Jilted architect, Josh Powell, may have sworn off love, but he's still a virile man. When he recognizes a sexy woman from a Vegas adult entertainment ad, he wonders if a night with an attentive call girl might be the perfect remedy for his deflated ego and raging libido.
Eager to be married to her ultra-righteous fiancé and finally consummate their love, Allison Miller is stranded without a dime in Sin City. When a hunky stranger mistakes her for a hooker, she eventually convinces him she's still a full-fledged virgin and not the woman in the pornographic ad. Nevertheless, after Josh's kiss ignites her passion, Allison questions her feelings for the fiancé who abandoned her. Desperate for cash, she reluctantly accepts a job as Josh's temporary assistant. All goes well until someone slips a new street drug into her drink. Suddenly, doing it is all she can think about.
The only way Josh can keep Allie safe from the Vegas perverts eager to take advantage of her uninhibited state, is to tend the damsel himself. Despite her frantic attempts at seduction, his chivalrous nature won't let him claim her chastity-- not while knowing his frozen heart will never be enough for the sweet girl who refuses to comply with Sin City's unwritten rule: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
NOTE: This book has an extra high sensuality level and is not for those seeking a sweet romance.
ALLISON IS NAÏVE AND KINDA’ FLAKEY, MOSTLY CLUELESS ABOUT THE WORLD OUTSIDE OF NEW JERSEY. JOSH IS A GOOD GUY WHO GOT BURNED BY LOVE, NOW HE JUST DOESN’T TRUST ANY WOMAN. PUT THOSE TWO THINGS TOGETHER AND TO ME IT’S A RECIPE FOR FUNNY-SEXY-LOVE, AND IT WAS. I LOVE MS. KELLOGG’S BOOKS SHE KNOWS HOW TO PUT A THE STORYLINE TOGETHER AND I LOVE HER BOOKS. ;D
Now here is a read that you won't want to put down. Though not something's were a bit off with a few characters at the end you would never know it. The sex was amazing, the drama was oh yeah and the what the hecks were plenty
Allison has just arrived to Sin City, broke and robbed.
After skimming through a brochure, Josh is captivated by the sensuous Angel, whom Allison is a dead-ringer for. The physical attraction is instantaneous. Funny how he confuses her for a prostitute and the two have no idea what the other is talking about at first.
But one thing is for certain: she’s tired of being the good girl, and he’s tired of being the nice guy that finishes last.
I loved how Josh protected Allison—her body and her reputation. It was terrible about the “lesson” that the ex’s navy buddies wanted to play on Allison, who was labeled a “wh#re.”
I really enjoyed this story of two characters that were emotionally scarred from past relationships. Their closeness is exactly what they needed.
Terrific!!! Small town girl goes to Vegas to marry her boyfriend. Her belongings are stolen along with her cab. He's nowhere to be found. His "friends" call her a hooker. Sees giant billboard of a call girl with her picture on it. Later that day Allison meets Josh. They are terrific and lovable characters. and Ms. Kellogg has done a terrific job writing their story. (What an ending!!!!!)
I enjoyed this book; it's a bit off the wall but I guess the events are possible . Allie sure had a lot of adventures for a young girl, but she managed to make the best of the situation each time and meeting a rich young man didn't hurt a bit.
This series is amazing. The books are not connected but have cameos from previous books! I loved all of these books and the author had me hooked .... definitely a must read !!4.5 stars!!!
Luck was hard on Allison in the beginning but everything turned out pretty good in the end. Josh and Rick helped her a lot when she needed it the most. Pretty interesting read,I would say.
What a great read. I always enjoy the characters and story line of this author. This story was about a wonderful couple that fell in love in Vegas baby. Enjoy reading everyone.
This is an awesome series! I hope to see more!! Love them! Love the characters and would love to see them solve the mystery of the aphrodisiac going around!
Started out good. Rated closer to 3.5. After a while, Allie's whining about not being loved and being rejected became tedious. Josh also became a little annoying after a while. Him going on and on about his age was ridiculous. I did love Rick. He sounded so Vegas. Now the story itself became too neat. The author never explained how Allie tricked Doug into proposing. How was Doug able to convince all those Navy men to break the law for him. It just made no sense. I mean the mistaken identity and the disappointment he felt, I understood. But the whole stealing the car and date rape crap, I just could not buy. All those men risking their Naval career for a friends revenge. Didn't buy it. Kind of read like pretty woman. If you're looking for a quick read, you may enjoy. The story didn't seem finished, but it was for me. If there is another, I will not be reading it.
This book is mostly a fun, rom-com (with quite a bit of steam), but there's also a small sub-plot that involves a date rape drug that felt too dark for the book. One scene in particular has two men talking about slipping Allison this new drug so that 5-6 of them could "gang bang" her. In a mostly lighthearted book it was really off-putting. And it sort of put this dark cloud over the rest of the book, I kept wondering if something really bad would happen to her.
Allison was a little naive, but very sweet. Josh started off pretty great, but his wishy-washy attitude started to grate on me after awhile. He spent too much time bemoaning about how he could never trust or love a woman again.
When it comes to this author, I think I prefer the Redemption series.
I wish someone would put me in charge of a charitable foundation with no qualifications. Hell, I wish someone would just hand me something other than bad luck. Other than tie this book into her other ones Kellogg didn't step wrong. The mistaken identity was good, the sexy games were fun, but the "bad guys" were unneeded. And frankly, the idea of a rape drug that turns a girl into a uninhibited nympho isn't sexy to me but the stuff of nightmares. I can't imagine how messed up that would make the victim, all because a guy thought she was an uptight prude for not sleeping with him. So, he gives her a drug that makes her have sex with him, his buddies, and any inanimate objects she can find. And so what if she damages herself internally, yeck.
At first I wasn't sure I was going to like the book as it was sorta really random in the beginning. After a few chapters I finally started getting into it and found myself intrigued with the characters. I had a hard time really liking both Allison and Josh for most of the book. I found them to be a bit dramatic and making excuses for everything. By the time the store wrapped up, I liked the characters more and the storyline. I'd be curious to see whaf happens next in their lives.
Book has all you might want in a romance novel. Very strong characters, some good guys and some not so good. What was best was way connection between the main two or three seemed so real and natural. Also the instant bond with long lost Mother and Sister, don't want to spoil someone else. Thanks
I am usually entertained by Kellogg's books. However, I do not find rape amusing and saying it is not rape because the victim has been drugged it just wrong!!
This was a very funny book, who knew there was still men out there like the hero in this book both leading people were someone I wouldn't mine call a friend.
#3 is a great third installment. I continue to enjoy this series, with pop up,characters from past books. The lots are ridiculous but that makes these stories fun and enjoyable.
