“An explosively sexy start to the Motor City Royals series” from the author of the Billion $ Bastards Trilogy (Heroes & Heartbreakers).

Born into a family whose wealth grew from the seedy world of big-time crime, Ezekiel “Zee” Chase ran away as a teenager and made a home for himself on the streets of Detroit. By day, the mechanic works at a local garage. But by night, he throws down with the best of them in Detroit’s gritty underground fighting scene. With all those muscles, he’s never had trouble with women—until he meets one who challenges him to the greatest fight of his life . . .

Tamara Eliot is a hardworking corporate high-flyer who appreciates the finer things in life. More than anything, though, she likes to be in control—and when Zee explodes into her life, she feels anything but. He’s the definition of a bad boy: brash, fiery, and of course, irresistibly hot. And there’s a darkness about him that keeps her coming back for more. As Zee takes Tamara deeper into a world she never knew existed, she just might prove to be the one opponent he won’t be able to dominate—at least not without some pleasurable convincing . . .

Jackie has been writing fiction since she was eleven years old. Mild mannered fantasy/SF/pseudo-literary writer by day, obsessive romance writer by night, she used to balance her writing with the more serious job of librarianship until a chance meeting with another romance writer prompted her to throw off the shackles of her day job and devote herself to the true love of her heart – writing romance. She particularly likes to write dark, emotional stories with alpha heroes who've just got the world to their liking only to have it blown wide apart by their kick-ass heroines.

She lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband, the inimitable Dr Jax, two kids, two cats and some guppies (possibly dead guppies by the time you read this). When she's not torturing alpha males and their stroppy heroines, she can be found drinking chocolate martinis, reading anything she can lay her hands on, posting random crap on her blog, or being forced to go mountain biking with her husband.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance My Review Updated Ezekiel "Zee" was born into a crime boss family, but it was not a life he ever wanted and when his father murdered his girlfriend when he was only a teenager, he disappeared from his fathers life and made a life for himself setting up a gym and center to self defense for the community. He has worked hard to move on from his past to be worthy of a memory of a girl that held his heart and believed in him but lost her life in the process. Tamara does everything that her rich parents expect of her including dating a man she doesn't care about and expect her to marry. But when Tamara goes with a friend to a self defense class, and comes face to face with the formidable and sexy instructor Zee. Sparks fly between these two and the chemistry is fiery hot, but they soon realize how right they are for each other.

This was a story I was looking forward to, I really liked the blurb and was excited to see what this author would do with the story. This story is pretty high in sexual content, and even though this is Jackie's style, I was skimming quite a bit because I felt it overshadowed the actual love story that is going on here. There is a form of cheating that I also had issues with. Now Tamara was in a relationship with someone else, and even though eventually we learn it isn't a fully committed relationship but the first little while I struggled with this aspect of the story. What I did like was seeing the other aspects of the plot though. With the danger of Zee's father and the friendships of Zee's friends. It was quite fun to see their commaderie, and close ties to each other. But Overall I liked this story and loved seeing these two connect on a deeper level. Hot and stimulating!!!

Dirty For Me is the first story in Jackie Ashenden’s new Motor City Royals series, set on the gritty streets of Detroit. Zee escaped from his corrupt father, adopted his current name, and set out to support himself by picking up the mechanics trade. He works at a garage now with colleagues he calls his family, runs his own gym, and at night he expresses his frustrations by engaging in no-holds-barred underground fighting. He definitely doesn’t run in the same circles as Tamara who shows up with a friend taking one of his self defense classes – one of the rich women who’ve heard about the tattooed hottie and his lessons.

While Tamara watches the class from the sidelines in her expensive clothing and clutching her designer purse, she can’t take her eyes off the rough, dangerous instructor. And when her friend heads off with her new classmates to a local bar, Tamara insists that she can get herself home – though on the streets looking forlornly for a cab she looks like a lamb being led to slaughter. Zee knows he should stay away but he can’t help it – he’s drawn to her like a moth to a flame even though she’s exactly the kind of woman he’s vowed to stay away from. Offering her a ride home, Tamara accepts and the sparks between them turn into an inferno, resulting in the best fuck of her life in the back seat of his car. Shaken out of her complacent life, Tamara returns to Zee for more of the passion he’s shown her. She’s only got a few short weeks before her controlling parents have her locked up tight in a relationship with a man they’ve chosen, one who fits their high society lifestyle. Zee and Tamara both have secrets in their past that have affected their paths – can they overcome them and build a new future together?

