bravery, honestly, she does a far better job than I would have done!

I loved the different POV's throughout the book, so not only do we get to see what Daisy is going through, but also her friends. I don't want to spoil too much, but I'm glad a certain side character from book one is back and being their awesome self again.

If you've read book one, you NEED to read this too! And if you've not read book one, you need to read both of them. But make sure you have tissues to hand, and maybe some bandages for your heart.

Daisy’s villain era has arrived and I am fully on board 😈🖤

Okay so if you read He Who Holds My Soul and fell in love with Daisy then buckle up because she is not the same girl anymore and I mean that as the highest possible compliment. 👀🔥

I will be honest, it took me a little while to fully click into this one. The opening stretch is doing a lot of heavy lifting setting up the war brewing across the realms and the Divine Six and the ancient horrors and there were moments early on where I needed to be patient with it. 😔

And then Daisy’s villain era properly arrived and I was locked in and did not look up. 😭💅

Because this is what I wanted. A girl who once feared the darkness learning to command it instead. Grief reshaping her into something formidable and dangerous and completely willing to sacrifice parts of herself for revenge. That arc is everything and Shannon V. Velzen handles it with real care, it never feels cheap or unearned. 🔥🖤

How far can the sun be pushed before it turns cold? That question sits at the heart of this book and by the end you have your answer and it wrecked me. 💔

I absolutely love this series and book 2 was everything!

This picks up with Daisy left to rule while war is brewing across the realms. With the King of Hell gone, grief is changing her and Daisy has to decide how far she is willing to go and how much of herself she is willing to sacrifice.

You really feel Daisy’s grief in this book and it made her journey even more emotional. She is honestly one of my favourite FMCs and I loved watching her grow even more into her power.

This book had everything I wanted. The friendships, the characters, the emotions, the betrayals and Daisy’s villain era all had me completely hooked.

I also really loved the multiple character POVs. Getting to see more from different characters made me feel even more invested in the story and the world.

And that twist! I did not see it coming at all. Then that cliffhanger? I need book 3 like yesterday 😂

This series has me completely obsessed and I cannot wait to see where it goes next.

I was so, beyond lucky to receive an EARC for ‘She Who Holds My Wrath’ as part of Shannon’s Street Team 🖤.

From the first page, the way Shannon writes, pulls you in. You get to know Characters and their personalities with so much ease, it almost feels lyrical.

‘She Who Holds My Wrath’ took me on an even bigger emotional rollercoaster than ‘He Who Holds My Soul’, and that’s saying something!

I had my heartbroken, I healed, I hoped, and had moments of pure unadulterated shock. All at the hands of Shannon and the incredible way she has put words to paper.

You’ll feel safe, even in those moments you feel unsure of what’s to come next. Everything she has written is done so with so much genuine care and compassion, you’ll fall in love with this World and these Characters.


Dark Fantasy is my kryptonite, and now, without a doubt, so is anything that Shannon writes 🖤.

I got this book as an arc

Woweee I can’t decide if I love or hate Shannon right now tbf! I enjoyed book 1 but book 2 LEVELLED UP! It had my sobbing on more than one occasion, giggly and kicking my feet at others and just straight up gasping at others!

I wasn’t sure on Daisy in book one but in book 2 I absolutely LOVE her, she is the ultimate bad bitch who is taking nothing laying down anymore! I love how realistic it is from her journey from sunshine girl to a more hardened version of herself due to her grief and the reality of war.

I would honestly read this book just for Lucifer and Maelker 😅 I love these 2 sassy queens so much and every time they were in a chapter or it was his POV I instantly knew I would love it and looked forward to it.

I am both excited for book 3 and also don’t know how emotionally well I will be after it 😅

Unbelievably lucky to receive an ARC of this from the author 🖤 Not sure that was the best thing because now I have soooo long to wait for book 3 🤣

Here are some of the many things I loved about this book...
1) The plot progression was fantastic and enjoyed the fact that book 2 was much more plot forward than book 1
2) The character arcs are beautiful, devastating, relatable and heartbreaking
3) I cried!! At some points I cried lots!!
4) There were points I was cheering and punching the air with pride 🤣
