Maternal is not the word which comes to mind when discussing Xandra. Regardless, a baby is left on her doorstep with a note claiming she is the only one who can keep her safe. That may be true, but only if Xandra is able to defend herself against the baby's unusual magic.

Loves:

1. People who read my books.

2. My children. (Please don’t tell my kids I listed fans before them. You may cause a riot in my home. They’re pretty feisty kids.)

3. My cats and dogs when they’re not making me sniffle, sneeze, rub my eyes or irritating my asthma. (Scratch that, they always do and I love them anyway.)

4. Writing. (I would have listed this first, but it would have looked bad. Worse than putting fans before my kids.)

5. Good friends. (Fortunately, I have several.)

6. Quiet evenings at home in front of the fireplace reading a good book. (Please, like that’s going to happen with five kids in the house - but I can dream can’t I?)

7. I got stuck here so I asked a couple of friends to tell me their fondest memory of me. This is what I got:

Deb: It was when you used to babysit Michael and rode the horse in Meijer so he could ride with you. Also......my first trip to TX for a wedding. You were at my house and said you would put my clothes in the dryer when they were done. Needless to say, the next morning I had to pack wet clothes in my suitcase. The airline lost my luggage for 4 days so when I finally got it back, my clothes were all mildewed. (Okay, in my defense – I was twelve at the time. The sad thing is, I still forget to put clothes in the dryer.)

Michele: I have too many…but one of the first that popped in my head was how you drove all the way to Chicago to look at my apartment for me because I was too hung over, and then gave me all the details so I could pretend I was there. You are a good friend... (It was only a seven hour round trip. What are friends for?)

Joe: A particular Domino’s pizza delivery and you invited the delivery guy inside…(I’m going to stop there because my ex-husband thinks he’s funny.)

For obvious reasons, I didn’t ask anyone else.

Hates:

1. Puppies, kittens, babies, sunshine, peace on earth, goodwill, recycling, education, gifts, and sweets of any kind. (Really, I do.)

2. Being facetious. (I would never dream of it!)

3. People who don’t read my books. (Well, maybe not all of them. But, most of them.)

4. People who always manage to stop by the house when I look terrible. (You know who you are…)

5. Lumberjacks. (Don’t know why, just do.)

Now that you know everything about me, you should drop by my Facebook page to tell me all about you.

I love the Witch Fairy series!!! I’ve been following the series since the first book, True of Blood was published in 2011 and the series has only gotten better since then. Each book is filled with great characters, funny dialogue, magical elements, romance and adventure. And this book was no exception!

The surprise at the end makes me so so so excited for the next book!

Another fun Witch Fairy adventure :)
This one had a cute baby Elf.. I didn't expect the ending at all! The writing is improving as these books go forward, and I'm always up for more adventures!

What doesn’t make sense to me... is that Xandra mentions sealing portals to the Elf realm earlier in the book and Kallen and them all shut her down about it.
But then towards the end of the book she’s like “oh I got a super idea that will work” type of Epiphany and they’re all like “yeah do that”. 🙄

.+++++ A journey that has enriched my reading experiences and reaffirms the joy of possibilities yet to be realized.

I have enjoyed the series, watching Xandra grow up and mature. That is work in process but given her substantial and myriad gifts from so many realms she has been given such tremendous responsibilities, and it logically takes time to learn to appreciate and to honor these gifts. I have also enjoyed reading the depths of Kallen's love. Their love is a joy to read. The character development is excellent. All of the characters stand on their own with interest and fullness that makes their separate and collective journey an enjoyable reading experience. Be sure to write a book which reflects the fullness of their journey, a responsible and mature understanding of Xandra's gifts, and which tells a story of the richness of their grown up lives and experiences. An end that lets us know their lives will always be filled with adventure, love, wonder and the ability to appreciate the differences in the many sentient beings they encounter while recognizing the sameness that binds us all.

I randomly chose this book, the first page just grad my attention, I slowly read it word for word. It graded my attention. It really is a good book, I wished I read the all the series before I read this one. It was funny and well written. I would recommend it to order people who likes paranormal stories. It kept me on my toes, trying to figure out who is the bad guy, but in the end it was quite satisfactory.

Witch Fairy series still going strong

I have watched these characters grow since the very beginning, and I will continue as long as the series goes on. I gotta say being able to make 14 books (and probably many more to come) with the same characters is amazing. You have to be a pretty awesome writer to be able to do that

Another Good Book

I really enjoy this series!! This book doesn't disappoint and really keeps your interest. I like the character, as they all add to the story line, and help keep the story moving. I really hope Ms Lamer will continue writing about The Witch Fairies.....

Enjoyable and fun read with Xandra always getting into trouble and never a dull minute. While this is a long series and the books do become predictable at times, they are still entertaining and a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Good story. Xandra showed some growth here and now I'm curious how she'll be as a mom.
