Wow! This read! 🔥 Intense eye contact, calm, and poise during a cross examination gives Micah Graves pause, and makes him wonder who is Dr. Zuri Bennett? Dr. Bennett spends her days finding answers from the dead as the chief medical examiner. When these two continue to bump into each other around town, with an attraction already brewing, they fall into an easy groove.
Meanwhile, Detective Rhodes has bodies dropping across town with no suspects, and no clues, with his frustration at an all-time high. He is determined to find the person responsible. As he is digging, he accidentally finds a link to a suspect. But this person can't be responsible, right? His gut is never wrong, so he goes with it.
Micah and Zuri have become solid, with seemingly nothing to interrupt their relationship. Until Micah uncovers secrets that could potentially put him in a tough situation. What will he do with what he learned? How will Zuri respond? Can they overcome this huge obstacle? 🤯😮👀

There are some books you enjoy in the moment, and then there are books that linger with you long after you’ve turned the final page—quietly replaying in your mind when you least expect it, making you rethink certain scenes, choices, and emotions days later. Mine by T.K. Fletcher is absolutely the second kind.
Going into this story, I expected a romantic suspense with a bit of mystery, tension, and maybe a few twists woven in to keep things interesting. What I actually got was something far more layered, emotionally charged, and thought-provoking than I anticipated. This book doesn’t just tell a love story—it explores trauma, grief, justice, accountability, forgiveness, and the deeply personal ways our past experiences shape how we love, trust, and navigate the world around us.
What stood out immediately is that Mine refuses to offer easy answers. There are no clean moral lines here, no simple “right” or “wrong” that the reader can comfortably settle into. Instead, the story constantly invites you to sit in discomfort, question motivations, and wrestle with what feels justified versus what simply feels understandable. It challenges you to think beyond surface-level reactions and really consider the emotional weight behind every decision.
At the heart of the story are Micah and Zuri, and I was completely drawn into their dynamic from the start. Their connection is immediate and intense, but what makes their relationship so compelling is everything that exists beneath that initial spark. Both characters are deeply shaped by their pasts, and those experiences influence how they love, how they protect themselves, and how they respond to fear, vulnerability, and trust.
Their relationship is not built on perfection or ideal circumstances—it is built on honesty, emotional risk, and the difficult process of confronting truths that are painful but necessary. There are moments where they are forced to be completely vulnerable with each other, and those moments feel raw and authentic rather than overly romanticized. Watching them navigate trust, emotional walls, and the fear of being hurt again made their story feel incredibly grounded and real.
One of the strongest aspects of this novel is how fully realized every character feels. There are no simple heroes or villains here. Instead, every character exists in shades of gray, shaped by their own wounds, motivations, and justifications. Even when I didn’t agree with certain choices, I could still understand where they were coming from, and that complexity made the story feel more human. It also made the emotional impact hit much harder because nothing felt one-dimensional or predictable.
The writing itself is another standout element. T.K. Fletcher has a way of crafting lines that make you stop and sit with them for a moment. I found myself highlighting multiple passages because the reflections on grief, healing, survival, and emotional resilience were so striking. This is a story that understands healing is not a straight path—it is messy, nonlinear, and often uncomfortable. Growth doesn’t come from avoiding pain, but from facing it, and that message is woven throughout the narrative in a way that feels both honest and intentional.
The suspense element also kept me fully engaged from beginning to end. There is a steady build of tension that runs parallel to the emotional arcs, and just when I thought I had things figured out, the story would shift and reveal another layer I wasn’t expecting. THIS BOOK !!!
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the book:
"Healing is rarely instantaneous. It is found in the difficult decision to face the truth, to seek help when it is needed, to extend grace where it is deserved, and to keep choosing a better tomorrow." (I understood this much more toward the end of the story).
"The body remembered everything a person tried to forget. People healed around old pain but your body documented it anyway."
This held me !
Regarding my feedback, I initially thought I was about to be left on one of the best cliffhangers of my life, waiting on the edge of my seat for a part two
The ending felt a bit rushed to me, though I understand the choice to wrap things up neatly. I definitely would have stuck around for a Season 2, and a flashback to nine years ago would have made for an amazing storyline. I found myself clutching my teeth as the pages got thinner, wishing the story could last longer rather than coming to an end.
But to hit the END on low oxygen would have been so GREAT!!!!
I was also a bit confused by the point-of-view changes at one stage; at one point, I actually thought there were four distinct POVs instead of three. However, a specific line from one of the characters caught me off guard and made me realize exactly what was happening—that twist was great!
It was also really interesting how Rhodes wanted to check in. I thought they got rid of the box, but when it clicked, it seemed like they pushed Rhodes in the right direction and basically gave her an out. How could she be a stalker and a killer at the same time? It felt as though they knew he was coming, and somehow he protected her while knowing she was the killer. This story definitely could have supported many POVs. That said, I am glad he didn't just give in and go back so quickly, and that he held her accountable to an extent.

