My new billionaire boss has literally turned my life upside down in less than a month. What's worse is he appears to relish the fact.
Not only is he incredibly good looking, in a panty-melting-book-boyfriend-way, but he's worth more than most countries and has a reputation around the office as a lover of rock star status.
So why would he be interested in a curvy girl whose entire sexual existence was limited to an awkward, drunken screw in her sophomore year? I have no idea, but he is, and it's making my life a living hell.
Because of his pursuit, I now find myself in the midst of cat fights I didn't start, office backstabbing I can't seem to stop and jealous innuendo from my female coworkers the likes of which I've never encountered.
Inexperienced though I may be, I'm not stupid. And he's not subtle. Every chance he gets, he dares me and tempts me to resist his advances in spite of the risk it poses to my fledgling career.
There's only one problem... I'm not so sure I can any longer.

I've really grown to enjoy books in serial format lately, so when I read the blurb for Slipperless, I thought that it would be good book for me.
Fiona has been taking care of her grandmother since she has been sick and this has put her in major debt. Getting a job was necessary. She just didn't expect to have a boss like Gabe.
Gabe is a very hot man, and his female employees definitely notice that. He's been known to have flings with employees in the past and that only makes them more eager when he comes around to check on them.
One thing that irritated me was the way that Fiona's co-workers treated her. They saw Gabe give her attention and they surrounded her like vultures. Fiona isn't one for confrontation so it made it harder to read as she sat there and didn't do anything as it happened.
This first installment started off slow for me and it was kind of hard to stay focused on it. The pace picked up a lot by the end and now I am ready to get to reading the second installment. I liked Slipperless, Part One and I think it was a good start to the series, but I really hope it continues to pick up the pace in the next one. ~ Leah, 3.5 stars
I received a copy of this book directly from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was a promising start to a brand new series. Billionaire romances are hot right now, and this author is definitely one to check out if you're a fan of the subgenre. All the elements are here; it's hard not to be a bit predictable with certain plot points, but I wasn't bothered by it in the least. It's comforting at times to be able to check items off of a list while reading: the ridiculously good-looking, richer than God himself alpha male, the meek, socially inept heroine who doesn't see her own attractiveness, an awkward first meeting, and loads of sexual tension from there on out.
But instead of being formulaic, the author has crafted one heck of a backstory for our heroine, Fiona. We learn why she is the way she is, always thinking of others instead of herself, putting their needs above her own. And we actually have a strong, intelligent female lead, someone who is way smarter than most heroines in erotic romance. A good majority of the set up here involves Fiona being at work and doing her job while there, not getting googly-eyed and fawning all over her newest man candy find. How refreshing.
And then there's Gabe, our hero. I took to him right away. Sure, he's got a bit of an ego, but I would imagine anyone with that much going for him would. I didn't find his cockiness heavy-handed, like I'm apt to do in other books. And the chapters from his POV weren't filled with cursing, like some authors tend to portray men. In this book, we don't get to see much insight on what makes him tick, but I'm fully expecting it in subsequent installments.
Some might complain that for a series with "erotic" in the subtitle, there isn't a whole lot of steam throughout. There is a lot of setting the scene, and a fair amount of humor. There were a couple of moments that were nearly laugh-out-loud funny for me, and I definitely appreciated that. This author has a way with words, and some of these turns of phrase were remarkably witty. And for the erotic naysayers, check out the scene at the end, which is a sign of very, very good things to come.
I'm anxious to continue on and see what happens with these two.
Gabe Hawkins was used to getting any women he wanted. The young woman sitting next to him was so intrigued he wanted to get to know her but it was hard to do while sitting at the bar of the restaurant where he was waiting for his friends. Throughout the dinner he kept looking at her, there was something about her but she was not his type.
Fiona Matthews was a young intelligent woman with issues of her own. She was not beautiful, or skinny or social girl there was but she had to escape her problems at least for a little while. Between her grandmother's illness and all the financial problems she was praying she landed the job of her dreams.
