Brew Crew #1

Limited Time Offer

Rate this book
Sex may sell, but their deal doesn’t include love…

Account Director Sloane Granderson has been given her orders by the CEO—tone down the antics of the “Brew Crew”, the guys at Huxworth Packard Advertising who work on their biggest account. Sure, they’re all puffed up, strutting egos, but they’re also the best and brightest creatives in Chicago. Including the newest recruit, disturbingly attractive Levi Wolcott.

Award-winning copywriter Levi is pumped to have been headhunted to Huxworth Packard to work on the beer account. But he’s not off to a good start when he and Sloane first meet in an embarrassing encounter in a hotel hall, and the Brew Crew’s merciless new-guy hazing doesn’t improve his shaky first impression. Even worse, Levi can’t ignore the intense attraction he has to Sloane.

Despite their mutual “hell no” when it comes to love, a moment of weakness makes Sloan and Levi believe business and pleasure can be kept separate, and maybe a little harmless sex isn’t that dangerous.

Or maybe it’s as harmless as a bomb with a lit fuse…

Warning: This book contains a hero with an award-winning, panty-melting vocabulary intent on the hard sell, and a take-charge businesswoman who doesn’t mind giving up control in the bedroom…and thinks panties are overrated, anyway.

Sloane Granderson is the Account Director for Huxworth Packard Advertising. This is a tough position for a woman since the industry is mostly men but she is well respected. She has been given strict instructions by the CEO—tone down the antics of the “Brew Crew”, the guys who work on their biggest account. They all have big strutting egos, but they’re also the best and brightest creative minds in Chicago.

Levi Wolcott is an award-winning copywriter and the newest employee at Huxworth Packard. Levi is pumped to have been headhunted to work on the beer account. But he’s not off to a good start when he and Sloane first meet in an embarrassing encounter in a hotel hall. Then add the Brew Crew’s merciless new-guy hazing and his already horrible first impression is magnified by ten. The only plus side is intense attraction he has to the gorgeous Sloane.

Sloane had a very unusual childhood…….she lost her mom went missing when she was young and she was pretty much forced to raise her younger sister and brother since their father pretty much checked out of his own life for a long period of time. Now her dad is remarried and as nice as her stepmother seems to be she can’t bring herself to spend much time with them or get invested in their lives. Levi on the other hand was a “later in life, oops” baby after his mother already had three daughters. He was spoiled by them all and it has seemed as if everything has come easy to him, his entire life. Their different upbringings seem to be the root of the problem once issues arose causing conflict and misunderstandings.

This is my first Kelly Jamieson book even though I have had several marked as TBR for a very long time. Now I am sorry I waited so long since this was a good book and over the top HOT…..super erotic!!!!!

A little less time spent on the world of advertising and a little more time spent on Sloane and Levi 's relationship would've made this a five star read. Because it was pretty smoking' hot.

Dear Author,

I don’t typically write my reviews in this format, but I REALLY needed to address an issue I had with this book. You probably would have received a higher ranking from me if this issue weren’t present. Especially considering the storyline was refreshing and entertaining.

Although I COMPLETELY understand that Levi has a filthy/dirty mouth in the bedroom, a reader (at least one like me), really doesn’t want to read this sentence while totally getting in to a hot and heavy scene: "he grabbed her snatch...". I know that coming up with alternative dirty words may be a difficult, but PLEASE don’t use the word snatch. It completely ruined “the mood” and I found myself turned off, not only from the scene, but also from the book in general, considering you used the word throughout the book.

If I weren’t a reviewer, I would have probably DNF’d this. But, I stuck with it and finished. Once I put aside the vocabulary, I was able to concentrate on the actual story, which by the way is really cute and sweet.

It was refreshing that the guy was the one who was the gigolo and fell for the girl. It was refreshing that the woman was professional, independent, wasn’t looking for a relationship and had to come to terms with life. I even enjoyed learning about the advertising scene from an employee’s perspective.

