A marriage of inconvenience where the brooding alpha Rockstar MMC is disinterested/cold at the start and learns the errors of his ways when the FMC leaves him. Now, he’ll do anything to get her back.
Proper yearning, growly protection, groveling done well, a real modern marriage crisis, and a happy ever after.
I went from famous TV actress to broke factory worker on the run from the mob.
Fleeing my cartel minder through a crowded airport, I run and crash straight into a towering wall of pure muscle and ink.
That stranger is Jude Valenti.
Lead singer of Six Sinners, Jude is a brooding rock god with a voice that brings millions to their knees. He’s also ex-military, highly lethal, and terrifying to everyone in his path, including me.
When my pursuer draws a gun, Jude disarms them with effortless brutality. However, the mafia are still after me. To keep me alive, Jude offers me a high-stakes marriage of inconvenience.
Three days later, I have a massive diamond on my finger and a grumpy husband whose icy, dismissive silence leaves me cold. I’m just an obligation to protect, taken for granted while he pines for his ex.
After months of surviving his hot-and-cold temperament, his scorn, and his ultimate betrayal, I break. I pack my bags, drop my ring, and walk out.
That's the exact moment the cold, unyielding rockstar loses his mind.
With his detached walls shattered, Jude realizes his catastrophic mistake. Beneath his harsh exterior lies a savage, obsessive yearning, and now, he’ll tear the world apart to drag me back to his side.
Will I guard my shattered heart and let him burn in the wreckage of his own making, or will his feral, unhinged grovel melt the walls I’ve built to survive him?

I wanted to like this one but there was just too many issues to make it happen. It felt like things were just not very well thought out. The set up didn't make much sense. The woman in the airport trying to force Sofia is threatening her with a gun... in an airport... I'm sure other countries are just as strict but I can definitely tell you that they would not be moving through an airport in the US with a gun as easily as the book made it seem.
There were things thrown in just to hit tropes/likes it seemed. He's a rock star, he's former military, but wait he's also a former bad boy with a record. At one point the whole band has a shoot out in a parking garage but it's never addressed by press or cops. The MMC's step-dad is a cop in another state and apparently that gives him access to all sorts of other departments and information to help out. The OW drama was completely pointless. He is still in love with his ex who he hasn't seen or talked to in years. She's started texting him to meet up and he's still in love with her but not enough to actually reply to her messages yet. Then he says he feels like he's cheating on her when he hooks up with the FMC (who continues to hook up with him after he called her OW name in bed). Then suddenly he's not in love with the OW any more.
There were a lot of inconsistencies in how things were happening. The other thing that drove me crazy and didn't make sense was how he would speak to and about his mom. Sometimes he would call her "Mom" and sometimes he would call her "Maggie". Then if he was thinking about her he almost always thought about her as "Maggie". It was weird and no one internally would think of their mom by her first name.
As I was reading I excused a lot because I thought this book was the author's first but then I found out it is a pen name and the author has other books in a different genre.

1. Needed editing. eg. a. When airport security allowed Sofia and Jude to go, Jude’s viewpoint said, “Gripping Sofia’s hand, I grabbed my guitar and bag…” Jude didn’t know Sofia’s name yet; he didn’t ask her for it until a few pages later. b. When Sofia and Jude got to Maggie’s house, she said, “Let’s get you out of this heat before you melt.” When they went in the house and Maggie took Sofia to her room, all the windows were open. c. When Sofia had a nightmare, and Jude went to her room, he slid into the bed behind her with her back to his chest. Then, the book said, “I rubbed my hands up and down her spine.” Afterward, she was laying on his chest with “her nose pressing right to my pulse point as she snuggled into my nape.” The nape is the BACK of the neck; how could she be laying on his chest snuggled up to the back of his neck? 2. Both the Syndicate and human traffickers were after Sofia; when she started screaming in the middle of the night, Jude stopped to get dressed before he ran to her room? 3. Sofia was alone in the house and someone came to the door and she just opened it? She figured it was safe because the person must have the code to the gate? How stupid is she? 4. I hated Jude calling Sofia “woman”, “babe”, “lovely”, "beautiful" and “gorgeous” all the time. Didn’t he know her name?

