~ Lust, greed, and revenge collide... ~

Fate screwed Eden MacLaird at the age of twenty-one, stole her first love, then her first child. Twenty years later, she still hasn't found her happily-ever-after. Sure, from the outside, she appears to have it all, including Declan, her gorgeous, rich-as-sin husband. But things aren't what they seem, and catching Declan in bed with her best friend destroys any dreams she harbors for love, much less sexual fulfillment.

Then in walks Sean Bennett...

Just months away from earning his law degree, Sean's smart, driven, and serious, but an unexpected encounter between them in a bar one night changes everything. His best friend, Trinitee, warns against getting too involved, but the heat between them is beyond intense, and neither of them are willing to walk away.

With Eden's marriage in shambles, she's eager to make a go of it with Sean, despite their sixteen-year age difference. But while she relishes her sexual reawakening, she fears giving up the posh life she's grown accustomed to. That life, however, and everything in it, comes crashing down as bodies start piling up around them, and all clues point to Eden and Sean.

Secrets, betrayal, and revenge threaten to destroy not just her carefully-crafted reputation, but her very life. With their freedom at stake, Sean and Eden join forces to uncover those plotting against them. But as doubt and evidence mount, she must choose: give in to her suspicions and save herself, or trust their new-found love and save them both.

Stirred is a story beholding twenty years of deceit and lies. A master plan set into motion on the cusp of a new life. The mastermind treacherously devoting his undying attention to detail in order to start his own life. Betrayal, lies, death, murder and subterfuge all the catalyst for dominance and power.

On the anniversary of her daughter's death, Eden Ross finds herself ridden with grief and roiling with turmoil. Twenty years later and the devastating loss, feels as if it was yesterday. A daughter she never met, died at birth. A grief so strong, made stronger by the fierce love for her sweetheart, Jacob. A man perished too soon, twenty years earlier. In mere months, Eden MacLaird lost her love and her child.

Married and now Mrs. Declan Ross, Eden feels even lonelier now, than the day she lost her daughter. Trapped in a marriage of convenience, unhappy and dominated by her husband's will to control her, Declan keeps her under his thumb, by ensuring all her assets are tied up in his ventures. Albeit, in the twenty years of being married to Declan, and even after having a second child. Eden has become complacent and simply keeps busy with her passions. A renowned author and running her own Early Childhood School. Eden keeps her days occupied.

After surreptitiously discovering her own physical and emotional needs. Eden's first scorching kiss with a stranger, ignites feelings long thought lost. Eden convinces herself, that her heightened senses and being under emotional duress, made her bold and rash in her judgement. Yet, when an affair ensues, Eden and Sean, have a sizzling chemistry that cannot be hindered.

Sean Bennett, a young and budding law student, Sean falls head of over heels for Eden after their first unexpected encounter. Being sixteen years Eden's junior, Sean's virility and determination, coupled with his charm and wit, peeks Eden's interest.

As Eden and Sean traverse a clandestine affair, Eden discovers the once youthful girl, long lost. While Sean learns the body and mind of a more mature woman. A greater mastermind, is playing a deadly game. A game of revenge, for the brutality and pain suffered. A mastermind who set the perfect scene for Eden and Sean to bump into each other. While timing all the odd occurrences and manipulating all the characters, in a magical puppet show. Strings are pulled, emotions become volatile and war is waged among the masses.

Duplicity is discovered, while distrust runs rampant between Eden and Sean. Eden's past hauntingly ravishes her present, with a burning hatred like no other. Sean and Eden now find themselves fighting for the truth, while teetering the thin line of the law.

I absolutely loved the way this story unfolded. Engrossing me with a suspenseful and thrilling tale of subterfuge and betrayal. I felt that the puppet master behind it all, was superbly portrayed and so enigmatically written. Eden was aptly developed, being the traumatized mother and a woman lost to her own self. Then we're given Sean. He was such a night in shining armor. Swooping in as perfectly timed, and igniting Eden's passion.

A well written and enthralling tale. Definitely recommending this to anyone looking for a suspenseful plot, filled with an intense need to uncover a damning plot.

Sean is 15 years younger than Eden but that doesn't stop Sean for falling for Eden or Eden falling for Sean. Their connection is an explosion of passion.

So young, so tender, so giving.
And so sexy.
I just didn’t want to let the moment go.
I needed it like I needed air, like I hadn’t had a decent, full breath in two decades.

