Cason Davoli has had his share of heartache and problems. No one ever said that being the President of the Wayward Saints would be a cake walk. After losing his wife to a rival club drive by and his daughter to her selfish mother, Cason vowed to never get close to another woman. The minute the sassy lawyer walked into his bar, he knew he was in for trouble. Henley Reid has strived to be the best lawyer she could be. At thirty-two, she’s finally happy with her career. The only thing she is missing is a love life, not that she would admit to it. The moment she walks into the Wayward Tavern, she knows her new clients are going to be trouble. K. Renee is from sunny, California. Creative by nature, she decided to put her imagination to paper. K. Renee is an avid reader. During the day she works in an office and at night she writes. These stories have been in her head for years and are finally coming out on paper.
Cason and Henley are a hot couple, even their names are sexy! There is a lot going on in this book, not all of which feels complete. One of the antagonist’s story lines doesn’t seem whole to me. It shows up here and there throughout the book and when the truth comes out, I felt that there could have been more to it. There are a lot of steamy sex scenes and Cason shows his softer side. I loved reading about his past and learning about the beginning. The time lines in the story don’t always make sense. For instance, the book says he and his wife have a three and a half year old when she gets pregnant again but two paragraphs’ later it states that the oldest is 6 and the second is 1 and she is pregnant again. So if she got pregnant the second time when child 1 was 3 ½, that would make him just over 4 when the second child was born. How is he suddenly 6 when the second child is one? At another point Cason takes off her panties that shouldn’t be there because he ripped them off her earlier in the day. This kind of stuff drives me crazy in a book. So although there are some good parts to this book, the inconsistencies took away from the enjoyment for me. I have read all of the Wayward Saint books thus far and I can definitely see a change in how the author writes. I give this book 3 stars with 3 hands down the pants.
Oh my how I love Cason. He has loved and lost and been betrayed. He is the President of the Wayward Saints leading and taking care of his family. He has closed his heart off to the possibility of loving not wanting to ever let anyone that close again. Then Henley comes into his life and breaks down that walls. He falls hard for his little lawyer wanting to make her his, but at the same time holding back so he doesn't get hurt. Henley starts receiving threats that if she helps Cason's men that she will suffer the consequences. Cason isn't going to let anything happen to her. He and his men look into who is behind what is happening and I have to tell you I totally didn't see that one coming. I love that the author surprised me with that reveal.
I was really looking forward to reading Cason's story and was over the top thrilled with it. Cason is scorching hot and I loved that Henley was his match. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I am totally hooked.
Review of Wayward Beginning by Kay Renee My Rating 5 Stars First off I have loved this series since the first book came out, each one continues to get better and better. Let’s just say I want my own Cason!! This man is sex on a stick, drinking fine bourbon! He is rough around the edges, but when this man loves he loves with all his heart. Cason is all about family and club…Cason has endeared pain on a level no man should. So Cason goes years of keeping women at bay, and being a manwhore….Then trouble starts in the club, and in walks Henley, She is hot, sexy, and feisty attorney at law! Cason’s world is about to change. This story had me at page one and I was page turning until I had no more pages. The story has such crisp flow throughout, and the author tells an amazing heartfelt story. I can’t wait for more from this author as K. Renee never disappoints. I highly recommend you read this series, as it’s surprising these pages don’t start on fire with the heat that’s in between them. I received an Advanced Copy for my honest review. Wayward Beginning (Wayward Saints #3) by K.Renee is the next story in this series and again, I recommend reading this series from the beginning because the stories do interact/overlap each other and you would hate to miss out on any of the backstories.
Wayward Beginning is the story of Cason, the President of the MC and father to Anslie, who was featured in books #1 and 1.5, and also a father to his boys who are also a part of the MC. I really loved getting more back ground on Cason and his family and for that I truly appreciated his story. Now with that being said, I really didn’t feel the need personally, to read a full book on Cason and that’s just me and maybe a novella on him would have been perfect for me. I think I have been so excited to get my hands on his sons stories and maybe that was a part of the reason that I didn’t feel as invested in his story as I would have been if it was one of his sons book.
