I really enjoyed this story. It was nice to read about Marcus’s early life. I think it helped give more meaning to his character. The book quickly grabbed my attention and kept me reading until I turned the last page. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

Marcus: Origins (Blood Prophecy) is a fun short introduction of the characters of the series.
Marcus is a young man estimated to be in his 20's to 30's and a clock maker feeling really down on his luck as something awful happened to him. The Beautiful Eliza a Vampire who is all she that she is described as comes apon Marcus offering to help him from his tormented life..
This Novella is beautifully written Miss Jones.. and she brings out the characters to be described as being real and witty in everything that they do as they go about the country side of Spain in the year of 1793... I loved the story line of what it had to offer... She brings you to the end and wanting more...

I'm not quite sure the reading order for these book, but with Marcus I read him after the second book in the Blood Prophecy series (Queen's Enemy). So getting a chance to go back and read about Marcus's beginning and where he fits in with the prophecy.
Yes, it's a bit more than just falling in love with a witch.
This one also gives us a bit more of an idea just how many more characters/pawns were in on getting to the point of bring on the prophecy that would connect all of the paranormal races (at least witches, werewolves, and vampires).

This was a fast read but it was meant to give us a bit of insight into why Marcus is the way he is. We get to see Marcus's early years and how he became a vampire. I really enjoyed Marcus's backstory and it helped give the other books a bit more perspective. I love this series and this book just gave us more of the past details to help us understand the way Marcus thinks!!

A short prequel that introduces this prophecy. It was hard for me to get into as I couldn’t really connect with any of the characters. They lacked the depth I needed to connect and feel for them.
I did enjoy the concept of this new paranormal prophecy and how it will come to be set in motion.

This book explains the beginning of marcus and how he became to be who he is and the role he plays in the prophecy. I enjoy reading books like this that give you an in depth background of a main character. I feel like this book gave me the ability to connect and understand Marcus' character more. This book was definitely a great addition to the prophecy series.

This novella was about Marcus and his origins. We learn about who turned him, why and where he fits in with the prophecy. The story was easy to follow although there were some choppy bits. I think that Barb Jones ended this at the perfect place to make readers want to know what happens next. Nice, short read with great characters.

This was my first book from this author and I enjoyed it. I have read a few vampire books and this one was also about a prophecy. We get to read about the beginning of Marcus life the first few years and find out about the prophecy. I feel like this book is good beginning to this series.

The story of Marcus was amazing. I couldn’t believe how Ms. Jones had taking such a used idea
of Vampires and turned it into a creative, and new idea. It captivated me from the very
beginning. I couldn’t stop reading. I kept going, before I knew it I was already at chapter six. So
awesome.
Marcus, wow he sounds like such a handsome creature of the night. The languages he speaks,
and how strong he is makes him very appealing as I read about him. In the beginning of his
change was steaming, not at all for anyone under the age of sixteen. I will tell that women will
fall for this character quick.
The story seems to unfold a little slowly. Marcus begins to know that he has a bigger purpose as
he travels away from Eliza and Kabos. Without giving too much away, there is a prophecy that
includes him and he must destroy everything in his path before he mellows down. Amazing story
line.
I can’t say that I found anything wrong or dissatisfying with this book. I absolutely like it. From
beginning to the end I was hooked on every line. My favorite line in the story was, ““Touch me
again,...., or command me, and I will hunt you down and kill you.” That is a true enemy line.
Barb Jones took her time and made excellent characters. I give your story a 5 star rating.
Amazing job!!!!

I was given the ARC for this book. This is a prequel to The Queens Prophecy and I was impressed how much there is about the life of Marcus. I did truly like that Barb wrote about Eliza, Marcus' maker. I truly enjoyed their story together. If anyone ever read any of my other reviews I do not give away any spoilers but I don't think there really are any. It is just the history of Marcus.
I wish I could of read this book first but it is still nice to hear the story about a main character in the story.
It was a good read. I would of finished faster but I was sick for a few days so I could not read.

This is part of the The Blood Prophecy series and it tells the beginnings of Marcus. This is basically a prequel. This tells how Marcus began with his life and how he ended up being what he was. He was born as a homeless man and wanted a better life but instead he ended up finding a vampire and being changed. Now he is in a brand new world with a vampire that he thinks he loves. Eventually they split up and Marcus goes on to figure out his life and end up where he did for The Blood Prophecy. It was nice to learn more about Marcus and who he was and what made him tick. This is a nice addition to he Blood Prophecy.