If you’ve never read a Jackie Ashenden book before–and really, if you have–and if sexual tension in a romance is your thing, you are in for a treat. She skillfully weaves intense plots with enough drama and sexual situations to make for the kind of story that is difficult to put down once you start. From the moment Zee and Tamara lock eyes with each other, you know they are going to be in for a rough and sexy ride. There is no preamble, no “getting to know you” conversation before that first encounter in the back of Zee’s car. It’s pure unadulterated lust, but the best kind. From that point on it’s not a question of if, but when they will see each other again. It’s a talented author who can take a seemingly hopeless situation and give us a happy and satisfactory ending when all is said and done.

Zee’s background is one of wealth, power and corruption. His father is a businessman who dabbles in as much illegal activities as legal ones, and throws his weight around in physical and financial ways. He wanted his son to follow in his footsteps, and when Zee got involved with a naïve and innocent young woman as a teenager, his father took care of things his way. The death of the woman he loved in a deliberate car accident was the impetus for Zee to run away, shedding his real name and anything to do with his father along the way. He’d made his way to a teen drop in center and become friends with Gideon, Levi, Zoe and Rachel, and ended up working with Gideon when he opened his auto garage on Royal Road. He has plans now to expand the gym he started, getting his own teen program up and running, teaching martial arts and self defense classes. It’s a far cry from his upbringing but he’s happy there and loyal to his friends. Pretty little rich girls aren’t for him though, reminding him too much of the girl he lost and the mistakes of his past.

Tamara is following the road her parents have set out for her. A tragic event in her past resulted in the loss of her brother and her guilt over what happened has set her on a permanent path of atonement. They’ve found a suitable man for her in New York, and while up to this point Tamara was faithful to him, she suspected he had other women on the side, a fact he confirms in a phone call. It’s a relationship of convenience (on his side, not hers), but there is no love lost between them. When Tamara’s father spills the news that her mother and Robert (the ‘boyfriend’) are planning a surprise engagement party, Tamara can feel the trap closing in on her, but doesn’t know how to escape it. She’s working as an intern at her father’s company with a manager who clearly despises the fact that she’s the big boss’s daughter and goes out of his way to make her miserable. She can’t afford to lose the job and disappoint her parents yet again. Her night with Zee was the first time she’d felt free, that she could let go of the tight control she’s kept on her life since her brother died. She wants that feeling again. She’s desperate for it again. And if it means she has to seek Zee out and offer herself up to him, she’s ready and willing to do it, if he’ll have her.

It soon becomes apparent to both Zee and Tamara that the shields they’ve put up to ward off any intimacy are cracking. Sharing their emotions and thoughts wasn’t supposed to be part of the plan but it happens and they quickly find that it’s not only sex they want from each other. But Zee’s father isn’t finished with him yet, and the second half of the story is intense and action packed as Zee and Tamara work to find a way to free themselves from their pasts. There is also a set up for the next story in the series, as Zee’s friend Levi is set to be released from prison and clearly he and Rachel have a past to deal with. The streets of Detroit are a perfect backdrop for this gritty and intense romance. If you like bad boy heroes and opposites attract stories with a healthy dose of super steamy scenes and a compelling and action packed plot, Dirty For Me is for you.

Lots of dirty sex, dirty talking, emotional angst, great friends, parents who need smacked upside the head. Zee and Tamara's chemistry was off the charts the whole way through, but they were both so moody about their pasts. The ending felt a little rushed and too much HEA too quick.

I look forward to meeting Levi in the next book and see what happens with Rachel.

I don’t know why I was so harsh when I reviewed this the first time. I listened again and I was relatively happy with it.