If you ever decide to edit this by changing the word snatch to something else, please let me know so that I can recommend this.

*I was given a copy of this book as a gift from The JeepDiva in exchange for an honest review.

Limited Time Offer was the first book in the Brew Crew series by Kelly Jamieson.

I’ve had this on my kindle forever, but for some reason had never read it. My loss, it was definitely read worthy.

Sloane Granderson originally met Levi Wolcott by accident while staying at a hotel during her condo renovation. They had poor impressions of each other. Then lo and behold, they were in for a surprise when Levi reported to his new job. He was a highly sought after advertising creative who was assigned as the newest member of the Brew Crew. And the first person he met was Sloane.

They were both gorgeous, confident, successful, strong willed and independent. And Levi, oh my, he oozed sex. He had the perfect boardroom persona with a dirty bedroom side. It made for a hot story. As for Sloane, I admired her too...until I didn’t. It was the big conflict near the end - and I totally didn’t like her callousness. No spoilers, so no details, but I lost the connection for a bit. But then I gained it again and all was well.

All in all, it was well written, well developed, fun, full of depth and humorous. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more.

I've read several books by Kelly Jamieson and it looks like this Brew Crew series will be right up there with her Heller Brothers hockey books. If you like hot guys, confident women, male and female commitment-phobes who fall hard for true love, and lots and lots of dirty talk, you will like Sloane and Levi and their shenanigans in Chicago at a top-notch advertising firm.

This book was heavy on hook-ups (between the H/h) and light on plot, but accounts supervisor Sloane and bossy-in-bed but new employee Levi are adorable together. Instant sparks, bad first impressions and office hazing pave a rocky path from meet-n-greet to burning-up-the-sheets, but Sloane and Levi are hilarious as they negotiate the misunderstandings. Powerful attraction morphs into something more and both have difficulty adapting to regarding themselves as a couple. I especially liked that Jamieson had a twist that the former manwhore was the one falling a little faster and harder. There are reasons for Sloane's hesitancy about relationships and that comes into play as a great part of the plot later in the book.

If you enjoyed the movie What Women Want with Helen Hunt and Mel Gibson, you will enjoy this book. Sloane could be Helen Hunt's twin, and Levi could give rascally Mel Gibson a run for his money, absent the blatant sexism regarding the competence of women in the office. Even the advertising firm's setting in Chicago is the same.

This first in the Brew Crew series is a light, enjoyable romance with near-perfect characters. A few personal challenges pop up, but they are beautiful, bright, likable people with good jobs and perfect apartments. Nothing too dark and distressing here. This is a perfect beach read, but be sure to bring a fan - Kelly Jamieson brings the heat.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

How do I know I'm reading a really fantastically written book? I'm so engaged that I don't realize how long I've been reading and I wind up late for work...oops! I innocently sat down to just read the beginning "blurb" for Kelly Jamieson's Limited Time Offer and an hour later I was still at it and running really late but strangely I was okay with that because this book is just that good, strike that not good, freakin' awesome. This is a new series for Ms. Jamieson and it takes place within an advertising agency; it is skillfully written with some great insight into the world of advertising and the balance between the creative types and the money people but in addition to that this was a solid yet highly erotic love story between two people convinced they weren't relationship people and didn't need someone special in their lives.

As an account director with Huxworth Packard Advertising, Sloane Gunderson has worked her way through the ranks and it well respected not to mention very good at her job. However the company's CEO has asked her to keep the guys on the "Brew Crew," the team working on the campaign for their largest client, under control. Easier said than done especially with the newest team member the one she can't keep her eyes off or her mind for thinking dirty thoughts about.

