Outage: Vengeance is book 3 in the Outage Series by T. W. Piperbrook. The author uses the characters’ own thoughts and point of view perspective as a narrative tool to build suspense effectively. The entire first trilogy of books occurs on one stormy night.

A Connecticut snowstorm of historical proportions hits New England, causing blackouts that drive people from their homes. As if the stakes are not grievous enough, packs of werewolves are taking advantage of the situation and preying on the New Englanders. Now that the final hours wane and dawn approaches, Tom Sotheby knows that he only has to survive for a few more hours.

A fast-paced, suspenseful read with enough gore and blood gushing situations to make any horror aficionado joyous.

What a darn good scary mini-series. This is the 3rd book in the Outage trilogy. Do yourself a favor and buy the collection of all 3 stories (only $2.99). You will treat the collection as one long story (instead of 3 novellas). Lots of werewolf brutal action. Blood and gore deluxe.

Possible hints for a 4th story sometime in the future. H'mm, I would read a 4th, but it it turns out to be another trilogy, I will wait until THAT comes out. Good horror! Perfect setting.

I absolutely love this series! I haven't had a book scare me and keep me in this much suspense since I read Stephen King's 'Salems Lot' 28 years ago. The fact that we had a storm and our power went out while I was reading it heightened the suspense. I'm not usually one for werewolf books, because I've always found them boring and unrealistic in the way they were written. Quite the opposite with these books!! I can't wait to read book #4!!

Gory on-the-edge-of-your-seat fast-paced stories with werewolves during a snow storm.

Loved the charachters and Piperbrook makes the story interesting with some unexpected twists.

A solid part 3 and so called conclusion of the story.
It does not feel like the end to the story and the author himself notes that there might be more to come.
The long night is over and we have a conclusion of sorts but clearly there is far more to explore and I hope Tyler writes it.

Amazing

This series has punched way above it's weight class so far. Three books to chronicle one endless night of horror could easily have fallen back on simple cliches and pop out scares but this...this author has crafted a masterpiece up there with the bane counties and the werewolf hunters of the genre, replete with feints twists and drops sprinkled into endless gore. Round of applause.

I absolutely loved this book, number three in the Outage series and there is not even a trickle of padding in any of them. This is teeth grinding stuff and I feel so sorry for the last remaining character who is a hero. I feel as if I’m part of the story and very thankful that I’m not. It’s an outstanding read and I really recommend it.

Great Ending

This was a really great ending to the series. What happened to the people that came to the shelter was awful. The ending and the tie back to Rosemary’s kids came out of nowhere! I’m glad that they were alive but I didn’t see that coming.

The Outage series reminds me a little of 30 days of night but with a shorter time frame and a blizzard and werewolves instead of vampires. :)

You don’t know who to trust, you don’t know when the werewolves are going to attack and if you can just make it till morning. Tom has only a few hours left till day break and Rosemary and him has finally made it into town. Rosemary is trying to find her children and they were suppose to go to a shelter so that is where they head.

Carnage is what they see when they get there though and it looks as if the place has already been attacked. They do find some fellow survivors but after everything thing that Tom has been through he doesn’t know if he trust them at first.

It’s down to the last few hours and the werewolves are coming and they only have a few guns with the right kind of bullets. It’s pretty much every man or woman for themselves when the they come, though Tom does his best to protect everyone.

Tom has about had it with all these werewolves and he has seen so many people die so he doesn’t mind taking out as many of them as he can. I still find it hard to believe that this one man has survived what nobody else seems to have survived but I guess he has one heck of a will to live. :)

This book wraps things up pretty good at the end but it does leave an opening for more problems and I am guessing there is more coming since I just seen there is now a book four. So I am curious to see what else is going to happen to poor Tom! :)

If you like werewolf horror stories then you might enjoy this series and you can get the box set of the first three at a great price so give it a try!

If you've read book 2 in the series, 'Vengeance' feels like more of the same. People trapped in a room with no means of escape. Check. Werewolves lurking outside waiting to devour those people. Check. Some people are not what they appear to be. Check. The 'twist' at the end. Check. Sound familiar? Stories don't have to always be original, but when you rehash the previous book in a series, you know there are issues.
I couldn't help but wonder 'what are the werewolves waiting for' when reading this one. The creatures knew the people were inside and they could have broken in at any time. Guess there wouldn't have been much of a book if they had.
The author has created an interesting scenario for book four. The werewolves have lived amongst us in hiding, but now there are survivors that know about their existence. How will people go about searching for these creatures disguised as humans and will innocent people be persecuted? Or will the storm continue on into the next night and the werewolves continue the hunt? The first seems like the more interesting route with the hunters becoming the hunted, but the author will probably take the easy way out and give us more of the same with a continuing storm and more people getting killed by werewolves.
Overall this was a disappointing effort. I will read book 4 eventually, but not any time soon.

Fantastic story with unbelievable suspense....in just waiting for the dawn. I had to devour this in one sitting (as I did with the others) and it was exhilarating! I just couldn't put it down. Well done!

Wow, well worth reading

I couldn't believe that after all Tom has been through, he continues to hang on to life. Meeting survivors and never really knowing who to trust. I can't wait to find out what happens next.....

This series keeps getting better, it is graphic, gory and is still full of unexpected turns.
Tom is a great character with an amazing will to live. I find myself rooting for him more and more.
I liked the note at the end from Tyler that explained where his idea for the book originated.