Eden knows she shouldn't peruse whatever this is between Sean and her, but she needs to feel the desire and need Sean has for her.

“Make no mistake, Eden. I’m no boy. I know you want me. I can see it. I can feel it. Just like I did at the bar when you kissed me."

 photo 13100421_zpsqq4hdugu.gif

Everything about Sean was hypnotic—his smile gentle and reassuring, his eyes mellow and soothing, his voice low and calm.

The affair that Eden and Sean embark upon comes with secrets and lies that takes their relationship on a journey into a double murder that will ultimately test their love and whether or not they trust the either with their entire heart.

Never in a million years was I expecting such an amazing story filled with twists, turns, lies, secrets and heart breaking sadness caused by the hands of two people Eden and Sean thought they knew.

Eden's past will haunt her and Sean's present and the secrets that are exposed will try to rock the future.

FANTASTIC STORY!!!

To say I LOVED Thompson's first two books, which were dark thrillers, is an understatement. She is one of my favorite authors. Period. STIRRED is a bit of a departure from her first two novels in that it focuses more on the romantic/erotic element of the story than just the thriller part. Still, I'm an avid thriller/suspense/crime fiction reader and I felt there was more than enough thrills, chills, and intrigue in this one to satisfy me. I love the story line and the twists and turns are, as always, masterful. I also felt the romantic/erotic aspect of this book was awesome which surprised me because I'm usually extremely put off by romance novels or novels focusing on erotica. I have nothing against them, I just enjoy crime fiction more. However, Thompson does an excellent job with this. The sexual tension and chemistry between the two main characters is off the charts. What you'll find here is an extremely hot physical relationship between two consenting adults--a nice change of pace from the normal "erotic" fare out there these days. It's nice to see a sexy male protagonist who knows how to pleasure a woman without necessarily being a domineering rapist. Very refreshing. I really love what Thompson has done here with the sexual relationship between the two characters. They're pushing boundaries and steaming things up but again, it's a relationship between two adults who have chosen to enter into it. So be prepared for some cold showers because Thompson's sex scenes are scorching! Overall, this was an incredibly awesome read. I was completely swept up in it and very, very sad when it ended. Brilliant, riveting, salacious and intriguing! It's a scorching page-turner.

I loved this book! "Stirred" as always with Thompson's works, is beautifully written. She captured me with her world building, and I felt connected to the characters right away.
"Stirred" has Thompson's captivating brand of thriller/mystery/suspense with just the right amount of romance and sexually intimate and erotic scenes. She was able to imbue the erotic scenes with both fan yourself hotness and at the same time, a level of intimacy that you still feel the romance and love between the characters. There were twists and shocking turns that I didn't see coming and literally made my mouth fall open and hand fly to my chest. I felt distraught for the characters as things came to light and mysteries unraveled. I also felt many happy moments as well. I'm very pleased with the ending.
I loved Nancy S. Thompson's first 2 books, "The Mistaken" and "Leverage", and she delivered again with "Stirred".

When I picked up Stirred by Nancy Thompson I was very curious as to how a very talented thrill writer was going to switch genres into romance. It only took a few pages to see that she was going to do it with as much aplomb as she did with her last two books. Stirred is a dark, gritty, intense romance of deceit, murder, family ties and frankly, the sex that stirs all those things together into an explosion for Eden and Sean. There were so many times I had to put the book down and take a deep breath, reminding myself that Eden and Sean weren't real people, but Ms. Thompson surely made you feel as if they were.

Declan, how I loath thee. I was never happier to see someone get their comeuppance in my life. As Eden's husband he betrayed her in so many ways I lost count. There was some humor in the book and you will find it in several scenes with Declan, the biggest D*** on the planet.

Ms. Thompson did such a fantastic job with this book it's hard to review it without giving spoilers. The characters were so real they made your chest ache with anticipation for them, and the plot of the book so plausible it scared me to think about it really happening to someone I know. Set in the beautiful backdrop of Snoqualmie Falls, Stirred is a walk through the dark world of martial affairs, murder, and what happily ever after really means.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed in this review is 100% my own.

Nancy S. Thompson won me over when I read her debut novel The Mistaken. She is now on her third novel it and it is a winner. Stirred is the kind of story that will keep you on your toes. It’s a story of murder, temptation, greed, deceit and indiscretions. It was so much more than a romance novel. There was suspense, drama, mystery, and thrills infused in the pages of this book. From the moment I began reading, I knew I would be in for an engaging, interesting and thrilling read. Although it was easy to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, it did not take anything from the story.

