Beyond Redemption

Rate this book
Sometimes the greatest act of love looks exactly like betrayal.
Three years after losing two of their own, the Maddoxes are still learning how to survive the unimaginable. Their scars run deep, and for some, the wounds have never stopped bleeding. Life has moved on, at least on the surface, and the family needs to believe the worst is behind them.

Thomas Maddox and his wife, Liis, know how fragile that future really is. They've spent years building a life around a secret. Every decision, every holiday, every family gathering since the funerals has demanded another lie, because the truth could be the only thing powerful enough to divide them.

When a shocking act of violence makes national headlines, there's nowhere left to hide. The exposure draws old enemies back into their lives, forcing Thomas and Liis into a desperate race across the country to protect the people they love—and to face the reckoning Thomas always knew would come.

Beyond Redemption, expected to be published on August 4, 2026, is the long-awaited sequel to Beautiful Redemption. The story takes place three years after the events of A Beautiful Funeral and continues Thomas Maddox and Liis Lindy's story.

Thomas and Liis

According to the author, this isn't just another Maddox story, it's the culmination of years of history, unanswered questions, long-standing tension, and everything these characters have been through. She has described the story as "bigger, darker, and more explosive than anything before," adding, "This isn't just another mission. This is family. This is war." She also said it gives the characters "the ending they deserved."

Jamie also shared an official sneak peek from the novel:

Taylor’s gaze swept the guard towers, moved to the Longhouse, and then finally settled on Thomas and me. Even from a distance, I could see recognition in his eyes. For a heartbeat, he moved as if he might lift a hand, acknowledge us in some small, familiar way. Then his memory caught up. Whatever gesture had almost existed died before it reached his shoulder. He looked at us the way he glowered at the militia—distance, distrust, a line already drawn. We weren’t allies anymore. We were the reason he was here.
“They see us,” I said.
“I would be concerned if they didn’t,” Thomas replied. “Ready?”
“No. You?”
“I thought I was. But now that I see them? The best I can do is to say I’m prepared.”
That was as close as we came to optimism. It vanished almost instantly, and my throat cinched tight. In seconds, the guards would escort them to the Longhouse, and the most dangerous conversation in Maddox history would be underway.

Thomas Liis and Stella

Jamie asked readers in a post, "If you could rewrite ONE Maddox moment, what would you change... or would you leave the chaos alone?" Many readers answered that they would rewrite Olive's death, prompting Jamie to reply with just three words:

"Read. Beyond. Redemption."

wow

Wow, just wow! If I could give this book 10 stars, I would it deserves even more. From the first chapter to the end of the book, it was an emotional roller coaster. I couldn’t put it down. The Maddox family has always been one of my favorites, but the way this tied everything up was amazing. Even though it focused on Thomas and Liis with olive and Bodie, it included the whole family. To be able to look back and remember all of their stories help me captive. The dynamics between the brothers were so true to life. My knuckles turned white holding on during some of the scenes that were so emotional. I cried. I just didn’t want it to end. I hope we’ll see a next generation series with all the Maddox children. Olive and Bodie with the first installment. Please Jamie more!!!!

Brilliant story!!

This is Thomas and Liis' story, as well as all of the other Maddox brothers, their wifes, and children.

This is a well written, action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions secrets, tension, grief, loss, determination, challenges, revelations, danger, suspence, intigue, making choices, drama, forced proximity, and uncondional love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, thrilling addictive page turner.

I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

INSTANT PAGE TURNER

I just finished reading this book, and I already have a hangover from flying through it so fast! My favorite couple of the Maddox family is back and stronger than ever! I always believed there was more story to share from Thomas and Liis, and I’m so glad this book exists! Not to mention, this book held one of the biggest surprises I’ve read from this series in years! Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this book! It’s an instant page turner!

So, I have a love and hate relationship with the Maddoxes. It all started with Travis (obviously) and how I didn’t like him from the get go. And then thankfully he grew up and then it was time to meet his brothers. I gotta be honest, if there is one thing I did, was literally drink their books like the finest Coca Cola (which I love) because that’s just what you had to do back then. But if there is one constant, one brother who has always been my absolute favourite, that will always be Thomas.

There’s just something about Thomas Maddox. He’s just that guy. And then he went and married that girl. There’s nothing remotely to hate about Thomas and Liis Maddox. Nothing. They can’t do nothing wrong in my book. Which brings us to the plot for this book. But before that, I have a review for A Beautiful Funeral. It’s long as fuck (this will be too because I have a lot of things to say) and it pretty much covered all the characters. I’ll go into detail later but one thing that I felt at the time was that I was done. The ending was just like, so fucking dumb that I understand why Jaime took it back lmao.

