I was hooked from the first page! I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished Behind the Falls.

Noah tells the story in Behind the Falls while Cure alternates the telling of the story between two characters. If you read Behind the Falls the first several chapters of this book will be familiar to you. If you haven’t read Behind the Falls (What are you waiting for? You should really read it!) then you can certainly read this book without missing anything. But! I can’t recommend Behind the Falls enough. I think you need to get to know Noah. I LOVED Noah even if he broke my heart over and over and over.

Rarely do I read books that feature same-sex couples. In fact, Behind the Falls and Cure are the only two books I can think of that I have read. It’s not a genre or subject matter that I usually seek out. I’ll be honest here, it makes me a bit uncomfortable. You may ask then why I’ve read these two books. The answer is simple, peer pressure from my reader friends led me to Behind the Falls. When I finished that book, I knew I needed more. Seriously though, I’m so glad that I read these two books. Ms. Zalegowski does a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life. Each one is superbly written, heartbreakingly so. As I was reading I never pictured a same-sex couple, I was simply reading about two people in love. For me it was a story of first love and gender didn’t enter my mind.

Behind the Falls was one of my Top 5 books in 2015. I’ve been patiently (okay, not so patiently) waiting for Cure. The ending of Behind the Falls left me wanting more and Cure has cured (see what I did there) all of my problems with the open ending (in my opinion) of Behind the Falls. I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book. I needed to know how it would end. Would Noah be okay? Would his relationship with Max survive? I’m happy with the ending. I have closure but could absolutely see another book. I’d love to have more Noah and Max in my life!

I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.

I rarely write a real review for a book. Usually just post something on Facebook, or tell people if I really liked it or hated it. This book however, needs a review.

As the story starts, we are hearing a condensed version of the first book, Behind The Falls, but from Max's point of view. What I need to let everyone know is, the story then picks up from where Behind The Falls ends. It is not just the same story told by Max. I was afraid at this point, it was just going to tell the whole story from Max's point of view, and nothing more. I needed to know what happened after Behind The Falls.

I was not disappointed, as I continued. So if you loved Behind The Falls, you will love this book. We do find out what happens to Noah and Max. I thought the author did a fabulous job continuing the story. I loved this book.

I just love Max and Noah. After reading Behind the Falls I had a massive book hangover. I couldn't stop thinking about them. Thankfully, along came Cure. I got to know Max a little better and Noah a LOT better.

The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the retelling of the story from Max's point of view. I thought that Ms. Zalegowski did such a wonderful job in Behind the Falls that I felt I already knew how Max was feeling.

But I love happy endings! :)

I read Brenda Zalegowski's first book and loved it so much I wondered how she could ever top "Behind the Falls". I might have even had a few worries that reading a second book that was mediocre would somehow lessen my love for the first book. Silly me! I enjoyed this novel just as much as I did the first book by this author. I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it...and the next morning I reprimanded myself for rushing through it. I just wanted it to last longer. The two young men, Max and Noah, make my heart ache because I feel so much for them. At the same time, I am so proud of them and am happy to see the world though their eyes. Yes, at times, it's sad, but meanwhile they are learning about life and in the process we are learning as well.

I sincerely hope Ms Zalegowski understands the power of her words and the gift she shares with the public by publishing novels like this. Subjects not often discussed or understood are explored in such ways where you're forced to confront them...and I hope the world is a better place because of it...

Different point of view

Enjoyed Behind the Falls, happy there was a follow up with Cure and now I'm hoping for a third that seemed to be hinted about Derek - I absolutely love how familiar you make the story feel with the places & just certain things referenced and how the characters just feel so "real"

I wish I could give this book 3 1/2 stars. it's better than some I have given 3 stars to but not as good as those I have given 4 stars. I don't know what to say about this book beyond that.