In this novel, readers are introduced to Eden MacLaird, Declan, and Sean Bennett. Eden is a wife, mother, author and principal. Based on the blurb we see that she had lost a lot at an early age. Twenty years later we see where her life has improved financially. However, she was unhappy where it mattered the most. She is in a loveless marriage with a controlling and manipulative bastard. To make matters worse, she walked in on said husband with her best friend doing the dirty deed. At this low point in her life, she meets Sean Bennett, who will either be her salvation or her destruction. Sean is forbidden fruit, but that did not stop Eden from desiring what she believed was bad for her.

My feelings about Eden are mixed. She is a successful author and principal of her own school. However, she was too weak to seek out her own happiness. She preferred to endure a loveless marriage, rather than give up the life of privilege that she had grown accustomed to. There were times she would act brave, but then her insecurities would sneak up on her causing her to doubt her strength.

Declan, Eden’s husband, is a controlling, manipulative and deceitful bastard. He married Eden twenty years ago so he could get his hands on the money from his trust fund. There are other things about him that would make readers hate him, but I can’t mention them as it may mean giving away too much information. I do not wish to spoil the story for prospective readers.

Sean is sixteen years Eden’s junior. He is strong and smart and handsome. When Sean first laid eyes on Eden he was intrigued with her. He was determined to learn more about her. At first, his pursuit of her was a game, but as he got to know her he realised that he wanted more. Sean had his share of pain and loss. This forced him to grow up rather quickly. I loved his fighting spirit. He was the type of person who went after what he wanted. It was evident he wanted Eden.
I enjoyed seeing Sean and Eden together. She came alive whenever they were together. He made her feel special. The time they spent together was intense, and one can’t help but wish that they would get their happily ever after.

The story was well paced. It was well written and, I enjoyed the plot twists. The story was intense, sexy and thrilling. Be prepared to have your mind blown by the events that took place. The author brought everything together and, most of the mysteries were solved. The sex scenes were explicit, making suitable only for mature readers.

I enjoyed this story. It had me reading straight through the night. I highly recommend Stirred to readers who like romance, mystery and suspense stories. I can’t wait to see what else Ms. Thompson has in store for her fans.

Eden has been in a loveless marriage for long time after her partner was killed protecting her and her daughter died at birth. Having married Declan for security and nothing more she has been unhappy for a long time but with a son to think about and everything tied up in Declan she has no choice. That is until she realises her husband has been having an affair; all of a sudden Eden is thrown into a romance of her own with young Sean.

“And there we stood, with the falls rumbling behind us, the mist veiling us in a translucent shroud, creating a world where we alone existed and no one else could ever touch us.”

But this isn’t just an affair or love story; this story is a roller coaster of betrayal, deceit, lies, heartache and MURDER! Both Eden and Sean are caught up in an affair that is a lot more dangerous than just broken hearts.

“I needed her. Craved her—the fire in her eyes, the wonder in her touch, and, most especially, her vulnerability, her hunger to be wanted, to be loved. She’d become a drug to me, heady and wondrous.”

This was a thrilling ride with so many unexpected twists and turns and elements of the story that I just wasn’t expecting to happen at all. You won’t guess what’s coming from a million miles away and you’ll be staring at your kindle with your mouth wide open when everything is revealed.

“Eden was more than just an acquisition. She had a heart—a tremendously bruised one—and she was placing it in my hand. How could I betray that trust?”

I felt so much for Eden, her life was one filled with heartache, sadness and betrayal and yet I believed she remained so strong, so brave and open to what life did have to offer her despite being so screwed over by life in her past. Sean was also a loveable character, a younger guy with a cheeky and cocky side but also so grown up in the ways that mattered. His was strong, determined and was going to fight for what he wanted!

“And in that moment, I felt her surrender. I knew I had her. All I had to do was take what I wanted, what she was offering.”

The plot was insane; intense, dark, sexy, unexpected and thrilling are just some of the words I would use. I can’t really say much without giving away anything but I will say this is not a simple love affair story; this is so much more. So many different characters play such an important role and not only will not see the ending coming…you won’t even see the middle coming. We get thrown into a world of murder and lies and betrayal with the ultimate questions that thread throughout being; WHO AND WHY???!!!!!

JOSIE'S REVIEW
4.5 STARS

This is my first time reading a book from this author, and I can assure you it won’t be my last. Stirred was more than I bargained for, I knew going in it was an erotic suspense novel but I was not prepared for all the emotions I felt while reading. The story line and twists and turns were well written, but with the added romance and erotic scenes, it had me panting.

