Meetings were the bane of my office life.
This book is a good, solid, common sense ways to get more from the meeting.

+Some things I would add:
- a meeting clock is amazing (add avg hourly wage and how many people in the meeting, if 10x people at $40 per hour =$800 for 2 hour meeting. Is it worth that?)
- never have or accept a meeting without an agenda
- they also said not to multi task, and to be fully present.
This is opposite to Google meetings, where they can bail if not relevant, and can also dial in, or keep working on laptop in the meeting. Many meetings at least in tech, may need someone for expertise, or authorisation, but they are not needed for 95%. I think it's great to be present but not an active member.

The meeting scribe can summarise the key points, decisions and deadlines and the whole team can focus for that part.

Love Brian Tracy. Read him heaps back from when I was 17 years old and starting in sales and management.

Listened at 2x via Blinkist.

I’m a building facilitator for courageous conversations at my place of employment. Creative approaches solve problems faster. I read this for tools and techniques!

I’m satisfied with what I learned. I also feel validated in my approach.

I’m not here to teach my colleagues.
I’m here to facilitate effective communication.

Today’s organizations aren’t top-down hierarchies like the companies of old – they’re collaborative and team-driven. That means leaders have to take on a new role: they have to facilitate the work of other experts. How? Well, it’s all a question of getting team members on the same page during meetings. That starts with setting ground rules to establish basic behavioral norms, and agreeing on the purpose of the team’s work. Throw in creative approaches to problem-solving and your meetings will be more productive than ever!

Surely we can use the ideas propose in this book. Written in summary, it give you the overall understanding on how to lead or involve in a meeting.

The point that really makes me wonder and think in this book is, "Your willingness and ability to prepare thoroughly for each of these meeting can have a major impact on you future."

How to make meetings more effective?

Brian Tracy does not write long books but the main point is that he provides excellent summary for the topic. You can find this book very useful if you don’t know how to improve efficiency of meetings. Most of the time meetings are waisting time and money. Let’s be careful about both.

It's a straightforward book and that alone would make you enjoy it. But He kept repeating some of his points and without that, it would have been a smaller book and a 5 star read

I have been a big Tracy reader for about 15 years and had high expectations for this book. It was a quick and easy read. I felt that we would get into a topic area, and then the chapter would end; I thought there would be a lot more that could have been covered. This is definitely something that would be useful for newer meeting facilitators.