Cason may have had a rough exterior nature about him but deep down inside he was a warm and loving man, dad and grandfather. He was a man who truly loved his kids and sincerely wanted the best for them. He may not have made the right decisions initially concerning his daughter Anslie while she was growing up but not a day goes by that he doesn’t wish he had done things differently. You can honestly “feel” the love he has for his kids and grandkids and I loved reading about it. He had it rough when the first love of his life was taken away from him and you got a better understanding of what he has gone through to make him so untrusting.
Henley, was a good woman and you could see the love she and Cason developed for each other. The sex scenes were really great, Cason and Henley were pretty darn sexy together and there was no denying that. My only issue was the development of their relationship, for me, it was too fast. There was too much “sex” time and not enough of the relationship building time for me personally. I like a slower build-up and maybe a bit more of angst to spice it up but it was sweet nonetheless and yet it still had enough to keep you wondering what would happen next. The other issue was the timeline, I felt like there were times that things didn’t add up for me throughout the story? I guess it was all too fast as well as a bit predictable too. I needed and wanted so much more depth on an emotional level between Cason and Henley than what I got. Some parts of the storyline seemed unfinished as well.
As I had hoped for, the writing has grown with each book in this series. I did love getting to see more of my favorite characters from the previous books and for that I was happy. I didn’t fall in love with this story but I did like it. I honestly think that I enjoyed learning more about Cason’s background rather than about he and Henley getting together if that makes sense. Now, I cannot wait to read about Cason’s boys and I am hoping to get a book on all of them in the future!
Cason Davoli is the President of the Wayward Saints MC. Over the years, he has had his share of heartache. A rival club murders his wife leaving him to raise four boys alone. Cason was devastated and didn’t handle the lost very well at first. When his best friend and VP finally made him wise up he started acting like a father again he starts to put his boys first. Cason thought he would never again find love then Selena found her way into his life. He realized she could fill the hole in his heart. Unfortunately, except for giving him a beautiful daughter Selena soon proved herself to be nothing but trouble.
Cason vowed never to let another woman in his heart again. His club and his kids was all he needed. The occasionally club whore warming his bed was all he wanted. That was until Henley Reid walked into the Wayward Tavern.
Henley is a confident, beautiful woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. Her career as a lawyer is thriving. The only thing missing in her life is love, at thirty-two Henley has somewhat given up on finding the one. When she meets the Wayward Saints president, she does not except her body to react to him the way it does. Henley can’t seem to resist Cason’s dangerous biker charm. However, is she ready for what he has to offer? Does she want to be someone’s old lady and live the club life? Can Cason get over his trust issues after his disastrous relationship with Selena?
My favorite part of this series is the relationships of all the characters together. They are a strong close-knit family. I love reading about them as they interact in day-to-day life. In this installment, the author gives us some flashbacks into how Cason became club president. What his life was like when he first got patched in then married the love of his life and had four sons with her.
Cason is a badass alpha male biker and he draws you in from the first chapter. He is sexy as sin and a loving father and grandfather. I love how much he loves his kids and his loyalty to the club. His banter with his sons is hysterical. The way he loves and protects his daughter warmed my heart. His constant threats to kill Brantley for impregnating his precious Ansley made me chuckle every time. Never mind how much he adores his grandchildren.
Henley was a great female character I liked her a lot. Her chemistry with Cason was insane and I loved reading their story. There was excitement and suspense that kept me holding my breath in anticipation of what would happen to them next.
I love this MC series and will continue to read until the author ends it.
