We were on opposite sides of the law.

He was a cop.
She was a criminal.
Together we were chaos.
Our worlds collided with a violent crash, the impact stronger than either of us could have ever imagined. But we didn't realize until the damage was done and we had more than just broken bones.
Leaving our hearts unguarded only led to destruction.
It exposed us both to a war we never saw coming.

One explosive encounter brought us together.
One infatuation led to a love like no other.
One secret tore us apart.

Fate. I never believed in it. Fate was a bitch I wanted to bury. But one chance meeting, one touch, it left me questioning everything.

You know how sometimes you read a book by a new author and you just know that this is someone that you're going to be hooked on for a long time? Exposed by Ivy Stone was that book for me. It was a page turner I never wanted to set down. The writing was complex, enthralling, with a touch of grit and incredibly sexy. The characters were well developed and multi-layered. What truly hooked me was the author's voice and writing style. I simply couldn't get enough of it. If this book is anything to go by, Miss Stone has quite the career ahead of her and she certainly got herself a huge fan in me.

It's been a few months since I found a book that kept me up well into the night reading. A romance with a deliciously slow burn that crackles with electricity until it finally explodes with so much sexual chemistry it scorches. A heroine that's kick-ass and a hero that will protect her at any cost. A sinfully sexy romance set around secrets, suspense, and enough twists to set you reeling. I loved the absolute hell out of this book!
I didn't realize it at the time, but this day, this second, was the fundamental moment that would change everything. When paths would be crossed for reasons still unkown, when lives would become intertwined.

Lindsey Jenkins has been to hell and back. She's lost everything and had to pick up the pieces not only for herself but her younger sister when she was just a kid herself. Now she's older, stronger, and with enough secrets that may very well bury her.

Chief Detective Mason Cole has secrets and demons of his own. Working for the NYPD Organized Crime Control Bureau in Manhattan guarantees that he's seen the evil that world has, but there's one particular job that continues to haunt him.
I should have listened to my instincts. Instead, I walked the path to hell, into a nightmare bearing an unexpected gift, one that would guarantee a bittersweet demise.

One night changes the course of both their lives and brings them crashing together into a world of deadly secrets and undeniable chemistry.

I loved the complexity of both Mason and Lindsey. It's refreshing to read about a heroine like Lindsey, and without giving anything away it's a role reversal I enjoyed a hell of a lot. This is no sweet blushing virgin. This is one tough chick but not over the top tough. She has just that right amount of vulnerability to endear her to the reader while at the same time not losing the kick-ass intensity that she has. She's fiercely protective of her sister and willing to sell her soul to the devil to keep her safe.
How far would you go to protect the ones you love? I'd bleed lies to set her free. I'd bleed truth to watch her fly

There's another element to this story in the shape of her sister and Mason's partner, Roamyn. I have to admit, I wasn't sure if I'd like Ali at first. When you first meet her, she's deep in the bowels of her addiction and barely functioning. But there's also so much more to her than meets the eye. Roamyn was just the icing on the cake with his broody intensity.

It's great how the author managed to introduce and hook you on the secondary characters without ever losing focus from the main couple and their romance. And let me just tell you, the story of Mason and Lindsey is a hell of a wild ride.

I want him, bad. I want him to slap those cuffs on, tell me what a bad girl I've been, and fuck me into oblivion. I hold back my grin. This is so not going to end well.

I loved the way that Mason pursued Lindsey and broke through all her carefully built barriers. This is not your typical manwhore hero and as much as I love me the manwhores, he was the perfect change of pace. He's not just looking for a meaningless hookup. But at the same time, this is a man with secrets of his own. Demons that he still continues to fight.
You keep putting those walls up, sweetheart, I'm just going to keep knocking them down."

There were a few things that left me with questions about both Mason and Lindsey. Things that I wished were fleshed out a little bit more. Things about Lindsey's past and how she got into the life that she did that I wish we got more development on. I also found myself questioning a few decisions that Mason made as a cop that I had difficulty suspending my disbelief on.

However, it's clear that there's still much more to be told with both of them in the upcoming books so perhaps that will be something that's addressed later on. And even while I can't say that this book was perfect, I still found myself enjoying the story so much that I barely batted an eye lash at the minor issues.

