Forward: 7 Distinguishing Marks for Future Leaders
Forward leaders are missing in action.
Where are they today? Leaders in the future must rise and lead people forward. They have to lead so high above the fray they will not stoop to littleness in their thinking and conduct. They have to lead so big, they will not settle for just leading a few. They have to lead so deep; they will not be tossed and turned as they ride the tumultuous waters of leadership. Author Ronnie Floyd is calling for a different kind of leader to rise up for the future.
Forward is about seven distinguishing marks for future leaders. Who are these future leaders? Anyone who leads anything in the future.
Forward is a call. Forward is a process. Forward is a direction. Forward is a change.

I struggled with this read. When you want to talk about forward thinking leaders and then reference your self as one that kind of seems cringy. Some good content nonetheless.

Terrible. This was really frustrating to read, I expected the book to be more about leadership than religion. Do not be fooled and don’t buy this book.

The information would have been better communicated in a blog.

It is my first time giving a 1-star rating to a book. It was, honestly speaking, the worst book I have ever read. If your title is 'Forward: 7 Distinguishing Marks for Future Leaders' then I'd expect for the book to speak more about leadership and critical thinking than the teaching of the Church. If I wanted to read about religion, I would have picked up the Bible for the hundredth time in my life. All you need is the introduction of the book. The following chapters are just paraphrased sections of the introduction with verses from the Bible as backing. It does not make any sense to me. Think cross-generational, he says, but he doesn't. It's hypocritical.
Also, to support his senseless argument, he uses quotations and anecdotes from people such as Paige Patterson who, not only doesn't have the best reputation after those rape allegations but in addition to that, is one of the most brainwashed individuals I have ever heard of and/or read about.
Do yourself a favor and pick up another book to read. And, if you can, take mine away from me and burn it, will you?

How can a book be both too short and too long? This would have made a good magazine article by taking the summary points at the end of each chapter, or could have been developed into a decent book. Instead, the author took the superficial, repetitive route. The points are ok, but the development of the points is lacking. Best for teens or a first leadership book for adults, but anyone who has read much in this genre will likely be disappointed.

Wow!!
There are no words to describe this but, wow! How life altering and heart changing! I loved how I began this journey not really knowing how I was meant to lead, but at the end, I now know that I have a path. Glory to God.

Not a bad read, just mostly recycled, clichéd material.