Tamara (rich girl, unhappy) is attending a self-defense class with her friend, but she only wants to be a spectator – until she sees the sexy as fock guy teaching the class. Zee (cage fighter, mechanic, son of mobster) doesn’t like pretty little rich girls in his Detroit neighborhood, especially if they’re just there to hang out in his gym. Tamara is being coerced by her parents to marry someone rich and in their social class in order to repay them for a death they hold her responsible for. Zee is running from the thug life his father is involved in. Plus, his father has already proven what he’ll do to anyone Zee loves. What happens when he gives her a ride home?? Some hot mofo sex in the backseat of his car. Damn. 💣 💥

The first time I listened, I thought it was boring. It is definitely repetitive. She repeats the same objections for both characters over and over again. Tamara feels like she doesn’t deserve a good life and she owes her parents – therefore she can’t be with Zee. Zee blames himself for what his father has done in the past and he’s afraid it’ll happen again – therefore he can’t have Tamara.

I thought that when we reached the end and addressed the two big reasons they were fighting their relationship, it was a little disappointing. It def could have been done with more finesse and bigger bangs. I also didn’t like that there was a serious lack of the “L” word.

Then the author does this thing that I'm not sure how to describe. She compares everything. Like:
It was like waves crashing on the shore
It was like thunder in a storm
It was like lightning in her body
It was like drops of rain on a desert
etc etc etc
It was all through the book. It was bad enough that I noticed it and wrote about it.

The sex these two have is really hot. I mean if you’re into a lot of sex (which I definitely am) then you won’t be disappointed with this one.

I upped my rating from 3 to a 4.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington books for the ARC in return for an honest review.

2 stars, not because it was bad, but just because it wasn’t my kind of book and I just couldn’t get into it.

I got really intrigued by reading the description and the little excerpt on Netgalley. I thought I had found my next fix. Sadly enough it didn’t really turn out that way. It wasn’t that the writing was bad, because it honestly wasn’t. I did find the little italic inner thoughts a bit annoying at times tho, I could have done without them. There was too much inner dialogue and that held the story back, at least for me.

I think I was expecting more of a romantic story, but it was a little bit more edgy and a whole lot more rough. Not really my cup of tea. Tho the writer does a great job and I’m sure this story will appeal to many others, it just didn’t really appeal to me.

'Zee' is the typical bad boy from the wrong part of town, yet on the inside he means well. His thoughts suggest he’s one of the good guys, but his actions don’t really confirm that. To me he came a little bit across like a caveman. I’m guessing this is not the way the writer intended it, but it’s how I perceived him. “I don’t give a shit about your boyfriend. Do you want me to fuck you? Yes or No?” Erm… yeah, I didn’t really know how to deal with that bluntness. Especially in the beginning he is like this, near the end he turns out quite okay.

Tamara is a different story. After a tragedy so many years ago, she feels like she owes it to her parents to obey their every whim. One of them is dating Robert and more. Yeah, I don’t get it why she puts up with it for so long. I understand the circumstances and stuff, but still. It did make for quite a fantastic ending though. And oh, did I tell yet I really dislike her boss Scott, what a total d*ck. To understand why, you’ll need to pick up the book.

If you like hot, rough sex scenes with a story beneath it all, you will most likely enjoy or even love this story. It definitely has potential, but it just wasn’t for me. I can’t give it more than 2 stars when I don’t ‘feel’ the story. Yet I do think this story is probably worth more stars. So I’m sure there is an audience for this kind of book. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

After this said, I must admit that I would really like to read the 2nd book in this series. I got really intrigued by the characters of Rachel and Levi and will probably pick up this book just to find out how things progress. The little excerpt at the end of this book, really makes me want to read it. I hope I will like that book better.

I can't finish. 31% DNF

I can't find anything redeeming about Tamara. I can't stand what she is doing and how she uses people, how she wants to fulfill her fantasies before she marries a man that doesn't love her and she doesn't love him just because her parents tell her. Then to have a conversation with her "finance" that yeah let's get as much sex as we can till we get married then we will be faithful....ok then you get all slutted up and go ask the stranger you had sex with a day ago to give you more sex till you get married. REALLY!

Zee is hot but arrogance can be taken a tad too far. His dirty talking isn't a turn on it is degrading. I guess that is what Tamara wants and his characterization of a rich girl who wants to slum is so true!