Gabe and Fiona's never in a million years realized their lives would change and they would be spending more time together than what expected. But will they be ready for the changes their new journey they fixing to start?
A Billionaire and a Scientist, never in my wildest imagination would I had thought reading about this two, but this story will blow your mind. The combination of chemistry, lust, jealousy, and sexual tension are some of the ingredients in this amazing story.
Gabe and Fiona are the new power couple to watch for, you don't want to miss their journey. I guarantee you it will have you hooked from page one.
The books are very poorly written. That may seem like a harsh first sentence but it is true. It is impossible to connect with the characters in this book. The H is selfish, arrogant, and cruel. He does something's in the book that are just rude and mean. If this is meant to be a romance novel there is barely any of that at all, just sex between two people who know nothing about each other. The h is crying and apologizing all the time. To top it off she is such a weak character it is irritating. She has ZERO backbone, she is a coward and spineless and let's the hero walk all over her. Because these books were free with my kindle unlimited, I am only upset I wasted time reading all until the beginning of the fourth book in which I was done. I don't care to continue this serial because it's just that bad. Read at your own risk.
Gabe and Fiona met at a bar. She didn't really want anything to do with him and not because she didn't find him attractive but she's kind of shy and a little socially awkward. Who knew he'd end up being the CEO of the company she was applying for a job at. Now some of her coworkers are saying she's getting special treatment from the boss. Is she?
This is the first book in Sloan Storm's Slipperless series and I'm definitely loving it. It's well-written and the characters are diverse with their own special charming personalities. I'm definitely looking forward to reading book 2.
Fiona has a sad past and is trying to just do the best she can for her grandmother. She needs to get a good job so that she can care for her and get rid of her debt. She lands the job of her dreams but does not expect her boss, Gabe, to have any interest in her. Fiona is used to hiding in the shadows and not being the center of attention. Gabe senses she has security issues but wants to help her work through them because he can tell she is a brilliant young woman and he might have his own agenda as well! This is a great introduction book to what I am sure will be an amazing series!!
I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I feel sorry for Fiona. The struggles she went and is still going through. Helping her grandmother is her priority. Landing her dream job couldn't have come at a better time. Meeting Gabe could also be a turning point for her as well. I can't stand how Amanda and Melissa were towards Fiona and hope Fiona grows a backbone and puts them in their place. I can't wait for more interaction with Fiona and Gabe.
This is book one in a series. It's not a standalone.
Fiona has so much pressure on her to succeed in this interview. She needs this job. The night before the interview she meets Gabe. He's a billionaire and normally gets what he wants. Why does he want Fiona? She's not his normal type!
Great start to this series. I'm really looking forward to reading more. Glad we don't have to wait too long before the next book is out.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Nicely written start to what is looking to be a great series. Fiona is struggling to keep her dream job and her life together while being distracted by the handsome stranger at the bar.
After reading Sloan’s first serial Never Never Man I have to admit I was intrigued to see what she did next – I mean that serial was so good my expectations were pretty high. But not only were my expectations matched, they were exceeded. WOW – this book! If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would!
Fiona is just an average girl, although through her eyes she’s less than average. She’s a curvy, intelligent blonde who is a perfect example of a girl whose always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Surrounded by beautiful friends who are never without a man, she’s used to being second best. Coupled with the devastating hand life has handed her she’s constantly feeling shy, awkward and unsure of herself.
When she lands an interview for her dream job at a leading science and technology company she’s over the moon – so much so she actually agrees to a celebratory drink with her friends. Waiting at the bar for them to arrive she’s minding her own business when a handsome stranger starts talking to her. Confused as to why this drop dead gorgeous guy is paying any attention to her, she keeps her guard up and sighs in relief when he leaves her alone. But she can’t shake the way he made her feel, the way he looked at her, spoke to her….despite the fact he was arrogant jerk.
