A fable, dripping with gold and uttered from the lips of a dying man sets four friends off on the adventure of a lifetime. The last remnant of an age lost to myth calls from the very cusp of Hell as the dangers rise with the heat of the tropics and they are plunged into the unfathomable depths of the Amazon where they will struggle for survival in an ancient city born of blood, lust and betrayal. With the whispers of a dead man echoing promises of power, wealth and desire, their path to paradise is laid out in the bones of those who learned too late what is waiting beyond the mist of time.
James Fuller has enjoyed the fine art of writing for many years now, he's currently in the process of bringing out his new up and coming fantasy novel: Fall Of The King, the first book in which he hopes to be a series of nine books. James has also written movie scripts, short stories, and has had numerous pieces of poetry published. Through the years he has acquired quite a large fan base for his ...fiction not only through his blog and other various social networking websites such as Facebook but with other writers and artists of all sorts. James' other personal projects also include a comic series for mature readers; a tale of love, loss and vengeance which ignites in amazing emotion as James hopes to bring his character and story to life (collaborating with an artist.)
James has an absolute passion for bringing characters and situations to life with his detailed writing skills that really brings his books to life and makes his characters and their journeys so favourable. As an author he also goes above and beyond when it comes to writing battle scenes, the intricate design and explanations of fighting, not only in swordplay but also in tactics is one of James incredible expertise in which he delights in.
When James isn't on his computer writing his 2nd book of his fantasy series (Salvas) or writing short stories he enjoys recreational activities such a camping, fishing, hiking, and archery. Along with being an adventurous outdoors man James also spends many of his hours in a day as a devoted husband and father.
Luxuria is a Jumanji style adventure filled with danger, magic, and of course, sex.
Fuller has created a fun cast of characters that are easy to love. We follow them as they explore some ancient ruins on their vacation, but what they find is much more than any of them were bargaining for.
Narrated by Brittney A for the audible version, this was a great story to listen to. She is an amazing voice for the characters, and she was great at reading the steamy scenes as well.
Overall, this was a super enjoyable read and I would recommend it to any fans of erotica!
*I was given a free copy of this audiobook by the author and this is my honest, voluntary review.*
Full disclosure. I got this for free on Amazon after one of the groups I follow on Facebook raved about it. I had high expectations...
I was sorely mislead.
Considering it's only about 119 pages long, the amount of tiny, easily fixable and rather obvious typos, grammar and spelling mistakes was irritating. I started to list them but got bored of it at about 57% through so I stopped. The things found could very easily be picked up by a spellcheck, so I'm not sure what (if any) editing has been done on this.
The storyline was sound enough, it could easily have been turned away from the erotic and turned into an Indiana Jones style adventure story, it would have needed a lot more detail put into the characters and the background as well as the would building, but it could have been done. I think it would have been better.
The sexy stuff was passable, it seemed rushed and rather plain despite the varying levels of kink involved. It read like a male's fantasy, not something a woman would write (I think there'd be more sensory information if a woman wrote it) and really was fairly two dimensional. If you want to try something erotic, don't let this be your first taste or you will likely be disappointed.
In terms of enjoyment, it wasn't too bad. I think the pacing was quick enough to keep me reading, though character development was really set on the back burner. If you want a quick read for titillation that has a reasonable storyline and plot, give Luxuria a try. It might be your thing.
Things I noticed:
21% - 'Don't use it unless I tell you too (to)' 32% - '...thier (their) shapes and features damaged...' 33% - '"It's turn (turned) into a real...' 33% - '"Let's just hope is (it) has a good ending...' 33% - '"Also the only one who seems to thinking worrying about it is going to solve anything."' - WTF!? 57% - '...loyalty so they (that) we could serve...'
Luxuria is an easy to read book with a good balance of erotic and adventure scenes. Author James Fuller creates a wild story – in more ways than one!
With the whispers of a dead man echoing promises of power, wealth and desire, the path of four friends to paradise is laid out in the bones of those who learned too late what is waiting beyond the mist of time.
I listened to this book via Audible, so the feelings I have about this book are also based on the job done by the narrator. I enjoyed the plot of this book. I am not a big adventure book reader but this book covered all the bases of the adventure movies I enjoy. The epic adventure the characters wanted definitely was represented in the plot! The fantasy elements were all there as well. Lot’s of magic and mayhem. There was a great balance of sex and plot so that’s always good.
As for the characters, the narrator does try to use different voices for each character but they aren’t perfect. So this starts my issues with the characters. I didn’t have an issue with them overall, but they were hard to get comfortable with because the men’s voices seemed so similar. I had to develop my relationships with each character by trying to analyze their behavior. For instance, the male characters were definitely written to have differing personalities: the playboy, the smart one, the other guy, but during the reading I had to really focus to differentiate them and that’s not something I want to focus on with an audiobook.
I thought the world building in this story was okay. Fuller described the settings that really needed to be described but also left some things to our imaginations. I could indeed “see” every setting within the story. Setting aside, the biggest and best part of the world is the mythology. I loved the idea of the ancient history of the location and the women who were “working hard” to get it back to it’s glory. The plotting and planning they did to get everyone to do their bidding was clever and I appreciate their smarts and willingness to do anything for it.
This brings me to the end of the story. Before reading, I did research the book which inevitably means running to reviews. I have to say although I don’t totally agree with other reviewers, but I did need a little bit more in the ending. Everything was going well, things were falling into place, but the ending just kinda flattened out. It was a good, closed circle, coming back around from the beginning, but what was missing was a definite, tight closure by way of just one or two more sentences to completely tie it back to the beginning. Without giving away too much, one more bit of dialogue that mirrored the start of the story was missing that would have sealed the deal for me.
