Angela Sommer-Bodenburg is the author of a number of fantasy books for children. Her most famous contribution to the field of children's fantasy is "The Little Vampire" series which has sold over 10 million copies and has been translated into over 30 languages. Sommer-Bodenburg states that her "vampire is not a bloodthirsty monster, however, but an affectionate little vampire with fears and foibles who will perhaps help free children of their own fears." The novel, written in 1979, spawned a series of books, and the plot has been adapted to theatre, radio, cinema, and television. A Canadian-German TV series was released in 1986 and a film version, directed by Uli Edel was released in 2000.

Me ha traido tan buenos recuerdos de cuando era peque. Que historia tan divertida. Deseando hacerme con el resto y leer más aventuras de Anton, Rúdiger y Anna. No me acordaba para nada de Anna y es claramente la mejor😍.

Anton ist mehr als überrascht, als plötzlich auf seiner Fensterbank ein echter Vampir auftaucht: Rüdiger von Schlotterstein. Der anfängliche Schrecken legt sich bald, denn Rüdiger ist ein netter Vampir und die beiden werden Freunde. Und Rüdiger hat eine jüngere Schwester, die ebenfalls sehr nett ist: Anna von Schlotterstein. Antons Eltern möchten seine neuen Freunde auch kennenlernen, doch das ist gar nicht so einfach...

Mein Leseeindruck:
"Der kleine Vampir" ist auch ein Buch aus meiner Kindheit und ich kann mich auch noch an die Fernsehserie erinnern, die damals lief.
Dieses Buch jetzt nach all den Jahren wieder zu lesen, weckt sehr viele Kindheitserinnerungen.
Vielleicht ist meine Fünf-Sterne-Bewertung daher nicht ganz objektiv, aber ich habe die Geschichte nach all den Jahren einfach wieder sehr genossen!

Küçük Vampir çocukken okuyamadım diye içimde kalan bir kitap. Kardeşim okuyordu, ben de istedim ama bu kitaplar için büyüdün Berfin diyerek okumadım. (Bu arada 11- 12 yaşında falandım. :3) Şimdi yıllar sonra, 23 yaşımdayken tanıştım Küçük Vampir ile. Çok tatlı, yazıldığı yıla göre acayip yaratıcı bir kitap, iyi ki okumuşum. İkinci kitabı da en kısa zamanda okuyacağım.

Ich wollte seit einiger Zeit wieder Bücher in Deutsch lesen und ich dachte keinen besseren Weg als mit ein Buch für Kinder anzufangen!
Ich habe Der kleine Vampir gelesen wenn ich in Deutschland gelebt habe und da zur Schule ging und es ist wie eine Reise in der Vergangenheit jetzt als Erwachsene wieder zu lesen!

3'5 Estrellitas. Tenía mucha curiosidad por leer ésta novelilla desde hace bastante tiempo. Recuerdo de mi juventud la película de "El pequeño vampiro" y tenía ganas de leer la novela. Un reto literario me ha acercado a ella y esto es lo que me ha parecido.

Anton es un niño normal, algo tímido, pero no tiene muchos amigos. Hasta que un día se presenta en su ventana Rüdiger, un niño vampiro, que le descubrirá a Anton su mundo de vampiros

Rüdiger vive en una cripta bajo el cementerio con toda su familia, también vampiros, desde los más mayores, hasta los menores. Por el día duermen en sus ataúdes y por las noches salen de caza en busca de sangre.

Lo curioso es la amistad que se forja entre Anton y Rüdiger, que no podrían ser más distintos. Rüdiger visita a Anton cada noche que está solo, cuando sus padres salen a divertirse (sí, sí, salen todos los fines de semana y dejan a Anton con 9 años sólo en su casa). Hasta que los padres de Anton descubren su nueva amistad e insisten en que su hijo invite a casa a su nuevo amigo para conocerle ¿Pero cómo puede hacerlo si es un vampiro?

Sí, es un libro infantil, bastante curioso, pero tampoco me ha parecido gran cosa. Creo que la película me emocionó más cuando la vi. Si no me equivoco, "El pequeño vampiro" es una saga de libros, e imagino que la película se basó en todos ellos. Éste libro es parecido y cuenta lo fundamental, pero se me ha hecho bastante cortito y falto de aventuras, pero no cerraré las puertas a seguir leyendo alguno más.

So, I dug up my 1987 beat up copy and I'm rereading it. I had forgotten how cute this was. I want to have a vampire show up at my window and befriend me! It seems that 25 years have passed and I still have the same dream I did at 8. Sadly, it hasn't come true yet.

My favorite childhood series. Also, where my love of all things vampire was born at the tender age of 8. I still have the paperbacks of the whole series and I'll treasure them forever.

