This is a compassionate and thoughtful recounting of a young nurse’s experience in the ICU during the height of the COVID pandemic. It is very well written and has insight, thoughtfulness and wisdom that I often, unfairly, don’t ascribe to someone so young.
I appreciate that the author’s self deprecating sense of humour snuck in occasionally, while never outshining the sombreness of the subject matter. A really nice tribute to the incredibly special people who work in our hospitals or provide care to those who are suffering elsewhere.