Cason Davoli was born into the Wayward Saints MC. His dad was one of the founders of Waywards Saints. He joined at the age of eighteen and prospected for a year. It wasn't long after that Cason found himself the president after his dad's death. Cason had plans for the Wayward Saints. He wanted to buy legitimate businesses. He met Avelyn at one of these bars. Six months later they were married and before they knew it they had four healthy sons. Avelyn supported Cason in the club. She lived and loved the club. But too soon Avelyn was taken away by a tragic hazard of the club life. Cason was pulled away from his sons by the grief and need for revenge. Eventually Cason came back to try and bring his family back together. He became involved with a woman and a daughter was added to his family. His life became loving his family and caring on his club business. If he had an itch he had plenty of club women to scratch it. But never did one own his heart. Henley Reid is an independent young lawyer who always takes care of herself. She likes her life the way it is and don't want to change for anyone. She doesn't like bikers and she thinks this is exactly why she is assigned a case involving the Wayward Saints. Her boss trying to pay her back for rebuking his advances towards her. Little did she know she was on a collision course with a very dominating, sexy force named Cason. There is an instant attraction between Cason and Henley. He knows he wants her under him and he knows it will happen. But he also knows the mc life is not for her. Every time Henley comes in contact with Cason her panties get wet. She knows she wants him but she must do her job professionally. She is known for being ruthless in court. Now if she can just have that resolve with this sexy as sin biker. Wayward Beginnings is an extraordinary story of how a tragic past collides with what the future could hold. How to let go and hold on at the same time. How a strong young woman comes to terms with all the things she never knew she wanted from a man who doesn't fit into her world and she definitely doesn't fit into his. Then the man who needs to let go his past, the good and the bad, to love and to trust again. K. Renee another heart pounding read. I love the way you are always true to your characters and you let them tell their story no matter what direction they go. Thank you for another great book and all your hard work. I can't wait for the next one
Out of the four Wayward Saints books I've read (including 1.5 Valentine novella), I liked Cason's story the best so far. The fact that even in his fifties and after two heartbreaks, he was willing to give love another go around was interesting to me. This review will spoil books one and two of the series.
Cason Davoil is the president of the Wayward Saints MC, father to four boys, one girl and grandpa to three. He is a busy man. After losing the love of his life at the hands of another MC years ago, Cason has put his kids and club first for the past twenty years of his life. While the club still needs constant watching until Dom is ready to take over, the kids are grown and doing their own thing. Cason is starting to miss having a good woman by his side, not a random club whore here and there. When Dom and Jase find themselves in a bit of trouble, the law firm Cason keeps on retainer sends over one of their best. The minute Cason sees her in his bar, he wants her.
Hadley works for Cason's law team and ever since she turned down her bosses advances, she is stuck with the impossible cases. This is how she lands at the bar owned by none other than the Wayward Saints. Never one to back down from a challenge, Hadley gets ready to fight for Dom and Jase and fight off the advances from Cason. She's a busy woman herself, never really making time for a man or a family just yet.
Cason and Hadley are a pure opposites attract story and I loved it. The sexy biker and uptight lawyer is an excellent mix and just what this series needed in my opinion. I feel K. Renee's writing has matured with book number four and she gave us more storyline along with the steamy sex scenes every other page that we are use to from her. Cason has some baggage that surfaces and tries to get between him and his new ol' lady that adds the right amount of angst to the story as well.
The book is well written from dual points of view. I have been waiting for a change in the series and this was it. I really enjoyed Cason's story as he seemed like an interesting character from the very beginning. My only small complaint would be the timeline of this book as compared to the others. It was a little wonky, however it wasn't enough to totally detract me from the story.
This is the third book in the Wayward Saints MC series. Cason Davoli is President of the Wayward Saints MC since his Father who started the club and was the original President stepped down. His best friend, Nick Insico (Brantley & Jase's Dad) is his Vice President. Cason is a wonderful Father of four sons (Dominic, Robbie, Raef & Bentley) and one daughter (Anslie). He lost his beloved wife, Avelyn (the boy's Mom) when she was gunned down by a rival club. He had a hard time coping with her death and made a mistake of sleeping with the boy's nanny, Selena. She ended up getting pregnant and having Anslie after making everyone miserable she finally took their five year old daughter and left town. Cason didn't fight her because he thought a little girl needed her mother. He had no idea what Anslie was being put through until she was sixteen and called her brother for help. It's now years later and all four of his sons are members of the Saints and his daughter is married to his Vice President's son. Henley Reid is a thirty two year old criminal defense attorney and because she refused her scumbag boss' advances he keeps giving her shit cases. When Dominic and Jase are arrested for attempted murder after being set up by dirty cops and a rival MC Henley is given the case by her boss. When she goes to the clubhouse to meet with Cason and discuss the case they are both extremely attracted to one another.
