Celery Day is the story of a family who seem to be at a comfortable place in life until they are thrust into making a momentous decision. Mike (the dad) thought there would be no decision originally. But, as he, Kate and Brian all weigh in they face the double-edged sword of excitement for what can be and fear of losing what you have today. Once their decision is made and they take action on it, they discover more about themselves as individuals and as a family than they have in many years. They also discover the stories of other people that intertwine with their family story - somehow. In fact, the stories share a common root that is not at all obvious. The stories are genuine, deeply human and give Mike, Kate and Brian valuable insights through the lives of strangers. But, why are these stories together, here? The need to know the greater story grows over time. They key to understanding comes from an unlikely place in what appears to be a chance interaction. As the pieces come together, the depth of wisdom from a simple statement of humility and gratitude is revealed.
Steve Queen was born and - mostly - raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (except for 7th - 11th grade in southern Illinois). He earned a B.A. in Letters with High Honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1988. In 1991 he spent 2 1/2 months in six African countries on a team producing adult literacy primers.
"Celery Day" (released December 2014) is Steve's first published book. He is really excited about writing more books. But, first, he would be really excited if you were to purchase, read, absolutely love and review "Celery Day"... which is not about how to grow celery or lose weight eating it.
