Saving strays is easy. Saving your heart? Not so much.
Dr. Willa Mae Parker has built her life around rescuing what others abandon—injured animals, broken dreams, and the fading coastal town of Sunrise, North Carolina. When she inherits her late father’s chaotic veterinary clinic, she’s determined to finish the dream they shared by securing a piece of land to create an animal sanctuary.
There’s just one problem. That land is now the center of a high-stakes fight.
Connor Stone is a big-city developer with a bruised reputation and far more to lose than a deal. Sent to Sunrise to acquire the same property, success means proving himself to his powerful family and keeping custody of his daughter. Failure isn’t an option.
They clash. They spark. And a matchmaking goat named Geraldine refuses to stay out of it.
As Sunrise takes sides and the town’s lovable, eccentric cast weighs in—loudly—Willa and Connor are forced to choose between ambition and belonging, loyalty and love. Because in a town like Sunrise, everyone’s watching, and walking away might cost them everything that matters.
From USA Today bestselling authorErin Scoggins, Every Little Thing is a laugh-out-loud romantic comedy about found family, second chances, and one unforgettable goat. Perfect for fans of Emma St. Clair, Emily Henry, and heartfelt Southern charm.
USA Today bestselling author Erin Scoggins writes heartfelt small-town romances and lighthearted Southern mysteries where love is messy, community is everything, and laughter is always on the menu. Erin lives in North Carolina, and when she’s not writing, she’s wrangling three teenagers and dreaming up plot twists over a plate of chicken and dumplings.
Wanting to read something light and uncomplicated, opposed to mysteries and thrillers, Every Little Thing was a good choice. The setting is small town Sunrise in North Carolina, where life is slower and people know and care for each other.
Local vet, Dr Willa Parker’s long held dream is to buy a plot of land, there she'll establish an animal sanctuary and rehabilitation centre to work alongside her established veterinary hospital. Unbeknown to Willa, a west coast land developer is negotiating to buy the same plot of land intending to create a luxury eco-retreat. Connor Stone, representing the company, arrives to close the deal.
Opponents when they meet, Willa and Connor’s attraction to each other and the interference of Willa's loyal friends and Geraldine the goat, make this book a schmaltzy love story.
Light entertainment offering an uncomplicated read.
With thanks to BookGoSocial and NetGalley for the eARC, this review is my personal, unbiased opinion.
I’ve been stuck in a serious reading slump lately and desperately needed to switch things up. I’d somehow fallen into the trap of reading the same two dozen books on repeat—apparently my TBR had become a very exclusive rerun channel.
So I was especially excited when Every Little Thing landed in my NetGalley account. And thankfully, it was exactly the palate cleanser I needed. It has an adorably funny meet-cute, three hilariously meddling oldies, a whole cast of delightfully kooky animals, and a feel-good story that is basically a warm hug in book form.
It was the just-right book at exactly the right time. Low angst, laugh-out-loud funny, and genuinely heartwarming, with a happily-ever-after that delivers all the good feels without making you work too hard for them.
If you’re looking for a cute, cozy beach read with plenty of laughs and absolutely no emotional heavy lifting, Every Little Thing should definitely be on your list. 🥰📚

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for my review. This is my first book by this author and I loved it. This book would be a cute Hallmark movie which takes place in a small town. The story is very funny due to an unruly goat, Geraldine, who is my favorite character. Look out for the escape artist as there is no telling what she might do,what she might steal and hide and she has been known to eat anything. The local vet ,Willa, takes in all strays including Geraldine. She hopes to follow through with her father’s dream of buying a plot of land and turning it in to a sanctuary and rehabilitation center for animals. However, then hot shot Connor shows up in town to buy the same plot of land and turning it in to a high end get away. This story is such a light hearted romantic but funny story. I definitely recommend this book.
Willa is finally ready to make her and her late dad’s dream come true by buying the land she needs to expand her veterinary practice and create an animal sanctuary. The only problem? Connor is trying to buy the same property.
After an adorable meet-cute involving a matchmaking goat, Willa and Connor had an instant connection, but with Connor’s reputation, family expectations, and custody of his daughter on the line, he’s determined to get the deal done. Of course, a small town full of matchmakers—both human and animal—keeps throwing them together.
A sweet, cozy small-town romance with adorable animals, fun matchmaking, and plenty of charm. I really enjoyed Willa and Connor’s story!
Thank you to NetGalley and Erin Scoggins for the free advanced copy. I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
If you need a cute, genuinely funny rom-com, this is it!
The banter between the characters hooked me immediately. It definitely gives playful rivals/frenemies vibes, which made it super breezy and fun to read.
The comedy actually landed for me HARD, I caught myself laughing out loud and smiling at my Kindle multiple times throughout the book. The chemistry felt natural, the side characters added great chaotic energy, and the pacing flew by.
Such a fun, heartwarming book. Perfect if you’re looking for something sweet, witty, and upbeat!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
A feel-good romantic comedy and I loved it! I found myself laughing throughout the book from the antics not only from the animals but the eccentric townfolk’s.

When big-city developer Connor Stone arrives in town to secure the same piece of property sparks fly between them. Willa and Conner’s meet-cute courtesy of Geraldine the matchmaking goat, was hilarious.