Changing jobs is never easy at Levi Wolcott is beginning to wonder if the made the right choice. Not only are his new team members hazing him but they are making him look bad in front of the firm's executives and a couple of clients. Add in the fact that Sloane already has a low opinion of him and he's thinking he might just be doomed especially given the fact that he wants nothing more than to have her under him every time he sees her.
I've grown to appreciate authors who can set the tone of a story in the first chapter and make the reader feel the heat between the hero and heroine from the first time they meet and Ms. Jamieson does both of those things very well. From the start I was hooked on this story and this was before it shifted over the office atmosphere and before Sloane and Levi found out they'd be working together. So much chemistry between these two and once they give in they can't stay away and it was so amusing to watch them deny there was more to them than just a good time and sex, then to realize they were in some kind of strange quasi-relationship where they didn't want each other to see other people, to falling in love not that either one was willing to admit it and left both of them running scared.

These two both had interesting childhoods which shaped their views on life and love and also affected the way they formed attachments; Sloane a very strange home life after losing her mom and Levi being the surprise baby that came along after three sisters making him quite the little prince whom things came easily to his whole life. While they thought their perspectives on life and love were quite alike, because of their backgrounds they were really quite different leading to a few moments of uncertainty and confusion.

I loved all the time these two spent together both in and out of the bedroom but holy hotness, in the bedroom they were smokin'. Some light bondage, some easy D/s play and a few other tricks made this one highly erotic story. However, this was only part of the story because as time went on they really did spend a lot of time getting to know one another and in addition their workplace scenes were equally interesting and made this one very well rounded story but at the heart of it all was the developing relationship between the two.

I've been a huge fan of author Kelly Jamieson's work for awhile but I have to say there was something extra special about this book; it was sassy and at times funny yet it was also tender and heart-warming yet it was also spectacularly sexy. In other words this book had it all and it was amazing and it is one of my favorites of 2015 by far.

This sexy contemporary romance, first in a new series, is the story of Levi and Sloane. Though their first meeting, outside a hotel room after a raucous bachelor party doesn't give Sloane the best impression of Levi, when she discovers he's her new copywriter she does her best to put it behind her and give Levi a second chance. Joining the 'brew crew' for their newest brewery ad campaign is an opportunity Levi couldn't pass up, and knowing his new boss has him at a disadvantage, he's determined to change her first impression of him and show her that hiring him was the right decision. But between the high schoolish antics of the rest of the team, and the scorching attraction he feels for Sloane, his usual charm isn't flowing quite as smoothly as usual. With a new job on the line, and a woman he'd like to see as much in the bedroom as in the boardroom, will Levi make the choices that lead to a future with the one woman he's fast discovering he can't live without?

I loved this story! So much playfulness and sexy charm come from Levi that his cocky arrogance is as appealing as his genuine friendliness. I liked how he put up with the antics of the rest of the advertising team, the creative types who sometimes took their joking with the new recruit a bit too far and could have gotten into a lot more trouble if Levi hadn't understood the nature of their teasing and let them have their fun, without appearing as a pushover. Levi is the everyman's friend - the wingman for the guys, the flirt for the girls, the perfect party type. Yet at the same time, scenes with him and his family show him to be a genuinely caring and supportive man.

Sloane on the other hand is not the free spirit that Levi is. She's a serious businesswoman, who has suffered a family tragedy that resulted in her having to grow up fast and assume responsibility for her younger siblings and for herself. She works hard and she's got the trust of her friends and the full support of her business colleagues. When Levi shows up, the control she works so hard to maintain goes out the window as the sexual chemistry between them leads to a full fledged affair outside of the office. While Levi might maintain a playful front, in the bedroom he is all business and the scenes between him and Sloane are super steamy (and plentiful). But while Levi is becoming more interested in Sloane and seeing what kind of future they could have together, Sloane is determined to keep things casual, not willing to cede that last bit of control that would mean she might have feelings for Levi beyond a sexual relationship. When they get to the inevitable crossroads, it's up to Sloane to see what Levi is really offering and decide whether it's worth the risk.

Besides the sexy and playful romance, I really enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the advertising agency as they work through developing a successful ad campaign for the brewery. The team has their ups and downs like any other, and accepting Levi into the fold doesn't happen without testing him to see his mettle. As well, with Sloane's position in management the reality of the sexist politics that often play out wasn't avoided but was brought up front and center. With some great characters, interesting storyline and a sweet and super sexy romance, this one is a winner. 5 stars.