Los libros de El pequeño de vampiro forman gran parte de mi infancia. Todos y cada uno de ellos, me dio muy fuerte por ellos y los he leído todos muchísimas veces. Creo que son unos libros que me han condicionado mucho como persona desde que era niña.

Precisamente por eso, me pareció una muy buena idea comenzar el año nuevo releyendo este libro. De forma simbólica.

Soy incapaz de ser objetiva con él así que sencillamente diré que me encanta. Tanto o más que cuando era pequeña. Son historias muy cortitas, para leer en apenas hora y media. Los personajes son muy típicos, pero los libros son extremadamente divertidos y muy graciosos. Yo la verdad es que los disfruto mucho y me hacen reír incluso ahora. Tal vez especialmente más ahora.

First published when I was 11, no idea how old I was when I read it first. Probably around that age, as I graduated to „grown up“ books when I was around 13. Good fun, my first every vampire book!

Allá por el 94, la que escribe tenía ocho años y se pasaba las tardes arrastrando las rodillas sobre el suelo de la biblioteca y manoseando los lomos de los libros de Barco de Vapor que se correspondían con su edad. En algún momento, mientras ojeaba los libros de color naranja, la palabra «vampiro» se cruzó en mi camino. Fue mi primera saga, mi primera historia de vampiros y la primera vez que quise, de verdad, con todas mis fuerzas, ser la protagonista de la historia.

El pequeño vampiro es el primer libro de la saga creada por la autora alemana Angela Sommer-Bondenburg, que marcó a varias generaciones llenando los estantes de librerías y bibliotecas de todo el mundo con su terror infantil y juvenil.

Publicado por primera vez en Alemania, en 1979, no llegaría a traducirse al español hasta 1985 por Alfaguara (traducción de José Miguel Rodríguez Clemente), y no sería hasta diez años más tarde, cuando siendo yo una niña con la cabeza llena de rizos y tonterías, lo leería por primera vez.

Claro que ya había oído hablar de vampiros, estoy segura de haber visto alguno en televisión antes de aquel momento. Sabía que existían (en la ficción) y que no eran seres precisamente amigables, pero El pequeño vampiro abrió definitivamente la puerta de lo fantástico para mí. Recuerdo pasar las tardes leyendo uno tras otros los libros de la saga que sacaba de la biblioteca, mientras aprendía nuevas palabras y conceptos al mismo tiempo que deseaba con todas mis fuerzas que un vampiro llamase a la ventana de mi habitación cada noche antes de dormir.

El año pasado me compré el primer libro de la colección, una tercera edición de Loqueleo (proyecto editorial de ficción infantil y juvenil de Santillana). Leerlo otra vez ha sido una experiencia entrañable y curiosa. Según iba avanzando en la historia, recordaba algunas de mis reacciones cuando lo leí por primera vez. Me ha resultado interesante redescubrir personajes y lugares que ya conocía, pero que no recordaba hasta que los he vuelto a leer.

Lo encontré fomecillo y un poco triste, pero entiendo que sea grito y plata pata los pequeñajos (mucha lectura en español la semana pasada, jaja), que no piensan demasiado en lo terrible que sería realmente ser un vampiro y no poder crecer ni vivir una vida normal. O siquiera ver el sol.

Quizá me falte sentido de humor, jaja. O sentido de metáfora.

Lo único malo es que se nota demasiado que es el inicio de una saga, porque no pasa nada o casi nada, apenas introducir a los personajes. Aun así tiene sus partes chistosas, como esa de la invitación al té. Y los papás del prota son geniales.

Bueno para los niños, no tan bueno para los adultos. Pero está escrito para niños así que ok. Aun así he leído mejores (¡como los de Roald Dahl!).

Un libro infantil pero bastante entretenido, las diferencias entre un niño humano y otro vampiro son notables. Me ha gustado la manera de que Anton, El Niño humano, intenta, sabiendo las particularidades de la vida vampíricas, llevarlos a la vida mas cotidiana posible. Hay libros infantiles con moraleja o con un trasfondo más adulto, este lo he visto, simplemente, como un libro para niños.

I read this so many times I was young. So. Many. Times.

The illustrations are still charming and maybe the best part of the whole book? I remembered the illustrations long after I'd forgotten the story itself.

The story is cute, and I can see why it appealed to me when I was young. Tony, a 9-year-old boy, has a vampire (Rudolph) visit his window one night and they become friends. They go on late night adventures, including hanging out at the cemetery; with the help of a magical cape, Tony can fly with Rudolph; Rudolph's sister forms a crush on Tony; Tony's parents are very suspicious but ultimately too clueless to figure out what's going on, etc. But the writing itself is so-so. (And I don't think I feel that way just because I'm an adult who expects a different style of writing. I read enough children's books that I know what to expect and how to adjust myself to that mindset, and ultimately, good writing is good writing no matter what the format, what my age, etc.)

