Not a fan of the art but the story slaps,

Loving some of the character design choices here, but now it feels like we are in the speed it up and get to the conclusion portion of the story. The story starts with a quick batman introduction as he faces off against a Kryptonian tech infused scarecrow, only for Jor-El to come in and end the fight. This is on the cusp of Jor-El addressing the United Nations over the advanced tech weapons for what he believes to be a solution (the solution to the power crisis he developed) and I’m glad to see that even in this universe batman and Superman have their roof chats with each other…even if Jor-El doesn’t listen when batman refuses to buy into his giving technology to the world shtick. It’s revealed that batman was on the receiving end of that kind of tech when his parents were gunned down by a super up gun which literally cussed them to boost into flames…if it was a normal gun they may be alive but they exist in a world that has advanced by one hundred years because of Superman.
Elsewhere, Constantine takes a visit over to the oblivion bar to grab a drink and settle his tab with Detective Chimp after he scammed that rich bloke, Lex Luthor, with a fake magic map. The fun thing with Bobo is that he had the phantom stranger tie everyone’s souls to their tab so they can’t fake their deaths to get around it…but as Bobo opens up to check the tabs he finds that Zatanna, Jason Blood, and even Madame Xanadu are all dead! The spectre, taking over the body of Renee Montoya, walks over to inform Constantine that Lex reversed his magic and made a real map and his friends have paid the price. Constantine heads out to settle the score with Lex, Spectre believing the punishment more than fits the crime but this also leaves Bobo worried everyone else will pay. At this same moment Lex is defeating a very Brosnan looking Doctor Fate. Snapping his neck and taking the helmet. Lex of course knows if he out the helmet on he would be under the control of Nabu, so he opts to shift the form of the helmet into a sword he can wield. Honestly Lex is the best part of this issue, what a creative solution.
Superman flies to the UN HQ where Lois is there to meet him, she reality checks him when he is surprised by the turnout of reporters as the world is going to be on edge when a god from another planet tells them how to act. Superman gives his presentation, mentioning all of the technology he has shared to help with better hospitals, education, and transportation but it is useless of there is still war, time, and greed. So he wants to solve all of that with a solution to the energy crisis. The UN immediately says no, it would destroy the world economy and according to General Lane Superman has ulterior motives. Lane steps forward and plays a clearly doctored video of Superman claiming he wants to use the power source to control the planet. Superman can hear the artificially generated audio in the recording, but Lane knows it will take time to process and in the meantime he can take preemptive measures to bring Superman down. He turns back his inhibitor bracelet to shift into his Captain atom form, calling in the wildcats for a brawl in the UN. Superman fights back by throwing green lantern away, but Captain atom blasts him with red solar radiation. Deathstroke slashes into him and G.I.Robot blasts Superman out of the building.
Jor-El hastily calls Lois to use any evidence she has against her father now, only for Zealot to teleport in and stab him on the back as the other wildcats rush in with their green lantern jet packs. Lois runs to confront her father as he clans be is only doing engage is best for the planet. But as Lois storms off it doesn’t take long for Sam to rejoin the fight as Superman is bashed into the ground. He is able to use his laser vision to kick up dirt to blind the wildcats to slip away, all while Lois makes a call to Jimmy to make their own move. Superman flew all the way back to the Kent farm where he crashes into the barn. Martha ran out to find him, as he deliriously tells her it’s all his fault. They are going to take the tractor and turn it into another weapon to kill more people all because he wanted to stop death. Martha tells him he can’t be responsible for humans dying, only for Jor-El to confide in her that his family is also dead because of him. The issue ends with the wildcats returning to base as their hunt for Superman continues. Sam’s plan is to appear like they are capturing him, not to weaken him enough for an “accidental” killing blow. But then a voice echoes out in their halls as it says not to worry about Superman. The voice mentions a rumor about their green lantern not dealing with yellow well, and with a snap of Lex’s fingers Hal bursts into yellow hellfire flames. His final act reaching for the ring which slipped off his finger. Sam is ready to fight with the others to kill whoever took down one of their own, only for Lex to walk in with pretty badass green, purple, and gold magic armor and the fate sword as he announces himself as…HEX Luthor…BWAHAHAHA, what a stupid name. The armor is fire but dude come on. You can’t be choosing your own name like that. Oh also Lex is planning on taking over the world himself and wants everyone to bow down to him. But with a name like Hex…really?

This has a ton going on and it feels chaotic at times but it is fun. I like the artwork and it has a unique feel.

Neat seeing things ramp up towards the finale, still don't love a lot of the smaller choices this book makes but the larger point it seems to be making works well enough.

Hex Luther…? Really? Writers couldn’t come up with a better name. Although, him armor does look cool.
