Rainbow Reader Blue:
“Hey! I’m Gay”

This book includes content from the original, now super-secret manuscript, “Moments in Time: It is never too late to come out,” and has been modified, embellished and enhanced based on reader interest in the characters from the original series.

There is really only one moment in time we can cherish, that we remember through all of the good and bad times in our lives. If you can take that one moment of time and cherish it forever, it can bring joy where there is sorrow; happiness and hope where there is despair. This is a secret that we hold true to ourselves, to our hearts.

Sometimes you remember the first kiss, the first time you fell off your bike, and the person who was there to pick you up, or when you fell out of the tree, you remember who carried you bleeding to the hospital, or cleaned up your wounds and gave you encouragement and inspiration to go on.

But it is this secret you hold true deep down inside that you can sometimes forget. When all else fails, it was the one true thing that you were supposed to hold onto, it molds you into who you are, and who you will be. It helps you evaluate who you were, where you were, and gives you focus on who you want to become, and where you want to go.

“Blue: Hey! I’m Gay” is the fifth of the Rainbow Reader series that reveals the sexual discovery, encounters and developing adventures that define the main character as he interacts with characters the readers wanted to know more about from the original Moments in Time series.

Fiction is a lie, but there is truth behind every lie.

Georgie’s 30 year journey spans the entire Rainbow Reader series and can be read in any order. However, for readers interested in following the timeline in complete continuity, the proper reading order for the series begins with the unpublished, “Pink: The Secret Manuscript,” and continues directly into “Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.”

The timeline continues quite chronologically into the three “Moments in Time” novels.

Following the three “Moments in Time” novels, the story and timeline then continues to spin off different characters’ timelines in order to give the reader an all-encompassing, comprehensive and truly relative reading experience about the characters’ lives as they all develop individually.

The Rainbow Reader series begins again after the three novels with “White: Educating Hayden,” “Gray: Surrender,” “Black: Secrets,” and will continue into “Brown: Reconnect,” and the final Rainbow Reader of the year, “Silver & Gold: True Loves Kiss.”

There’s no better fiction than the truth.

Enjoy the fifth in the Rainbow Reader series, “Blue: Hey! I’m Gay.”

They say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions … Well, it would seem that Georgie is headed that way in the 5th Rainbow Reader, Blue: Hey! I’m Gay.

As Georgie enters his early 20’s, it would seem that that only person that didn’t know he was gay was him. And as he falls from one doomed relationship to the next, one failed career opportunity to another and one disastrous living arrangement yet another; it would indeed seem that the world, or quite possibly the universe, has Georgie Michael in the cross-hairs and marked for continued pain and failure.

However, as events unfold throughout this book, Georgie survives each trial that is placed in his path, more often than not by good fortune that good planning; and his heart and soul continues to yearn and search for that sense of love and home that has been his driving ambition since childhood. It is during these struggles that Georgie is forced to re-examine and re-invent himself, and move along his path to self-awareness and acceptance. All the while, denying his acknowledgement of his true self; even in the face of those around him publicly admitting their position.

Once again, the author has woven a tale that captured my emotions and dragged me kicking and screaming along with Georgie into painful and destructive situations, challenged my understanding of myself and the people around me, and at times had me wanting to reach out and shake Georgie to make him understand what havoc he was allowing into his life. When all I really needed to do was reach inside the book, and take him into a warm embrace, and hug all his pain and sorrow away.

These books linger with me after reading, and dramatically heighten my awareness of the plight of a gay teen growing up; making me feel more aware of my own surroundings and wondering who is in need of my help. Now, I know I should help because there are more Georgie’s living out on the street, in every city, every community, neglected, unwanted, and just trying to make it in this world.

I love this series. Georgie’s journey is so heart wrenching. Just when I think that things can’t get any worse for him they do. The lack of any consistent adult supervision and role models throughout his early life shows as he is so emotionally immature at age 25. The poor choices he makes over and over again is astounding. What does life have in store for him? Hmmm...

Ok... I didn't care this book at all. It seems to me that once Georgie gets settled.... HE does something to mess it up.
All the job jumping was just too much. I felt like I was getting a lesson on job interviews, hourly wages. And all these jobs he lands are so unbelievable. Working with money, jumped from hotel to hotel and getting hired. Even though he's been fired from other hotel. He seems to land all these jobs.
No... Unbelievable.
All his bed jumping. All these different men.
Yeah.. No. It wasn't working for me.
The whole coaching thing I felt was weird. And also the whole moving in with families. He moved into one of his students home!
Ok... Who let their son (A high school senior!) sleep with a 23 year old man... technically "skating coach" sleep together on their daughters waterbed?!
I can't believe that this kids parent would allow all that.

The whole thing with Finley...
My view of Georgie changed. Because Georgie is clearly gay. But he plays off to Finley that he's new to all this. Basically like they are experiencing something for the first time together. When clearly this isn't Georgie's first rodeo!
I'm sorry... But I got a creepy vibe from that whole scene. Georgie was a person of authority being Finley's coach. So... Even though Finley just turned 20 and just graduated from high school.
It all seemed too creepy.

Georgie seems to be attracted to youthfulness. Because towards the end of the book Aaron and Kyle happened and pretty much just confirmed my thought of him!
At this point it's all getting old. I really struggled to get through this book. I basically forced myself to finish it.

With each book in this series i read i fall more and more in love with Georgie's character. Even though at times he annoys the hell out of me with how he reacts in certain situations he is still such a loveable character.
He's finally accepted that he is in fact gay but still thinks he's incapable of ever finding love and just settling for lust.
These books may be classed as "quickie reads" but they certainly don't feel that way due to how much Adam fits into each story.
Absolutely love them !!

I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as the others as each part of Georgies journey seemed to be very brief and to the point. This was probably necessary though as there was a lot of ground to cover in his very complicated life! I was very happy that he never actually went to fight in the Iraq war although the endless waiting for orders was very tedious for him. I really do hope in the next few books Georgie finds some happiness and is able to settle down for more than a month or two at a time. He certainly deserves some happiness.
