Ready to Fall (full length novel)

Ready to Fall:

Tall, dark, and handsome is an understatement when it comes to John Day. With rugged good looks, his ever present plaid shirt, and a dog named Babe, John is a modern alpha male lumberjack in more ways than one.

After his favorite neighbor rents out her cabin for the winter, John finds himself living next door to Diane Watson, a beautiful brunette with her own messy past and recent battle scars in this friends to lovers romantic comedy.

Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat:

I, Thomas Clifford Donnely, am a manwhore.

You can call me Tom Cat. I've been told I'm irresistible to women. Like catnip for a different kind of pussy-cat.
This is the story about how I lost my wingman, broke all my own rules, and found myself falling in love.

Tom Donnelly isn't the marrying kind, or the dating kind. Even after losing his #1 wingman to love, he doesn't see the point in relationships. When his sister's best friend returns to Whidbey Island and propositions Donnelly for a one-night stand, he breaks one of his biggest rules--no fooling around with his sisters' friends. It's just sex, nothing more. That's what Tom does and does well.

What happens when "just sex" isn't enough?

***

Bonus content: Take the Cake and Run, a hilarious short story featuring John and Diane from Ready to Fall, with cameos by Tom Cat.

READY TO FALL:
There are many types of first introductions to one's neighbor, naughty, sad, funny and unique and the one between John and Diane happened to be a unique and funny one:
"Cheesy rice and Joseph!" She shouted and turned to face me, clutching her hand to her chest. "Who the eff are you?"
Leaning over, I swung the lever to open the flue on the chimney stack. "I'm the neighbor. Who the eff are you? Cause I know this isn't your house."
Maggie she has the best advice for John when it comes to Diane, "you're sweet. I knew there was a reason I liked you. Be friendly. Bring her fish. Chop some wood for her. Take off your shirt and give her a show while you do it. She might be anti-love, but no woman is anti-eyecandy." John he's all for flirting when Diane initiates it, "oh, John." She lightly patted my cheek. "There's so much about me you don't know." The woman flirted with me. The gray sweater was gone and so was he shy sadness. If she wanted to flirt, we'd flirt. I lightly swatted her a** leaned down so I wouldn't be heard by anyone but her. "I'd like to know all about you." Sometimes a girl has to do what she has to do to bring her guy at attention, "we ate in silence...silence broken by her random moans, which I felt in my co**. Morning wood was no excuse. Not after waking up her mouth blazing a trail down my chest and her hand bringing me to full alert." Diane also has to bring John's attention to the task at hand, "you going to stand there staring at my a**, or are we having sex up against a tree?" I loved how if his girl was hurting John will make sure that Diane is always comfortable, "sorry." I hated seeing her in pain. "Can I get you anything? Are you on good drugs?" Diane isn't the only one who has to clue the other in on something, "one thing you should know about men, is even if we're in a fight or sick or injured, we'll still want to have sex." Her answer was a roll of her eyes. "It's true. Want me to prove it?" I stroked my bottom lip with my thumb." I can't wait to see what character comes next in this series.
TAKE THE CAKE AND RUN:
I loved this short story I loved seeing John and Diane and the funnies that went with wedding planning.

CONFESSIONS OF A REFORMED TOMCAT:
Not many things can shock a man like Tom, so when Hailey does it's quite entertaining, "talking about your inseam in front of my father? You didn't think it would get a reaction out of me?" Sometimes Tom needs to coax his womAn to move, "sweetheart, you need to move so I can take care of business and stoke the fire." Hailey is a contact sleeper, "Hailey stretched and elbowed my rib so hard my eyes watered. In her attempt to adjust her knee made contact with my balls." I loved this book, Tom was quite the character and Hailey had some lady balls and didn't back down.

Where we learn more about Tom

We met Tom in the first of Daisy Prescott’s Wingmen series, Ready to Fall, where he’s as far from meeting the right girl and settling down as anyone could be. We knew it would happen for him, of course, but how would he get there? The answer lies in a Confessions of a Reformed Tomcat. I didn’t love Tom in Ready to Fall, but I loved watching him fall in love.

Okay, so I already have read and own Ready to Fall and Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat, but I had to get this set for the bonus short story sandwiched in between these two awesome novels. Plus I was pleasantly surprised with the epilogue now present in Ready to Fall (which was not in the earlier, single book edition I bought. Eeek!)