One thing is for sure; I am completely and utterly hooked on this series and can't wait for more. I'm already salivating for Roamyn's story. If there's one book you read this year, let it be this one. This is definitely an author that has some big things in her future. This is one debut you do not want to miss. Trust me on that.

Lindsey is only eighteen when her mother dies. Now it's up to her to look after her younger sister. The way she does it is not strictly legal.
Years later the choices she has made will come back to bite her.
Mason is a detective who deals with the major crime families. When a bust has to be rushed, because one of his team was recognized , the whole thing turns into a bloodbath.
Can Lindsey save her sister? Can she keep the sexy cop from discovering her secrets?
Mason has a few secrets of his own that torment his sleep. Can he trust himself to protect the ones he loves.
This is a very exciting story that kept me on the edge of my seat. Its very hard to put down. Lindsey is a marvellous heroine. Strong, brave and completely loving to her family. Mason is a strong ,sexy and honest hero, with an heart full of love. There are still some mysteries unsolved at the end of the book. So I'm hoping there is more to come. Lindsey's friend Oliver puzzles me. He must have his own story.

This story was all over the place!!!! I'm so confused by the great reviews for it, it's so badly written, it's like a first draft for gods sake. I'm so disappointed because I loved the premise of the story but it was just terribly executed. Maybe I'll pick it up another time...

LOVE THIS STORY TO BITS! LINDSEY AND DETECTIVE COLE ARE JUST FANTASTIC!!

I am suffering from a book hangover. Ivy Stone has done a brilliant job with this story. Exposed is one of the best reads of 2015! I am in love with the story of Lindsey and Mason.

The way Ivy Stone has presented the story is mind blowing. We have our alpha cop who happens to be cute and sexy at the same time. On the other hand we have a strong independent kickass woman. Both of these characters are stubborn, but they give in when with each other.

Anticipation keeps on building when you are reading Exposed. It is hard to keep the book down and you are always on the edge wracking your brain, trying to imagine what is gone to happen next. I love how the story has turned out to be!

My only tiny bit concern was that I wanted to know more about Mason and his issues. Our story revolves around Lindsey and Mason and how they struggle to keep up with each other.

There is attraction, addiction, love, regret, but there is also reconciliation. There is a fight of inner demons that both these characters have to fight. Mason and Lindsey are on the opposite sides of Law, but it is only together they can move forward. They have to fight this battle.

Lindsey is scared to trust people because of her past. The only two people she trusts are Oliver, her best friend and her sister, Alison. So it becomes difficult when Detective Mason Cole walks in her life. Everything changes, for her and for Mason. She starts to feel emotions that have been locked away and that leaves her confused. Whereas on the other hand, Detective Cole is hell bent on making Lindsey his woman. And the way the other has connected the dots in the end, it's brilliant.

Where there is love, there needs to be a heartbreak and there is. For readers it is a nail biting moment in the story. Mason Cole not only give Lindsey a sliver of hope, but to our readers as well.

Everyone is going to love Detective Cole, trust me. Because he just made it to my top 3 book boyfriends. *winks*

Now I am eagerly waiting for the second book, Divide!

Exposed is just WOW. Lindsey grew up different from others with families, love etc.. When she was just 18 Lindsey and her sister Ali lost their mother. From the moment on, Lindsey took care of her sister. She did what was needed, which was a different kind of life that included breaking the law. But she is great at what she does and ends up living life for work and her sister, of course, untill one day when she meets Mason. Then she wants more and so does as her heart request. They have an unbelievable chemistry and they connect on all levels, except she can't tell him what she does for a living because he is a cop... THINGS JUST GET INTERESTING!

What I enjoyed most about Exposed is seeing Lindsey take charge of her life at a young age and take care of her little sister in the process. I loved seeing the story unfold and the love growth between Lindsey and Mason. Yeah, they had some crazy moments, dangerous moments and plenty of intimate moments! Which were amazing! I love that in the end she got what she always wanted and that is to be loved.

Exposed is an AMAZING story! I was entertained the whole time. I loved every page. I really hope there is another follow up story to Exposed because I would love to know what happens in the future of Lindsey and Mason. If you enjoy a take charge woman in stories, and badass detectives, getting together, loss, love, dangerous stories, then this story is a must!