Eden has suffered so much in her life. She lost her first love and her first child. Twenty years later, Eden is resigned to her destiny and is married to Dean, has a son and is well off. Did she love Dean like her first love, no but after 20 years of marriage she did care a great deal for him. Things were not perfect, but she never expected to walk in on her husband having sex with her best friend. So what does Eden do, I can tell you she does not take the normal approach and confront them, nope. Eden is a strong character, despite her many disappoints in life, she persevered. Eden decides to go out, get piss drunk and in walks Sean Bennett.

Sean is 17 years younger than Eden. He is smart, handsome and well driven but after meeting Eden, his main focus is on the pretty lady he shared a kiss with. Sean at first came off as a bit arrogant but once I got to know him more, I fell in love with him. Sean too was dealt a crap hand in life and had to grow up fast. He’s a fighter and is not afraid to go after what he wants. OMG!!! The sexual chemistry between Sean and Eden was crazy off the charts. I mean I nearly wet myself when they shared a kiss (A KISS!!). Sean and Eden both complete each other. Both are open about their feelings, needs, desires and life. I really enjoyed Sean. I love how controlled he was. He’s very dominant and possessive of Eden, but knows when to rein it in while pleasuring Eden’s body, without demeaning Eden’s already fragile mind. Eden and Sean both pushed their boundaries to find a love that neither imagined.

This book was wild, dark, powerful, erotic, surprising and stirring. Ms. Thompson did not give readers an average love affair. She added twists and turns that made this story even more memorable. I do not want to give anything away, but while this story focuses on Eden and Sean there are side characters that play a huge part in this suspenseful read. There are so many parts that I did not see coming and the ending threw me for an even bigger WTF just happened loop. After all the WTF moments, I found my answers I was desperately searching for and everything I thought was true turned out was all wrong. I would highly recommend this book.

Nancy Thompson’s latest novel is truly wonderful! To think she came into the book scene as a writer of thrillers and now she’s released a first-class erotic romance. Stirred is hot, romantic, and thrilling all at the same time. I was on the edge of my seat through the entire novel. I love that Stirred is a romantic thriller first and erotic romance second. It’s not very often erotic romance is driven by plot; they’re usually focused more on straight sex. It’s hard to balance a romance plot and a mystery sub-plot at the same time. Many people don’t realize the skill and focus it takes to get the balance right. Nancy nailed with Stirred!

The encounters between Sean and Eden early in the novel are so well done, I got lost in their world and in the world of Seattle. The tension increased every time they were in a room together. Their relationship seemed to crackle at times, making it incredibly difficult to put the book down when I need to. Nancy managed to stay on point with the mystery plot, but still write some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve read in a long time. Not only are the sex scenes hot, they’re littered with tension! Sean and Eden melted into the pages and seamlessly became real life to me as I read. I’m also giving Nancy extra points for offering us a lead woman character over 40. Who says good romance has to be between twentysomethings all the time? I found it refreshing to read about a hot, sexy, and incredibly smart MOM who was finally getting what she wanted in life. I also found it equally refreshing to see her love interest was a younger man. Romance novels are so often the other way around.

Congrats to Nancy S. Thompson on a fantastic, well-written, and stunning novel! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

Are you looking for a book that has love, lust and suspense? Look no further than "Stirred" by Nancy S. Thompson. This novel tells the story of how Eden Ross realizes her marriage to Declan was unfulfilled in so many different areas. In pretending that all was well, Eden became a shell of a person that she once was. Enter Sean Bennett, a hot 3-rd year law school student who brings a spark of passion back into Eden's life. This novel picks up the pace from there and before you know it three lives are lost and everyone is pointing fingers at each other.

This book was a good read. I was very intrigued by the "who done it" aspect. I thought I had figured out who the killer was, but I discovered that I was wrong. I was very surprised about this, there is nothing I hate worse than a predictable book. The chemistry between Sean and Eden is undeniable. It is definitely a book that is not safe for work. Although, the chemistry is spot on, it was a relief that every single moment of the book was not focused on the love life of Eden and Sean. I was a little surprised at some of Eden's actions seeing as she is 40 years old, the owner of a school and erotica writer, sometimes Eden didn't think for herself the way I wanted her too. But then again, sometimes people get caught up in real life. It was refreshing to read the perfect mixture of "damsel in distress" and "Ms. Independent".