This story definitely had me on edge of my seat. Dr. Bennett was your regular hardworking woman who took what she did very seriously as a small town medical examiner. But Dr. Bennett has some dark secrets and trauma that will reveal once she gets the heart of handsome attorney Mr. Graves who people has label him a devil in the courtroom. This story was very well written and good. This was my first time reading from this author and I would like to thank her for the opportunity for allowing read it before it dropped. I look forward to reading more from her!

This was a suspenseful read that kept me intrigued. I loved the mix of romance, obsession, and murder, and the chemistry between Zuri and Micah added another layer. There were definitely moments that had me questioning some things! This was an entertaining ARC with enough twists to keep me turning the pages.

This was a good read! I love how it dealt with different ways trauma can manifest when not completely dealt with. I'm glad Micah stuck it out with Zuri but I hope there is a part 2 that goes a little more in depth about the Vaughn's.

This book? Unhinged excellence.
The story itself delivers everything I want: perfect pacing, addictive drama, and just enough emotional depth to make me pretend I’m reading for character development instead of pure chaos.

This one had me intrigued from Chapter 1!
When multiple bodies begin popping up around town, Detective Rhodes is tasked with figuring out who is behind the killings. The premise immediately grabbed my attention, and I was invested in finding out who was responsible.
In my opinion, I wish the actual investigation had been more of the main focus instead of the story following Micah and Zuri. I would have liked to see more of that but I understand that, that was a subplot.
The suspense was definitely there, and the story kept my attention. However, I didn’t find myself completely shocked by any of the twists or revelations.
Overall, this was a decent suspense/thriller with an intriguing premise!

Zuri and Micah first met under interesting circumstances based on their careers but when they saw each other again at a coffee shop and got to talking, you could see there was some interest there and as they book went on we saw them grow into a relationship that seemed to happen naturally. However, as you continue to read you come to see everything isn't as it seems. This was a good romantic suspense because while we see the romance brewing with Zuri and Micah we also have this mystery of these men being killed and trying to see who is committing these murders, are they all connected and is this a serial killer situation. Now, me being me, I was able to figure things out halfway through but I didn't feel like it took anything away from the story and if anything it made me want to know the why behind it more.
I liked how this book touched on how your past experiences can shape your present day behaviors. Family was a big part of the story as well on both sides but in different ways and I liked the connections made with other side characters mentioned in the book too. When everything was said and done, Zuri and Micah went through some things and it was interesting to see what one will do for love but I was happy with how everything was wrapped. That bonus chapter at the very end had me saying okay, well played. If you like romance books with spice and suspenseful elements that keep you guessing then this is a good one to check out.

Now this story was well thought out and planned. It was paced well and I don’t know about you but I love trying to figure out what’s going on in real time when reading a book. Definitely had to have my thinking cap on for this one. If you’re like me and love a book that touches different tropes dive into this. This book is definitely a ride but so worth the read. TK did an amazing job with fleshing these characters out I truly felt invested in their stories.
I truly loved this book so much. This was the first time I got the chance to read a book based off of my hometown ( shout out to Shreveport, La) and it made me so excited. I read Southern Maid and was ready to take that 3.5 hour drive back home to get a box or two 😂. I read about Shreve high school and did a little two step for my Alma Mater. Getting to read about the streets, businesses and neighborhoods and places I visited on a daily in my youth being spoken about in this book was so intriguing.

