Amanda has loved romance since she read that very first Kathleen E. Woodiwiss novel at fifteen. After a long detour into a career as a costume designer in theatre, she’s found her way back to romance, this time as a writer.

A native Floridian, Amanda transplanted to New York City many years ago and now considers Brooklyn home, along with her husband, daughter, two cats, and nowhere near enough space.

I somehow stumbled upon this in my amazon feed, tried the sample, and was intrigued. I just devoured this collection of 3 short stories, all of which are centered on the same flight to Mexico, but with three very different journeys. I think my favorite was the first one, The Friendly Skies. I absolutely adored the authors writing voice and how she told each story. It held my interest and had me wanting more! I'm such a sucker for reading about those intense connections between the MCs, and here you not only read it you also felt it as well. I cannot wait to read more from this new author.

The formalism of this set of 3 loosely linked novellas really appealed to me: 3 romances that start when the same flight is diverted, with a mix of tropes and narrative perspectives. (The couples don't interact at all, but some of them glimpse each other.) I really liked the first two (and I was surprised at how well enemies-to-lovers worked at such a short length). The last one didn't land – sorry not sorry – quite as well for me, mostly because the time scale felt too short for the characters' emotional journeys. I also wished one of the characters hadn't used "pale" as if it had a positive connotation.

Rep notes: all 3 couples seem to be white/cis/het. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone sensitive to portrayals of alcohol use.

If you need three short and hot novellas in the same book, read this one ! Between the 3, my favorite is the second one but it's mostly because I'm a sucker for the ennemies to lovers trope.

What a delightful read this was. Three lovely stories about travels gone awry and ending in the best way possible; with some loving. All the stories involve couples on the same flight to Mexico which gets turned around due to the eruption of a volcano.

I'd already read the first story in this book but I re-read it and it was just as wonderful the second time around. Simon is just delicious and I can understand Cassie's reluctance to get involved with him, but I loved the way Simon gently wooed her. Oh the wooing!

The second story, Blame It On The Rum, was cute. Jesse and Sydney were made for each other, they just didn't realise it until they were stuck on a plane together. There's nothing like a bit of mile-high shmexin to help you see the light.

My favourite story, however, was the last one, Take The Money And Run. World-weary & cynical investigative reporter Garrett meets wide-eyed optimist Meg. She's moving to Mexico to be with her new fiance, whom she met on the internet, but hasn't yet met in person. Naturally Garrett's not nearly as convinced as Meg that it's the real thing. From there it's quite the adventure the two of them have. I loved Garrett! He was just unffffff! I wanted to be Meg. I wanted to be the one breaking down his walls and melting that cynical heart. I had all of the swoons.

And this is exactly why I read romances. For that vicarious enjoyment and this collection of stories delivers exactly that. Definitely worth a read.

This is a new author for me. The book was on sale and the premise sounded fun, a problem with a flight leads to the plane being detoured back to its starting airport. Three stories about various passengers ensue. This is a perfect summer/beach read. I liked each story better than the last with the final one being my favorite. All three were enjoyable and I would definitely read more by this author.

I swear Amanda Weaver writes the best kisses. Have mercy! It's worth buying the book just for those.

I love this idea, and all three stories were great. Clever, sweet and romantic, but not too fluffy. I think Take the Money and Run may be my favorite, but it's a close call. Can't wait to read more from her in the near future!

I gave it four stars, and not three, just because I liked the last story so much! It was the best one in my opinion. I'd love to see it expanded into a novel, not just a story. Waiting patiently for that ;)
