Lo malo: • Algunos chistes son too much.
This manga is hilarious and the art is perfect for it - but some of the off-colour rape jokes and queerphobic jokes really detract from it. Also, rather weird how much men and boys in skirts are played off for laughs. And even more weird: how sexualized some of these jokes are considering the cast is 90% high schoolers.
Honestly, I'd have given it 4 stars if it wasn't for the bad jokes.
Apart from that, there's also the issue of the characters barely being rounded off. Literally, all we know about the love interest is that he has "scary" eyes (which feels a little prejudiced but let's move on), he's a scholarship student living on his own and he's been bullied in the past. This might be because the POV is that of a pretty naval-gazing rich kid - but still!
Moreover, the romance aspect is overdone. It's literally just the trope of the cute (maybe bullied) kid getting noticed and told by the other lead that they are beautiful and they live happily ever after. Even for a 2014 manga, it feels dated in that aspect.
When it comes to the art, I can see some jokes that if you love shoujo (and can stomach all the bad jokes), you'll probably love this.
The most missleading cover art I've ever across. I thought it would be angsty and dark and smutty! ((i mean look at cover art... the tension in the air is unbearable and real! how could this be a sho-ai?! LMAO)) And not only that, it's really silly ((—in a good way ofc!)), comedy-romance ((no, it's not a typo, it's intentional LOL)). Like, this manga was literally 80% comedy and 20% romance 🤡
Not a bad read but the jokes was not really my cup of tea... still, some of it kinda funny tho— 😂
2.3 Stopped in the middle of the 4th chapter... it was a little slow and dull, plus there warere just too many unimportant text to read in every page... it's a shame bc it was a cute premise with a cute art style
Had some legit funny moments but overall it was just braindead fluff. I enjoyed it as a quick stupid read though...nothing to get worked up about either way lol.
