The annihilation of New Haven was only the beginning. With King Cyrus on the run and a forbidden past yet to be discovered, Echo Abbeny is finding that her entire existence relies solely on one thing—the acceptance of her gifts as a hybrid and the godly abilities she can’t even begin to understand–or control. As they both vie for her heart, Ayden and Kahl are proving to be an even greater temptation than she could have ever dreamed of. Rumors of a mysterious kingdom in the Sunken City begin to spread like wildfire, spurring chaos between the Xavians and a race against the king. Every move will be watched and death lurks at every corner. A war will be fought and there will be blood to pay.

As one of the last oracles on earth, Echo will have to trust herself like never before.

"...If I'm going to do anything at all, if I'm going to promise and swear it on the last bit of sanity this world allows me, Echo, I'm going to risk it all on you. I want to give you a forever."

My heart was heavy from the very beginning of this book. I was holding the last installment of this trilogy and I pushed it aside as much as I could so I didn't have to see it end. But... as you can see. I am now writing a review which means... I have finished it. This is such a bittersweet moment for me...
This book started amazingly. Nadege became a favorite author of mine as soon as I read the first book in this trilogy and I'm happy to say that she didn't disappoint me once. She created such memorable characters that went through hell in order to do what was best for their people. They endured things nobody should ever endure and for that, I think the world of them. The plot line was intriguing all the way and had me flipping the pages in anticipation of more even when I wanted to slow down.
Let's talk about my favorite character,(besides Echo) Ayden... The man that we begun this journey with alongside Echo. The man that has been given his own POV in every one of these books and managed to captivate me and leave me weak in the knees at every turn of the page. In my eyes, Ayden is P.E.R.F.E.C.T. In every meaning of the word. I don't care about the bad things he has done because he makes it up to us (an Echo, of course) tenfold. The words that fell out of his mouth were utterly hypnotizing. I melted so much at them that I was afraid I would permanently turn into a puddle. His every word, every action, his motivation and reason for fighting, were all in the name of those he loves. To be loved by Ayden is a miracle and a feat I wish I were a part of... I just can't believe he doesn't exist in this world. (It's completely unfair, Nadege!)
Ayden and Echo are one of the most perfect couples I have ever read about. I rarely stand behind a coupling as forcefully as I did this one. THeir every challenge was mine and their every joyful victory was mine as well. Nadege hit the lottery with this coupling. She created a formidable bond between two formidable characters that will be the light in my life forever and always. I was honestly in awe of Echo. How she managed to not faint at the perfection that is Ayden will forever be beyond me.
Now for the important question... where is MY Ayden?
There was a character that a part of me will never forgive Nadege for introducing me to... and his name is Kahl. Oh, how he tore my heart to pieces. This man... I have no words. I can't describe what he did (and still does) to me. My heart was owned completely by Ayden since the very beginning but Kahl gave me a run for my money in the most agonizing of ways. Let's just say that I wish there were a parallel universe where I could keep him. I miss him so much already. And everybody else for that matter.
There was one revelation I saw coming miles away but other than that, Nadege threw stuff at me that I did not see coming. Like some surprise POV's! There was action, betrayal, tears, anger and lots of love. So many things happened and I am immensely proud of how this trilogy ended. Nadege gave us the perfect ending and I just want to reread it for the rest of my life because of how bubbly it made me inside.
And for a second quote (something I rarely do) to end this fantastic and memorable trilogy...
"You can live in the now and make it worthwhile, make of it what you wish and lock it away in the deepest of hearts, and no matter how far, no matter how long... every moment, every kiss, and every smile remains the same. A portrait of forever."

This is the third and final instalment in Richards Bleeding Heart Trilogy. Fleeting Fires is set just a few short months after Burning Bridges and Echo has grown so much in this time she almost isn't the same girl. Richards has packed so much in to this portion of Echo's story that it's possible for the reader to feel like they are on the road with Echo and her people, never stopping, never slowing down always on the go. And for those moments when we are standing still, like Echo you feel a sense of urgency and a need to keep reading.

