Young Hailie is bored, bored with life in general. Endlessly looking for a purpose in life, her place in the universe. She knows there's more out there than working 9-5 and paying bills. She never imagined going on one job interview would change everything and open doors she never knew existed.

I'm currently working on the sequel, and I have additional books and ideas in the works as well. My first book absolutely had to be a vampire book, but I am also working on serial killer, ghost and other horror works.

Hailie is a young girl just kind of going through life without any focus. That is until she meets her mentor, Alexander, and enters the world of vampires. Hailie is new to the vampire world and has a lot to learn. She has a tendency to blow up as she struggles with what she wants and what she's allowed to do, which is how it should be for someone who is a newly formed vampire.
This book brings some refreshing novelty to the vampire genre. There is the usual enhanced powers, sensitivity to light, and the spilling of a lot of blood. However, there is also a human side to these vampires. There is constant thought to what can be done for humans instead of against them, which was nice.
Overall, I found this book to be highly enjoyable. Alexander is by far my favorite character but Hailie and Dominik are interesting characters as well. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the vampire sub-genre.

Spoiler free to protect a great story. A wonderful start to an intriguing series. Hallie starts off as a typical young girl, and gets created into a vampire.
Nothing new or special about that? Wrong.
Hallie thinks this is wonderful! Young, beautiful, strong. Forever. What could possibly be so bad about that?
Plenty.
As the story continues, the struggles get deeper, the mysteries get cloudier, and the emotion gets heavier. All is not as it seems, and not only does Hallie have to fight to survive, she just might have to help find a cure for a disease long thought gone. Lives depend on her, but as luck would have it, she depends just as much on those lives. Is she a monster? Is she a savior? Read it and find out...

Such a GREAT book!!!
I was captivated from the first chapter. Hailie has been made into a vampire and is taken under the wings of two vampires and taught the ways of her new world.
This new world of hers keeps throwing curveballs and she needs to fight for what is right for herself, her family, and the world.
Zoey Emerson has hit her first book out of the park. I was riveted all the way to the end and I cannot wait for the next book!!