I found the side characters a tad more interesting, but I just can't push through. I suppose that they will fall in love and everything will be perfect, but I am sorry I can't get past the terrible character flaws to enjoy. I am sure others will love it. I. Can't.

I really enjoyed this one. It's an erotic romance with the couple's relationship starting as a one-night stand that neither can end. About midway through, I thought to myself how I was enjoying it a lot, even if there was almost no romance. That was the interesting thing about the book; the romance slowly creeps up on you without you noticing. It was so natural how they slowly opened up to each other and told each other their secrets.

Do these two have things to talk about besides their secrets, dark pasts, and sex? That's debatable, but I was willing to suspend disbelief and enjoy their sexual relationship.

I know it sounds like a cliché to have sex on the hood of a car, but no one actually does it, and I only remember reading it in Sin for Me, also by this author, so it's not a cliché at all; rather, it was quite hot and exciting.

I just happened to see this book in my local library. I had read Sin for Me back in April and enjoyed it. Now I want to read all the remaining books in the series.

I was surprised that the heroine, Tamara, was my age (23), but it made sense with her being an intern. Her situation reminded me a bit of myself, going through a path she didn't want but one her parents wanted for her. But no way in hell would I date someone just because my parents wanted me too. I'm glad she finally took her life in her own hands. I think after being with Zee, she would never have been happy being married to someone she didn't love, her boyfriend Robert, and working a thankless job at her father's company.

I liked how she wasn't a virgin, though it did make me feel leagues behind her sexually.

Ugh, why don't I have a bad-boy shelf? It also would have been nice to have known Zee's age, but maybe I missed that somehow. All I knew was that he was older than 17, lol.

Oh, wait, I think he was 27...

DIRTY FOR ME is a good story with flawed, gritty, complex characters. I can’t say I liked Zee or Tamara but it that didn’t stop me from getting into their story and rooting for them. Their chemistry is unwanted but hot. Neither is looking for the other but they can’t seem to stop themselves. I liked the tension that added to the story. Their relationship is dysfunction but that very trait leads to interesting situations and interactions and has the reader hoping Zee and Tamara find their way. These two each need someone who understands and cares for them. The tender moments each offers the other are particularly heartwarming.

There was a lot of additional tension from the situations both find themselves in with their vastly different, but equally flawed, parents. I think this could have been explored even more. The resolution to their problems was OK but a little too easy. I’m skeptical that Zee’s threat against his dad would keep Joshua Chase away from his son or Tamara permanently. And how do we know that Tamara’s threat would hold any weight on behalf of her parents? She’s assuming her father isn’t in cahoots with the elder Chase or that Chase isn’t blackmailing him.

I can recommend this book and I’ll look forwarding to reading other Ashenden books.

From the epically drool-worthy pic on the cover to the very last sentence Ashenden had me completely captivated. From hard core fights to dark and dangerous men, this novel has it all; right along with a healthy dose of extra steamy chemistry and sex scenes that both add to the story and make the pages sizzle. This is all backed up by vibrant descriptions that allow you to both see and feel your surroundings. This is writing that really engages your senses.

The hard core characters really pop in this novel. The aura of both danger and safety that surround Zee had me drooling and glued to the pages. The hardness emanating from him makes it all even more tantalizing. At the same time, the hints of vulnerability make him oh so very real. Tamara’s ability to bend yet to stand up for herself were remarkable. I simultaneously felt for her and wanted to cheer her on through her journey of self discovery.

This was an earth quaking, soul shattering start to a series that I can’t get enough of. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

#1 in the Motor City Royals romance/erotica series

Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I know when I pick up an Ashenden book that I'll become absorbed in the characters and the story, enjoying lots of hot scenes. This one was no exception. My only criticism is that perhaps she spent a little too much time on the hot scenes and not enough time building a little more background into her characters. Although I found them very attractive, I didn't feel I really got to know them in a more well-rounded manner. I would have liked more backstory about their work (especially Zee's work with troubled teens), their friends, and their reasons for their choices (especially Tamara's leanings away from her wealthy family). And the over-the-top statement by Zee at the end seemed out of character and felt a little rushed. But, it was still a winner and I continue to be a fan of this author.