I am a huge Kelly Jamieson fan.

It took me a bit to become invested in the characters in this book.

The newest copywriter to the Brew Crew, Levi, does not start off too well. The guys prank him and he is late for his first meeting after taking a long lunch.

His Account Director, Sloane, is someone he met already when she came out of her hotel room after having dealt with the noise of a bachelor party next door the prior night. Yep, Levi. Sloan figured he was the bachelor, but soon learns he was not.

Sloane has been tasked with making sure the guys on the beer account, the "brew crew" tow the line. Keeping them in line is going to be difficult, but she knows they are the best of the best, so she has to try to meet the expectations from her superior.

At first Sloane and Levi give one another a wide berth, but it soon becomes apparent there is chemistry.

Will it be a quick relations or will the two deal with the chemistry between one another and make a go of it.

Entertaining! At first I thought the Brew Crew were really silly and immature, but to be that creative, your inner child has to appear every now and then. Both Sloane and Levi had amazing people in their lives to support them when the road became just a little bit slippery. I liked the in depth look into the world of advertising. Everyone had a role to play and they performed them well! However, the sex scenes begin to interrupt the flow of a really awesome story.

My Review:
I really, really enjoyed this book. It's a fun, smart, sassy, contemporary romance that has a bit of an erotic edge. Seriously, how can that be bad?

This book takes place within an advertising agency. Levi's just been hired on and asked to join the illustrious brew crew creative team...the group that gets to work on the huge beer account. Everyone wants that account. Hello...research! And that's the whole team's attitude. They are irreverent creative types who let loose...a lot. Which isn't so great for Sloane.

Sloane is one of the executives at the advertising agency and she's been tasked by the owner to get the brew crew's antics under control. But Sloane has a bit of a history with Levi, and it definitely doesn't put him in the best light. So she's already not happy with him. Combine that with the brew crew's antics and her own forbidden chemistry with him and this is definitely a combustible situation.

And the two MC's in this book...love them. They have great chemistry...both with each other and with the other characters in the book. The dialogue is smart and witty. And there is enough fun moments that I kept smiling throughout the book. I really loved the scene away from the ad agency too...at the wedding. Really, really sweet scenes there.

I did really enjoy every moment reading this book. The advertising setting is completely fun especially since we get two very different viewpoints of it. Levi is the creative side. Sloane is the numbers and accounts business side of it. And although we get to see the two of them together a lot, there is a lot of behind the scenes within the company that is just really interesting. Even when Sloane and Levi weren't together on the page, I was completely enthralled by the book. That isn't normal for me. I like the focus to stay wholly on the MC's and while I understand the need for those other scenes, they usually don't keep my whole focus. In this book, they did. I really enjoyed every aspect of it.

Note: While I adored the ENTIRE book there is a reason this is a 4* book rather than a 5*. The opening scene is so similar to another book that I adore, it was hard to ignore. While it's probably completely a coincidence (I definitely understand how that happens) that book is also set in Chicago and so was just a bit too close for me to ignore the fact.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Sloane Granderson is the Account Director at Huxworth Packard Advertising in Chicago and the CEO has given her orders to tone down the "Brew Crews" behavior. These guys work on the biggest accounts and they work hard but the playing has become over the top. Including the newest hire, Levi Wolcott who distracts Sloane in the worst way.

Levi is a gifted copywriter and is beyond excited to have been headhunted to Huxworth Packard to work on the beer account. But he knows he's got more to prove to Sloane when she already has a bad impression of him. Due to the fact he and Sloane first met in an embarrassing situation in a hotel hall, and the Brew Crew’s never ending antics of hazing the new guy doesn’t improve her dislike of him. To make matters worse, Levi has this intense attraction to her that he can't ignore.

Neither does relationships and both have a dislike of love. Despite this they believe they can mix business with pleasure and that fickle love bug won't show its face...