Ready to Fall is such an excellent, hot, and sweet story about the local sexy lumberjack falling for the city girl who is spending a few months hiding away from her old life in NYC. Instantly I fell in love with John, said sexy lumberjack. I won't go into detail, but Daisy Prescott really nailed the male POV in this story. I've read several other books written by female authors in the male POV and this by far is probably the best I've read. Words and phrases men would use are used, and its not overdone. We are also introduced to John's best bud and wingman, Tom Donnely aka the Tom Cat. Donnely provided the perfect ball busting comic relief to the story. I also appreciated the vivid descriptions of all the places on and surrounding Whidbey Island. I truly felt like I was living the island life and seeing things as Diane wouldve seen for the first time. It really gave me a hankering for wanting to go back up to the Pacific Northwest!

Take the Cake and Run was a cute and very steamy short story featuring our favorite couple, John and Diane. It's a cute look at a day in their life in between Ready to Fall and Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat. We see a couple of glimpses of our favorite wingman Tom Cat. This short story truly is the icing to this Wingman cake!

Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat is another story told in the male POV, namely Mr. Tom Cat Donnely. I thought I loved John's voice, but Donnely? OMG I fell in love with him in this book. Once again Daisy delivered a super hot, sexy, and believable story told in the male voice. Our heroine Hailey was also a very likeable character, and the side plot development with Tom's family tied the story together perfectly. I am so starved for more Tom and Hailey. I hope Daisy will delight us with a short story for them someday.

If you love romance with some comedy, heat and steam, sexy bearded men, and love reading from the guys point of view, Wingmen delivers. I promise you will not be disappointed and I can guarantee it will leave you salivating for more hijinks on Whidbey Island!

I am a big fan of both John Day and Tom "Tom Cat" Donnelly. I am delighted that Daisy Prescott has released a box set to celebrate Wingmen, a true bromance and an awesome friendsip!!

READY TO FALL introduced me to one of my ultimate book boyfriend soul mates, John Day!! Getting to know John and feeling his hesitance, distance and fear about really falling in love had me so emotional! When he met Diane, their journey had me cheering, crying and absolutely falling for them! I have read this book many times, and it will always remain one of my favorites!

CONFESSIONS OF A REFORMED TOM CAT had me laughing, crying, hot and bothered and happy! Early on in the story Tom runs into Hailey, his sister's best friend who hasn't seen in awhile, and something shifts within him. After spending some time with Hailey, Tom steps back and takes stock of his life and what's important to him. He begins to realize that maybe a few fun romps mean more to him than he cares to admit.

TAKE THE CAKE AND RUN is such a great, sexy and amusing read about our Beloved John and Diane!

I highly recommend picking up this wonderful set full of heart and humor for your collection!!

Here's the thing. I have such a love for Daisy Prescott's story telling that when this box set was released, I bought it. Even though I had already read Ready To Fall and Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat.

Knowing there was a little short story thrown in there, it was no a brainer for me, I was getting it.

I loved the Modern Love series. Every one of them. Great stories, great characters, completely invested in all of them. And so well written, you don't even have to read them in order, I didn't. I didn't realize it at first, but once I did, I read them all, two actually in one week.

And knowing there is a new Modern Love short coming in July, well as far as I am concerned, Daisy loves her readers!

Now, Take the Cake and Run is a great little short story. Who doesn't love John Day?? Seriously, it's impossible not too. So to have this bonus, it's just icing on the cake (pun intended).

Go get this box set, John Day and Tom Cat in one set, plus the bonus John and Diane story? It's a win win you can't beat!

Sometimes it is so refreshing to read books from the male POV. These two stories did not disappoint. How can you not love the stories of not one but two reformed man-whores?

The story of John Day will leave you swoony at points, steamy at others, then screaming at the way he acts like an idiot. I love how Diane Watson comes in slowly but surely overcomes all her struggles and saves herself while at the same time stealing John's heart.

The story of Tom Donnely will have your smiling, laughing out loud and heating up right along with these characters in the dead of winter in Seattle's Whidbey Island. When Hailey King, aka Idaho, comes along and gives the Tomcat a run for his money, he is helpless against his own swooning.

This was a fun read, not a lot of drama and a nice change in pace.

I loved these two books! So much. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. These books have it all; humor, romance, a little heartache, and a whole lotta heat. And beards! :) John and Tom Cat are both amazing and watching them both go from bachelors to men in love was so much fun and gave me the warm fuzzies! I tend to dislike most female leads in books, but I loved Diane and I especially loved Hailey, she was badass and I want to be her bestie. This series is a definite must read.

Okay I have been faithful to John Day since Ready to Fall and then Tom Donnelly from Confessions of a reformed Tomcat comes along and I may have wavered a bit. So what better way then to have my two favorite books and men in a box set. Wingmen, can it get any better than that? #TeamJohnDay