With her interview ahead she tries to forget her handsome stranger and focus on her future. And when she lands the job she couldn’t be happier – not only does she get the chance to do something she loves but she also gets to work for Gabe Hawkins’ thriving company. So imagine her horror when she discovers her new boss is the arrogant guy from the bar.
Now faced with starting a new job with not only the pressure of performing well but also resisting her boss’ advances, she doesn’t need any more stress. Gabe’s skills in the bedroom are no secret in the office and he doesn’t hide his lust for Fiona. With jealous women making her dream job a nightmare she tries her best to keep her head down and ignore Mr Hawkins’ advances….but how long will she be able to resist him?
ARGH THIS BOOK! I have most definitely fallen head over heels for these characters. Fiona is such a relatable heroine whose character you can’t help but love. She’s faced many struggles and still has many to come which I can’t wait to read all about! And the boss – Mr Gabe Hawkins? Oh boy. He’s the arrogant jerk you can’t help but lose your panties over. Bad mouthed, determined and sexy as hell he isn’t someone who takes no for an answer – Fiona doesn’t stand a chance! A great storyline which I’m so excited to watch unfold – and what an ending! I can hardly wait for more of Gabe Hawkins and the rest of the serial! A definite MUST READ!
Many thanks to Sloan Storm, who provided this reader a free copy of Slipperless in exchange for an honest review.
This is Sloan’s eagerly awaited new serial series. After her success with the Never Never Man series, her readers have been chomping at the bit for her next tale of billionaire love.
Fiona is waiting for her friends in a bar when she is approached by a handsome stranger who tries to strike up a conversation with her. “Tries” is the key word there: Fiona is painfully shy and socially awkward. She doesn’t have much experience with men, and the little that she has had has taught her that there is always an angle, or a trick. You can almost feel her tension vibrating off of the page. She’s also described as curvy, and thinks of herself as “not the girl that gets the guy”. She’s defensive, and Gabe has his work cut out for him just to talk to her. Their discussion is more of a battle than a flirtation, and they eventually part with Gabe amused and Fiona flustered.
Fiona lands her dream job, working in the lab at Hawkins Biotech. Imagine her surprise when she runs into Gabe again - He’s the CEO of the company. He is just as surprised to see her, and his interest has not diminished one bit. For Gabe, it’s game on.
I liked Fiona. Her story has its sad points: her only family left is her grandmother, who has been battling cancer off and on for years. Fiona has sacrificed everything to care for her, and is up to her ears in medical bills. Fiona is good hearted to a fault. She has been done wrong before, and while she is wary and distrusting of men, she is also entirely too trusting of other women. She soon finds out that not everyone is who they seems to be in the cutthroat world of the lab. Sometimes she’s just a bit too clueless, and you want to throw your arm around her shoulders and guide her.
Gabe adopts a “eyes on, hands off” approach when it comes to Fiona, even though that is the last thing he wants to do. I like his character as well. He’s confident and commanding, but doesn’t come off as downright arrogant. He could be accused of being cocky, but like the Kid Rock song says: it ain’t bragging if you can back it up. He gives Fiona a chance to rise up the ladder on her own merit, then sits back and watches her make her own way to him. It’s slow going, drawing her out of her shell bit by bit, but I am looking forward to watching how she grows into herself throughout this series.
Slipperless 1 by Sloan Storm is the first in a 5 part serial also titled Slipperless. This is the story of Fiona and Gabe. It is a romance of sorts but there's more meat to the story than just the meet-cute and the sex. Don't get me wrong, there is a meet-cute that is, for lack of a better word - cute - and there is sex. Steamy, grabby, intense sex. but that isn't the point of the story.
Fiona is an incredibly intelligent, socially awkward, curvy woman. Orphaned just prior to her teenage years she was then raised by her grandmother who is now on the losing end of a life-long struggle with cancer. The debt Fiona is racking up in medical expenses is threatening to bury her but the new job she just landed may help keep her afloat while she slowly pays her debts.
