She's stubborn at times, but her determination to honor her father's legacy gives the story genuine emotional depth. Her dream of building an animal sanctuary feels meaningful and personal, making every obstacle she faces matter to the reader.
Connor Stone initially appears to be the classic outsider threatening the town's future, but he's far more complex than that. Beneath his polished exterior is a father fighting for his daughter and a man trying to rebuild his life. Watching his relationship with Willa evolve from rivalry to affection is one of the novel's greatest strengths. Their chemistry feels natural, with plenty of witty banter and emotional moments that never feel forced.
The real star of the book, however, might be Geraldine the goat. What could have been a simple comic side character becomes a delightful source of humor throughout the story. Every Little Thing by Erin Scoggins is the second book in her Sunrise Beach Series but can certainly be read and enjoyed as a standalone story.
As a veterinarian Willa has long dreamed of opening an animal sanctuary, a dream that she shared with her late father. She even has the perfect location in her sights, but unfortunately she is not alone in seeing its potential. Connor Stone is in Sunrise on behalf of his family's real estate enterprise, with plans to buy the same piece of land to build a luxury spa and resort and he is a man wit a point to prove and a lot at stake. With such competing interests Willa and Connor are destined to clash and when they do, sparks fly.
This was a fun lighthearted read with much of the humor coming from Geraldine, a match making goat with a literal taste for expensive clothing and the various eccentric townsfolk of Sunrise who are not afraid to do a little meddling if it means bringing Willa and Connor together. Writing humour that works in a romance can be hard to pull off without it feeling cheesy, but the author did a really good job, I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading this book. While I did not enjoy it quite as much as the first book in the series, The Next Big Thing, it was still a sweet feel good book, and one that I am sure lots of readers will love .

Willa Parker is simply a lovable character. She's kind, smart, and incredibly dedicated to her job. Her only downside is that she's so focused on work that she barely has a life outside of it. She's also very put-together and emotionally mature, which makes her a great counterpart to Connor.
Connor, on the other hand, feels like his life is falling apart. He's spent so much time trying to become the person his family expects him to be—the successful breadwinner, the perfect husband, and an amazing father to his daughter. But now his marriage has fallen apart, he's lost a major business deal, and his daughter is constantly irritated with him. So he throws himself into a new deal, hoping it will finally give him the sense of fulfillment he's been missing.
The real star of this matchmaking story, though, is Geraldine—a goat with a serious attitude! Add in a bunch of nosy townspeople, and you've got a surprisingly entertaining cast of characters.

This is the second book in the Sunrise Beach Series and I was thrilled to return to Sunrise because I really enjoyed “The Next Big Thing”, the first book in this series.
There is a strong theme of family (not only biological, but also found family), and fulfilling the family legacy. “Every Little Thing” delivers an entertaining novel with a menagerie of animals and a full cast of meddling townsfolk.
“Every Little Thing” highlights how good people can be working in opposition to each other for what they consider valid reasons at the time; but reasons can evolve or change based on reevaluated priorities.
I was cheering for Willa & Connor (and also Olivia & Elliot). It was heartwarming to see the personal growth that Connor & Olivia experienced after arriving in Sunrise.
Having bravery and the courage to follow dreams is enviable. Finding a purpose and meaning brings contentment and happiness to life.

First of all, I wanted to give thanks to author Erin Scoggins, Harpeth Road Press, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in advance!
Every Little Thing was cute, sweet, and super easy to read, but unfortunately it was also a little… forgettable?
I really liked the premise, especially the small-town setting, the animals, and the whole rivals-to-lovers situation between Willa and Connor. There were definitely some adorable moments, and I enjoyed their relationship while I was reading it. I also have a soft spot for a single-dad romance, so there was plenty here that worked for me.
At the same time, I kept waiting for the story to give me a little more. More tension, more chemistry, more emotional depth—just something that would make me really invested in the characters and their relationship. Everything felt very safe and predictable, and because of that, I never had that moment where I became completely obsessed.
So I did like it! I had a good time, it was cute, and I don't really have anything bad to say about it. But it was one of those books that I enjoyed while I was reading and will probably struggle to remember much about a few months from now.
Cute? Yes.
Did I have fun? Yes.
Did it alter my brain chemistry? Absolutely not.

This book is definitely for fans of You’ve Got Mail, Lucy Score, and Sarah Adams.
I really enjoyed the narrative of this book, particularly the perspectives of the MMC and FMC. We also got a few chapters from the MMC’s point of view, which I really enjoyed and thought fleshed out both characters really well, especially through the way the daughter reacted to and thought about them.
As other readers have said, Geraldine the goat really stole the show with her antics and charm, but she also really highlighted the small-town setting through everyone’s reactions to her.

