Gripping story of faith, adventure and discovery

This story is Jason Bourne meets Robert Langdon. The action of a unknowing faithless soldier crossed with the archaeological and historical search for answers about the true origins of religion and faith. Uncovering a lost crypt and learning lost secrets about the earliest figures in the Catholic Canon make for a great read.

The pages kept flying!

I chose this rating because it kept me awake long into the nights. I would try reading "with one eye open", but would invariably wake up with the kindle on the floor and my glasses still on. This book is first rate thriller! I definitely want to read more by Stephen Marley. I recommend it to anyone who loves first-class mystery and some of the supernatural!

Great book

Was a very interesting book. Loved the story line and characters. At some points I would get confused and have to go back but I really enjoyed this book.

The only reason to call this a book is that it has pages. No plot. Poor character development. Or rather no character development. Long rambling 'conversations' about a pseudo religion and physics theory, neither of which made any sense. My recommendation, steer clear of this mess.

Not my cup of tea at all

I was hoping for a thrilling adventure but found this one very hard to get into. The history lessons given by some of the characters were boring and it seemed that even those characters didn't enjoy giving them. As for the lost and found love in the book - all very romantic but also flat and unrealistic. Unfortunately, what seemed like a great idea and premise, was destroyed by a high overdose of visions, weird dreams, and injected with liquid boredom. But that's only my opinion...

Different and Interesting!

Action, drama, a tad bit of romance, and Vatican intrigue. The most interesting plot was about a forgotten offshoot of Christiananity where Mary is more important than her son. This is combined with Mary's teaching includes quantum physics. Sounds implausible, but the theories are certainly thought provoking. I intend to research the historical basis for this plot.

Confusing

Too many bad guys jumping in and out of the action, too many good guys who are actually bad guys ( or are they really good guys), and then all the metaphysical stuff to boot just left me confused and disappointed. I gave it three stars for the happy ending.....it was happy, wasn't it. Yoi

Slow read

I'm an avid reader and a fan of Dan Brown, Steven King and Anne Rice among a few. I was hoping to find a new author to add to my favorite list, but found this story very hard to follow at the beginning. I love when you pick up a book and page one has you hooked, not so with this story. I'll try one more book by Stephen Marley, I hope his style pulls me in.

Honestly I don't know what I think about this book. Interesting ideas, too much violence, a sad view of religion that I think the author thinks is not sad.
Date finished is approximate.

Maybe a half star more

A bit difficult to get into, but it improves. Heavy on the supernatural, too much for my taste. Great and gritty women though.