This was fantastic! Worst cover in the fucking world though. This story deserves such better packaging. The characters were great, the chemistry was undeniable, the writing was great, the plot and conflicts were fantastic. I wish we'd seen more of the garage and the fights though. Those are two of my favourite romance tropes and I feel like their presence was lacking a bit. But like it was still great? So I guess I'm gonna have to get the other books in the series? I need to know what happens to Gideon and Zoe and Rachel and Levi. I just gotta.

••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.5 stars---DIRTY FOR ME is the first installment in Jackie Ashenden’s contemporary, adult MOTOR CITY ROYALS erotic, romance series. This is bad boy mechanic/MMA fighter Ezekiel ‘Zee’ Chase, and corporate intern Tamara Lennox’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Zee and Tamara) DIRTY FOR ME focuses on the building relationship between two broken souls-Ezekiel ‘Zee’ Chase born into a Detroit crime family where his father rules with an iron fist; and Tamara Lennox- a privileged young woman whose own past is riddled with a dark family secret. When Tamara accompanies her best friend to a late night, self-defense class for woman, in one of the seediest neighborhoods of Detroit, our heroine finds herself immediately attracted to the instructor-a tattooed, bad boy named Zee Chase whose attraction to Tamara is equally as strong and palpable. What ensues is a relationship based solely on $ex that looks deeper into the past of both of our story line characters. Tamara is about accept a marriage proposal from a man she does not love to pay a debt she owes her family; and Zee’s past comes back physically demanding a return to the family fold.

The relationship between Tamara and Zee is initially based only on $ex. Tamara wants to forget about her past and her potential future; and Zee is an MMA fighter who has his pick of any woman but Tamara has locked onto his heart and soul. The $ex scenes are graphic, aggressive and intense but I did not feel the emotional connection between the couple-they both wanted $ex and Tamara continued to return night after night in the hopes of more from Zee Chase. Zee struggles with his emotions and is reluctant to show even a softer version of himself fearing to let go would mean dropping his defenses against the outside world.

There are a number of secondary and supporting characters including all of Zee’s coworkers at the local garage: garage owner Gideon, tattoo artist Rachel , and mechanic Zoe-all former street kids who have banded together as a family. A fifth member of their rag-tag family -Levi -is currently in prison awaiting early release-Levi and Rachel’s story will be told next in Wrong For Me. We are introduced to Tamara’s best friend Rose and our heroine’s soon to be fiancé/ex-fiance Robert, as well as Tamara’s boss Scott who is trying to make Tamara’s life as miserable as possible. Tamara’s parents claim to want the best for their daughter but Tamara is being forced into an impossible situation. Zee’s corrupt father Joshua forces his son to make a choice- a choice between friendship or blood.

The world building focuses on dysfunctional family dynamics, dark secrets, betrayal and revenge. The conflict between Zee and his father ended rather abruptly and without too much angst or aggression which under the circumstance would have ended differently in the real world. I would like to see more of Zee and Tamara in a future story line as our heroine has rejected her previous life for a man whose own life is dangerous and dark. The premise is entertaining; the characters are colorful and animated; the romance is sexually graphic and, at times, almost needy in emotion and temperament. Some readers may take exception to the heroine’s ‘cheating’ on a man she does not love.

Told from dual points of view, Dirty For Me follows the story of Tamara and Zee. Tamara and Zee couldn’t be more different. Tamara has money, expensive tastes and a corporate job. Everything about her life just seems perfect. Zee on the other hand comes from a darker side. He was born into a family of crime. He ran away at a young age and is now trying to make a better name and life for himself. He’s a mechanic and underground fighter. The last thing either one of them expected was each other. Yes, these two couldn’t be more opposite, but you know the saying, opposites attract and the fire between these two is just scorching. Will Zee and Tamara take a chance on the unknown or will they forever be haunted by things they can’t change..