Definitely had to have my thinking cap on for this one. If you’re like me and love a book that touches different tropes dive into this. This book is definitely a ride but so worth the read. TK did an amazing job with fleshing these characters out I truly felt invested in their stories.
I truly loved this book so much. This was the first time I got the chance to read a book based off of my hometown ( shout out to Shreveport, La) and it made me so excited. I read Southern Maid and was ready to take that 3.5 hour drive back home to get a box or two 😂. I read about Shreve high school and did a little two step for my Alma Mater. Getting to read about the streets, businesses and neighborhoods and places I visited on a daily in my youth being spoken about in this book was so intriguing.

Mine was such an enjoyable read! TK Fletcher did a great job blending romance, suspense, Thriller, and just enough twists to keep me invested from beginning to end. I really liked Zuri and Micah together, and I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next. While I would’ve loved a little more character development and a few plot points explored a bit deeper, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I loved how the story explored the impact of the past, family, and love, and the ending pulled everything together in satisfying way that kept me guessing until the end. If you’re looking for a fast-paced romantic suspense with a little obsession, mystery, and chemistry, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a chance.

Chile, this book had me sitting here with my mouth wide open. It was giving crazy Tyler Perry movie mixed with Criminal Minds vibes. Things seemed like they were going okay... until them saxophones started getting louder. 👀
I loved how the author detailed certain scenes in a way that made me feel completely immersed in the story. The suspense grabbed me by the neck and had me locked in from beginning to end.
Zuri and Micah had such a unique love story. I’m just gonna leave it at that. I’ve personally never read a story quite like theirs, and that’s something I truly appreciated. It had me wanting to take a trip inside the author’s mind just to see what else she’s cooking up in there. 😂

“Mine” was a great book with a bit of a twist at the end. I thought the suspense was going to help build the romance, and it turns out that the romance built the suspense. TK Fletcher really got me because the way that Dr. Zuri was portrayed in my mind was not the way that she ended up being on the last page!! I feel like the author wrote a beautiful story where vengeance was definitely unexpected. The dynamic between Micah and Dr. Zuri felt like a a blanket you didn’t know was weighted. He protected her in more ways than one. The weight of their relationship took a turn, but I respected their ending. This book felt warm, but considering it’s a psychological thriller, it was more of the warmth of a stranger touching your back. I’m still watching over my shoulder…

If you enjoy Black romance with suspense, and morally gray characters… This is the book for you. When she first reached out to have me read this book on threads I was skeptical. But this one was a book that I finished in 2-3 days. I really wanted to see what she was thinking during this writing process. And baby that ending…. I am still SHOOK! I won’t give away any spoilers but you are in for a wild ride.

Received this from the Author. I normally don’t write reviews and tend to just read but TK reached out and asked me to join her ARC Team. After reading MINE I was floored. The book was good with the right amount of spice and when it comes to that ending… I was not expecting that. I’m actually upset in the best way, I was rooting for ZURI. Micah & Zuri take you on a journey but I enjoyed it. I can’t believe you made me google Shreveport as a vacation destination 😂. I want to meet my own Micah. Great job!

Zuri & Micah’s connection seemed unlikely at first, A medical examiner and a defense lawyer. But the more time they spent together, it just worked.
I really enjoyed Micah’s character and his reasoning for becoming a defense lawyer. He was just an all around good guy with a past that could’ve shaped him for the worse, but instead he used it to better himself.
The story keeps you in suspense as the investigation unfolds. You start piecing together who’s involved, and it feels like you’re right there in the car as everything goes down. Red flags get ignored, obsessions get uncovered, and secrets are revealed… and buried. I enjoyed this unique storyline.

This book was a WILD ride! This is my 1st time reading a book when the FMC is unhinged. Dr. Bennett! Ma’am !!! My flabbers were gasted at a few parts because huh?!? And then the end! Tuh sis even had me fooled 😭😭🤣.enjoyed the book !

Zuri was insane but after re-reading this book I understood her. She was struggling and her trauma forced her to become someone she didn’t recognize. Micah really decided to do something that he questioned which was pick her. He loved her & I respect it.
