Tanto este como el primero nos han parecido bastante flojos (los estoy leyendo con mi hija mayor de 9 años).
Aunque este nos ha parecido más dinámico que el primero, nos siguen resultando más de risa y aventuras que de miedo.
También nos ha recordado mucho a la película clásica "La isla misteriosa."

Following on from their adventure in the first book, Billy alongside he’s sister Sheena revisit their uncle in the Caribbean.
But there’s something up with the fish, a tropical minnow is four feet long!
It’s a silly ridiculous adventure with giant fish, the first book was never adapted for television and I felt that this was written in mind.
It’s pretty weak compared to the first book and my abiding memories is mainly with the two part adaption.

#58 "Something's fishy... again!"
Billy and Sheena are back with an all-new adventure. They are again spending the summer with their uncle on his floating lab in the Caribbean. But something even Stranger than last summer is going on under the water. The fish are growing to monster sizes and are hungry, very hungry!

Not our favourite book in the series.
Deep Trouble II is the fifty-eighth book in the Goosebumps series. It is no-where near as good as the other books truthfully it was a little boring, but the kids still enjoyed it when they read it.
I am re-reading this series for nostalgic reasons.
The Goosebumps series was a staple in our house. My kids absolutely loved them, and to say I read these books with them once is an understatement. We read them many times as each of my three kids became old enough to read them. They still have them and are getting to read them with their kids.

I didn't like it that much, especially the ending. The ending felt very dragging. Fighting over who drinks it and ‘do it now!’ and talking in between. It was draining. Draining my energy and the will to read. Perhaps it's 'cause I don't like anything with sea and fish but this book just wasn't enjoyable.

It's very nice to reminisce some of my favorite books back in Elementary. This is a sequel to the story of the trouble-maker kids, Billy Deep and his sister, Sheena. In this story, they are in for more underwater adventures in the Caribbean when they are back with their uncle for another summer vacation.
They meet deeper trouble again starting with the evil scientist -Dr. Ritter (who planned to turn the Deep siblings into a fish), two giant-sized goldfish, and a man-eating jellyfish.
The story was left unwrapped because Dr. Ritter transformed himself into a fish before the police came for help. At the end, Sheena planned to prank Billy by drinking some of the left bottles which contains chemicals that turn someone into some-FISH. She then picks up another bottle and drinks the contents, though she is suddenly unsure if she picked the right one..

Title : Deep Trouble 2
What I thought about this book as a kid: I remember seeing this one online before I ever owned it at a friend's house on eBay and getting a blurry picture of the giant goldfish thinking the cover didn't look that great.After that I remember getting this book from a thrift store which I'm pretty sure is the twenty five cent place where all the books were twenty five cents.I remember reading this one thinking ironically this was way better then Deep Trouble.I remember liking the giant fish and I remember the plankton being the thing that caused it.One thing I do remember differently though and that's I remember this book in the lab setting for a good amount.I was wrong about two things
Plot: The story starts off with Billy Deep back for another Summer along with his sister Sheena staying in the Cassandra with their uncle Deep.Billy is pretending to be an underwater explorer again but is interrupted by his sister when he begins tickling her. She calls him a moron for pretending to be this underwater explorer and Billy climbs back on the boat.He wants to prank her because she apparently doesn't believe in a lot of things that Billy does.So he grabs a pillow and turns it sideways to pretend to be a shark.He jumps back in the water and swims towards her and she screams that there's a shark, but this turns out to be a real shark the size of a whale trying to attack them. He barley escapes while the shark runs into the boat.Dr.Deep appears when the shark hits the side of the boat and knocks it really hard.The kids explain that it was a shark that hit the side of the boat but. Dr. Deep says that no shark could move a boat like that,but the kids explain that the shark was like the size of a wheel.He finds this interesting and carries the kids into his lab to show him this fish that he caught that's really huge, but he can't really determine what kind of fish it is.Billy flips through this book and finds a small fish that has the same pattern scales as the fish that he has and it turns out to be a minnow. Dr.Deep finds this fascinating,as minnows don't get very big. Billy notices there's a head floating in his fish tank that holds his goldfish and snail. it turns out to be a prank that Sheena pulled on him that has a doll head inside of it.She removed his fish and put them in another bowl. Billy notices something inside of these little jars and asks Dr.Deep about it.Dr.Deep.tells him it's plankton and that Billy should feed his goldfish and snail and that they will love it. After this the kids are swimming again and Sheena gets caught in this giant gelatin substance in the water turns out to be a jellyfish ,again she escapes when something even bigger approaches them. It turns out to be a bigger jellyfish.We're back on the boat again and Billy hears this loud thumping noise and the boat starts rocking it turns out that there's a giant snail on his boat and a giant goldfish that's almost making the boat turn sideways. The kids and Dr. Deep throw the fish overboard and go back down to the lab when they hear footsteps on the boat. They climb back up and discover that there's three guys on their boat and these three guys are Dr. Ritter and I don't remember the other two's name.Wait, one is named Mel. Dr Ritter asked the kids if they've seen anything suspicious on their boat.Dr. Deep and Sheena lie about not seeing any giant fish or anything like that.Billy blurts out that they've seen all kind of giant things and Dr Ritter doesn't like this because apparently he's the one that has been causing all this.It turns out that he created this Plankton that make the fish get really big to stop world hunger. Dr.Ritter doesn't want any of these people to steal his experiment ,but before Dr.Ritter and his goons can really do anything.these giant seagulls appear and the kids and Dr.Deep escape on a boat and wind up on this island.This is where I'm going to leave this story because I've already given away too much.
What I thought about this book as an adult: I cannot believe that I like this book more than the first Deep Trouble. This book was a bunch of random Giant things attacking.The most interesting thing about this book was the villain who had very simple motives. I really only liked the giant things attacking and again the villain. Other than that this book was honestly kind of weak in my opinion.I struggled on the rating that I was going to give it.I think I'm going to settle on a three out of five stars. I think that's fair.I also wanted to mention this was another buddy read,so huge thanks for that.