I was given an ARC for an honest review. Kelly has outdone herself once again. Set in the city of Chicago, she has taken us into the world of advertising at Huxworth Packard and what can sometimes happen when working closely with co-workers.

In this new series featuring the "Brew Crew", we met Sloane Granderson, Account Director and Levi Wolcott, Copywriter. Sloane is a strong, confident, career minded woman with no time for a social life unless you count business dinners after hours. Know for not doing relationships, she's kept a wall around her heart for a long time. Levi is the golden child. Born into a wealthy family, he's oh so sexy, charming and things come easy for him. He too doesn't do the relationship thing but only because he can't see himself ever settling down.

When a brief and awkward first meeting happens between them two things are discovered. Sloane thinks very little of Levi with his partying ways and what happened for "his" bachelor party and he thinks she's prissy and uptight. Things couldn't be more different. When the two find out they work at the same firm, chemistry starts to fill the boardrooms and offices. After one night of drinks, all bets are off as they start a hot, steamy and sexy office fling. Or is it more than a fling? You'll learn as Sloane opens up, why she doesn't let anyone get close to her heart and Levi learns it's not so bad to have a relationship with the right person.

While I would love to give this 5 stars, I'd rate it a 4 1/2. I feel that some parts of the story jumped around a bit in the beginning. Maybe a little more background on the men and women who work at the firm. But with that being said, be warned, you'll fall for the dirty talking copywriter and confident account director. You'll also need a cool drink and an air conditioner as you follow the relationship that builds between the two.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I really liked the premise of this book, but parts of it just fell flat for me. Sloane is an Account Manager at a large advertising firm in Chicago and manages several accounts and the people that work on those accounts. During the course of the book, she's asked to rein in the "Brew Crew", a group of men that work primarily on beer campaigns, yet she seems unable/unwilling to do so. Some of the antics the guys get up to are little more than juvenile pranks but management seems unwilling to discipline them all in the vein of "boys will be boys" or "creative genius". The only person that seems to have a real problem with their behavior is the CEO and he discusses this issue several times with Sloane.

Why did I dedicate a paragraph of my review to this one point? Because Sloane is portrayed as a hard task master who demands perfection from the people who work for her. She's stern in one on one situations but in my opinion the author failed to give her authority when it comes to managing a group of people, be it men or women.

The romance between Sloane and Levi gets off to rocky start. She's not looking for romance or even a hook up. She's content with her life being all business having learned at a young age that when you love someone it often leads to heartache. Levi isn't looking for forever either. He's not really looking for anything beyond a little fun and a lot of sex. It only takes one night of steamy sex to hook them both, yet neither will admit to it.

Sloane and Levi were actually quite good together but there was some problematic elements to the book for me. 'Boys will be boys' is actually said at one point. And the guys in the office play juvenile pranks on each other with one including an auto reply email that says 'When I return, I will be known as Nancy rather than Scott'. Really not appropriate. Levi enjoys watching Two and a Half Men which says a lot.

There's also the constant perving of women. In the first few pages Levi must have 'assessed' the bodies of three women he interacted with. Which I know is probably accurate to real life but I'd rather not read about it. This is Levi describing a co-worker: 'Bailey was super cute too, little and blonde with a great rack, but somehow he had a feeling she was more than just a looker. Sloane wouldn't be helping her out if she were just a dumb blonde'. Every woman is judged on her attractiveness before her intelligence or anything else is considered. And that's so depressing to read and know that's reality for us. There are some positive moments like where Sloane tells the guys to change the end of their ad so it's not objectifying women. Sloane is strong and independent and a decent heroine. But overall I didn't enjoy a lot of the attitudes and behaviours on display that were apparently just the creatives having 'fun'.

This is really fluctuating between a 3.5 and a 4.

This was another nice easy read with likable enough characters, a pretty decent enemies to lovers romance, and The Big Problem at the climax was actually over something pretty reasonable (as in they had a right to be upset about it) and the problem was solved rather quickly and with great communication skills. It’s a great read when you feel you need to change up your romance book rut by adding a little bit more spice!

