I absolutely loved this one. Tallon and Abigail are so cute together!!

Loved the fake dating, the friendship and banter.
Reading about the characters from the other books is always a bonus as well.

Ash will always have a place in my heart! He is such an amazing best friend and you couldn't ask for a better one. Emily is such a sweetheart and a genuine person.

Watching Abigail's character become more confident and strong throughout the book has you cheering for her.

Some of the Tallon & Abigail moments have me giggling and kicking my feet. Once again, JL Skye has given us a story you just can't put down and become connected with.

5 star read for me!

I was lucky enough to be able to beta read Playing The Field so I will do an updated review on release day.

But this was absolute perfection. I am not a slow burn girl but JL definitely broke me on that, I fell so in love with Abigail, Tallon and their story and haven't stopped thinking about them since finishing.

I was not ready in the slightest to say goodbye to this series.

UPDATED REVIEW:
Cannot believe it is almost release day for the last book in the Beckford U series, Playing The Field by the lovely.

📖Playing The Field by JL Skye
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/♾️

I can honestly say I haven't been the same since beta reading this one. I fell so hard Tallon who gave so many green flag vibes and related so much with Abigail just adore them both so much with my whole heart.

Now I am not a slow burn girlie in the slightest but Jennah absolutely blew this one out of the water. The pacing was so incredibly perfect and I was so emotionally invested in their journies both separately and together that I didn't even notice the slow burn. It was a perfect fit for the story and everything they went through. The fake dating OMG such an elite trope that I hadn't actually read in awhile the Banter between these two was chefs kiss!

Playing The Field was a lot different to the rest of the series but was the absolute perfect addition and way to end out such an incredible series.
.
If you haven't seen my reaction video to finishing reading this then all I can say is that this gets an infinity star rating from me. I swear I fall more inlove with Jennah's writing with everything I get to experience through her books and writing.

As always, impeccable and well thought out and written mental health representation that feels so incredibly real. The found family was also everything!

I could honestly go on and on and ON about these characters and how beautiful they are.

So excited for what's next because I am already so obsessed with one of the MC's.

I highly reccomend picking this one up once it releases ❤️‍🩹

Playing the Field by JL Skye follows Abigail, a gentle, sweet and shy uni student studying to become a teacher and Tallon, a soon to become newly single soccer team heartthrob and the paths that lead them into a fake dating relationship.

*** Spoiler Incoming ***

JL tackles a new important topic that she has not touched on in previous novels within the series, but coincidently comes at a time when Aussie sports news headlines are filled with allegations of a similar nature.

Drink spiking is something most young women are mindful of when going out to clubs and pubs, but what happens when it happens in a space you are supposed to be safe, where previously you did feel safe. This happens to Abigail in Playing the Field and unfortunately I know the feeling and fallout too well having experienced something similar in my teens.

With each of the books in the Beckford U series, JL Skye has done a phenomenal job of helping people with different traumatic lived experiences feel seen, as well as showing positive representations of the friendships they deserve. With this powerful final installment to this series, I hope that every Abigail out there finds their Emily and I can't wait to find out what JL will be releasing next.

“I’ve fallen for the quiet strength she doesn’t seem to know she possesses beneath her reserved exterior”
The backstory of Abigail's solitary nature really hit me in my feels! I loved the banter and growing chemistry between Tallon and Abigail, and the ease of their falling for each other. I loved how delicate and gentle he was with her, the little check-ins and how he worked to really gain her trust.
I thought this was such a beautiful ending to the Beckford U Series, and although this particular world is finished, I cannot wait to read more books written by this amazing author!

Wow this book was just perfect.
This is the last book in the Beckford U series and it brought everything together perfectly.

Yes there is trauma in this story so remember to check your trigger but I found how it was written and how the FMC came through it was so well done.

The romance between the FMC and MMC is beautiful it starts off as an arrangement of fake dating and slowly they become friends and learn so much about each other. They compliment each other so well.

I highly recommend you read this series and this book.

Playing the field was an amazing end to this series, and yes I was crying at the end because it was just so beautifully wrapped up.

Fake dating, patience’s, friendship, bets and so much more. If you haven’t read JL Skye’s work then you need to, if you have then you know what to expect my her incredible writing.

JL has done it again with this amazing series. With this being the final book in the Beckord U series, I didn't want it to end. The heartache and angst as well as the tension between Tallon and Abigail was just spot on.

There are some heavy triggers in this book so defiantly check triggers before reading.

4.5 🌟 2.5 🌶️

Once again another Beckford U Soccer player has stolen my heart. Tallon Doyle you are the epitome of a book friend. Loyal. Protective. Funny. Thoughtful. Caring. Anyone who doesn’t fall Inlove with you is not in their right mind.

This story was soooo good! It was funny and sweet but also tackled some really important subjects in a way that was insightful and meaningful. What Abigail went through, it broke my heart but seeing Tallon and her friend Emily help her through it was really beautiful.
Honestly, Emily is the friend every girl needs. She was the absolute sweetest thing and one of my favorite side characters ever.

This was actually my first Fake Dating read and I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it! I loved the banter & the flirting, it all had me laughing so much and so hard. And the friendships between Tallon and his teammates and Abigail and her new friends was so lovely. There is so much love and support and understanding there, I was living for it.

I particularly loved the epilogue which was a FANTASTIC conclusion to the series. Even though it makes me sad that this is the end, I’m always excited to see what Jenna is working on next. And the fact that a few of the boys could be getting their own standalone stories is even more exciting!!