I was given an ARC. THIS IS A MUST READ SERIES ..WOW !!! I can say I didn't put the book down until I finished it . Can we first talk about how hot the cover of this book is !! Like hot hot !! I must say I wasn't expecting this book to play out the way it did Kay has a way of surprising you that's for sure . Cason has had so much lose in his life it's so sad my heart hurt for everything he went through . I must say I am a sucker for pet names and I love that each book so far has a special one for their girl .. Haha I'm not looking forward to my kids cock blocking me when they are grown that's for sure but it was funny to read about it !! If I already didn't hate SLUTENA I hate her now even more. Cason being a bad ass biker pres is such a sweet heart under all that badassness ... Cason is an insatiable man ! He probably has more energy then his boys I love Henley she is a feisty heroine and Love her sassy mouth especially after she drinks omg that was so funny !!! I love that anslie is such a peacemaker always That's all I will say without trying to say much .. But Kay that was a curve ball u threw in there towards the end Amazing read I always get sucked into K.Renees books she has a way with words and I'm so glad I found her . P.s thank you for that lil extra at the end of the book , I can't wait !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So I have to say after reading the first two books I couldn't wait to dig into this book. And I have to say I was really happy that this book was about Cason. I was hoping he would get his own book. As I said with the second book, this book could probably be read as a stand alone. But at time you might be confused as to what's going on and who's who. So you may want to read these books in order.
I have liked Cason ever since the first book. I was hoping you would get to find out more about him and we do. He's a man who's been through a lot and than had spent years raising his boys and than getting his daughter. It's obvious he blames himself for stuff that happened with his daughter. He's protective of his family, sexy, dominate.
I liked Henley right away and thought she was the perfect match for Cason. She was sweet and had just enough sass.
Again I really enjoyed this book. I have become hooked on this series now. This book has a bit of everything. I have to say though at times the names get confusing in this series, because they all sound a like. But other than that there's nothing else.
Another 4 out of 5 stars and I can't wait to read Dom's book!!!
***I received a ARC of this book from the author for my honest review***
Wayward Beginning is Cason's book, he is the President of the Wayward Saints MC Club
In this book we find out a lot of stuff that were kind of a mystery in the previous books,, we find out what happened to his son's mother and we also see him fall in love again ....
This book follows on from book2 where two of the club members ended up in prison. Cason hires a lawyer to get them out and that how he meets the lovely Henley. From the first meeting there is a connection between them, but they need to win this case so they try keep it professional.
Together they fight hard and do everything they can to win the case and free his two boys.
Meanwhile they are getting closer and closer the more there together and eventually the heat becomes to much and they give in to the chemistry between them.
They have a lot of trouble, twists and turns to deal with in this book...
In this book we also get to know more about Cason's backstory, where in the last books he was kind of a mystery, and we only knew certain stuff about him...we also get the HOT sex scenes that we have come to expect from K.Renee
Another awesome book in the epic series ... we also get a sneak peak into the next book in the series at the end of this book ,,, and it looks GOOD
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Wayward Angel (Wayward Saints MC, #1) Wayward Soul (Wayward Saints MC, #2)
This is Henley and Cason’s story. Henley is the lawyer that is sent to Cason to help him get his sons out of lockup. When they meet sparks fly. Henley is determined to keep it professional but Cason has other ideas. When Henley is targeted and threatened Cason and the MC club step up to protect her. Can she trust them to protect her? When happens when Cason walks in and misunderstands a situation? Can Henley get him to see the truth before the threat comes for her? Or will he figure out what happened and protect her and claim her all at the same time? Can Henley count on Cason to protect her or will she do her own protecting? Can they find a middle ground? Are they good for each other in the long term?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I really enjoyed Cason’s story! If I am honest I didn’t think I would like or be able to get into the story of Anslie, Dom, Raef, Robbie and Bentley’s father. But from start to end I was drawn into the story and I grew to like him more and more. Henley is perfect for him! She’s shy but feisty; she sticks up for her new family and doesn’t take no messing. When Cason made the mistake of thinking that Henley had been cheating on him with her douchebag boss, I wanted to shout at him for being an idiot.