The resolution of the mystery comes at the very end and I wish there was a little more after that. I will not say this is a negative aspect of the book, because I think the real reason I feel this way is because I wanted to have more fun with the characters. This was entertaining novel and my first time reading Nancy Thompson, but it will not be my last.

This book had me on the edge of my seat!!!
Its dramatic, dark, twisty, murderous, edgy and hot as hell the sex scenes are through the roof hot!!!!

At the start of the book we meet Eden who was a young woman facing not only the loss of her first true love but also the loss of her first child, we are then fast forwarded 20 years later to the present day, Eden is a successful woman in her own right, mother to a son and has a hot as hell businessman husband who also has no heart or love for his wife, on the outside Eden has everything a woman could ask for on the inside is a completely different situation.

One night is all it takes to completely change Eden's whole life, she is betrayed by her husband and friend as she finds them in bed together but other than confront them she goes out to a bar and meets Sean 16 years her junior this is a turning point and nothing is at it seems at all, I was left with my mouth wide open on a few occasions throughout the book.

Although I didn't fully connect with the characters I really did feel for Eden especially, if you life edge of your seat page turners then this book is perfect and I will be reading Nancy S.Thompson's other books as its extremely well written.

First and foremost, a big shout-out and thank you to Nancy S. Thompson for advancing me a copy of her new novel in exchange for my honest review.

Already a HUGE fan of Nancy Thompson’s (“Thompson”) first two novels, “The Mistaken” and “Leverage,” I was absolutely ecstatic when the author advanced me a free copy of her new romance-suspense novel, “Stirred.” I dropped everything I was doing and quickly opened up to the first page of her new book, which hooked me right from the start. “Stirred” is a novel full of mystery, suspense, romance, and intense sexual heat; a story that you can sink your teeth into. Thompson once again delivers a novel that engages her reader right from the start as she doesn’t slowly lull you into her story. No, she starts it off with a bang keeping you completely entranced right up to the end. Talk about a novel that’s full of twists and turns. The author once again delivers a well-written and engaging story that all lovers of the romance-suspense genre will love. She did a fantastic job creating sexual tension and off-the-charts hot sex that will melt your panties. God! How I wish I could’ve traded places with the heroine as this is the kind of hero we ladies always dream of.

So why the deduction of half a star? As much as I truly enjoyed the story, I was able to figure out right away who the evildoer was, and their connection to the heroine, Eden. Maybe because I’ve read so many books, but I was able to figure it out right from the start.

In the end, “Stirred” is a novel that I highly recommend. Honestly, make sure you set aside a few hours of alone time when you start this novel because once you start you won’t want to stop. Congratulations to Thompson on another winner. By the way, if you haven’t done so already, I highly recommend you read Thompson’s first two novels, both thrillers that are absolutely amazing.

Please note that “Stirred” is available for Pre-Order at the unbelievably low price of $0.99 for a limited time.

Fate screwed Eden at twenty-one, and continued to do so. It stole her first love and her first child.

Here fate turns up again, twenty years later. She is now married to Declan - her rich handsome husband and friend of the father of her first child.

But fate took her in a different direction the night Eden walks in on her rich, handsome husband having sex with her best friend. in bed with her best friend.

Instead of confronting them she decides to to out on the town and fate introduces her to Sean Bennett

Sean is smart and driven and just months away from completing his law degree....but an unexpected encounter between Eden and Sean changes the direction of fate.

Despite the sixteen year age gap Sean and Eden cant fight their attraction and they begin an affair.

But fate returns..... and their game plan is thrown off kilter.

Unfortunately for me I clicked early on in the story the direction it would go. I also didnt like the fact that the author kept referring to Sean as a kid despite the fact he is meant to be intelligent and driven. I sometimes felt he was a bumbling idiot.

Eden wasnt the best character. The author reminds us repeatedly that she16 years older, more experienced than Sean. At times it felt like a mother son relationship instead of older woman/younger man.

