My Baby Daddy's Sister

Rate this book
For six years, Talia Brooks has raised her son, Nasir, while dealing with broken promises, missed pickups, and disappointment from his father, Demarcus. She stopped expecting him to become the man he swears he is and learned how to carry everything on her own.

Then his older sister comes home.

Mika James is everything her younger brother is not. She is responsible, successful, protective, and unwilling to make excuses for Demarcus’s foolishness. When she realizes how often he has failed Talia and Nasir, Mika begins showing up for her nephew in ways his father never has.

Talia does not trust her.

As far as she is concerned, Mika is another member of the James family who disappeared when things got hard. Their conversations turn into arguments, their arguments become loaded with tension, and Talia finds herself noticing far more than Mika’s attitude.

Mika is openly attracted to women. Talia has only ever dated men.

Neither fact stops the chemistry growing between them.

When Demarcus steals money from the wrong man, his problems land directly at Talia’s door. Threats turn into surveillance, property damage, and violence, forcing Talia and Nasir into Mika’s home for protection. Living together makes it harder for Talia to ignore the woman beneath Mika’s controlled exterior and impossible for Mika to pretend she is helping only because of family.

Mika gives Talia something she has never had support without conditions, honesty without excuses, and safety that does not require her to surrender control. Talia gives Mika a reason to stop rescuing everyone who refuses to save themselves and finally fight for something she truly wants.

But loving her baby daddy’s sister comes with consequences.

As Demarcus’s choices place all of them in danger, Mika must decide how far she is willing to go to protect the woman and little boy her brother failed. Talia must decide whether she is ready to trust someone enough to stop carrying everything alone.

Sometimes family is not the person who shares your blood.

Sometimes it is the woman nobody expected you to love.

always enjoy your books.

I would like a little bit more spice. I enjoy the complicated mess. Your characters has real and complex problems but I love how they communicate and choose each other in the most f up situations.