However, as other reviewers have said, there was probably too much focus on the advertising side of things. The main point of the advertising firm was basically so the characters would have to interact on a daily basis. It could have been any kind of corporate setting! It never helped the characters or served as an obstacle to them, which made you feel like you were reading two different books when you would go from a sexy scene to a work scene.

Also why the hell was Sloane not put in therapy after her mom disappeared?! There were 20 years of issues with her and her family and it was all just fixed after a discussion with them in a single weekend and the power of love with Levi?? No thank you!!

P. S. I probably will be reading the second one about Mason and Bailey because I love me some spice and the story and characters from the first were still very entertaining and I can’t wait to see them all again.

What a great start to a series! It has lots of interesting angles, and some fabulous humour ... let alone some hot as hell chemistry heating up the pages. I do recommend that you find yourself a good chunk of time to spare, as once you start it is difficult to put this down. It somehow manages to include everything you want, as well as everything you expect, but just make it that much better. It is cute, but not corny; there's a player, no wait, there are sort of two; career comes first, oh, really, says who?

Hugely entertaining, and lots of side characters who clearly need their story telling - and hopefully we get to catch up on old friends along the way - I cannot wait. Ms Jamieson has done it again - struck romantic gold!

a bit too dragged out with Sloane thinking so little of Levi - it makes sense, but even after she "sees who he is" - but otherwise, I think I remember liking it - it was nice that Sloane was such a strong character

I can see myself re-reading this book ... but I think I was more interested in what I felt would be the second book/characters

solid B, B- read

The first 6-7 chapters were tough to get through; the pranks and antics were just eye roll inducing. Sadly I skimmed through the rest of the book because:
-Levi came off as really immature (so did all the rest of the guys in the office)
-the overuse of 'baby' endearment
-the fine line between cringeworthy and hot
-Their romance didn't really match up

What I liked

I bought this as I am a long time fan of Kelly Jamieson. I love her light, contempoary romances and this one was one I’d heard great things about. Alas, it didn’t really work for me.

I always love the boss/employee trope and this one had all the marks of a gripping example. She is the high-powered manager tasked to bring the “brew-club” to order (nice role-reversal from the norm there!). He is the newest addition who needs to fit in with the other (stupid) men who also happens to be attracted to the hot boss who has to keep reprimanding him. There was a delicious kind of tension created by this kind of set ups and I had such high hopes! At the start of the book, I was completely engrossed…

Another thing I really did enjoy was all the dirty talk when they finally started sleeping together. We all know I love a dirty talking hero and Levi certainly managed to tick all the boxes after he finally convinces Sloane to sleep with him. The sex scenes are a major selling point for this book 🙂

What didn’t work for me?

The dialogue often fell flat for me and it felt very disjointed. Sometimes Levi sounded like a serious contender for hot hero status and other times he sounded like a daft frat-boy who made me roll my eyes. During those scenes, I wasn’t invested in the romance and so I couldn’t quite sink into the story the way I wanted.

The “brew-club” also pissed me off immensely. They were also like a bunch of frat-boys, playing childish pranks on each other (instead of working more often than not) under the guise of “blowing off steam” or “developing creativity”. Realistically, they just pissed me off and I spent the majority of their scenes irritated and bored.

One line summary

A light Boss/employee romance between a dirty talking hero and his straight laced boss.

