When Luke suffered a sudden meltdown during tutor interviews, Imogen stepped in to help. Joining him on the floor, she turned his scattered math cards into a playful game, quickly calming him down and leaving his father, Ashton, thoroughly impressed. Astonished by her natural rapport with his son, Ashton asked to speak with her right away. Eager for the job and charmed by Luke, Imogen readily accepted the role. However, a background check soon revealed a secret Imogen was keeping—a revelation Ashton chose to hold close, alongside a secret of his own.
I absolutely loved reading this story about Imogen, Ashton, and young Luke. Imogen’s immediate bond and effortless communication with Luke were a joy to witness. Ashton, a naturally guarded man, required Imogen to live on-site as a condition of her employment. Living under the same roof, the magnetic pull between them proved impossible to resist.
Richly detailed, authentically written, and packed with undeniable heat, this narrative holds your attention from start to finish. Even as they tackle hidden secrets, misunderstandings, corporate demands, a custody battle with Ashton's ex-wife, and complicated family ties to Imogen's father, their intense connection remains unwavering. It is a deeply captivating romance that keeps you hooked all the way to their happily ever after and the arrival of their baby daughter.

Ashton was interviewing for a tutor for his son Luke, when something happened and Luke had a meltdown, while Ashton was trying to get Luke to listen to him, Imogen, who was there for the next interview got down on the carpet and started a nonsense game with the maths cards that Luke had been throwing, he stopped screaming and started interacting with Imogen pretty quickly and it wasn’t long before there was even giggles. Ashton watched in shock and demanded to see Imogen in his office immediately, she desperately needed the money, so wasn’t going to turn down the job if it was offered and Luke was adorable. Ashton had a complete background check done on Imogen and found the secret she was hiding from him, Ashton didn’t tell her that he knew and he didn’t tell her that he had a secret as well! The story was beautifully written with great depth and realism to the characters, you can’t help be invested in the story and berate Ashton for not telling Imogen something important, wishing they would communicate better but at the same time appreciate how their chemistry was off the charts and they just couldn’t keep their hands off each other!.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Imogen and Ashton and especially Ashton’s little boy Luke. I loved how Imogen came straight in and was able to communicate with Luke in a way that he was able to become attached to her. Ashton is a hard man who doesn’t show emotions or any kind of interaction until it comes to Imogen, he hires Ashton to be Luke tutor, but he sets a condition in the contract that she has to stay on site as a live in tutor. Eventually, attraction between the two of them becomes more than they can resist, and Imogen find herself in Ashton‘s bed. There is secrets, hidden, and excuses made for each other’s behaviour, the heat in the bedroom between Ashton and Imogen, and eventually Imogen discover she’s pregnant. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes where business is becoming his main focus and a custody battle with his ex-wife and his relationship with Imogen‘s father. Eventually everything settles down and they go onto live there happily ever after as a loving family with a baby girl.

Two people both taught by the same man about life never even knew of each other until the day she stopped his kid mid meltdown the day of the interview. They both have baggage and it takes time and effort for them to work through it separately and together. It isn't a simple story but it is a meaningful one.
Ashton was super closed off the the world including his own son and Imogen taught him that he needs to let in the people who matter or he will always be alone. Luke was a doll and I loved him!!!

To me there is nothing hotter and sexier than a single dad billionaire romance book to read. Laila checked off all of those boxes for me by writing this really magnificent book. Everything screams read me now when it comes to Ashton and Imogen's romance. Holy smokes this 5/5-star book had my heart racing and my face hurting due to smiling until the very end. I recommend this romance book by Laila or any of her other romance stories, because they all are page turning entertaining romance reads.