I think I'll read the second book in the series to make an ultimate decision on the Little Vampire series.

Inhalt: Anton liebt Gruselgeschichten und wenn sie von Vampiren handeln, umso besser. Eines Abends sitzt ein echter Vampir auf der Fensterbank seines Kinderzimmers. Nach dem ersten Schreck freunden sich Anton und der Vampirjunge Rüdiger an. Doch so nett Rüdiger und seine Schwester Anna sind, der Rest der Familie Schlotterstein ist doch ganz schön gefährlich.

Art des Buches: Kinderbuch

Wie fand ich das Buch? Ich hätte das Buch als Kind sehr gemocht. Welcher Gruselfan hätte nicht gerne einen Vampir zum Freund? Anton muss durch gefährliche und peinliche Situationen und ich konnte mir sehr gut vorstellen, wie meine Eltern auf solche Freunde reagiert hätten. Ganz entzückend finde ich die kleine Anna, die ein klein wenig in Anton verliebt ist, hübsche Geschichten erzählt und sich mit ‚Mufti eleganti‘ für Anton parfümiert.

Gab es etwas zum Nachdenken und/oder Nachforschen? Wohl eher nicht, aber ich mag die tolerante Einstellung der Eltern gegenüber den Vampirkindern.

Tiene más romance y terror que Crepúsculo en menos páginas.

La verdad es que es una gozada que un libro pueda darte nostalgia, risa, entretenimiento y conseguir que vuelvas a entender esos miedos pasados de cuando eres crío.

Es el inicio de una saga, por lo que es más bien una presentación. Las ilustraciones las tengo grabadas a fuego en la mente y dan mal rollete, pero son increíbles.

Cerita yang bersetting di Stuttgart ini adalah tentang persahabatan antara Anton yang baru berumur sekitar 11 tahun dengan Rudi dan Anna --kakak beradik yang ternyata adalah vampir yang dah berusia ratusan tahun. Namun karena mereka vampir, pertumbuhan mereka lambat sekali.

Beragam kisah mengasyikkan, agak seram, tapi lebih banyak yang menyenangkan ada dalam seri2 buku ini. Mulai dari terbang dengan jubah drakula, menyelinap di pesta drakula, hingga dikejar-kejar drakula haus darah. Bahkan tantangan sehari2 bagi Anton yang mendapatkan temen2nya adalah vampir yang beranjak dewasa, yang berarti kebutuhan mereka akan darah segar kian mendesak. Berhasilkah mereka dalam menjaga persahabatan mereka? Baca deh! Rasakan serunya bersembunyi dalam puri dibawah sinar purnama, atau saat terbang kala hujan? Atau saat bertemu Lumpi? atau Bibi Doris? Atau Nasar Nyamar? Bahkan Kus Endus..

I rarely reread books because I prefer to remember them the way they are. This is one of my fave books from my childhood and it must be like thirty years since I read it. But still I remembered every part of the story and the atmosphere.

It is about Anton who is home alone. When he goes back to his room, someone is sitting by the window, which is strange since he lives in an apartment complex. The figure is Rydiger (in the Norwegian edition they have changed his name from Rudiger to Rydiger) and he is a vampire. Even though he seems scary, they become friends.

After a few incidents, Anton's parents has noticed Anton has been acting strange lately. Is he hiding something from them? And will they ever believe he is friends wirh a vampire?

This is a witty and nostalgic read. Love the friendship between Anton and Rydiger. It is funny they come from very different worlds. And I also like how confused Anton's parents are about his new friend.

This is the first book in a series and a Norwegian publisher has reprinted the first two in the series. I hope they will reprint them all cause when I was a kid I only read five of them. They were hard to get because they were popular books back then and at that time I couldn't order books online like we do today. So hoping to collect every book in these series someday. Cause I still enjoyed the atmosphere and the story as a grown up.

This was one of my favourite books as a child when it came to Halloween. Just the thought of casually having a friend who was a vampire (and all that entails) was very exciting to me, and so reading about Tony and Rudolph was super fun and interesting.

Now, re-reading it after so many years, I can conclude that this is definitely a book written more for children than anyone older, because despite its intriguing premise, the story itself reads as very simplistic, with the simplest conversations and types of conflict making up most of the plot. The interactions between Tony and Rudolph (and Tony and Anna) are the best, but so far there's not really much of a high-stakes conflict introduced into the plot.

Someday, when I can get the sequels at a cheaper price than what I'm seeing online so far, I may go deeper into the story and see what happens. The main conflict for that is that this was originally written in German, so most of the books out there are likewise.

Still, a very fun story overall, and the illustrations are also wonderfully vintage! A yearly Halloween read, for sure!
