Review of advance copy
I did not expect this book to be so dang good. The prose was good, the characters were unique, I enjoyed the world building. I haven’t read many stories about cryptids, but this made me want to read more. It was a very unique creature that I haven’t seen before.
Austin and Cole are a couple of big dummies and I love them. You could really see how much they cared about each other, but also how much they hurt each other. It was great to be inside Austin’s head and see how he justifies things to himself. I really would have loved to be inside Cole’s head as well.
The ending is absolutely bittersweet, and I can’t wait to read more about the wardens.