This book was a hoot!
Willa is the local town vet and she wants to build a sanctuary. Enter Connor, businessman, single father, developer - he needs the land to save his family's reputation and keep custody of his daughter. Who will succeed? And will it be either of them when Geraldine the social media famous goat keeps butting in to their plans?
Hilarious, fun, easy to read. Just everything I need from a romance. It was my first veterinarian romance, and the addition of the animals in this story brought me so much joy. I read it in two sittings, I just could not put it down.
Unfortunately I did not like how far-fetched some of the plotlines were, having to go against his daughter's wishes would win him custody? Having his brother remind him constantly that essentially being a bad person would enable him to keep his child? Odd. We all know that's not what custody arrangements are based on!
There was also a lot of repetition. I lost count of how many times it was said "he looks so good in his casual clothes, I'm used to seeing him in a suit" (obviously I have paraphrased!) Because if you keep repeating that line, then yes you are used to seeing him in his casual clothes! So it made no sense?
Still a fantastic story, I recommend it to any romance lovers. Especially those who love animals, single father romances, small town trope, hallmark movies and just want a generally funny easy to read story!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for my review. This is my first book by this author and I loved it. This book would be a cute Hallmark movie which takes place in a small town. The story is very funny due to an unruly goat, Geraldine, who is my favorite character. Look out for the escape artist as there is no telling what she might do,what she might steal and hide and she has been known to eat anything. The local vet ,Willa, takes in all strays including Geraldine. She hopes to follow through with her father’s dream of buying a plot of land and turning it in to a sanctuary and rehabilitation center for animals. However, then hot shot Connor shows up in town to buy the same plot of land and turning it in to a high end get away. This story is such a light hearted romantic but funny story. I definitely recommend this book.

This wonderful, light hearted romance will make your day and fill it with sunshine. The characters are fantastic and the setting at Sunrise Beach is enough to make me long for the summer months again.
Dr. Willa Parker and Connor Stone are definitely opposites. However, as you read their story, you will see their chemistry together that cannot be denied. The southern charm is ever present as it was in the first book in this series.
It is a fresh, witty read with so many great scenes in it that I could not possibly list all of my favorites. Geraldine, the goat, steals the show quite often.
It is the perfect beach read, but if you read it at home, you can easily transport yourself to the sandy shore as you read and imagine the scenery.

The banter between the characters hooked me immediately. It definitely gives playful rivals/frenemies vibes, which made it super breezy and fun to read.
The comedy actually landed for me HARD, I caught myself laughing out loud and smiling at my Kindle multiple times throughout the book. The chemistry felt natural, the side characters added great chaotic energy, and the pacing flew by.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Every Little Thing, sometimes you just need a cute read and this book was definitely that!! Dr Willa Parker saves animals, all animals, and as the book begins she is saving a goat, Geraldine, and she's going to steal your heart! The town of Sunrise,NC is her home and she is following in her fathers footsteps as a beloved veterinarian. Her dream is to have an animal sanctuary, there is just one problem and his name is Connor and he's trying to buy/steal the land she thinks she's always been promised. Its a drama that keeps unfolding with Connor, his daughter, lets throw in a puppy, a donkey, and a lively cast of towns folk. Read the book, enjoy a good , cute read.

This was a sweet lighthearted contemporary romance that really didn't take itself too seriously. Very PG and predictable, but that's pretty common in this genre. I really liked the concept and the FMC and MMC characters. Overall I enjoyed it, but there were some things I found annoying. A lot of the issues I had came from other characters. The goat was just too much for me. It provided funny moments in the beginning, but it just felt like it was so consistent and I ended up annoyed when the goat was part of scenes over and over and over again. Also as someone who worked at an animal sanctuary, the lack of locks or carefree attitude about locks is very much not the case in that industry. I also really didn't like Willa's receptionist/friend Aggie. She was awkwardly obsessed with setting them up, but also said things no one would say in front of someone else. Made it very cringey and weird.

This was an easy read. While I haven't read the first book in the series, I didn't feel lost while reading the sequel. There were a lot of characters, and at times I had to stop and remind myself how each character knew each other.
It got a little crazy and a little unbelievable but if you are looking for an escape from the every day, this book is for you.

After reading the first book in the series, The Next Big Thing I was looking forward to seeing what happened next in Sunrise Beach.
Dr Willa Mae Parker is a passionate vet determined to create an animal sanctuary on a piece of land in her beloved coastal town of Sunrise, North Carolina - but when slick big city developer Connor Stone arrives to acquire the very same plot, sparks immediately fly between them.
What I loved about this one is how warm and funny it is - the eccentric townsfolk of Sunrise are an absolute delight and Geraldine the matchmaking goat completely stole the show and had me laughing out loud.
The slow burn romance between Willa and Connor is so well done and Connor's storyline around his daughter adds a really lovely emotional depth to the book. The coastal setting is gorgeous and really transports you there completely .
Not quite 5 stars for me personally but a brilliant, easy read that left me with a big smile on my face - perfect if you love a heartwarming small town romanc
