It has a lot of information but it is well laid out so the book is easy to get around. The pictures are very helpful with some of the information, making it easier to understand. Good introduction to fly fishing. I recommend this book if you are new or old to the sport.
This was an informative book with very pleasing illustrations and photographs, but at points I found it frustratingly gimmicky. It would have been much more readable if it was written plainly in lieu of this over-the-top "307 Essential Skills and Tips" format. This structure made it read more like a magazine listicle than a "Total Manual". But this is only a contention with format; there is no denying that Cermele is a competent writer and knows what he's doing with a fly rod.
This book is full of fishing techniques for a variety of fish from stream fishing trout to lake fishing bass to salt water fishing. There is so much good information I initially purchased an e-book but I have just purchased a hard copy so I can take it with me on fishing trips and try a few techniques throughout the year.