This was a decently written book and a first time read from this author. It will keep you gripped and intrigued because you will want to know "who did it"

Although I love discovering new authors, I also love reading a book written by an author I love. Nancy S. Thompson is someone who knows her craft well and is able to transport me into a fictional world in which I’m lost within the pages. Her writing is that good. But I also wondered how she would tackle a different genre.
It’s hard to decide which part of Stirred I liked best. The erotic romance is hot and I had to stop on several occasions and mentally man myself. But I think Nancy is the master when it comes to suspense. Nearly every time I thought I might have worked out the web of deceit and subterfuge, a spanner would be thrown in the works and I had to rethink my theories
The characters are well developed. I immediately felt an infinity with Eden, even though I have never been in a similar situation. I initially wondered how the relationship would work between Eden and Sean, but I have to say, he won me over. I truly hated Declan. All of the characters enriched this book and had an important part to play.
Once you start reading Stirred, I guarantee you won’t be able to put it down and you will definitely lose sleep. You can forget about the housework.
I gave Stirred 5 humongous stars.

When I pick up a Nancy S. Thompson book there are a few things I already know ... it will be impeccably written, it will be well edited, it will have me on the edge of my seat and I will be turning pages so fast there will be scorch marks on my fingers. Stirred delivered on all those points. I'm not going to get into plot because I'm not here to ruin your journey. Ms. Thompson has crafted a deliciously circuitous route to lead you down, turning over one clue card at a time. Everything you thought to be true ... just might not be true ... and that is the joy of this labyrinthine tale. Buckle up, enjoy the incendiary heat between the main characters (you'll want your very own Sean ... and a car hood) and get ready for another Nancy Thompson E-Ticket thrill ride!

I've never read anything written by Nancy S. Thompson until I downloaded "Stirred!" Where has she been!!! I've missed a really good author. Rest assured, I will be reading more by her. This book was a true page turner with well developed characters. Characters that made for a fantastic read. Not many authors can make suspense, deceit and hot steamy sexual encounters work together & come to a satisfying conclusion. I highly recommend this book. Put it on your to be read list.

I knew this book was gonna have a lot of hurt!!! But I was not surprised in how much drama was gonna ensue between Declan and Eden. There is attraction from their first eye contact and they are drawn together. However, bad decisions sometimes causes them to be apart. Add on to a mystery a villian that I saw coming but still took me by surprise. A great love story with OlderW/YoungerM.

Passion knows no age, but jealousy will ruin any relationship should there be no trust

I'm Eden MacLaird, and Fate screwed me good at the age of twenty-one, stole my first love, then my first child. Twenty years later, I still haven't found my happily-ever-after. Sure, from the outside, I have it all, including Declan, my gorgeous, rich-as-sin husband. But things aren't what they seem, and catching Declan in bed with my best friend destroys any dreams I harbor for love, much less sexual fulfillment. Then in walks Sean Bennett... Just months away from earning his post-graduate law degree, Sean's smart, driven, and serious, but an unexpected encounter between us in a bar one night changes everything. His best friend, Trinitee, warns against getting too involved, but the heat between us is beyond intense, and neither of us are willing to walk away. With my marriage in shambles, I'm eager to make a go of it with Sean, despite our sixteen-year age difference. But while I relish my sexual reawakening, I fear giving up the posh life I've grown accustomed to. That life, however, and everything in it, comes crashing down as bodies start piling up around us, and all clues point to me and Sean. Secrets, betrayal, and revenge threaten to destroy not just my carefully-crafted reputation, but my very life. With our freedom at stake, Sean and I join forces to uncover those plotting against us. But as doubt and evidence mount, I must choose: give in to my suspicions and save myself, or trust our new-found love and save us both. (Amazon Blurb)
Passion as strong as Eden’s and Sean’s are both frightening and consuming: how can you live with an addiction that happens to be another person and they consume your every waking moment to such an extent that you’re incapable of listening to reason until you’re faced with evidence showing you’re the prime suspect for murder. Eden and Sean are intense, both searching for something instead found each other; their affair is scorching and albeit the fact that they have had family and friends warn them to slow down, the couple refuse to slow down. That is until they must work together to prove that they are not responsible for the piling bodies around them, which evidence points them as the guilty party. What a double genre novel! I must absolutely admit that I was slightly nervous when I first started reading that maybe I had already a similar storyline, but I kept reading and hoping – and am I glad I kept reading! Nancy Thompson took what I call the ‘standard my husband cheated on me and I’ll go find myself something else’ storyline and added a new twist and I loved it!! It’s suspenseful; it’s hot and quite frankly refreshing!! This is one author that I would highly recommend her novels to be added to anyone’s to be read list and as for the author herself: in this instance, adding her following links and finding out when her next releases are scheduled can only be an advantage.