Deep Trouble II was a story about scientist being really bad at science. There were so many holes in the logic of the villain that he ended up being the only part of the book I enjoyed. If you think about him a non sequitur joke instead of the primary driver of the plot, then this book works as a self parody if you squint just right. Because evil plans are hard when you’re a villain who is bad at planning things, and they can go very poorly if you’re a marine biologist who doesn’t understand basic math. This wasn’t a good book, but I genuinely enjoyed the faulty logic of it all. Stine does really well when he leans into the weird, but he does even better when he matches that with context and good characters. Deep Trouble II felt rushed and uninspired, but it managed to eek out just enough charm to occasionally feel like a self aware B-movie.

Enjoyed this sequel almost as much as the first one. We have the deep family again on another sea adventure together featuring all sorts of creatures and trouble.

Το βιβλίο αγνοεί εντελώς την ιστορία με την οποία μας σύστησε τους ήρωες και τις περιπέτειές τους, είναι ελάχιστα διασκεδαστικό, καθόλου τρομακτικό, ενώ περιέχει ένα σωρό πληροφορίες και στοιχεία που στην πραγματικότητα δεν βγάζουν κανένα απολύτως νόημα. Και είναι η στιγμή εκείνη που χαίρεσαι που μια σειρά, έστω και παιδική, φτάνει στο τέλος της...

In the home stretch - almost done with my reread of the entire original series.
And after reading this book, I can't wait to be done. This book is terrible. I didn't even like the first Deep Trouble that much, and this one is even worse. It is so completely absurd, far-fetched, and filled with plot holes.

The only reason I add half a star is for the humor / comical aspect of the story. It is so ridiculous that it's literally laughable at some points.

You will pull me in every time with aquatic horror every single time and a sequel, too?! I had a great time revisiting the siblings and seeing what they got up to this time. What I did not expect was the more human horror that came near the end... but this is a good example of how we are the monsters some times. Nice pacing... not a total fan of the cliffhanger ending... it was a little ambiguous and repetitive of what happened just beforehand... but... maybe I'm a little dense! These scary fish though!!

Surprised this gets so many negative reviews...I thought it was ace! Then again, I am a bit fish crazy. Dr Ritter's scheme left me wondering what life would be like if I fed some of his plankton to my own collection of scaly friends. A car sized neon tetra. A bus sized corydora. A jumbo jet sized shrimp. Ok, getting carried away now but you get the idea. This is definitely as good as the first Deep Trouble book, possibly even better. A solid 4 stars. Well done Mr Stine!

It was fine. It was basically like book one, only something different is happening in the sea. Nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. Well, besides the fact that a second book wasn't necessary and why on earth the kids would return the next year after things that happened last year. Also, are we not going to explain the ending of the last book? Really? I really dislike most of R.L. Stine's sequels. But, it wasn't as bad as some other ones I've read.

Fun sequel but definitely not as good as the first Deep Trouble. It’s a quick easy, perfect for summer read & I really like the characters of Billy & Sheena Deep.

