Jimmy Sangster is the author of 35 produced movie screenplays and a contributor to 18 networked television series. He now reveals the techniques, the know-how, and the creative tricks that propelled him to the top of his profession, both in England and later in Hollywood. The result is an invaluable course in the craft of cinema and television screenwriting, and a sometimes wry look at how films and TV shows actually get made.
The book was okay. I enjoyed that it gave an example of a well written film script and a tv sitcom script. However, it definitely isn't a how to type of book.
The author does give pointers on what to and what not to do. But, it seems that in the end he is basically saying "learn by doing" and then do it some more. Eventually you will get it right and may or may not have a saleable script.