Gabe is a man who always gets what he wants. What he wants are usually women with no strings and no expectations. What he finds in Fiona is more than he ever anticipated desiring. When she turns out to be the new person in the lab he finds himself excited to have a chance to get to know her better.
The chemistry between these two sizzles off the pages and right into your lap. Fiona is sensible but female and even her sensible brain cannot ignore Gabe's sexy... well, sexy EVERYTHING, but he's making her life hell in the lab and she doesn't know how much more she can take before she cracks.
sloan storm writes an amazing story. this is only part one of this series and it was amazing. I'm this story we meet Fiona and Gabe in a bar. they have both taken up residence at the bar waiting for the rest of their friends to get there. Fiona is celebrating a big interview she has landed for the next day. Fiona is the quiet, shy, afraid of her own shadow type. she tries not to talk to Gabe while at the bar but he keeps interacting with her. thankfully for her his friends show up and he leaves her at the bar awaiting her friends. in the next few days Fiona has her interview running into Gabe in the same elevator as she makes her way to it. then after getting the job finds out he's the CEO.
the chemistry between them is crazy hot. Fiona tries her damnedest to hide the attraction she has for him and for the most part she does but her face and flushing seem to give her away all to easily. only at the job for a short time she's already having issues with jealousy from other female Co workers over absolutely nothing Gabe knows what he wants and what he wants is Fiona. this honestly shocks him as well as confuses him. he knows she has some issues but he's unsure of what just knows that she always turns into herself all of the times. (timid comes to mind) so he knows he must tread lightly with her.
this is a must read new series. the endi BFF of this one isn't a horrible CH where your like what's next what's going on I need more noe. well I mean it leaves you wanting more and knowing more of what's to come next for fiona, for Gabe as well as for the both of them. is there even a them to begin with? I can't wait to see what else is brought into this story and where sloan takes it from here.
Well well! Ladies take a seat because a new-ish, or maybe not, author is in town and taking the crown for erotic serial romances. I dig these type of books as they build so much fire and suspense that captivates you as the series progresses. And this series.... HOT HOT HOT! I love it so far. It is sexy, sweet, sinfully delicious, naughty, tempting, intense, and edgy. When I started this series, it grabbed me and reeled me in. And as each book passes, the steam and suspense build making me crave the answers and the happy ending I am hoping for.
This is book one in this new hot series. In this book, we meet Fiona and Gabe. Fiona is struggling emotionally and financially. She is in a ton of debt trying to take care of her ailing grandma so when a job opportunity arise, she knows she has to take it and do whatever necessary, even if that means dealing with things she never has before. In walks Gabe, her boss who makes her body come alive and tingle. Both have a connection. Both want each other. You know what they say about playing with fire.. you eventually get burned. Get ready as Fiona and Gabe take us on the ride of our lives.
I like Gabe and Fiona together. They have tons of chemistry and fire between them. The sparks fly when they are around each other and even others can tell. And between the sheets, really minus any sheets as these two are adventurous, they are crazy explosive. Gabe is a mixture of sex and sin. He is totally bad but feels oh so good. And Fiona, I can relate to her hard so she is someone I can totally admire. I am loving the bits of confidence that I am rooting for these two though I foresee tons of obstacles along the way. I am chomping at the bit for the next installment.
I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next!
Received a copy from the author for an honest review...
This is the first book in Sloan Storms new series and I have to say I have loved watching her writing grow and progress into fantastical reads. I can not be more proud to say that I was allowed to read this book and leave a review, it was an amazing read that ends in a cliff hanger and will leave you wanting more and more of Gabe and Fiona, good thing its not a long wait between release days.
The story in this book is very well written and well developed and the plot is fast paced, and I find the story very believable to happen in the real world. The main characters in this book are the super hot and sexy Gabe and Fiona who is the shy and quiet type whom I think in the next couple of books is going to come into her own.