Overall, I can’t complain about this story! Had I read it as an eBook I think I may have been more attached to the characters, but I thought it was well done and I would recommend it to a friend.
My first book by James fuller and I really enjoyed it. It was a fairly quick read that was packed full of adventure! I will avoid spoilers as best I can here. It follows 4 friends, 3 male/ 1 female, on their vacation in the amazon. They are a very likable group of people who simply want to find a fun adventure to remember. Boy do they find it! Then embark on a journey through the jungle with a guide looking for some ancient ruins said to have treasures and more! What starts out so promising, turns into a bit of a nightmare. They are forced to overcome some life and death situations. Have some seriously hot sexual encounters with 3 very beautiful women. Even have a few rounds within their own ranks! With promises of healing, fortune and eternal life..... they begin to turn on each other. Definitely a good read that will make you second guess any group trips to the Amazon!
Luxuria by James Fuller is very well written, loaded with tension, unpredictable and erotic. Four friends take a trip to the Amazon looking for adventure. Two of them find a dying man with a warning and a map to ruins and riches. Then they find a guide who takes them deep into the jungle and deserts them in the night. They stumble on the city and more excitement, suspense and danger than they could ever have anticipated. One reviewer stated that it was like Indiana Jones (with a group) meets erotica and I couldn’t have said it better. Just when I thought I knew how it would end, the author throws in some unforeseen twists and turns. An excellent read!
Since when do erotic books have a plot and other scenes besides sex?? Not many but this one had so much more!! Adventure, mystery and very HOT sex scenes.
This book combines fantasy/mystery/sex all in one great plot! The characters were so life like that I felt like I was right there with them! There where a couple times when I thought I knew what was going to happen and was surprised it went into a different direction, I loved it! I love being surprised during a book and it's keeping my attention all the way through it.
The sex scenes....OMG! Hot,Steamy,Sexy! I needed a cigarette and a drink afterwards because it was just that damn good. This book keeps you guessing and gives you a story that you just don't want to put down. I had to know what was going to happen and that's why I kept turning the page after page.
I can't wait to read more from this author in the future!! Wish all erotic books affected me like this one did..
Review time! I received Luxuria as a free ebook download off amazon. I have read a few eroticas in my lineup and I love the ones that have an actual plot line, not just random sex scenes stuck together. James Fuller has done a spectacular job of creating a detailed and darkly exciting story. Four friends on an exciting trip out in the world on daddy's dime, the friends are partying and having their fun in various countries. One night they stumble upon a man who opens up a new adventure for them, one full of mystery, sex, and dark secrets! James Fuller spares no details on the sex scenes. They aren't all lets see how many words we can find for body parts. It's straight forward and worked beautifully into the story as part the extensive plot. If you like dark twists and a not so happy ending with lots of sex and great characters then Luxuria is the erotica for you!! 5 out of 5 stars for Luxuria by James Fuller it's Hawt!!!
A group of friends decide to go on an adventure. Drinking and partying town to town, on one of the friends dime, they have a great time. When rumors filter to the group about gold, treasure and many untold treasures out in the forest. They decide an adventure is in order. The group gets way more than ever bargained. The adventure is full of sexual surprises, danger, and a paranormal mystery that will keep you turning the pages.
I can across this book on my author group page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/JBRau...). This is a book for adults only. It has tons of sexual situations, M/F, F,F,M, F,F. The story line keeps you going through to the end. The friendship are challenged through the story and you wonder which friendship are going to make it. Good read, cool story unexpected ending. Very nice! free book for free review. juliesbookreview.blogspot.com
What would you do if you could everything you imagined. If you could have immortality, riches beyond your imagination and all your sexual fantasies realized. Would you do it? But at what cost? Is there a price that is too high? Like many I admit to being skeptical about an erotic book written by a guy but I was thoroughly impressed with this gem. Its a blend of erotica/fantasy with a hint of an Indiana Jones like Adventure. Yes the erotic component was obviously written for the men in the story (hey sorry but there was no sex god for the only girl in the group!) Regardless of that the erotic scenes are very well written, hot and steamy, tasteful not trashy, and both men and women will enjoy reading them. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
I liked it...it wasn't super my thing, a bit scary/bloody for me, but a good book. I liked the plentiful and varied sexy scenes (can you say hot d*** chains and whipping scene!?!), but I didn't super connect with the characters and I personally prefer a good hero story. Like I said, not my thing, but a good read with an erotic temple of doom feel. I love that the author went a different way from most erotic stories...the same old thing can get boring and he certainly gave me something original!
For Adult readers only! If you like erotica, stories full of sex scenes than this is for you. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I don’t mind a couple sex scenes to enhance a story but this book was definitely mostly about the sex. I would have loved to see more of the story line without as much X rated scenes. Parts of the story, mainly beginning and the end were a bit confusing as well. Not impressed with this story at all.
This is my 2nd read from James Fuller and even tho it was different then Broken Shards of a Masterpiece it did not disappoint. I am so glad that I found this author and read some of his work. He will be one that I keep my eye open for more of his work. He will be my dark break from the regular girly books I read.
Was definitely an interesting read. This is the first book I had read from this author and I wasn't sure what to expect. I enjoyed it. Totally different and in a good way. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. Great read!
Loved this story. I was so not expecting that ending, even right up to the last pages. It was really well written. The action scenes meshed with the heat from the love scenes. It was awesome. I could not put it down!
Good for spank material, but I didn't really enjoy the story outside of the sex scenes. At least, there were plenty of those, and not all of them were strictly vanilla, either!