The reason I haven't given this book the full 5 stars is because there were a few issues with some of the characters timeline. From people who shouldn't be able to remember the things they can, to people that just don't seem to fit with their story... I know that things all become clear as the story progresses, but I noticed the issues as I was reading and I felt that the characters should also have noticed.. which would have made reading easier for me.. as it was I was so confused and adamant that I must have missed something, to the point that I reread whole passages.

Something that also added to my confusion is the fact that it has been so long since I read Deceiving Destiny (18 months) so some of the details I was a little vague with, so I strongly recommend that you give the first two books a reread before embarking on this the final leg of Echo Abbeny's journey.

Richards writing has progressed so much in the last two years since writing Burning Bridges, I cant wait to see how it develops over the next two years.

Wow!!! What a great way to end a series. This book is non-stop action from the very first page up to the last and if you have read the first two books in the series this book must be read. You will not be disappointed. If you have not read this series I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a paranormal read that’s full of love, loss and determination to protect those you love at all costs. Echo’s past and present collide in the form of Kahl and Ayden. Kahl and Echo share a bond; he wants the girl he fell in love with so long ago but Echo is no longer Aleksandria and her heart now and will forever belong to Ayden. Kahl has answers to Echo’s past and his need to give Echo those answers as he sees fit quickly becomes a question of whether or not he can be trusted. However, Cyrus needs to be stopped and Echo along with the others is determined to put an end to all of the destruction he has caused. The countdown is on and Echo has more unanswered questions than she does answers but time is running out and whether or not she has the answers the battle must be fought. Seeking help she needs from the King she learns that not everyone and everything is as it seems and line between friend and enemy can quickly be crossed. This book is our final journey with Echo as she goes from the princess she didn’t want to be to the leader she needed to be to save those she loves.

An amazing read that didn't leave me unsatisfied. Echo has so much character development throughout all three books and I love that. I also really likhat no matter how strong Kahl comes on to Echo she knows exactly who her heart lies with. Not only that, but she isn't one of those girls constantly worrying about a million things at once. She focuses on the task at hand and does whatever it takes to complete it. She reminds me a lot of princess Jasmine. She's strong, stubborn, and certainly no damsel in distress. We need more women like Echo in the YA world. This book was quite adventurous which is something big for me. I love to feel like I'm on a journey when I'm reading a book and this one did it for me. I'm sad to see it end, but the ending was beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. I can tell that Ms. Richards poured her heart into this novel and worked very hard on it. I can't read more works by this wonderful author.

This was a great ending to the trilogy! I loved the struggles and frustrations Echo went through to the bitter end, and how she kept learning more and more about herself as she fought to defeat King Cyrus.

And there were so many twists and turns throughout the book!

I do have to say, I wanted to throttle Kahl. I was so over him trying to be Echo's "one" and he kept making things 10 times harder for her. I mean, she has A LOT going on, she doesn't need to make him feel better because she doesn't obsess over him as much as he does her. Jeez, move on.

I'm so glad I was able to read and edit this series by this wonderful, talented author. When I get my physical books, I'm going to re-read them and enjoy the story rather than look for errors and really appreciate the world that Richards has created.

I would definitely recommend this series to other readers. Just being able to get sucked into this series is a good way to spend hours :)

In this last action packed ending of the trilogy, the group have to travel farther then they ever thought they would. It seems the Gods are against them at every turn, but more clues are dropped for Echo to figure out. Echo learns how powerful her powers are, but she also at times dont know what or who is real and who isnt. And they still dont know who they can trust and who they cant. They do have a higher power watching over them trying to guide them. But with the loss of 1 of the characters you grow to love, you want even more for the group to win. All the clue pieces come together to help the group survive.

This book just keeps building and building till the end.....So glad I had the chance to read this great series!!!! Cant wait to read more by Nadege Richards!!!