I have been intrigued by this book since I read the blurb and just never got around to reading, so when I was approached with a chance, I jumped at it.

To be honest, I did struggle at first to get into the book however as soon I got the main grit of the story when the two MC's "bumped" into each other I was hooked.

I found Ivy's writing addicting, and it literally kept me engrossed from page to page. The story line in my opinion was unique and a standout compared to some of the more recent reads of mine.

I enjoyed Lindsey's sass and take no bullshit attitude, but I also loved how she knew she was in trouble, and accepted help. Nothing more annoying in my eyes then a chick who thinks she invincible.

Mason, Mason, Mason. Well shit, wasn't he a gem. I swear to god I was squirming in bed during parts of the books, a certain line about Lindsey's ass having to say Good Morning to his cock...

POOOF. PANTIES GONE!!

Damn though guys, he was literally Mr. Perfection. So protective and hot and swoon worthy and hot and perfect and did i say HOT?

Don't get me wrong there were parts of the story which I felt were glossed over and I would of liek to see what happened play out instead of hearing about it, and some words were repetitive in places, but on the whole a really good debut release by Ms Stone, I am most def going to be first in the que for Book 2 in the Unguarded series.

If you love a kick ass female heroine and a hot as sin alpha male then look no further than this book.

Ivy Stone delivered such a strong story line that covered many aspects such as danger, addictions, heartache, love and also the struggles of dealing with inner demons.

The main characters and supporting characters are so well written you can't help but get sucked into their story.

How far would you be willing to go to protect and seek revenge for the ones you love ?
You never really know until you have to make the choice.

And that's exactly what Lindsey had to do.
She did what needed to be done in order to survive and to try protect and get revenge for those she loves the most.
Lindsey is strong minded independent sassy and has only ever really allowed her sister Ali and best friend Oliver to see the real her.
She taught she was happy and had everything she needed in life until Detective Mason Cole came slamming into her life.

Detective Mason Cole is bossy loyal determined protective and sweet as hell.
He struggles with inner demons from something that happened in his past.

Can two people from opposite sides of the law find happiness and love with each other?

Ivy Stone is definitely an author to be watched especially after delivering such a strong and addictive debut book.

I'm not gonna lie, the blurb sold me on this book from the start
He was a cop.
She was a criminal.
Together we were chaos.

As soon as this appeared on my kindle, I left work to read ... and read I did, way into the night! It was a delicious page turner I didn't want to put down for a second. It was gritty and sexy and and it smoldered slowly into a ridiculously incredible volcanic eruption. Our heroine is tough and sexy and our hero matches her pound per pound...
Lindsey Jenkins and Mason Cole both have pasts they'd rather leave in the past. But nothing ever works the way we want it, does it? lol This book is not an easy one to read. Because it isnt rainbows and gumdrops. However, the rainbows and gumdrops ARE there, just hidden behind some clouds ;)

I can't tell you much more about this story without giving you details you should find out on your own when you read it. And read you should, because it's good...really REALLY good. #TRUST

WOW! After reading debut author Ivy Stone’s first book, I can’t wait for the next!
Exposed was exciting with a great story line, Lindsey Jenkins had to grow up fast and look after her younger sister. With life giving both girls a rough start they do what they must to survive. Then Detective Mason Cole comes into their lives and turns things upside down. Ivy has given the reader an insight into the lives of her characters, I was taken on a journey with Lindsey and Mason and totally loved where it took me. I highly recommend you read Exposed, you will be turning the pages and love it!

My Review:
My Rating: B
Overall, this was a good book. I enjoyed the characters and the setup of the story. I loved the whole cop team of Mason, Roamyn, Cassidy, and Elias. There are a lot of scenes with this group and I'm hoping there is more stories for the rest of them. I especially love how it seems like they all agree that there are shades of grey in what's right and wrong. Not a single one of them got on a high horse about what these two sisters might be up to. They look at the facts and the personalities and do their best to protect the sisters.

For Alison and Lindsey, things aren't quite so easy. They've been caught in the middle of right and wrong for a lot of years, most times falling closer to the side of wrong. Both these girls (and Oliver) have been caught up in this world, and are paying the price for it. In this particular story, they've been caught up in a mafia war, but they are more caught up in it than anyone else really realizes...because the Morino family (note: I think I have the mafia family name wrong, but I can't remember exactly what it was) is who pulled them out of the trenches and homelessness when they were just teenagers. And although the two girls have been trying to get free from the family, it's just not that easy.