There was a lot going on with this one. I feel like this theme repeats in several Goosebumps books but this one takes on much more of the fantasy approach.

It's been a while since I read
Deep Trouble
, a book which I felt leaned more into adventure than horror, and so stands out from the majority of Goosebumps books - not necessarily for the right reasons. I suppose because it's quite different, I can maybe sort of see why there would be an appeal in revisiting the story for a sequel, but, much like the twist ending in
My Best Friend Is Invisible
, Deep Trouble II feels like R.L. Stine decided to just mash up the concept of
Deep Trouble
with
Monster Blood
, or, I guess more specifically
Monster Blood II
. As I enter this final stretch of Goosebumps books (I only have four remaining from the original series!) I wonder if Stine's creativity has just run dry and if we'll start to see more mash-ups of previous ideas. Time will tell...
Anyway, Deep Trouble II reunites us with protagonist Billy Deep - he's a year older, but not exactly a year wiser. Once again Billy and his sister Sheena are visiting their uncle Dr. George Deep for a summer aquatic adventure. I will admit that the start of this book does veer a little more towards horror than the previous book, but by the midway point events become rather silly with the introduction of our antagonist, the scientist Dr. Ritter. From here on out the plot hops around nonsensically, featuring desert islands and friendly dolphins and remarkable moments of convenience. In fact, throughout this book there is a distinct lack of description, resulting in significant moments being breezily brushed over. It feels like Stine was in a rush to crank this book out.
Although there isn't a whole lot of Deep Trouble II that makes much sense, it's kinda tolerable because the protagonist isn't as awful as some other Goosebumps main characters. I also like the uncle, and I think the ocean setting certainly has potential for a good spooky fun time (even if that potential is squandered here). This is a bit of a step back in quality from Deep Trouble , but a sequel that diminishes in quality is hardly surprising.

SEQUEL TIME! Sequel time is never a good time in Goosebumps land...
Billy, Sheena, and their scientist uncle (SO MANY SCIENTISTS IN THIS SERIES) are back on the water, and who the hell cares that they discovered mermaids last book. We're going to talk about PLANKTON. For serious. Well, at least until the kids start seeing GIANT fish swimming around. In fact, when Billy's goldfish explode in size, they almost sink the ship! This causes some really bad dudes to come by who have been experimenting on the plankton to grow super large fish to save the world from hunger, but they're evil and don't want people to know because reasons. They are going to kill our protagonists, but they escape thanks to GIANT seagulls and end up on a deserted island until they are rescued by GIANT dolphins. The dolphins bring them back to their ship where the head evil dude is. He reveals that when a human eats the plankton, they turn into a fish. Billy tricks him by drinking some by not changing (but it was totally cause he had an "awesome" prank involving ice tea prepared), so the evil dude drinks some himself, becomes a fish, and YEA THIS BOOK IS FINALLY OVER EXCEPT SHEENA MIGHT BE A FISH I DON'T CARE. Deept Trouble II made no sense, wasn't scary, and completely ignored what happened in book 1. BAD BOOK, GO GET EATEN BY A GIANT CRAB OR SOMETHING!

I didn't finish it because it was so predictable I couldn't stand reading all of the filler in between the 2nd and last chapter. Also, I've got a horrible cold, so I'm kinda down for the count. So if you see very little updates, that's why. But, heck, no one actually going to see this review. I've only written 526 characters, so f*** it. I've already got a billion problems with the beginning, but I don't care enough to write a review that even closely acknowledges its contents and justifies them as to why they are awful.

I like the first and this second Deep Trouble book, I enjoyed them not the way I typically expect a Goosebumps book, they mostly play out like a sci-fi, fantasy, thriller than a horror but I just enjoy them for what they were and just lots of fun.
They have a great atmosphere set in the ocean and in the cool on the sea lab, the sequel deals with a more far fetched concept and it's so ridiculous, even the first one aren't crazy as the story in here but this is still as fun and in tone with the first one in some ways.
On verdict prefer the first book better.

Another okay sequel, another kind of disappointed Connie because this book could've been made borderline genius but instead it was tettering on the edge of being mediocre and being kind of rubbish. I liked the uncertainty of the ending and I liked the plot idea as a whole. But as usual, the problem was the execution.

This book was ok. It's about 2 sibling named Billy and Sheena Deep. Their uncle has this cool floating lab in the Caribbean. Thats where they were staying at for that summer. As they go swimming they encounter sea monsters that are really big. They keep on growing and growing and their fun just got cancelled.