In this book we see Fiona at the bar waiting for her friends when she meets Gabe there waiting for his friends and after a while of innocent flirting both of their parties of friends arrive and the go their separate ways, but not without a few stolen glances between them, looking away when one catches the other one looking. All so very innocent. In this book we will see Fiona interview for a job which she ends up getting and is beyond the moon excited about as she in debt up the ying yang due to her grandmothers medical bills. In this book we will learn that her boss, the man who owns the company is Gabe, oh what could be wrong with that???? Will they cross the line between employee/employer?????
OMG Sloan hurry up and send me book two, I need it like yesterday.
Truly engaging and almost like a modern fairy tale, this story is equally serious and fun. Gabe and Fiona might be opposites, but both are interesting characters who are driven and likeable.
I loved their interactions, when they meet at the bar and when they have to share a common goal for the company. all the time, it seemed like it could have happened in real life. They have priorities over their connection, be they family or money or work. Still, the undercurrent of need is ever present, pulsing until it explodes in an incredible ending that left me panting, groaning with satisfaction and yelling "at last!".
They had it coming, but the truth is that it felt well-earned because their relationship had grown around the plot and the lustful scene deserved its glorious moment after everything else.
I liked the lively dialogues full of each other's personality, Fiona's reserved behaviour that stems from a very hard life, and Gabe's single-mindedness on his work that made him less of a player and more dignified.
The writing style is really good, with double POV and a serious tone when it came to the business situations, yet quite balanced as the more emotional scenes played out with funny or unexpected circumstances. I'm very curious about the future of this couple and how Fiona will cope with all the stress that's mounting in her life as well as about the company's projects. I truly hope their spark evolves into a romance, so I'll be patiently waiting for part two. First reviewed on Literaria http://sede-literaria.blogspot.com
Fiona is focussed to the point of OCD. She has experienced a hard and devistating life and she just wants to get her dream job. Gabe is the CEO of his company and he can get any woman into his bed he wants. The meet at a bar and his charm doesn't work on her, not to mention she's not his usual "type". Once they realise they're working together, her having gotten her dream job at his firm and him as her boss, things become difficult for her and intense for him.
Fiona is an introvert, she is so innocent of the ways that woman can be catty and how to deal with it. It is frustrating and makes me feel sorry for her. She's already battling so much in her life and with office politics added makes her life that much harder. With the added attention from Gabe that she really not used to from guys she's living in a world she just isn't used to.
Gabe is a male who is used to getting attention for woman both married and single, so when Fiona acts unsure and suddenly turn up in his workplace. Not to mention his undeniable and unexplainable attraction to her he knows he has to pursue her. He's a womaniser of epic proportions and knows the effect her has on woman. I think his redeeming feature in this whole book is that he's protective of her and won't rush her, but he also wants to help her grow and come out of her shell.
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
Another great story for Author Sloan Storm. Fiona is desperately looking for a job to help pay for her grandma's cancer treatments and the mountains of debt she has already accumulated. Grandma is the only family she has and Fiona is terrified of losing her to cancer. Fiona, who has already graduated from university is called for an interview at a research company and she gets the job! To her surprise, the owner of the company is the sweet talker from the bar last night.
"I swallowed hare as I looked at him. Raw excitement, verging on fear, sent blood racing through my veins as I struggled to focus."
Gabe is intrigued by Fiona's youth and innocence, and drawn to her sexually. This story is about how she tries to avoid his advances and to hide her true feelings from him and her nosey coworkers.
"What I wanted to do to her didn't involve words unless grunting was considered a language. Speaking was the last thing on my mind all of a sudden. Because in that instant, I wanted to grab her, throw her down on the conference room table, spread her legs and ...Easy Gabe. Easy bud. Of course, I didn't." Excellent writing, the characters are interesting and likeable and I enjoyed a few laughs as I read it as well.
The book was gifted by the author for an honest review.
I was given a copy of this book for a honest review.....