Dirty For Me was a quick and easy read for me. I love fighter romances and liked that this one had the rich girl/bad boy story added to it. I really liked Zee. He was your bad boy, alpha male personified. He was intense and gritty. He was possessive and when he wanted something, he went all in. Tamara was a great match for him. She was tough and didn’t scare off easily. Sure, she came from a different background, but it was the life that she was living that made her stand up for what she wanted and go after the things that made her happy. Zee pulls out a side of Tamara that she didn’t know existed. Maybe deep down that side had always been there, but it wasn’t until Zee that she fully embraced the type of woman she was. She fought for Zee, even though he tried to push her away. She knew that deep down, Zee deserved more and was the type of man she wanted in her life. And the chemistry between these two was explosive. You could just feel the tension and sparks between the two of them. Their connection was raw and intense. Definitely something worth fighting for.

The only issue that I had was the ending. I felt like there was a ton of build up and was ready for a full out war/confrontation, but it just fizzled out. Yes, there was some confrontation, but it dissolved way too quickly and just wasn’t believable. I wanted more action. More drama. I needed more fight. It was just too easy. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t have been happier with the way things turned out for our main characters, but those last few chapters left me wanting/needing more.

Wow, that was hot. And all kinds of fun!

Full review, as usual also posted on Ellie Reads Fiction

he first book by Ms Ashenden which I tried, Take Me Deeper, did not work for me but I wanted to give this one a chance as well because I was curious what the author could do with the familiar (and not particularly favourite trope of mine) bad boy meets good girl and wins her over.

I really enjoyed this story. It's nothing ground-breaking or new but rather a familiar trope done well. It's a sexy, emotionally charged romance between Zee, the rough and tough street fighter from the wrong side of the tracks and the little miss perfect, daddy's good girl Tamara.

They start with unrestrained lust and acting out their fantasies and gradually move to opening up to emotionally and sharing secrets and dreams. They both change throughout the story and neither is what they initially appeared to be.

I really liked Zee, I won't say much more about him in order to avoid spoilers and keep the suspense but he turns out to be a pretty descent guy - loyal to his friends, involved in his community, trying to run away from a past that can only lead to a future of crime. He is wonderful with Tamara, helping her figure out herself without pressuring her.

I admit I didn't like Tamara as much as Zee but still, she did make the right choice in the end. It took her longer than I would have liked, some of her actions came off as childish and immature and she made some mistakes along the road, but I feel they are understandable, part of her journey to be a better person, to make up her own mind and follow her heart rather than just blindly do what is expected of her.

The supporting cast of Zee's friends are well-developed characters who fit the story perfectly. There is also a strong element of suspense that kept the plot going forward and a secondary conflict between Zee and his father which I also found rather fitting overall.

It's a fast paced, action-packed romance that draws the reader in and keeps them captivated till the very last page. Interesting characters, strong chemistry and sexual tension, unexpected plot twists make one irresistible package.

This is one hot sexy sensual story the hero is one bad boy but with a vulnerability just under the surface and I loved it this one really ticks the boxes for a romance that will keep you turning the pages.

Ezekiel West runs a gym in the seedier part of Detroit which includes a self defence class for woman he is tough and very hard but he is gorgeous in a bad boy way there are scares physical and emotional and lots of ink, Zee as he likes to be called has a lot in his past and he keeps that to himself he has close friends, friends that he calls his family and they care for each other. Zee does a lot of work with outreach and he fights to let out that dark side of him, woman are after him all the time one night stands are all he wants he is not going to lose again.

Tamara Lennox comes from a rich family a rich family with secrets and Tamara's is big but feels that nothing is real she feels like she is in a movie always doing what pleases her parents working hard in the family investment business she has a boyfriend that her parents approve of but there is no love, so when she goes to a self defence class with her friend Rose just as support she has no idea what comes over her when she meets bad boy Zee but she wants some time to be herself to open up and feel with him.

What can I say this is really one dirty hot sexy story both Zee and Tamara let lose in each others arms the faster hottest sensual and moving sex there is but there are things happening between them both are feeling things that neither planned neither wanted but wow is it good for them both. Zee opens up to Tamara like he has to no one else even his "family" and Tamara tells him her secret but when danger walks in the door this is when the love flows. I loved this one what can I say other than if you love a good bad boy and lots of hot loving pick this one up you won't want to put it down.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed several of Jackie Ashenden's books before, needless to say, when I saw the cover and read the blurb for Dirty For Me, I knew I had to read it. I was not disappointed. Zee is hot, a badass, alpha, protective, and sexy as sin - the bad boy we girls all love to love. Tamara Eliot is classy, beautiful, controlling, keeps her life compartmentalized and focused, yet there is something about Zee that makes her want to break out of the box she's created for herself, something primal, something forbidden, something dirty, something real.

