The FMC’s husband cheats on her.
Later, the FMC meets H. She’s still married (divorce is in the works) when she starts messing around with new MMC.
There’s a tiny bit of OW drama with a coworker who has the hots for MMC. MMC did have one date with OW but it never turned smexual.

The title doesn’t really make sense. “Neglected by my husband at our anniversary dinner”
Naw, her husband just straight-up dumped her and introduced the heroine to his mistress. His mom was cackling like an old hag.
Then they threw all her clothes into trash bags and kicked her out of her house. Took all her/their money, too. Since the heroine slapped the mistress, they blasted that video all over social media and heroine lost her job.
Husband also hired an high powered attorney to make sure the heroine got nothing.
Poor heroine only had $219 dollars. So…she was having a very bad week. 🤪
The last 90% of the book is her romance with Eric. Eric is a hot billionaire who owns a lot of restaurants. He met the heroine the night of her anniversary dinner when she cut her hand as she was leaving. Now, she works in his restaurant. He pretty much has Insta/everything for her. Eric’s mom is dying from cancer, so he wants to “pretend” the heroine is his girlfriend. Uh huh. Mostly their whole relationship is Eric getting the heroine to trust him.
Eric is completely devoted to FMC.
Eric hires an high powered attorney for the heroine. Ultimately, the heroine wins half of everything. It never actually said if a divorce was declared, but I would assume so.
Eric eventually proposes and she said yes.
I think 6 months later at their wedding, she learns her ex husband cheated on his new girlfriend/wife (not sure which)

The story was cute and I liked how she pulled herself together and managed to get through everything with Eric. There are some questions, though, that I have. Not everything was really answered, and there were some things that just didn't make sense.
First, she was married to this guy for 4 years. Did she honestly not see ANY of this coming? There had to have been some signs (which suddenly she seemed to notice after everything fell apart), but there were enough red flags there that she should have figured out something.
Then, there is is mother. Are they attached at the hip or something? Everywhere he turns up, she is there too. That would have been a flag all by itself, especially after 4 years of marriage.
Sebastian, Vicky, and Gloria were all just a little too OTT. It felt like one of those crazy drama shorts you see online that everyone is just way too intense, not like normal people behave. I don't buy Vicky's apology, either. Seriously, who deliberately pours a full glass of wine on someone they are already victimizing, then come back and say that they didn't know what was going on. Nope, you are just a POS.
So at the beginning, she was having to get an Uber to get home and to get her stuff to the hotel. Then at the end, she loaded her stuff into her car. When did she get a car? She was using all her money for the motel and lawyer, so how could she have suddenly gotten a car in there somewhere?
The pacing of this book was off. I think it could have used an editor to go through it, too. If we have a jump in time, we need to know it. It just feels off when we don't know what's going on and how long it has been or if this is just continuing the previous chapter.
Overall, this book wasn't terrible. Entertaining enough to pass the time.

V and E chemistry hot ..storyline pacing not
Valentina thought her anniversary dinner with Sebastian would be a celebration of their marriage, but instead, she walks into a carefully planned betrayal. Then she literally bumps into the restaurant owner Eric Bailey..
Eric’s character was awesome. I loved that possessive, domineering “mine only” vibe he brought to the story. He definitely added the intensity that kept me interested.
I also really liked Valentina. Her slapping the mistress across the face was a first for me in this genre 😂, and honestly, I was here for it! I loved that she stood up for herself and held her own instead of constantly being portrayed as the helpless betrayed wife.
The story had some great characters and satisfying moments, especially Eric and Valentina’s undeniable chemistry and sexual tension added that extra bit of spice, making their relationship even more captivating, however ..the pacing and continuity could have been tighter. Too many extra tidbits were added without enough explanation, which made an otherwise enjoyable read feel unnecessarily long.
For me, Eric and Valentina were the highlights—but that’s it for me. 3.5⭐️’s

September 14, 2026Oh no. I just quit a book in Ch. 3 because lot was edited so poorly with the mMC knowing things before they were revealed to him in the storyline, and this book just did it too by Ch. 2. It’s seriously making me question if I should bother continuing.
Eric is inquiring about the woman he helped at his restaurant, Valentina, the fMC. And in Ch. 1 she was about to walk into her anniversary dinner only to discover her husband there with another woman and his mother (which is weird), and Valentina’s gift for her husband was tickets to Greece. And now in Ch. 2, Eric knows about the tickets even though the only interaction he had with her was her crashing into him and him bandaging a cut. They didn’t even exchange names. The tickets didn’t fall out of her purse. He shouldn’t know about them at all.
I think I’m out. Can’t do it. The next Chapter in Valentina's POV starts off with her in an Uber going back to her home after a night in a motel. (Why wouldn’t she have gone home and packed her stuff!?) And her mother-in-law and her husband OW is there telling her to leave. And that the house isn’t in her name at all, so too bad for her. I cannot do this one. It is already too stupid.

Neglected by my Husband...
This story started with an anniversary dinner that was disastrous. Cheating husband brings his mistress to their anniversary dinner. But it gets better. She is able to grow a backbone. She maybe down but not out. Circumstances lead her to another man. And her second chance for love.

So good
I really enjoyed this story of Val and Eric. I liked the slow burn and the fact that Val was so much stronger than she realized. I liked that Eric was patient and kind to Val. Loved his mom and most of the secondary characters. Which ones I didn't like? Read it and you will be able to tell. Good book!!!

Very Good
This is such a nice story. Valentina is betrayed, by her husband and her mother-in-law. It’s a story of Valentina picking up the pieces, surviving and a new romance and a new beginning. I truly enjoyed this story.
