Rate this book
Ralph Doudera, a money manager who handles hundreds of millions of dollars of his own and others' wealth, takes you along as he struggles with wealth on his personal journey over the Class 5 Rapids of Mammon. A Conundrum is a problem where the answer is very complex, possibly unsolvable without deep investigation. This book is for everyone who wrestles with the puzzles of wealth. Maybe they have too much money, or maybe not enough. It is a must read for those who raise money for worthy causes, and for those who need to give more. Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down as the author takes you from the crisis of the stock market crash on Black Monday to the filthy street of Calcutta, where he learned the true value of wealth from Mother Teresa. Not much is predictable here. Be prepared for surprises as you travel on this journey.

Subtitle: A Money Manager Wrestles with the Puzzles of Wealth. This is so refreshing to think about, especially for Americans thinking about saving for "retirement" up to and including the comfortable ones reaching that point.

Not a bad little book. Mostly enjoyed the stories. The thing I most appreciated was his encouragement to give away the money you’ve designated to give now, and not to wait. He truly wanted to empty his “barn”.

Not ready to rate it just yet. Maybe a 3.5-4? Think I want to read it again. The chapter “A life of financial freedom” was probably my favorite. It would be worth reading that first and then start at the beginning. I think it would help calibrate your understanding of where the author is going.