After losing the love of his life in a drive by shooting and having had a toxic relationship with his daughter’s Anslie’s mother the last thing Cason expects is to find love again. But when his son Dominic and his best friends son Jase get arrested and when he calls for a lawyer, the feisty beauty that is Henley Reid walks in. Henley is instantly attracted to the rough biker that is Cason. As Henley works on getting Dom and Jase free, she starts to receive threats. Working together to keep Henley safe, it isn’t long until Cason is falling for her but what will happen when Henley’s stalker steps out of the shadows and comes for her.
When I received the ARC copy of Wayward Beginning I was already reading another book and thought that I would wait to read WB until after I finished. However, I read the first page of WB and was hooked. I continued reading and didn't stop until I finished. Cason is definitely rocking the alpha biker dude thing even at 50. Henley is drawn into the MC life when she is assigned as the WSMC lawyer. Both of them know what they want in life and they THINK they know what will work. But are they right? This is the 3rd installment in the Wayward Saints MC series and incorporates all the characters that we have come to know and love in the other books. They are all well developed (in more ways than one) and make me want to move to Las Vegas to see if I can find them. Typical of a true MC, this book contains some violence and alot of hot, explicit sex. Can't wait to go back and read it all over again!
This book is part of a series and can be read as a stand alone. However, you would get a better understanding of the history if you read the others first. This does have an HEA.
This book was a quick read for me. It was okay. But my biggest issue was the timeline at the end. It doesn't add up. This book is comparable with the others with the development of Cason and Henley's relationship. We don't really see it happening. We see it start, but then it jumps ahead. There's more sex scenes than the relationship developing. Don't get me wrong. I love a great sex scene, but some of these just felt like filler to me. There were some other inconsistencies throughout the book as well. Maybe it's the beta reader in me, but I usually pick up on these and it bugs me.
I also found it predictable, I knew right away who was after Henley and wanted her out of the picture. Some of the story line felt unfinished to me also.
I know I'm in the minority with my opinion, so I would say that if you've read the other books, and liked them, you'll probably like this one as well.
This Is the 3rd book in the Wayward Saints series, you should read the other two first so you will be familiar with things that have happened. This is Cason and Henley’s story.
Cason is the president of the Wayward Saints MC. In this book we find out about his relationship with the boys Mom and also Ainleigh’s Mother. By the time he meets Henley he is tried of club whores and is missing having someone to come home to.
Henley is a lawyer who is assigned by her firm to represent two of the Saints after they are arrested. When she meets Cason sparks immediately begin to fly but she knows that she shouldn’t mix business with pleasure.
These two together are wonderful. This is my favorite book in this series yet. Probably because I love when the male lead is older. I love that Cason is in his fifties, he is till a hot, dirty talking biker and I love it!!
I honestly was unsure of how the story would fit in since Cason (Prez) is the father. The transition to tell the story of how it began is great! The story line gives the beginning and tells more about Cason and his children to the present time. I like that Cason's children are in this story even in the present.
Dom and Jase get into trouble and there is a new lawyer assigned to the MC. The new lawyer Henley stirs up feelings that Cason didn't think he would feel for anyone. Henley is threatened while taking on the case for Dom and Jase. So the MC looks into the threats. Henley's boss complicates things and Anslie ends up hurt. Later in the story more things happen to make the story even more eventful.
I received this arc for an honest review for Love Infinity Book Blog.