Fulfilling career....Check

Loving Son...Check

Cheating Husband...Check

Eden knew that her marriage of convenience wasn't all she had hoped her life would be like when she was a young twenty-one year old. After losing the love of her life and her baby, she figured the security that Declan Ross would provide would help ease her pain and she figured she would eventually grow to love her husband, but twenty years later and she was wrong. Her husband merely glanced in her direction these days while going off to play big wig in the financial world and while she had a great career and wonderful son, her boring mundane life was just about to be thrown for a loop. After discovering her husbands secrets, she vows to take back control of the life she lost all those years ago. First stop was the bar where she met all her girlfriends for the night and where she also discovered someone who just stirred up emotions that she thought were long put to rest.

The little encounter Sean had with the hot-as-hell woman in the bathroom was just shy of, well...spectacular. As a grad student almost done with his law degree, Sean knew what he wanted and he wanted Eden. With the help of his best friend, he finds a way to stay in contact with her and hoping to find his in. He knew one scorching kiss was not going to do it for him.

As Sean and Eden discover that they might have something real, it all comes crashing down. Now with bodies piling up and the discovery of some long ago secrets, will these two have what it takes to make it to the end? Or will the lies be to much for them to handle?

My thoughts...

This book was exceptionally well written and edited, and Ms. Thompson can certainly tell a story. However, while I did like the book I found it almost predictable with the exception of the added character at the end. I won't go into great detail because I don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I found Declan Ross to be a despicable human being and he almost had coming to him what did. I understood how Eden was conflicted over her feelings for Sean. The age difference didn't bother me, but I felt like she was overly skeptical. I will say though that when you spend twenty years with someone and they do little to lift you up, you probably would be skeptical of people. Especially a much younger man. Sean would be described as this solid male figure but kept being referred to as a grad student. It was frustrating at times. I also have to wonder why everything was coming to a peak, where were Sean's family in all of this? I couldn't get past this.

I would give this book 3.5 stars and I know that seems contradictory from my review, but it helped that it was well written, but I didn't feel like all of the characters were developed as well as they could be. It was worth reading and maybe ya'll might have a different opinion.

Stirred is the first book I have read by Nancy S. Thompson. She's a fairly new author and her previous titles have been in the thriller / mystery genre. I was intrigued with the synopsis of Stirred. I love a good dark thriller romance and was excited to dive into this book. Stirred met my high expectations and went beyond what I was hoping for. I was glued to the pages. The plot was well executed. I was mystified until the final revelation/ scene played out. By that time I was completely floored. It was brilliant.

The book starts out in an unusual way that instigates suspicions from the beginning. The story is told through Eden McLaird's POV. It starts when she is an impressionable young woman that has experienced a devastating tragedy. She is easily manipulated. At this point in her life she has no desire to battle her grief and become a stronger person. Time has a way of taking care of a person's mind and heart. The book fast forwards to twenty years later.

Eden has become a stronger person in many ways. Her heart has healed. She has moved on in life and became a professional, a good wife, and a good mother. She has a successful career as an owner of a prestigious school. She has also pursued her dreams from her youth to become a published author. On paper her life looks perfect. To most people, including her friends, her life looks perfect. Appearances can be deceptive. She's regretting some of her choices twenty years ago. She is in an unhappy marriage and will remain in that marriage no matter what. At least that is what she believes until she meets a young man that changes her views on life.

What starts out as a seduction game for Sean Bennett quickly turns into a real quest of the heart. Although a relationship with a married woman isn't something he wanted, he can't turn his back on Eden.

The stakes are high. They are both being manipulated. Someone is out to destroy Eden and Sean is merely a pawn. Who is out to destroy Eden? Why do they want to destroy a good caring woman? Can Eden survive another heartbreak that may lead to the ultimate grief and devastation? It may lead to her death.

The answers are there between the lines in this sizzling hot erotic romance. The answers will come as a complete surprise.

Read Stirred by Nancy S. Thompson, it's a dark erotic thriller that will keep you Stirred until the end. Nancy S. Thompson has made my Must Read Authors list.

*I was provided a copy of Stirred by the author in exchange for an honest review. I am not compensated for my honest opinion.*

At forty-one, Eden MacLaird appears to have everything—a husband and son, a beautiful house, and a posh lifestyle. But her marriage is a sham, and finding her husband in bed with her best friend only makes her realize what she’s really missing: love. A chance meeting in a bar with Sean Bennett could change everything.

Sixteen years her junior, Sean awakens a sexual desire in Eden she’s long forgotten about. Just when she thinks she can have it all, a double murder points to Eden and Sean. As they get swept up in the investigation, long-buried secrets are revealed and Eden will have to decide if she really trusts Sean.