I would rate this 3.5 stars. I didn’t love it, but it had some good angst, although it was resolved too quickly and easily. The plot was so implausible. The beginning with the trafficking and the gun in the airport? I mean come on! Also how is Jude an ex con, Australian, and somehow served in the US Military and was deployed? Granted, I don’t know a lot about this sort of thing, but it just sounds far-fetched. He’s only 35…
This book needs heavy editing. Lots of inconsistencies, implausible scenarios, and plot holes. As soap-operaish and unbelievable as it was, it was mostly entertaining. On to the next!
Was expecting way more from this story. Groveling and tension between Jude and Sofia is good, feelings also ok.
BUT the writing?
Many mistakes that could have been fixed with an extra proofreading (names messed up from sidecharacters; everything is "ancient", which it is not - cobbelstones of Paris are max 300 years old...)
And than the weird/unbelievably unrealistic happenings in the plot. Very annoying.
Example number one: bad guys know where Sofia is and Jude and the rest of the band members (all six of them) are carrying weapons to a restaurant where they have fun and also meeting fans? In the underground parking lot there is a shooting, at which point they all get their weapons and are all basically sharpshooters, at once shooting two of the three bad guys' shooting hand? NOPE. And there is nothing mentioned of this ever anywhere in any papers? It seems that in Tenessee rock stars can just shoot at people without any consequences? - Weird.
Example number two: Sofia is still haunted by the Italian mob and goes freely around and alone in Rome for days? Noone even thinks to hire or send security with her??? As it turns out later, the Italian mob is non-existent in Italy by the time they arrive on the tour (some months later)????? At the end both of them are sent (by Jude's mom) to therapy to learn how to react normal to things and not fuck up their relationship by every argument? - Nice.
Hereafter we get a domestic flatlined plot (Sofia remodelling their new farm house) with a not really interesting ending.
Feelings ok, but the story (and my interest with it) died at the end! (A lot of goodwill is included in the 3 stars!)
This is the first book by the author and for a first book this was quite good. The writing was captivating and characters engaging. It a grumpy sunshine, marriage of convenience , betrayal and grovel themes. I liked both Sofia and Jude’s characters they were both likable characters. Sofia is running from mafia and runs into Jude who is an ex military and part of six sinners band . To save Sofia these two end up marrying each other. The story was well written with twists and turns and kept me hooked . These two had to go through ups and downs before they got their well deserved happily ever after. For a new authors first book it was quite good. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.
This is almost really good. I actually thought this was a debut novel, but apparently the author has been writing for a decade under a different pen name. So that makes me feel a bit more justified in being critical.
Overall, the story is pretty decent. The blurb unfortunately covers like 75% of the story. Sofia literally runs into Jude while in the midst of a chaotic and dangerous situation in an airport. She is very close to being trafficked by the mob when Jude steps in and offers her protection. After a few days, they get married so she can have legal protection while the feds go after the organized crime syndicate that’s after her. What starts as a practical matter gradually develops into more, although Jude tries to avoid catching feelings due to his own past trauma. After an inevitable 3rd-act breakup, Jude has to do a lot more than just apologize and confess his feelings; he has to learn to rebuild himself into the kind of man who deserves to be with Sofia.
This all sounds very promising, and a lot of it is well executed, but despite the book’s length, a lot of these plot elements just didn’t feel fully realized to me. For example:
Some non-spoilery critiques: - I felt like the writing when Jude realizes Sofia is gone fell a bit flat. - none of the side characters except Jude’s parents are well developed. Ally and Evangeline are one-dimensional mean girls. The band members all blur together, as do Sofia’s coworkers. You don’t have to develop every side character, but you should develop the ones you want us to care about. To the author’s credit, Angel gets more time on page than the other band members (not that any of it gives us insight into his character beyond that he has terrible taste in women) because his book is next. - there are some discrepancies, contradictions, and editing oversights that aren’t a big deal. What’s harder to miss are the inappropriate italics. Band names, locations, and songs are not italicized. The author puts song titles in both italics *and* quote marks. Any editor should’ve caught that. - the book was about 10% too long, or rather, 10% of the content didn’t need to be in the book. I wish the author had spent that space fleshing out the things I mentioned above. - Jude “rasps” too much. We get it, he has a raspy voice. But the word “rasped” appears over 70 times in the book, which is like 60 too many. Worse: the word “growl” appears over 80 times. You don’t have to keep saying it, or if you do, use a thesaurus.