I love K. Renee's Wayward Saints! I fall in love with each of them for different reasons. This was a story about Cason and Henley. Cason's life has been far from perfect, but he has his family and club and that was all he cared about until he met Henley. Henley was a lawyer assigned to work on a case for the Wayward Saints. She never expects to end up with one of them. I love the passion, love, anger, and reconciliation in the book. Cason and Henley go through some obstacles to be together but it all works out in the end. I loved that we got to see previous characters involved in this book and am really looking forward to the next one! If you haven't read any of this series yet, you are definitely missing out.
This was a great book in the Wayward Saints series. I have really enjoyed this series since the first book came out. K. didn't disappoint with this one. These books keep getting better and better with each characters and story.
Wayward Beginning tells the story of Cason MC president of the Wayward Saints and Henley who is a lawyer that helps Cason out with legal matters pertaining to his sons.
Cason is a family man who protects what is his. He is rough and sexy and all business. Cason has had his ups and downs dealing with women in the past. Henley is one tough fire cracker. She is also all business and feisty. These two were awesome and lovable through out the entire book. I can't wait to read more from K.
*** Review copy provided by the author for an honest review ***
I have to be honest, I thought the first few chapters were a little vague. I would have loved to know more about avie and Selena (as far as the time between anslie called Cason and when he finally got to anslie) but the further I got into the book the more I loved it. Henley is this sassy lawyer who is assigned a case that involves two of the wayward Saints. she sees Cason (the wayward Saints president) and that's it these two can't stay away from each other. kay has outdone herself and should be proud of the work she does!! cannot wait for wayward son to come out!! the waiting is going to excruciating lol
Book Three- Wayward Beginning Henley- A smart as fuck lawyer who gets mixed up in the biker business that needs to be taken care of. She’s the only one that seems to be able to bring out the soft side of this big bad biker she meets. Cason- Anslie’s 50 year old father. He had love and lost it. Then Anslie’s mom came around and things got even more screwed up. Can he love again? Especially with a younger girl? What will happen when his past, and her current predicament's unfold!? Another 5 star for me. I love that you get to get in Cason’s head. As Prez of the Wayward Saints he needs a chance at love again. These two make such an odd pair but they work well together.

I was lucky enough to receive this ARC for a honest review.
I loved this book. Cason and Henley are such great characters. Cason has been through hell in his life but he has also been blessed with his children. The club and his kids....that's his life. When trouble comes knocking and he needs an attorney, Henley enters the picture. She is tough and the club life doesn't really scare her. Some major conflicts are in this book. Always one to take care of his, Cason is there each step of the way.
Excellent writing by this awesome author. This MC series is a MUST read.
LOVED IT. Love Mc Series From K.RENEE. Received As an ARC in Exchange For HONEST review. Absolutely LOVED CASON & HENLEY!!!! This is Book #3 In this series as with the First 2 plus the Wayward Valentine Novellea You can't help but Fall in Love with Kay's Characters. CASON is The Dreamy Father Of Dom,Raef,Bentley,Anslie....& is SMOKING hot Sure he Rough and Rugged but that's His Draw. And Sex Can You Say MIND Blowing.Yeah Didn't ,couldn't Put it Down...Thank You Kay !
In the beginning of this book, you read all about Cason's history and can't help but fall for him. This is one of those books that makes you really hope for the HERO to get the girl. Cason is now one of my favorite characters. There is also lots of chemistry between him and Hen and a good storyline. Also lots of MC action and development of secondary characters.
This was a great read. I am loving this series. The characters are great and each book has had a great story line. There's action, drama, surprises and HEA's. No cliff hangers and you don't have to read the other books in the series to read this book but you would miss out on some wonderful reads if you didn't. Rated very good
adored this book. I loved how Carson is with his children but i also feel like he tries to control them especially Anslie as he doesnt seem to let her make her own decision.
I loved Henley as a character and she seemed the perfect fit for Carson.
I am completely addicted to this series now and cant wait to read more.