Now to the good stuff. We start this book with Liis and Thomas living their life almost three years after the attack that took Jim and Olive’s lives from their family. Their little daughter Stella is now a toddler, walking and talking and just an adorable little thing. They’re trying to go on with their lives after the events of A Beautiful Funeral (including Thomas faking his own death) but you can see how it still afects them up until then. Then you get to meet Stella’s nanny Livvy and her boyfriend Bodhi and that little family dynamic was so good to see. If there was one thing i wanted when I heard this book existed was seeing them being domestic. But then tragedy happens which involves Livvy at her school and both Thomas and Liis go to help her. And that tiny event is just a small domino piece that makes the entire carefully constructed world that Thomas and Liis built come crashing down.

This event make them retreat to a secluded place to ensure the safety of their family because the Carlisis are back and this time they won’t rest until they get revenge The secret that both Thomas and Liis carry obviously gets discovered by a video taken in Livvy’s school and the entire family comes down to figure out what exactly happened.

It was so good to see all the Maddoxes in the same place and I enjoyed the little moments but I thought I had grown up too and my beef with certain characters had vanished. Happy to report that wasn’t the case. Travis and Abby are still so good, together and as individuals. Both of them have a moment with Thomas and Liis individually and I was just so proud of the people they have become. There was a point when Thomas tells Abby something so heartfelt that just settles her place in the Maddox family.

Tyler and Ellie were a couple that grew on me, particularly in A Beautiful Funeral. He has always ben the best but Ellie is probably the most evolved character in the entire series. She’s baddass in her own way but also so steady and calm. I genuinely love their love, that peace you feel when they’re together and when she gets her time to shine, she also is very strong. And I loves to see their son again, especially because Stella reminded me to him (always sleeping, it must be a Maddox thing).

Now, I am glad I didn’t get much of Cami on this book because I just can’t stand her. I am happy for her though but one of my favourite moments in the entire series was when Abby called her out on her shit. I don’t care about her but happy for her. Trenton is as stupid as he has been the entire series of books. He’s just so full of shit, I don’t know why he’s so narrowminded. Seriously. The evidence was presented to his face over and over again and he was just caring about himself, woe is me crap. I get where he was coming from, I empathize with him, truly. But his stubborness was just borderline infuriating.

Now, I have beef with Falyn. I don’t know if it’s in her book or not, but there was something about her that I just didn’t fuck with. I said it in my review for Funeral that I was so shocked her and Taylor had so many problems. To be honest, I thought that was gonna be Ellie and Tyler. But Falyn is just so spoiled. In Funeral, leaving Taylor was just like, a no no for me. The children! I get he is not an innocent party and lord knows Falyn has suffered enough in her life both with Olive’s death and but this whole back and forth thing between them is not good for the children. If you’re gonna separate, just do it girl. But what made me more furious was that it’s implied that and that’s just like… this isn’t an eye for an eye, girl.

I didn’t read the spin off but the characters I met here (Zeke, Naomi and everybody) made me curious so I might dive into them.

Overall I enjoyed this book a lot, which kinda reminded me why I read them so long ago. And that is mostly because of Thomas and Liis. Truly the best couple Jamie has ever written. They challenge each other and protect each other and take care of the family above anything else. I understood why they did what they did and even if the others questioned it, I agree. There was not another way. And to echo Travis, if somebody had to make the call, it had to be Thomas. I never knew I would be able to peek into their lives again but I am glad I did, The Four stars comes from some plot holes and loose ends that are still unresolved. But that can be easily solved in a Livvy/Bodhi book.

Glad to finally read this book but was disappointed

I love this series and all the characters etc. I was so ooo excited to hear there was another book. Way to long to get to the good stuff way to much description leading up to the end, I wanted more yummy the good stuff.I felt let let down with this book unfortunately. So much describing motion bad guys etc.. To much of that through the whole book until the very end, I wanted more of our characters etc. Way to descriptive with sound motion describing place etc... My least favorite out of the whole series, I usually eat the book up and don't put it down.. Not the time, would Still say read it because it is in that series but just didn't seem to be much out into this one

Intense and SO good

What a great story and continuation in the Maddox lives. We get to see everyone, and feel pretty much every emotion you can think of. Tommy is my favorite brother and as the oldest always has to take everything on himself. It’s rough and my feelings were all over the place. Trenton got to me too. And Travis, he’s just so perfect. Jamie really did it with this book. I hope we get more Maddox boys and their crazy antics soon. I’ve missed them.

In a cloud of disbelief

Omg. Can it get any better? Just when you accept their story is over, smack in the face with a new one. And much better than the previous one. And then it hits you like a train. And when the smoke is clear, your back looking for the whatever lingers. I want more.
