Nicky Love is the bane of Rex Regent’s existence. Regent wants to reign in the Runaway pack. When Rex goes to meet Nick face to face, he seeing it isn’t a male he is dealing with but a female and his mate. Nicky isn’t about to let this alpha try to scare her off. Rex knows that the Runaway’s need better guidance. Nicky has let the run a muck for far to long but they are protective of her. I love that they always have her back. Granted they are all silly. They learn about themselves with Rex. For Nicky, she is running from her past. When you read about what really happened to her before and why she keeps trying to suppress her shift, it all makes sense. We also find out her father is totally crazy, I mean how could he do that to his own child. And then think he is some sort of God. Crazy. Fescue is funny. He is all pomp and regal. But at the end of the day, he is just like Rex. Nicky needs the discipline that Rex can give her. It helps to settle her mind. The only thing she had to come to terms with is herself.

Is she a monster like her father?

I first thought that Rex Regent was stuck up and just an awhole. But I found out he has brains and a heart. Rex needs to move the squatters living in “the warehouse”. This property has bad memories for him. What he didn’t realize was that he was going to meet his mate. Nicky Love is a free spirit and she’s the “alpha like” leader of the Runways. They’re a group of young rogue/lone wolves that she has collected to form a loose pack. They’re very loyal to her. They start to disappear after Nicky and Rex start the bonding process. Nicky’s past comes to light when her father reappears.

To say this story surprised me would be an understatement. It’s not your typical shifter, instead it has a darker side that had both good and bad in it. I really liked Nicky and found her to be a very strong young lady. Rex could come off gruff but he only wanted the best for his mate. A secondary character, Fescue was so funny at being so proper and I think he added to the funny side of the story. Most of the story was worth reading but the dark violent side of death was thankfully not a large part of the story. It’s a unique shifter story.

Rex, alpha of the Regent pack immediately recognized Nicky as his fated mate. She’s wildly impulsive and chaotically stubborn. Her upbringing left her traumatized into believing she’d been left with irredeemable qualities which prevented her from having a normal life. Rex is willing to do whatever it takes to show her he’s committed and strong enough to overcome all obstacles in their path to happiness… I received a free copy of this book. She Runs, He Chases

Rex has a problem, an upstart small pack has taken over on of this buildings in the middle of his territory. Nicky is the leader of a small pack, taking in those rejected by their own packs. These two meet in a collision of wills and a fated mate bound. I enjoyed this train-wreck of a romance - she fights at every turn, he tries to be patient while paddling her, and the conclusion, while violent, was perfect for these two, utterly unconventional. A great read.

I loved this different take on a shifter romance. And I want a series because this book introduced so many great characters that I want all of their stories. Nicky is strong, stubborn and determined. Rex is commanding, rigid and dominant. I loved their push and pull. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving an honest review. This is an interesting, entertaining and erotic sexy page turner. So well done. A wonderful read.

There was spice for days and bdsm. Even dub con. However it wasn't cheesy or overly done. It's classy smut. There was the right amount of plot that gave it backbone. I really enjoyed the primal nature of the MMC. It just makes sense with what you typically see in shifter mating behavior. Justifiable feral behavior because there's an animal inside of them. Lastly I received this as an arc but I'm not obligated to leave this review.

This is one of Lucky‘s best books. It is written in dual point of view. I really like that the male main character is thoughtful and appears to have the capacity for complex thinking. Let’s just say he’s more evolved then typical male wolf I really like the main female character. I wouldn’t mind reading a follow up, especially on the two sidekicks her secretary and his major demo a very enjoyable read.

Exciting and steamy read! I enjoyed it from start to finish. Nicky is the ultimate brat and the bane of Rex existence. She has built a pack of strays, outcasts and runaway shifters while fighting her own demons. Rex goes from annoyed and frustrated to intrigued when he meets Nicky and not ”Nick”.
The story is different to others by Loki and I really liked it!

I enjoyed this - I liked the characters and enjoyed their story. A super feisty female lead, lots of steamy naughtiness and shifters - what more can you ask for!.

loved it…

What happens when an Alpha male and shifter meets a feisty feral human who refuses to be his mate. The relationship between Rex and Nicky was explosive. A fun must read.