Okay end criticism. None of these are book killers, but they are signs that either an editor or a better editor is needed here.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I especially enjoyed seeing Sofia’s feelings for Jude grow while at the same time she opened up and began to live her life again I loved the symbolism of the Bonelli eagle (although fyi “Aquila de Bonelli eagle” means “Bonelli eagle eagle”). Jude’s character was interesting; I liked the idea of an older rockstar who’s learned from his wayward youth and is trying to live a better life. His relationship with Sofia felt real and grounded. I liked that both characters I’m interested enough to give the next book in the series a shot as well.
To be fair, I’m not going to leave stats, but I’m pretty sure it’d be 1 based on just three chapters (and I have even finished the third chapter!)
Chapter 1, Jude’s POV was fine. It sets up who all the guys are in the band, and Jude is going back to his hometown for a visit now that the band is done with their tour.
Chapter 2, Sofia’s POV is where it very very quickly and obviously fell apart. She’s obviously being trafficked as the woman (Luisa) Sofia is with suddenly turns on her and reveals she has a gun and if Sofia tried anything Luisa would hurt her. So these two women traveled with false identities from Italy into Canada then took a bus into the U.S. But they still have to get a flight to NYC. Why in the hell would Luisa reveal her nefarious intentions so early? Why not lead Sofia along as she’s been doing until they got to their destination. It makes no sense. Then in the airport Luisa supposedly sees a cop she recognizes who would be able to recognize her. So she hands a credit card to Sofia and orders her to buy them tickets to NYC, and then Luisa runs off to hide. Why wouldn’t she then just get help. Luisa isn’t going to be able to shoot everyone. Though some mob guy named Dario does text her to threaten her cousin or something, but this is all so stupidly unbelievable already. Luisa has a gun in the airport and false identities - how does she intend to get past security? Oh and Luisa was threatening Sofia and telling her they don’t care that she’s famous and lists two of her Italian movies as if that’s something so natural to do in your threatening dialogue. You tell a soul about us, we’ll cut your tongue from your mouth,’ she hissed at me. ‘We won’t care that you are Sofia Antonelli, the once-famous Italian actress in La Tempesta dell’Amore and I Segreti del Mercato. You won’t model, dance, or ever act anymore.’ It truly reads like a bad comedy scene.
So Chapter 3 is Jude’s POV again and he’s noticing Sofia at the ticket counter because the agent is profiling her as poor and a their so Jude intervenes because his spidey senses tell him to, which is when you learn this rockstar was in the military and deployed and able to detect IEDs before they stumbled upon them. Riiiiiiight…… ok so more unbelievable crap but ok. Then he grabs Sofia’s hand after saving her from security and the books states Gripping Sofia’s hand, I grabbed my guitar and bag strap with my free hand and pulled her away from the trouble. Only at this point Jude hasn’t asked her name, and she hasn’t given it so wtf.
It already reads like AI-slop that hasn’t been edited at all. So at that point I went to the reviews and a few kind reviewers let us know that this won’t get better. It’ll continue to have stupid editing errors, a too unbelievable plot and no satisfactory grovel. One reviewer even points out that the mMC is supposedly still in love with his ex while he’s sleeping with Sofia. This just sounds like the worst kind of crappy read that’ll just make the reader annoyed at the writing rather than with the character as an author might intend. But in this case based on just the little I did read I can tell I don’t want to waste my time on 400+ pages when just 30 of them were terrible.
Definitely won’t give this author another look unless they can actually do the writing or use AI in a more productive way.