Levi is trying his best to quiet down his friends in the hotel room he rented for the night. Granted, it is his best friend’s bachelor party, and yes he did hire a stripper for the night. Twice, security has knocked on the door and given them a warning, but it hasn’t helped. When he leaves the next morning, he runs into a beautiful woman that apparently was staying in the room next door. Apologizing to her for all the noise, she basically gives him the cold shoulder. Arriving at his new job at one of the largest advertising agencies in Chicago, he is pumped. When his new boss introduces him to all the executives in the company, Levi is shocked to see the woman from the hotel, and her name is Sloan. The group of guys he will be working with call themselves, The Brew Crew, due to the fact that they work on ad campaigns for several beer companies. As an initiation prank, first they take him out to lunch and get him drunk, telling him it’s research for the ad campaign. Second they rig his computer so it looks like he’s watching Porn while working. When Sloan sees what is on his computer, she thinks that maybe it was a mistake to hire him.
Sloan knows she’s being extra hard on Levi thinking he’s the one that’s getting married. However, when Sloan finds out the truth about his single status and the pranks that were played on him, she makes a decision to go to his apartment to apologize. How they ended up in bed is still hazy to her. As they begin a sexual relationship, both of them are starting to have feelings for each other. Sloan has never done relationships and Levi is not far behind. How can they move forward if neither one is willing to admit the truth.
As with any book that Kelly Jamieson writes, you won’t be able to put it down!

I love this book. I love the characters.  The dialogue is sharp and smart and laced with humor. Levi is the great guy, the veritable bachelor who happily stays in the category. He is the Prince in his family of older sisters, He is King Midas where all things go his way. He is concieted and cocky just shy of being a dick. Sloane is a smart strong powerful woman. She is sharp and intelligent, Powerful in her job, and stern but fair boss. She is content with her life, content in her abilities at work. The chemistry they have together is off the charts. They come together each with the thoughts its only temporary, here for a good time, i dont do well in relationships. Well they have a good time, a REALLY good time together. I love when the forever bachelor changes his mind slowly wanting to be with her more and more and not just for good time sex. She has some deep rooted history to keep herself from commiting too much.  A wonderful story of a sweet and steamy hot build up to a full relationship with all the ups and downs that comes with it. They are not perfect but they work well together. Thats why this is a perfect story.

Sloane Granderson just wants a decent night sleep at the hotel she's been forced to during some home remodeling but it seems the guys in the room next door plan to party all night long with what sounds like a woman of questionable repute.. The last thing she wanted was to share an elevator with one of the guys the next morning, unless it was to find out he was the new hire at the ad agency where she worked.

Levi Wolcott is a serial dater who doesn't do relationships. Finding the account director at his new job is the same woman he met at the hotel has him intrigued but not ready to change his mind about dating. Over the next few days Levi questions his decision to change jobs while he slowly comes to terms with his growing feelings for his boss.

Sloane gets shocking news that rocks her world and confirms she isn't the relationship type just as Levi realizes he wants something permanent with Sloane. Will these two ever get on the same page?

My 3 star review is due to several abrupt subject or pov changes, some topics that were never resolved, and the worse part was the excessive sex scenes which were greatly responsible for the excessive length of the book.

This was not terrible, although the sex scenes were a bit cringy, and the whole "beer is for dudes" scenario was kind of annoying, but

I did appreciate the entertainment value of reading adjacent to my industry, although I've never worked at an agency, and I doubt they're quite as wild as this, but it was entertaining. At the beginning, when he said he was going to his beloved fancy car, I was like, NOPE! copywriters, even Cannes Lions winners ARE NOT actually rich... And then when Sloane said the same thing and it turned out it was because he was rich to begin with. Hah!

Sloane and Levi's first meeting isn't under the best of circumstances. She is in the hotel room next door to a bachelor party Levi is throwing for his friend. She misconstrues some things and doesn't make any bones about her dislike of him. Levi tries to let her know that all isn't what she thinks, but Sloane didn't want to hear it at first. I didn't like her for much of this book because she was in her head making assumptions and not listening to others. She did have a tragic past with her mom, but that didn't excuse her adolescent behavior when it came to relationships. Levi was pretty standup and didn't shy away from any mistakes he made. I did like that he didn't run from his feelings, but embraced them. Sloane was so wrong to hide what was going on in her life when it is unexpectedly upended and instead chose to be a martyr. I felt she needed to apologize way more than she did to her family and Levi. The ending was good for them but I wanted a better epilogue.