Fiona believes she is just an average woman who is always a bridesmaid never a bride, her friends always have men around and it makes her feel like a third wheel. She painfully social awkward and doesn't understand when a gorgeous man comes up to her in a bar and "tries" to hit on her. She doesn't realize that he is interested so she rebuffs his effort. When she goes on an interview and lands her dream job she never imagined that her boss is none other than the man she rebuffed at the bar, sexy Gabe Hawkins. Gabe is a legend in the social circles as an incredible lover and he has sent his sights on Fiona. When jealous in the office cause Fiona to question her choice in taking the job she tries to keep it all together and that includes her legs. But what Gabe wants Gabe gets. How long will these two play cat and mouse? This is a five part series and so of course we get a cliffhanger. The good news is that each book will be released within two weeks of each other so we won't have long to wait. With that being said I want book two now!!!!
GAIL’S REVIEW ***ARC given for a honest review*** If I could give this 10 Stars I would Oh holy shit.. Sloan you have sooooo done it again.. I absolutely fricken LOVED this book.. I loved Gabe & Fiona .. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.. Gabe is a super duper sexy billionaire.. Fiona is a beautiful curvy super smart scientist. Fiona is at a bar waiting for her friends so they can celebrate her landing a HUGE interview with a company she has dreamed of working for.. Gabe is there waiting for some friends for dinner and drinks.. Gabe notices her.. try's to talk to her.. Fiona doesn’t understand why.. I mean why would this beautiful man want to talk to her.. ? She's just your average girl.. desperately trying to make ends meet.. taking care of her very ill grandmother.. What happens when Fiona goes to her interview.. sees the super sexy guy from the night before? What happens when she finds out HE IS HER NEW BOSS........? I love ya Sloan... I love your writing.. I love your mind.. Thank you Thank You Thank You!!!
This ARC was given to me for free by Sloan Storm:Slipperless(#1) in return for my Honest review. AWESOME! TOTALY! AWESOME! OMG! I LOVED IT! (sqweeel!) I was in thrawled as I started this read ....HOT! HOT! HOT! The chemistry between these two characters... Argh! From page one my attention was grabbed as two strangers at the bar collide.... Gabe rude and arrogant tries to grab the attention of one shy, young intelligent socially awkward girl named Fiona while they both wait for their friends. The banter between them makes me laugh and smile. OMG! Soon after the meet again as she goes for an interview ; the place she has wanted to be in the last ten years She has had a sad life, lose of her family and stress of her g-mas' illnesses. New coworkers acting like high schoolers, sabotaging her labs and a chance of a promotion that would help pay for medical bills. That one hot scene in the office! OMG! What a cliffhanger! I can't wait for the next book! Definitely a must read! Sloan Storm! your definitely Rockin' hard! thanks
I received this ARC for my honest review. This review contains spoilers !!! Ok so this is my first review so here goes.... Loved the story line. Gabe is definitely an alpha male and likes to show it. Fiona is unconfident and insecure, which is fine as she has had a lot to deal with in her life thus far, but would like to see her become more confident as it could get very annoying if she continued this way. I felt the chemistry between Gabe and Fiona could have been better, he seemed to really want her but it was like she had no clue he was interested. The ending of this book was a little to rushed there was no sexual content as such then wham this unconfident shy girl is masterbating in her lab when she sees the camera and thinks she is going to be fired then gets called to Gabes office and ends up having great passionate sex after saying she wanted to leave as she felt uncomfortable..... That for me was a bit far fetched. I am looking forward to seeing how this unfolds for Gabe and Fiona but also with the co workers that are giving her a hard time.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was given this book for my honest review by the author
This is the 1st in this brand new series by this author.
Gabe is a sexy, hot and delectable man that can drop a woman’s panties with one glance. He knows this but when coming upon a woman in a bar he has a hard time coming to terms that maybe his glances are just not on the rise as they always are.
Fiona is a woman with a hard past. She is cute, sexy and spunky with a shyness that will have you saying AWE but with her family life in a bit of a hardship this woman is less than spunky till she catches ones eye but will that eye be for the best or for the worst?
This is their journey.
