Becky plans to go to college and get good grades but when she meets the best hockey player on the college team she can't help but be instantly attracted to him. She doesn't usually get guys like him though so she tries to ignore her feelings until he's constantly around everywhere she turns.
Johnny is super hot and dangerous. Once he sets his eyes on a girl he pursues her until he gets what he wants... the girl in his bed. But Becky is something much more. However, Johnny's dangerous past may ruin any chance of a happy ever after.
Second installment and I'm still feeling like I'm on the wrong side of the fence and in the minority. Not working. Too much silliness and the girl - even though just a college freshman - is way too clingy and doesn't seem to have an ounce of common sense in her body. She certainly doesn't know the meaning of "protection." I've already got the third installment loaded so I'll continue but if things don't change, I may not even care to know what happens in the end and I'll stop at three.
With Johnny on the road for his away game, there is this girl who approaches Becky and tells her about Johnny's ex. Is it jealousy or is Johnny to good to be true? When Becky asked about Claire, Johnny doesn't really want to talk about it but Becky lets it go. Johnny wants to be with Becky forever but is it too soon and is Johnny hiding something? Can't wait to see what happens
This short story is continuation to read Becky story; I feel increasingly that this story must have been written for young readers. First, I want to mention that there are some misleading things in this story, for starters Hockey season does not start at beginning of a school year and how games are played as well as rules all need revision. Becky seems a bit airheaded at times, unsure and too trusting. The mystery of hottest Hockey player involved in something serious in his past did keep me a little intrigued. I felt sorry for Johnny and all he went through even though not enough of his past was unraveled. Becky seems gullible in letting bully type girls get to her, however she does seem at times to follow her own beat and not listen to jealous girls who are trying to scare her. I liked Gigi a lot and all her advice. Again, this bk ends in another cliff.
This book is in desperate need of an editor and a proof reader. Why write a hockey romance when you clearly know nothing about hockey. An hour spent on the internet would have made a tremendous difference. 1) the college hockey season does not start at the beginning of the school year. 2) the majority of college hockey games in a season are played in 2 game series on Friday and Saturdays. 3) a regulation game in hockey consists of 3 periods with 2 intermissions. There are no quarters or halftime. 4) an infraction against another player is called a penalty not a foul. 5) when a player is hit into the boards it is called checking, not slamming. 6) the plexiglass above the boards surrounding the playing surface is referred to as "the glass" not a shield 7) the NCAA men's ice hockey championship is played in a tournament format and is called The Frozen Four - it is not played at a teams home rink/arena - it is held in a different city each year at a professional hockey facility to accommodate the larger crowd. 8) it is not possible that a player would be left behind at an away game nor would a player from an opposing team be the last person in a building after a game - a large staff travels with a hockey team including coaches, trainers and equipment managers not to mention the facility personnel who work security and clean the building who would be in the locker room area. 9) the mid-game sex was also ridiculous for many reasons not the least of which would include the difficulty of quickly removing the equipment and the smell. The heroines irrational hysteria and constant crying were ridiculous and made it very hard to like or have compassion for her. Unfortunate because there was the potential for a good book here.
Johnny is hot, athletic, smart and he's all Becky's. Yet, can he commit to a relationship, two weeks into the semester? Will hockey come between them? Will Becky trust Johnny and accept his hectic schedule? Lurking under Becky's happiness is another girl feeding Becky information about Johnny's former girlfriend. Will Becky discount the rumors to jealousy or is there more to it? Claire Adams's Breathless Book 2 is fantastic!
College, dating, new relationship, Becky is seeing Frat boyfriend Johnny Steele, good looking, every girl's dream, hockey player, but what is behind the story that a girl he dated committed suicide? Some went to jail, he didn't? Oh what is going on, he seems so into Becky, ready to read bk. 3.
This book did not impress. I think it was written for a much younger reader. I did continue to read the sequels because the book(s) end in cliffhangers. This is to be said of the series.