This was the first book in the author’s Six Sinners series and what a beautiful and melodic book it was. There are themes of grumpy/sunshine, kidnapping, mafia ties, marriage of convenience, grief for parental death, other woman drama, betrayal and grovel, marriage of convenience and emotional damage but it culminated in a hard-won HEA for the two main characters.
Sofia was riding a high as a well known Italian actress but ended up on the run from the mafia and consequently crashing into Jude at the airport. She accepts a marriage of convenience proposal from him in an effort to keep her safe and gradually over time, falls in love with her broody but beautiful husband. When the past comes knocking to put a wedge in their relationship, Sienna walks away with her head held high knowing her worth and refusing to bow down to Jude’s misguided verbal assault.
Jude is ex military, a Rockstar and shining light in his band but inside he is emotionally damaged from an ex and broken in his psyche from his father walking away. He does the right thing with helping out Sofia but is scared of the emotions, thoughts and feelings she evokes in him and ends up in a push-pull relationship with her. When things conspire to damage Sofia’s reputation, Jude lashes out in anger and Sofia walks away. By the time he realise his mistake, she is gone and he faces an uphill battle to surmount in an attempt to pull her back to him.
This was the story of two emotionally damaged people and the twists and turns they faced, the side characters they interacted with and the personal battles they overcame, before their relationship evolved into a heartwarming and uplifting life together. I really enjoyed this creative and engaging book by a talented author and look forward to reading the other band member’s stories in succeeding books. I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of respite this reading has gifted me and thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.
Sophie lost her parents when she was young and has struggled ever since to find steady work. When she accepts what she thinks is a weekend modeling job in the United States, it turns out to be a trafficking setup connected to the Italian mafia.
Because apparently nothing says “career opportunity” quite like organized crime.
She manages to get away from her minder watching her at the airport and runs straight into Jude, lead singer of the Six Sinners, who has just returned home from tour. Jude helps her escape, gets her to the police, and eventually takes her home when it becomes obvious that the usual legal protections are not going to keep her safe.
The solution ends up being a marriage of convenience.
And yes, you can probably guess how well the “convenience only” part goes.
I enjoyed Sophie and Jude together, but the part of the story that worked best for me came later. While Jude is on tour in Europe, he receives some very damaging photos of Sophie and, instead of trusting her, immediately assumes the worst.
That mistake has consequences.
What I appreciated was that the author didn’t let Jude fix everything with one apology and a grand gesture. The rest of the story actually makes him work for Sophie’s forgiveness, while also giving both characters time to deal with the underlying issues that contributed to everything falling apart in the first place.
That made the relationship feel much more satisfying to me. Sophie had reasons for protecting herself, Jude had his own baggage to confront, and neither of them could move forward until they actually dealt with it.
And, most importantly, there was groveling.
A decent amount of it.
This was a quick, enjoyable read with a marriage of convenience, rockstar romance, betrayal, emotional baggage, and an MMC who has to earn his way back after seriously screwing things up.
Sometimes you just need a good groveling palate cleanser before diving back into something darker.
*Rockstar/ex-military *Grumpy/sunshine *FMC on the run *Betrayal & grovel *Angst *Emotional *Marriage of convenience *OW drama
Sofia is on the run from the mafia and stumbles upon Jude at the airport while trying to flee. Jude as an ex-military saves her from the bad guy and one things leads to another and they end up married for her safety. But Jude fights his feelings while Sofia starts falling. And when things start to come along a visit from the past shatters everything and Jude accuses Sofia who then gets away from him. Sofia is a troubled woman with a very difficult childhood but determined to make her life the best as she can while helping others. Despite her many obstacles life threw her, she never gave up and fought instead. Jude is a troubled man with a troubled past. Spent some time in jail, then joined the special forces and then became a rockstar with his buddies. He's an introvert but willing to do what he can in order to help others. I really liked the plot of this story and as a debut novel I believe it's good though there are some points that need to be addressed. The writing wasn't so smooth and felt quite rushed in some points and I believe the reason of it is because there were a lot to be written and couldn't expressed fully or else the novel would be 600 pages. I do believe that the writer has the potentials and her story was good, just need some improvements. I already read the synopsis of the next one and can't wait to read it. I received this arc and this is my honest opinion.