I loved Mason and his love and dedication to his little girl. I loved Lindsey just because of how strong and tough she is. I wish we could have seen her more as Ghost, because it sounds like the girl has epic kick-butt skills. I loved the little glimpses of side-story we saw with Roamyn and Alison and am dying of curiosity about what exactly has gone on between them.

I do have an issue though with the book. I thought the story, the set-up, and the characters were phenomenal, but I did have some issues with the author's style of writing. And note...this is not a critique that she's a bad writer, because she most definitely is not. It just wasn't to my taste. The author has a lot of flowery language, imagery, and...to put it simply...words. There are long passages in the book that just don't seem to take the story anywhere. In fact, that's something that was really missing in this book. While there is a LOT of mental description and again...flowery language, there is not much scene-setting and descriptions. As a result, a lot of times I felt a bit of a disconnect with what was happening on the page...and sometimes even confusion about whether the words meant something was really happening or if it was just a mental musing by one of the characters. Several times it took me out of the story and made it hard to get fully immersed in the action happening.

But regardless of that, I did enjoy this book. It was a good read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

**JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW**

Exposed by Ivy Stone is book one of the Unguarded series, and boy does this author ever start this series off with a bang. I am a New York City girl, and I absolutely loved how the author detailed specific areas and the allure to the City life there. After I read the blurb I knew this book was going to draw me in and did it ever. Once I started it was hard for me to put down. Ivy Stone gives readers her all in Exposed. We get danger, an alpha NYC detective, a strong, feisty and troubled Heroine, the mafia, drug addiction, vengeance, suspense and last but no least some very hot off the charts hot sex. The prologue to Exposed is very emotional, heart wrenching and gives us a fantastic beginning to what is to follow. What I appreciated the most was the author does not do an instant love with the two main characters and the story line. What the author does is slowly build up their relationship and their story, which for me kept and held my interest but also raised my anxiety level up several notches.

Lindsey and her sister Ari have left a past that was very troublesome, dangerous. A life full of drugs and violence. At a young age Lindsey had no choice but to take her little sister and run in order to be safe. She is a character that does not trust easily, the only people she trust is her best friend Olly and her sister Ari. Lindsey has had to do things in order to survive. Things that if the wrong person were to find out, could be her very end. Lindsey loves her little sister very much but her sister is untamed and hooked on drugs. One night of craziness leads Lindsey into the path of one very hot and dominant Detective, Mason.

Mason, gosh I loved everything about him. He too has had a past, one that we don’t really get to know much of. He is focused on his career and his young daughter Charlotte. He has never had a problem with getting any woman he wants, but when he and his partner get called to an incident his world gets shifted on its axis. When Mason looks at Lindsey, he sees a woman who has suffered, a woman hiding behind a wall, a woman that has a story he wants to know. Mason is totally hot, his mind is filthy (I love it), and his determination and patience to get to Lindsey was really enjoyable to read.

Lindsey and Mason are perfect for each other, but Lindsey knows her past and present will only cause problems for him. Mason not only wants Lindsey under him screaming his name, he wants a forever with her. When Lindsey’s past and secrets come to light, can Mason see past it? Can Lindsey let Mason in before it is too late? With the danger of the mafia lurking will Ari and Lindsey survive? Read this book and find out, you are going to fall in love with their story. I can’t wait to get my hands on the 2nd book.

This was a fantastic debut novel by Ivy Stone. I was literally sucked in from the first page. Mason is a total alpha male in every way and Lindsey is a very hotheaded independent woman that can hold her on. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat and just when you think you have everything figured out…. You have no idea.

Lindsey had a horrible childhood. I felt so bad for the things that she had to encounter but it also made her the woman she is today. She takes care of business without question and would do anything to protect the people she loves. Lindsey has had to do things she isn’t proud of but she has also had to do things to protect the ones she cares about. Lindsey has never been looking for love but when Mason walks into her life she is literally caught off guard.