Stirred is an erotic romance with elements of mystery and suspense that will draw you in right from the prologue. There’s deceit, murder, intrigue, and of course hot sex. The relationship between Eden and Sean is built up nicely while Eden re-evaluates her world once she catches her husband and best friend in bed together and makes the resulting connection believable. The story is told in first person point of view from both Eden and Sean, giving the reader a solid understanding of where each character is coming from.

While the mystery continued until near the very end, there were plenty of clues along the way. Even though I essentially figured out what was going on, it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of seeing everything resolved. There were plenty of things left to learn, and Ms. Thompson has a way of shocking you with what happens.

That said, there were some scenes that were quickly summarized that I would have liked to see in more detail, like Eden’s discussion with her son. Ian was a major reason for Eden’s hesitation in continuing her relationship with Sean, yet he was mostly only included in passing. Some of the secondary relationships felt forced in order to make the plot work. Eden and Reely were supposedly best friends for years, yet Eden seemed to dislike Reely even before catching her in bed with Declan. Sean was best friends with Trinitee, who was several years younger than him, but he was always quick to point out her flaws and shared her life story with Eden without much prompting.

Despite some drawbacks, this was an entertaining, mysterious, steamy story. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Thompson comes up with next.

Oh My Word!

This was insanely and unbelievably incredible! The character dynamics, secrets, lies and drama in this novel was pure perfection. I have never read something that has twisted my mind in so many ways and shocked me to the complete end. Nancy S. Thompson has written a profound novel with extraordinary characters to the brim.

The story follows Eden MacLaird twenty years after the death of her baby girl Ivy. She lost Ivy and the love of her life, Jacob and was "forced" to marry Declan. Twenty years later, she still mourns the lost of her daughter, finds her husband sleeping with her best friend and can't find a way out. Eden is a teacher and an author. I enjoyed her character because as an erotic author she was completely inexperienced and in a loveless marriage. Eden was strong, yet weak. She determined yet naive. She was a literal walking contradiction. Most characters like her would have annoyed me, but it was just something so profound about her that I loved.

Sean Bennett is your average law student looking to have fun and bone a few women. Unexpectedly he meets Eden at his job, has his way with her sexually and then falls in love with her. Sean was a sexy, strong young man. I love how bold he was and how he continued to push the limits between himself and Eden. He was caring, loving, kind and determined in all ways.

The romance between the two of them bothered me at first simply because Eden was married, but the heat between them couldn't be denied. They fell for one another after that first kiss and even though they tried to ignore it and then take things slowly, they couldn't break away. What I love is that with all the drama of a murder case and being suspects that worked together to uncover the truth and still loved each other even harder.

Declan was a bastard from the Prologue to the end I just can't believe all that he did to Eden when it came to Ivy and Jacob. He was a bastard and deserved what he got. Especially since he cheated as well. Trinitee is crazy. I cannot believe who she really was, the truth of what Declan did and all the things she did in the name of revenge. I know understand her anger and hatred towards Sean when he got angry at her over Eden, but she is seriously crazy.

Overall, this was such a profound novel and I definitely plan to read more from Nancy Thompson.

Stirred is the first book that I've read by Nancy S. Thompson, and I must say I LOVED it! Eden MacLaird has been living a life that has left her numb. Fate has not been kind to her, and when she was 21, she lost everything that mattered to her. Now 20 years later, she's still married to a man that she could care less about. In fact, when she catches him sleeping with her best friend, she couldn't even bring herself to say anything. That night when she goes to meet her friends for "girls night," she meets Sean Bennett, and the connection is instant. The problem is that he's 16 years younger than her, and his best friend keeps warning him to not get too close. On top of that, bodies are piling up, and all signs point to Eden and Sean being guilty. Will they be able to reveal all the secrets before it's too late?

Stirred is filled with secrets, betrayals, and revenge, finally showing that things have never been what they seem. The character development is great, with an exciting, mysterious, and well written story line that flows smoothly. Nancy S. Thompson does a brilliant job in weaving together layers, that slowly unravel while keeping my heart pounding cover to cover. The love is raw, gritty, and intense, with EXPLOSIVE sexy scenes. The highly intense suspense factor made it impossible to put down until I had all the answers, as I had to remind myself that I wasn't in the story. I love romantic suspense, and Stirred had every element that made amazing, and I happily HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