This was the first book in a new series and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
Grumpy MFC Marriage of inconvenience Betrayal and grovel OW drama No cheating HEA
The books starts with the FMC Sofia traveling to the US with someone she thinks is a friend and helping her, only to find out it was set up. She runs into the MMC Jude at the airport and he helps her out by taking her home to his parents with him. As things unfold he decides to offer her a marriage of convenience to keep her safe. While they are married they develop a friendship and over time Sofia falls in love with her husband. Jude develops feelings for Sofia but is conflicted because of his own past trauma and trust issues. They both give into their feelings for each other while Jude’s band is on tour in Italy. Jude confronts Sofia about information he received and rather than believe her, he basically calls her a liar. Sofia decides to leave with her head held high and start over. Jude realizes his mistake and feels regretful for how he treated Sofia. The book draws you in with both the main characters. I was truly rooting for both of them to find happiness and peace. Both Jude and Sofia were kind people who just wanted to find what completes them. Their characters complimented each other well. The book overall was an amazing read and I cannot wait for the next one.
This is more like a 4.5 star. I really enjoyed the story. Sofia is running for her life when she bumps into Jude a famous rockstar. Jude does everything in his power to protect her. They enter a marriage of protection but he never truly opens up. Sofia is a strong character. She comes from trauma, has started her life over, and even after escaping traffickers, she still treats everyone with grace and respect. Jude also has some issues in the past and finds it hard to let go of a past love and to fully trust Sofia. Slowly the walls come down and they begin a true relationship, only for Jude to let his mistrust ruin everything. I loved how wrecked Jude was over what he did. I also love that Sofia didn't cave instantly. Mostly I loved that they both needed to work on themselves before they could truly be together. I'm giving it 4.5 stars because there were some things that held it back from 5. There were small inconsistencies throughout the book. When they first meet she uses his name but then later says he introduces himself. A dress would be black but then green. She told all of Jude's family about her past but then later he and his mom didn't know. Overall just slightly distracting. The main reason I took 1/2 a star was Jude's liberal use of babe. I love a pet name and I love in a story when the MMC calls the FMC the first time because it signals a change in the relationship. Jude used it within minutes of their first meeting and then used it constantly. It had no meaning. That's just a me thing. It didn't take away from the story. I really enjoyed and read it all in one sitting. I'm looking forward to Angel's book.
Wow! Sienna Milan did an amazing job with this first book in what seems to be an interconnected series of standalone about the various members of a band.
The h in this one is so sweet but still with a backbone. She's had a hard time since hitting it big years ago as an Italian soap opera star. Circumstances cause her to run into the H at an airport, literally, and the story unfolds from there.
The H is a broody Rockstar but ex Australian special forces. His feelings are confusing and goes from warm to cold quickly. This leave the h unsure of where they stand, especially since has some trauma from her childhood (loss of parents).
The big betrayal comes later in the book, after the 50% mark and it does hit hard? But it's not cheating so rest assured in case this is a trigger. Don't think there is no OW drama though cause the beginning has some for sure...and some heartbreaking moments for the h that I won't spoil here but they are definitely related to the H confused feelings about his ex.
Bottom line, I loved it and can't wait to read the next one in the series!! Well done Sienna!
This is the first in what will be (according to the author) an interconnected series about the members of the rock band Six Sinners this first book is about Jude and Sofia.
When we first meet Jude and then Sofia we are cast right into their lives where they are at that moment, which for me is something I am not a huge fan of. I always feel like I am missing information or a previous book, but as the story goes on we learn about everything they have both been through.
Sofia and Jude's stories are filled with difficulties and hearthbreak which makes their journy together though at times when they are both dealing with past trauma.
This is a love story at the core of it, but it also has a lot of angst, darker themes and I higly recommend reading the triggers before starting the book.
I loved Jude and Sofias storie, the only reason for the 4 stars is that, like I said, I am not a fan of jumping into a story withouth a prolog and some parts of the story went on a little longer than I thought it should.
All in all I liked it and recommend it if you like stories on the angsty, darker, emotional side.
