You Can Make a Difference We live in a rapidly secularizing culture that is losing its heart for biblical motherhood. For over two decades, Sally Clarkson has called mothers back to God’s design, driven by her passion to restore moms’ hearts to God’s heart for motherhood. Taking Motherhood to Hearts will give you a picture for how to join her by starting, leading, and tending your own Mom Heart small group. In this book you will find inspirational “why to” vision, practical “how to” advice, and motivational “can do” encouragement. Motherhood is more than just a biblical duty; it is a ministry of discipleship. This book will show you how to have a meaningful ministry to moms that will make a difference for eternity.
From working on college campuses, to sharing the Gospel behind the Iron Curtain as a missionary, traveling around the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia to speak on discipleship, Sally Clarkson has tenaciously sought after God's kingdom, and has used her ministry to encourage others to do the same. From her best-selling books such as Own Your Life, Desperate (with Sarah Mae), and her latest, The Lifegiving Home, Sally has shared from her heart and home about the value of motherhood and the potential for home to cultivate life, love, and faith. In 1995, She and her husband Clay founded Whole Heart Ministries, which has encouraged thousands of families around the world in discipling their children
I really admire Sally Clarkson's encouraging, life-giving voice. You can always count on her to give you hope and she does that here, telling moms how to start what are essentially discipleship groups (i.e., mom heart groups). Lots of good principles to glean along the way, from the heart of a kind, affirming person who's rooting for you.
the best how to lead a small group book. geared toward women but adaptable for any group. practical and philosophical, gentle and easy to read and follow.
This is a great how-to book for starting, leading, and tending a “mom heart” group. It offers logistical help, resource suggestions, and Biblical encouragement for the leader to disciple others and to tend to her own “Mom heart.” I’m not sure if this is the time for me to start my own mom heart group or not yet, but either way, it inspired me to be more intentional and gospel-focused as I lead and participate in other groups, and to just minister to the hearts of all I meet, even in informal ways. I love Sally’s heart for moms to grow in their understanding of God’s heart for us and his plan for motherhood and this book was a great introduction to it and inspiration to live in light of that and to pass it on to other women.
