She never expected her nearly illegible scratching to turn into not only a passion but a career three years later. A. N. Boyden's humble beginnings began on Wattpad, where "Spouse Swap" was born. She gained thousands of adoring and supportive followers who gave her the confidence and boost she needed to finally self-publish.

Boyden's female characters are strong Black women who reside in the great state of Texas, just like her. She sometimes refers to herself as a "one-woman" show, but frequently finds herself pitching her storylines to her husband, who is her number one fan.

Normally I hate reading books in third person because I feel like a creep looking in, but this book was too good not to. Matilda and Luka were a match made in heaven because their humour worked and they were powerhouses of their own.
I really liked how they portrayed Matilda as a strong independent woman because she was calling the shots. The overall plot also worked really well because I was kept intrigued to know what happened next, and that ending. Cannot wait for book 2!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are looking for a serious vampire romance then I fear you will have to keep looking further cuz this is not it. Its just very immature at times & im not looking for a silly goofy book rn. So if you aren’t either, then I’d definitely skip this.

Tropes: Romantasy, Fated Mates, He Falls First, Enemies to Lovers, Interracial, Age Gap, Dark Romance, Mental Health Representation
Readers who have become accustomed to AN Boyden’s slyly twisted family dramas and wicked, snarky comedic thrillers (me, I am Readers) will find her new Romantasy, Hunt Me, teeming with the best elements of her contemporary books while bringing a fresh perspective to the vampire/fated mates lore!
Since the passing of his mate, Vampire King Luka Alesi has reluctantly existed for a century, taking little interest in his immortal life. Watching the barren years march on, he often feels that he has no purpose and no reason for being. When his royal council suggests that for the stability of the crown that he take another wife, Luka is appalled and angered by this edit! He has enough upheaval to wrangle as he deals with discontented humans, vampire rivals and rampaging werewolves; the last thing he would want to add to that unsavory mixture would be a wife.
The last of her kind, Matilda Helsing, hails from a long line of fierce vampire hunters. Her ardent desire is the rid her town, Night Falls, of the vampires who have taken the town as their own, subjugating the human population to mere chattel. HOWEVER, as a powerful huntress, even she does not feel equipped to challenge the Vampire king, that is until the choice is taken out of her hands and she is left with little leeway!
Under pressure and with some trepidation, Matilda journeys out to waylay Luka and his entourage. However, what will happen when the huntress becomes the hunted? Will these two opposites, midnight and sunlight, gloom and gladness, be able to coexist or will they find that they have a deeper connection and a bigger problem??
Conclusion:
Hunt Me is an expansive story with several distinct interwoven plot devices bringing suspense, tension and movement to the story. Luka realizes that he has an unusual connection and bond with his would-be assassin. Matilda, and against the advice of his advisors, takes her as his guest, I mean hostage. The contrast in their personalities makes this book such a fun read; Luka is austere and cold while Matilda, even in the face of her dire circumstances, takes very little seriously. She has plenty of amusing quips, most at the expense of Luka’s dignity. Even as we enjoy our bickering couple, Matilda’s humanity and the uncertainty of life with a variety of enemies almost at the gate brings poignancy and a sense of urgency to the storyline. Secondary characters also add richness to the narrative. My two favorites are Beta David, enemy turned ally and fussy, yet fierce Lord Ezra, the king’s closest advisor. Final words, I really enjoyed Ms. Boyden foray into the world of vampires. I especially liked that Matilda had the last name of Helsing in a gentle nod to Dracula. The book does not end on a cliffhanger exactly, but the last scene sets up the next book in the series where we will catch up Luka and Matilda and their progeny😊!

Favorite Lines:
Deep down, he knew that if she were still with him, she would hound him to do the right thing and think about the greater good.
She would kill the Vampire King because Night Falls had belonged to humans once, and when she succeeded, it would belong to them again.
“I think… I just realized… I have nothing left to fight for—not a family nor a cause, not even a place to call my own,” she replied in a soft, vulnerable tone that he didn’t think she was capable of.
She could now add making a werewolf blush to her list of accomplishments.
She pilfered his necklace from his deceased queen he’s been wailing about for a century, and she still has blood pumping through her veins. What does that tell you?
She popped him upside the head for good measure. He was enjoying it too much.
In their brief time together, the tenacious huntress wormed her way into his heart.
“Those six times must’ve been the highlight of your life.” His cheeks turned a marvelous shade of pink.
He took great pleasure in her pouting. Dare he say it made his day?
“You wish to be with the child all the time? That can be arranged.”
She understood very well how he could lose himself in wonder because she was no different.
“I cannot speak for them; nevertheless, you are the highlight of my days and nights.
He removed his hand and instantly regretted it when she said, “I would be a top.”

Really Good Book!
This was a really good book and I cannot wait for the
installment. Matilda was too much, she was never without having anything to say especially to Luka. These two were different but the same. Very strong male and female characters but not annoying or arrogant.
The love scenes......WHEW...I had to clutch my imaginary pearls and grab my imaginary tissue to dab off the beads of sweat.
I am looking forward to the next book!! Well Done Ms. Boyden!!

Teetered between good and great. I think the main reason for that is the two plot lines that were set up as major conflicts in the beginning with Anastasia and “Gregorio” felt rushed in their resolution but the rest of the book was genuinely enjoyable like the main romance was great and has a good setup for a sequel 3.5/5

Love Boyden’s work but I’m not so sure about this. Huge PNR lover.. I might have to revisit this on a later date.