This is a story of of Jude and Sofia. Sofia was in danger and Jude saved her. They got married to save Sofia. They are perfect for each other. Jude’s wonderful parents his mom Maggi and stepdad Kian could see how perfect they are together but Jude was hung up on his ex and pining for her. Because of close proximity he got chance to learn about real Sophia who was not just stunning but smart caring and classy. Also, his ex showed her true colors and that helped him taking off his rose colored glasses about her. Sofia and Jude were falling in love with each other. but when he trusted blackmailer over her, she couldn’t forgive him. He repented not trusting her when he found the truth. His remorse was genuine. He apologized publicly and groveled. They both individually went to therapy for their past trauma. His final grovel was selfless act of letting her go and that’s when she forgave him.Their happily ever after was well deserved. I really like Sofia and Jude but I also like Maggi, Kian and Jude’s friends. I really love the story.
It is really hard to beleive this is Sienna's first novel, it was brillian.
Sophia is running for her life when she meets Jude. He offers her a marriage of convenience in an effort to keep her safe. Jude is a troubled man that has no intention of admiting that he is troubled, dispite his behaviour Sophia begins to fall for her husband.
When her past comes back Jude does what he does best and that is shut her down and out. Left with ni chocie Sophia walks away head held high. It does not take Jude long to realise that what he has done and the quest to earn his wife back starts.
Sienna has created one of the best set of leads I have read in a long while. Yes I wanted to drop kick Jude but at the same time I loved him and watching him get his head out of his tosh was something else. Sophia was such a darling but make no mistake she knew her worth. The side characters are amazing as well and I cannot wait to see where this series goes.
This is a love story rapped in a trauma and human traffic stories. There are long passages of where there are no progression in neither the love story, the trauma story or the human traffic story. This makes the book boring at times. There are so much potential and to many missed chanses. There are a several things that annoys me. Like a solider, that have been to prison, now rock star becomes indignant when his love interest might or might not have been a stripper. A millionaire marrying a poor woman without checking here background even though his father is a police officer helping him helping her. But that’s not the worst of it ... an Italien calling football soccer … so much lost potential in that discussion. I am not Italien, but I know that calling football soccer is a sacrilege.
Jude tries to much and becomes so little. I do hope that the next in the series are more clear cut.
Even though I did not like Jude, I am actually looking forward to Angel

Australian, special forces, sniper, Rockstars living in Nashville.
One of them saves an Italian woman from trafficking when they bump into each other after she was threatened with a gun...in an airport
He calls his sheriff dad and somehow they have jurisdiction now?
The Italian woman is a former soap star on the run from the mafia and now human traffickers, so sheriff daddy proposes a fake marriage for her safety. And that's after he's already claimed responsibility for her because she's a witness the federal government wants to use to prosecute the traffickers. So yeah, no red flags on that marriage license.
She's allowed to accompany the band back to Italy on a spousal visa. Italy, the country where she's on the run from both the Mafia and Human traffickers, so of course a federal witness would be given a visa to travel back to that safe haven.
A bit of a mess. It needed editing so actions in scenes didn't jump around and cause confusion. It also kept bumping into things that don't make sense in reality. Like guns on an airplane, that is impossible. Or raging about ICE and detainment of migrants when trafficking thrives without threat law enforcement catching the traffickers. So which is it? Trafficking bad and somebody should stop it, or ICE bad and nobody should be in temporary detainment? And Sofia wasn't a migrant, she was trafficked - different classes of crime. To top it all off, neither character was particularly engaging as both seemed a little stupid and a lot selfish. Both seemed to jump with making decisions that had no real reasoning or motive behind it. The whole story was just enough off that I don't hate it but can't like it either.
I liked the premise of the story and had high hopes when I began reading it, however, those hopes were dashed rather quickly. Not sure if AI was used in writing the story or if the author didn’t do any background research beforehand. At times, the terms used to describe things were either strange or way off. She could’ve used a better editor too, since the grammar was incorrect. The context of some of the situations were odd too, making it difficult to believe the storyline.