I love Mason!!! Who doesn’t love a total alpha male cop and he is also a single dad… EVEN HOTTER!!! When Mason meets Lindsey, his whole world is turned upside down. He knows she has her guard up but he knows his feelings are to strong for her to just give up. His daughter also loves her too so he knows she is perfect. But when the secrets comes out and Lindsey’s past comes back to haunt her everything is turned upside down.

I don’t like spoilers so you guys will have to read this book. It is action packed from start to finish. There are a lot of things that happen throughout the book and some I never saw coming. Lindsey is always finding her self in the middle of something and Mason is always right there for her. I also love the secondary characters in this book and I CANNOT wait for their book!! I look forward to the next book by Ivy!

*Advanced Readers Copy received in exchange for an honest review*

Okay so again this will be a short review because I’m at work and I cannot spend a lot of time typing out a review without people seeing. This book sounded interesting the moment I read the blurb. Now as a blogger who adores reading and I love finding new authors. This is my first time reading Ivy Stone’s book. This book was okay but it needed more for me.

I really liked Mason’s character. He is a perfect alpha male but he is also a perfect wonderful farther. Mason made this story for me. One the other hand I did not like Lindsey…. She was way too cold to me, and I couldn’t warm up to her. I did feel for her and her sister and I understand that her past shaped her. As for this story there was plenty of drama, tension and obviously suspense and there was great, hot and steamy scenes between Mason and Lindsey.

Trust me when I tell you this author got you guessing and alert, and you would not never be sure where things are going or end up. Sadly I wish this book could have pulled me in more. I wish I could have gotten more of Roamyn and Alison’s background and their full story. Since Mason made this book for I can only give this book a 3 heart rating. I liked the other supporting characters but I did not like Lindsey at all. This story flowed well but at times I kind of felt confused especially at the beginning.

If you are a fan of drama and suspense or anything to do with organized crime stories laced with romance, then obviously this story will be for you. A warning this is 18+ for adult language and has sexual content.

When I first read the blurb for Exposed, it had me intrigued to read the book. I don't normally read stories that deal with organized crime, and so this story was a bit of a detour for me.

My favorite thing about the book was Mason's character. He really is the perfect guy-strong, alpha detective but also a loving father. For me, Mason was the absolute best thing about this story. And as far as characters go, Roamyn was my second favorite--there's so much more to everything between him and Lindsey's sister that their story has also piqued my interest.

Lindsey on the other hand...she just came across as too cold to me, I could not really warm up to her character at all. While I understand that her past has shaped her personality and made her the way she is, the way her character is written just didn't move me at all. To go along with that, even though everything on Mason's side felt genuine, the two of them together just didn't work for me.

As for the storyline, you'll get plenty of drama, tension and suspense along with some relatively short hot and steamy scenes between Mason and Lindsey. The author does keep you guessing and alert, not sure of where things are going or will end up. For me though, the story just didn't pull me in like I hoped it would. I was actually wanting to know more about Roamyn and Alison's background and full story instead.

Since Mason did it for me, as well as the supporting characters, but Lindsey did not...this put me on the fence for a 3-star rating. If you're a fan of of the drama and suspense, or are into organized crime stories laced with romance, this story will be for you (18+ for adult language and sexual content).

First, let me THANK Author T. L. Smith for sharing this book in her group on Facebook otherwise, I never would have found my newest obsession. Thank you lady!

This book from beginning to end had me HOOKED! I immediately connected with the characters and just had to know more about Lindsey and Mason... HELLO, HOT AF DETECTIVE MASON COLE! This story was so well written and detailed. I loved how this story was paced out and the palpable connection between Lindsey and Mason jumped off the page me. The angst between these two, the sparks flying when they connected (quite literally), and OH the chemistry between them. Absolutely loved reading them falling in love. This book had everything for me. The chemistry between the lead characters, hell, even the chemistry between the secondary characters, the suspense, the twists and turns, I didn't see coming, like at all (Enzo, Adriana, Jeremy) .... I'm obsessed but I said that already. lol! The ending had me smiling like a loon and that ending, yeah that leads into BOOK 2... HOLY WOWZERS! Didn't see that coming... I'm so grateful that I now can say I'm a Ivy Stone worshiper. Her beautiful words and characters are forever etched on my soul. I highly recommend her Unguarded Novel's.. and I call dibs on Mase ... "Protect and Serve" me, Mase!