When circumstances bring them together, try as they may, neither can stay away, even though it would be best if they did. Both of them find themselves falling into something deeper, more than just dirty hot sex. Zee's world is dangerous, very dangerous, and one that can touch and damage everyone he cares about, especially Tamara.

The romance is hot, and the story is both sexy and dnagerg. I came to really like Zee - he becomes Tamara's own bad boy version of a Dangerously Dirty Dark Knight whose armor is far from shiny....but then that is exactly the kind of Knight Tamara needs him to be.

The book opens up with the introduction of Zee. The way the author describes him is both scary and sexy. He is a mix of power, confidence, and intimidation. His description is captivating and draws the reader in.
On the other hand, Tamara doesn't seem as interesting or captivating. At least not at first. She is an intern at her families company and enjoys the finer things in life. Although she seems to have a great life, she is board and unhappy.

Once Tamara and Zee begin to interact, the attraction between them is intense. But Zee isn't exactly Prince Charming. He is demanding, crude, and somehow still sexy! The sex scenes, as you can imagine, are intense and hot. But the scenes that followed and sometimes led up to these were stuffy. The characters were too much in their own heads and often said the same thing over and over again.

Even though the ending was cheesy, I did enjoy this book. It's a quick and entertaining read. Probably not a book I would rush out to buy or want to read again. But for a one time read, it wasn't bad.

Another great read from this author. With characters that are raw, real, and flawed I was immediately pulled into this good girl meets bad boy story. Seriously steamy and intense, the story of two people from vastly different worlds coming together is fantastic.

Tamara Eliot works hard every day to gain her parents approval, respect, and forgiveness. It seems though that no matter what she does it isn't quite enough. Zee Chase left home as a teenager. Not willing to be part of the crime world his father lives in, he was lucky enough to find people he willingly calls family. When Tamara and Zee first meet they each judge the other as lacking but there is just something there, a spark which quickly becomes a flame. What is meant to be one intense passionate encounter soon turns into more but he will never be welcome in her world and she's not safe in his.

I highly recommend this one.

Both people in this story are living lives and pretending to be what other people want them to be, even though that is not their true self. The chemistry between the two of them is strong, but their connection is stronger. They each are dealing with pain and guilt about their pasts, and they need to figure out how to realize that it's not their fault, and then move on. Moving on and accepting the truth leads to their happiness. There were some hot sex scenes included in this story. This was a good read. I found myself engrossed in the story from the very first page, until the very last . I hated to put this book down.

this is the third book by this author that I've read and they just keep getting better and better the more i read from them. this author has a fab way of writing so that the characters come to life in the words you read. this book has it all, from very hot steamy scenes that will leave you hot under the collar to amazing chemistry between the characters and of course a fab story. i definitely cant wait to read from this author in the future.

The title of this book fits the story quite aptly. Phew! man is it hot in here? Well, hello there Zee! I loved the whole mobster, bad boy turned good, romantic twist. Quite an unexpected ending though. I do think that Zee and Tamara got off a little bit too easy where Joshua Chase is concerned, but I have a feeling we will be seeing more of the Lennox and Chase characters in the next 2 books, both of which are on my ginormous TBR list.

NetGalley ARC for honest review

This was book I didn't look up the description to see what was about. I have read some books from Jackie Ashenden and thought I liked want I read from her so far.
I had mixed feeling about the story, but over all the chemistry between Zee and Tamara was great. I would of like the ending to have bigger bang. Can't come complain about the end results.

Zee could be a crass man, but I found it hot, “you wanna touch me, then how about you wrap that mouth of yours around my ***k.”
Not to ruining his reputation of being a bad boy, but Zee could be such a sweet man when he wanted to be, "then he lifted her hand and kissed the back of it. “Come on, I’m hungry. And for once it’s not for you.” I liked this book I loved Zee.