To the author: I hate giving this 4 star rating at this time but at the same cost I want to let you know that my final review when this series is done will reflect the over all rating for this series. This is just the beginning of their journey so stay tuned all.
Did I mention the sex part? Hmmm not saying right now…woohoo
Sloan Stormhas done it again! I loved the Never Never Man Series and I can tell that Slipperless is going to be just as good.
This book is about the hot, sexy billionaire Gabe who meets the curvy, beautiful Fiona in a bar and he can't keeps his eyes off her. Fiona is the same but she doesn't have a lot of self confidence so she is not believing that he could be attracted to her. Little does Fiona know that the company that has landed the job with is none other than Gabe's company.
Gabe wants her and Fiona is scared. It also doesn't help that she is getting bullied by a couple of jealous girls in the lab.
What will happen between Gabe and Fiona? Will they get together or will Fiona's lack of self confidence get in the way?
I can't wait to read the next books and see what is in store for these two.
I swear this authors writing grows more each time. Fiona is a beautiful young woman who has honestly had a horrible life. She is not confident in herself and doesn't really understand how to stand up for herself. I found Gabe intriguing and hot as could be. I love the attention he gives her but also trying to teach her. She's so vulnerable it's truly a great story I can't wait to read more from this series. These two characters are completely opposite but they have this connection. What I loved even more is Fiona doesn't understand how gorgeous she is. She is not used to getting attention from men but the girl has curves which to me is awesome. Makes the character more realistic. Thank you to the author for allowing me to review the book for an honest review. Reviewing for Night and Day book blog http://ndbbr2014.com Stephanie Powell
OMG what can I say for Slipperless you have Gabe who is a CEO of a company. Then you have Fiona who has had a shit load of stuff that happen to her in her life and all you want to do is feel bad for her but she is a strong women just not sure she sees it for herself. She applies for a job and gets it thanks this well help her and her grandmother but her feelings for the CEO causes problems with her collages but Gabe has other plans and he goes for what he wants and right know he wants Fiona. Well she let herself go or well she stay in her little cove and do her job. This was an awesome book cannot wait tell book two I give this a five star rating even though I don’t do that very often because of cliffhangers but this one had a lot I even cried in parts. You will love this book so go ahead and one click it.
I loved the way our heroine, Fiona, is a no-nonsense, logical, analytical scientist that doesn't realize her own exterior beauty. Gabe, our hero, on the other hand, is confident, handsome, dominant who always gets what he wants and he wants Fiona. They meet at a bar the night before Fiona's big interview. She is so awkward around men that she refutes Gabe's advances.
Fiona is hired and starts working at her dream job only to find out that Gabe owns the company. Enter in high school drama and jealousy from female co-workers and Fiona has anxiety. Her backstory is heartbreaking. Hopefully, we'll learn more about it in the next installment.
I enjoyed the flirting and bantering between the characters. I look forward to reading the next novella.
A five star review for a relatable couple. How many times have women thought themselves ordinary or just plain, not believing what men continuously tell us? That, is Fiona. Fiona has suffered great loss and barely copes with her current daily troubles, wanting to simply be heard, listened and see her grandmother fight for her life. Enters Gabe, self made billionaire for a pharmaceutical company that was intrigued by Fiona since the first moment he met her, never knowing that she was applying to work in his lab. Their chemistry is undeniable and their relationship is riddled with obstacles. And now that Fiona lands a new position within weeks of working with Gabe's company augmenting the number of times the two meet, they must learn what is more important: the company or their sizzling relationship.
***I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so much more than I expected - for once the heroine is portrayed as a real life woman and not some picture perfect model with great hair and even better ass! Fiona is smart and funny and curvy! She doesn't see her true worth as a beautiful woman but her new boss Gabe seems more than willing to show her! This author is very descriptive in her writing which makes it easy to visualize the story and believe me you will want a visual in your head of the last chapter!! Holy shit that was one of the hottest scenes I have read in a long while! I am anxiously awaiting Part 2 of this series because I just have to know what happens next with Fiona and Gabe!!
