A train ran and operated by AI where every single train car is a terrifying escape room of sorts? SCARY! I’m obsessed with this series! Ander and Liam are some of my favorite characters and I’m so attached to them at this point it’s not even funny! I love the dialogue and banter throughout. Even with everything going on. Each train car was absolutely horrifying and the deaths in this one were pretty brutal! Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better I swear!

I'm grateful to have recieved an eARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.
I don't even know where to start honestly. I'm getting more obssessed with this series the more I read and I never want it to end, because Ander and Liam are now my comfort characters.
What makes it special and unique to me are the different settings in each book. The story stays fresh and fun this way. Moving train was a great set up for a slasher and I loved the idea of each room being set up as an escape room. I was amazed at how many different scenarios we went through and it never got boring. My favourite though is still the underwater facility.
At first I was really missing Liam, because I loved his and Ander's interactions in previous books. Also he's just an amazing character. But the more I read the more interesting it was to watch Ander figure things out by himself and see him grow as an individual. We also got to know more lore about Ander's family/ancestors which I really enjoyed. Overall we had very diverse set of characters and I loved all the representation we got. Apart from Ander I had at least two characters that I really liked and had my fingers crossed that they both survived (didn't happen). One of them did in fact die and what made their death even more sad (yes i cried) was the fact that they were very likeable and kind and their personality was built up really well, which made their death very emotional (just like a certain character's death in Blood in the Water, which also made me sob).
The plot was fairly fast-paced and the tension in the beginning was good. The first deaths were already brutal and left me with my mouth open and a little sick to my stomach (but like in a good way. i think). And then it just kept going and going. What really threw me off was the plot twist towards the end. Really didn't expect that, but found it brilliant. And finally at the end we got to see Liam and Ander together which left me with a smile on my face after the entire horrifying ride. Hopefully we'll have more of that in the next book.
Very gory and fun! I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next. I'm going to be (im)patiently waiting until then.

Love this series but hoowee! Make sure you check your trigger warnings with this one. Several sensitive topics and so. much. gore
I love the progression and getting more insight into the bigger picture. I couldn't wait for this installment, and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to the next chapter!

The books in this series genuinely just keep getting better and better! I loved the mystery/thriller vibes of this and how things came together in the end. The casual queer representation was also amazing to see in this genre especially. The escape room vibes was amazingly done, it had good tension that left me wanting to read just one more chapter… and then another.
The concept of AI taking over something and it not going well (shocking no one but the rich) was a horror on its own. Honestly, this book really felt like it had Saw vibes to it as the characters fought to stay alive in escape rooms from their nightmares. I really liked the pacing of this book, while it was longer I enjoyed how detailed and descriptive it was.
Ander is just out there living one nightmare after another. Ryan was such a cool new character, at first I wasn’t sure about her but happy to say my opinion changed so quickly. She is such a badass. Also loved seeing more of aunt Carole.
I am really looking forward to seeing what horrors the next book will hold.