I think this is the author’s first book. I could be wrong, but if that is the case, I could see that as the reason her style isn’t refined quite yet. Hopefully her next one will be better, though I don’t think I’ll be reading any more of them.
So I would give this a 3.5 but rounded up to 4 for the stars here.
It was a decent book and I am interested in seeing what she does with the rest of the band. I would definitely give them a shot.
Main reason I'm not rating higher is the fact that I feel like the synopsis does not match the actual story line. I was expecting lots of other woman drama and it was like a small drop in the bucket. I actually wanted to read this arc for the OW dram so was bummed there wasn't more.
I'm hoping the other books have more accurate descriptions and look forward to see what is next.
I enjoyed this book. I’m always a sucker for marriage of convenience and grovel. Jude has a rough exterior but he really is a teddy bear on the inside. Protective of Sofia from the start. He can’t deny he feels drawn to her. Sofia I adored. She’s classy and doesn’t let people get reactions out of her. The woman keeps her cool and simply shakes it off like the Queen Jude says she is. I loved how she made him grovel and earn back her trust after he refused to believe her words. I loved how people immediately loved her the second they met her. I cannot wait to read on, with Angels book.

I receive an ARC of this book and I absolutely loved it. The plot moved at a good pace, the characters felt real, and the love story was amazing.
Jude is a grumpy, closed off rockstar. Sofia is a woman in trouble who has been through it, but doesn't let life drag her down. Together they're perfect. They're brought together by a threat from the Mafia and marry to protect her. Then the sparks fly. This book will drag you in and make you want to know more about the characters. I absolutely loved it!
Loved it. Sophia was a woman who was hiding from the mafia and Jude is a super grumpy rockstar who gave her a marriage of convenience to help save her. In the beginning he was still in love with his ex, and she had no desire to fall for him but over time they did fall, hard. However when someone hands Jude some incriminating photos, he makes a bad call that makes Sophia leave. Once he figures out what happens, he’s hell bent on getting his wife back. Fantastic read if you love a little suspense and a lot of grovel with your spice.
I loved Jude and Sofia. This is the first novel I have read by this author and I am so glad I found this novel. This novel did not disappoint. Fron the first chapter this novel sucked me in and held on tight. Once I started reading I could not put it down, at times I was on the edge of my seat reading. I loved Jude and Sofia. I loved watching them both lower their defenses and walls and open their hearts to each other. I loved the chemistry between them. I loved Jude's parents. So good! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next.
I really enjoyed this romance book by a new to me author. Looking forward to starting the next book. Solid introduction to the Six Sinners. Loved meeting Jude and Sofia, and watching their love evolve.
I did however take a star off for missuse of English, repetition of some sentences, and excessive use of Italian without a translation either within the sentences or end of chapters. Finding the translation at the end of the book was a relief but I think it could have been elsewhere as other authors do. I ended up using the translation app on my tablet as I went along. It got annoying.
The FMC is an Italian former actress, who left Italy for Canada when the mob took over the Italian movie studios. In Canada she's a factory worker befriended by a coworker who convinces her to sneak into the USA for model/acting work with the promise of getting her a legitimate working visa.
Once they cross the border on tourist visas the FMC finds out her friend/coworker works for the Italian mob who have their own agenda for her, and now she's being threatened at gunpoint.
Look. I just wanted a rejection/groveling story. I'm not interested in all this Mafia hooha.

What an awesome start to the Six Sinners series! I was so excited to read this one because who doesn’t love betrayal/grovel and in a rock star setting??? Be still my heart! Jude was a fantastic but flawed MMC who really had to work for his redemption. I loved Sofia so much, she was such a strong FMC who worked her butt off for everything and kept picking herself back up when she was knocked down. I can’t wait for angel’s story next!
If you want betrayal and grovel then boy do you get it.
It’s not your standard rockstar romance - Jude is ice cold at the beginning, not really wanting anything to do with her. They fall in love slowly but when he screws up…he screws up. But he walks on bended knee to get back to her and they both work on themselves to become better.
Really loved this style of writing, loved the story and the growth of the characters. Can wait for the next one!