I have a feeling tho, Roamyn will be giving him so competition in 'Divided'

Exposed by Ivy Stone is an amazing first book in her Unguarded series. Exposed is about Mason and Lindsey. Mason is a cop with stuff he is hiding from everyone about a takedown gone wrong but he does everything he can to keep it locked away. Mason also has a daughter that is his everything. Then Mason meets Lindsey and he cant seem to get her out of his head but he knows she is keeping something from him and he is determined to find out what it is but when he finds out will he run away from her? Lindsey has not had an easy life growing up and then her and her sister was homeless and was helped by a crime family that showed her how to get revenge on the one person who turned her and her sisters life upside down. Lindsey has some dark secrets and things she wishes she could undue because it is just getting to much for her. Lindesy has also grown to wanting Mason all the time but there are some things that could make him run the other way or better yet arrest her because of them. Will Mason and Lindsey be able to come to terms with each others jobs and pasts? Will they be able to be strong enough for each other? Ivy does an amazing job writing the story of Mason and Lindsey it will have you crying and saying omg and hoping it all works out. This is a story you dont want to miss.

As a blogger but mainly just as a reader I love finding new authors (At least new to me) and new books. And Mrs. Stone is actually a new author to me. I haven't read any of her books and I thought this one sounded interesting.

I really liked Mason's character. He's dealing with raising a daughter on his own, after his daughters mother passes in a accident. He has a job that dangerous most day's. And he's an all around s#xy alpha male.

I thought Lindsey's character was alright. She had her moments (again at least for me).  I felt for her and her sister, I really did. It was obvious they hadn't lived the easiest life's after their father passed away and their mother turned to drugs. I times I thought she was strong and tough. But at times her attitude turned me off.

I thought that this was an enjoyable book and the story flowed well. I guess I wasn't sure what to expect with this book and the synopsis only gives you a little clue. At times I kind of felt confused as to what was going on, especially at the beginning. But I think it became more clear after a few chapters.

I'm giving this book 3.5 stars out of 5!!!!

4 Stars!!

LOVED this book! It was a great story that had me glued to my iPad for two days! Here is what a I loved:

1) Loved that the female character is a BOSS, she can kick anyone's ass at any time! I love how strong Lindsey was, she was a great female character, zero drama, no mopping around stuff. I really enjoyed reading her story.
2) Mason was just perfect, the guy was hot, a detective and did I mention hot? Plus he was a single parent?? what else can we ask for! He was really strong too, sweet and mature.
3) Loved all secondary characters: Oliver, Aliso, Roamyn, Cassidy,I was even intrigued by Enzo! Great job building all this characters!
4) I loved that both lead characters had their own demons, and that not everything was flowers, I also loved their connection and the relationship they build.
5) I was glad that even though they were in a lot of trouble, the drama was kept to a minimum, I was glad about this.

Great book and story, I totally recommended!! And I'm really tempted on reading the second book in the series to see what's going to happen between Ali and Roam.

Favorite Quotes:

“I shake my head at her nonsense. Drama. It follows her around like a bad smell. I cringe, imagining what she has gotten herself into now.”

“He’s a cop, Lindsey. It’s his job to sniff out liars and while you’d probably rock the orange jumpsuit, I can’t picture you happily swapping your Dior threads for it.”

“I was always bold enough to use my voice, but never brave enough to listen to my heart.”

My Review:

Exposed is a strong debut for a new author, full of suspense, secrets, and tension. I wasn’t sure I was going to like these characters, and although she was a bit frustrating, she grew on me. The story line was unique and held my interest, and the writing was well paced and entertaining.

This book has been sitting on my kindle for awhile and I'm mad at myself right know for waiting so long to read this book. I loved that I was pulled into the story from the first page, that the story is very well written and that the characters are very well developed. I also loved that I felt very connected to the characters. This book is Mason and Lindsey's story and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This book is one of those that completely wrap you up and hold you. I was mesmerized by the storyline and the characters were sensational. Mason is a book boyfriend dream and Lindsey is a sassy spitfire. This is one of those definite must read books.

DNF at 29%. There's just too much going on and the plot is all over the place. And the instalove doesn't work here at all.
