A heartbroken woman trying to start over, and a reclusive small-town doctor crash into each other’s lives only to discover what they were hoping to avoid—Love.
When Sidney Franklin shows up on Perez Island to open a bed and breakfast, she’s ready to start over. She’s disappointed with God, heartbroken over her ex-husband, and wants to forget her old life and begin a new one. When she finds out her neighbor is a Presbyterian Pastor she’s even more baffled with God than before. Why won’t He leave her alone?
As Sidney meets the town’s people, runs into conflict with the town doctor, sticks up for new friends, and begins to fall in love with the island, she discovers her heart isn’t so hard to God after all. But, when her ex-husband shows up and wants her to return to Seattle and give him another chance, Sidney is forced to make the hardest decision of her life. Will she leave the new life and the man she’s falling in love with, or will she go back to the man she vowed to love?
An Ordinary Love is about God mending our hearts, leading us to life in mysterious and humorous ways; it’s about the hard choices each of us are faced with, and learning to invite God into the process.

I love stories in all shapes and sizes. I particularly love children's and YA. I read all the time. For many sordid and lengthy reasons I have decided to homeschool my children this year. We live in Southern Chile. My novel, As Waters Gone By, is currently available and published with Leap Books.
I absolutely loved this book.It was more than a Christian Contemporary Romance. This was a fun, no nonsense book full of energy and healing with God's help The characters are strong, humorous and believable.I loved them all but Grandmother Astrid. She was a mean, hateful woman who needed more of the Lord in her life. Sidney the main character struggles to find her way back to God in turn helping her house mates, Betty and Candace find their way. The book deals with issues of infidelity. divorce, teenage pregnancy and straying from the Lord.. We are reminded to listen for that still small voice and take heed. Thank you,Tina for a book that makes you stand up and listen. I look forward to more books. An advance copy was given in exchange for an honest review.
Sydney has inherited a mansion and decides to make it a bed & breakfast. She's recently divorced, a former High School English teacher, doesn't know how to cook, and opens this B & B. Life on this Island is entertaining with many exciting moments that seem to originate at her B&B. Loved seeing how these challenges work out throughout the story. Highly recommend. Looking foward to reading other books from this author & this series:) Note that there is mild language that may be offensive to some. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.
An enjoyable, heart warming story. I really liked Sydney and the strong, straightforward way she dealt with the situations and people around her including her rather manipulative mother.
My one reservation is that I think the author never truly identified any sin as a sin, they seemed to me to be presented as lifestyle choices. I'm guessing this is to make the story seem more true to life but it just left me with a slight feeling of disquiet.
I loved this book! I loved all the characters. This book is set on a small island where everyone knows everyone and some are very opinionated. The different characters each had their own issues from dealing with marriage issues, divorce, infidelity, late teen pregnancy, or being hateful to anyone. In the end, everyone had to have courage to move forward with their decisions and lives.
This is an incredible book with vibrant characters and a great setting. From the first chapter, I wanted to visit Lopez Island and meet Sidney, Betty and Candace. Tina does an wonderful job creating characters that face real struggles with faith, marriage and relationships. I can't wait to see where the story goes next!
A great story. A divorcee, mad at God, mad at men. A gift of a bed and breakfast, and a person who doesnt cook. Interesting how God works it all out..... You will thoroughly enjoy reading this book I was given this book for my honest review
Easy to read and follow. Compelling storyline. I didn't care for the few uses of foul language. This story deals with affairs, divorce, and teenage/unwed pregnancies.
I liked this romance story. How to recover when your trust has been broken and dealing with loss how to love again. Perez Island was an interesting community with various characters who contributed to this story.
