Overall, an enjoyable light romance. :)
I have a weakness for Templar heroes (aka warrior monks, crusty battle-hardened knights, or socially challenged assassins -- males of that ilk in whatever the setting), so this book started on the right foot from the get-go. I also liked the heroine -- she was inexperienced, but not unrealistically stupid ("Gasp! Why is your peen getting hard?! Why are my nipples tingly?!!" ...Yeah, Sarah can't stand that shit) or afraid of her sensual nature (once the initial awkwardness wore off). They were a very pleasant, likable pair of MCs.
...And therein lies the downside of the story. Simon & Jocelyn's tale has great underpinnings, yet ultimately glosses over too much. I didn't expect the unparalleled grit & awesomeness of Love's Fiery Dagger, but I was hoping for greater depth & growth, something along the lines of Malcolm's Honor (another medieval Hqn Historical). The undying lurve in this one arrived too quickly & too thoroughly for my taste.**
That being said, it was a solid 'sweet' romance & I was interested in the characters' journey regardless. Given my track record with 'sweet,' that's no mean feat -- so I award it 4 stars.
**One thing I did like was the resolution (or lack thereof?) re: Simon's douchebag father. Their attitude at the end, rang true to someone(s) who survived their adventures.

I loved 'Crusader Captive'! It was just UHHHHHH! So good!
Its meant to be a kiss and forget but Im not forgetting! The Characters are so wonderful that the reader can't help but love em' all! This is my first Merline Lovelace novel, and i adored the whole thing--The Plot, Characters, Situations, Dialogue -was just perfect. My only problem with this book is that I really wished it was longer!
The hero, Simon is beyond perfect, his love is so pure and when he quotes a song back to the heroine,Jocelyn, I just was dieing of sweetness.
This book is ADORABLE WITH A GOD-DAMNED CHERRY ON FREAKING TOP!.
TOO CUTE! Merline Lovelace got a few tears outta me to :)
Merline wrote the novel in such away that the Characters are relatable and have depths of real life to them. She puts the characters into situations that you,the reader, can imagine yourself in.
A quick, sweet read.

J'ai beaucoup aimé cette romance, qui partait sur une idée assez originale : une jeune femme noble qui veut à tout prix perdre sa virginité pour ne pas être mariée de force à un émir et se retrouver enfermée dans un harem.
Outre le style impeccable - comme toujours chez Harlequin - j'ai apprécié l'histoire, assez riche en rebondissements, et les personnages, qui ne m'ont agacée à aucun moment, et auxquels je me suis rapidement attachée, ce qui est vraiment un bon point.
J'ai également aimé le fait qu'il n'y ait pas de quiproquos, de malentendus ou de non-dits inutiles (je n'aime pas quand toute l'intrigue est basée sur des choses que les protagonistes ne veulent pas révéler, alors que ça règlerait tout).
Les scènes intimes ne sont pas nombreuses et très soft, ce que j'ai apprécié également.
En résumé, je n'ai rien à reprocher à cette romance, qui m'a fait passer un très bon moment, et je lirai d'autres livres de cette autrice.

Jocelyn was really haughty in the beginning. I didn’t enjoy that fact, although I understand it came with the rank. And Simon wasn’t endearing either.
After the heroine loosened up though, she became more likeable. The history was interesting.

Very good for an easy, quick read. The story was unique and flowed well. Though only 177pgs it was never rushed. The h and hr were strong, loveable characters.

I really enjoyed this story set near Jerusalem between a soon-to-be knight Templar and the Lady of Fortemur.
The only thing I really regret is the coarse scenes! This book could have been so better without them.
I can understand that some scenes "need" to be written to explain things... but I like them soft... and some acts should not be too described on a book unless there is a fair warning!

Hahahaha,
so that book was very interesting. Different type of romance novel than I usually read, set during the 2 crusades. But I found it hard to believe that they feel in love that fast. And also Im sorry her secret cave (hahahahaha) did the author mean to do that.

Perhaps more of a 3 1/2. Not a deep plot, but an enjoyable easy read.

This should be more of a 3.5 stars. An easy read, but as another reviewer stated "not a deep plot". Still I enjoyed it.
