Fast forward the story about 20 years to read about Griff. He is the son of Sibyl and Raife, and the red wulver who will fulfill the prophecy. Bridget was abandoned at the temple as a baby and raised by wulvers, Aleese and Alaric. Bridget is also being groomed to be a temple guardian and priestess.
Loved this story. I'm really happy I didn't have to wait long after second book. Not sure how to review near perfection. I've not met a Selena Kitt book I didn't like/love. She is a great author who is extremely talented at telling amazing stories.
We get to see glimpses of what the rest of the pack is doing and meet their kids. The only thing that was hard to follow for me was the magic at the end. It felt rushed to me. I still enjoyed this story immensely and I truly felt the love between Griff and Bridget. They made my heart flutter at times.
Overall, the story is fantastic, filled with lots of twists and turns and really kept my interest throughout the entire book. It was the perfect amount of suspense, story and sex and a wonderful ending to a great series.
Do you believe in Magic? You would think that Griff (a Red Wulver and future King of the Blood Reign Prophecy) would, but he doesn't, well not until he sees unexplainable things happening right before his eyes. I'm not talking about shape shifting either because that he gets, he is a shifter himself, but when Bridget (an orphan raised by wulvers in a secluded wilderness temple to be its priestess and guardian) tells him about magic and shows him some he still has a hard time believing in it. I wanted to laugh because he kept saying he doesn't believe in magic, prophecies, or one true loves through most of the book, then at 80% something so far out there that he cannot explain away finals convinces him that there really is magic, prophecies and one true loves. I thought it was going to take Bridget smacking him upside his head with an enchanted arrow to convince him.
I think Selena Kitt has cover a wide variety of paranormal in this book, we have Wulver shifters, magic spells (good and evil), a witch, and dragons, plus to add into the fun we have pirates too! EXCELLENT! This book had lots of fun, a few laughs, a few oh-nos and a bunch of oh yeahs. ;) This is an enjoyable series and I look forward to the next book.
ARC received from Author and Pre-ordered from Amazon on 6/7/15
This was an enjoyable read. It was nice to see how the children of Raife, Darrow and Donal are doing and how the pact has adjusted to life's changes. This story is more about how Raife finally embraces his destiny and finds his one true mate.
A Great Ending to the Highland Wolf Pact trilogy!! Selena Kitt is a expert storyteller. In all 3 of her books I felt like I was there. She writes descriptive detailed dimensional characters and the backdrop of the scenes really come alive.
I love the prophecy of the Red Wulver. Griff is the son of the H/H of book one Raife the King of the Wulvers and his human Mate Sybil. The story is about him being the Red Wulver and finding his lost clan of Wulvers and reuniting them. First he must go to the island of Sara Brae where he meets his one true mate Bridget. Bridget is in training to become the Guardian Priestess Warrior for the temple. They both embark on a very dangerous path with old villains reappearing.
I always love being reunited with all the old characters from previous stories in a series and to see what there lives and families have become.
Blood Reign is a very good story, fast moving, action and a heated sensual romance between Griff and Bridget. I do suggest you read the stories in order to better understand.
Loved how Bridget called out Griff on his cockiness and didn't let him intimidate her and pulled the sweetness out of him. I was worried Griff might not be ready to Lead the pack but with Bridget by his side it seems to ground him. The ending leads me to believe there will be more to this series...yay!
This takes place twenty years or so after the first two books in the series. Griff is a "red wulver" - the one of the prophecy, and it is foretold that he will be the king that leads and reunites the lost wulver packs. In his search for his destiny, he comes across the temple of Asher and Ardis, the wulver ancestors and encounters Bridgit, a human woman who is training to be a guardian and priestess of the temple. She and her parents protect the magic of the temple. But Griff doesn't believe in magic, nor does he believe in "true mates" but the more he sees and the more time he spends with Bridgit, the more tempted he is to believe. There's also an outside threat in the form of a blast from the past (and a squicky little mother/son relationship) which coincides with Griff's search for the lost packs.
So here's the thing. I liked the arc of the story, the outside threats and the magic and destinies and trusting in fate. That was all pretty cool. Even the relationship between Griff and Bridgit is pretty nice in the last 50% of the book. But I felt that something fundamental was missing in this story. Griff begins the book acting like a petulant teenager. (I actually wondered how old he was...he couldn't have been more than 20). He knows he's the future king, the Red Wulver and he's impatient to lead, even though his father repeatedly points out that he's not ready, he has no understanding of what it actually takes to lead. Griff disagrees - he's a king and he wants to lead NOW. So, he takes off in search of his destiny so that he can lead as soon as possible and show his father that he's ready. He's spoiled, arrogant and he has no understanding of leadership...that it takes character, being a role model and being unselfish to be a good leader. So needless to say, Griff has a lot to learn.
Although his character improves somewhat and that spoiled side of his personality comes out much less in the later half of the book, there is absolutely nothing to show the reader that Griff has learned anything about leadership. In fact, the only thing he can possibly learn is that if you have glowing red eyes people will follow you blindly whether you've proven yourself a good leader or not. And that's my problem with this story (and to me this is huge!). Griff doesn't learn anything about being a leader. There is no lesson learned or reflection. What did he do to earn it? And even worse, there was no confrontation or interaction between father and son when this was supposed to be a major point of contention. To me this was a major flaw - when you set up the need for character growth at the beginning of a story, you provide it. So I was disappointed there.

Highland Wolf Pact Blood Reign (Highland Wolf Pact #3) by Selena Kitt Bridget is an orphan raised by wulvers to be a priestess and temple guardian. She is bested by; Griffith the prophesied Red Wulver, future King of the Blood Reign.
Selena Kitt did a fanatic job bringing this series together. Details from the other books fell in place. The elements are commendable.
I really enjoyed Griffith. It would be hard enough to be Raife’s son; let alone knowing you are part of a prophecy. Just a bit of pressure that he handles decently. He is young, a bit impatient, egotistical, and takes risks.
Bridget is extremely likeable. She loves her adopted parents. She wants to honor them and her upbringing.
The plot was exciting. Details from the other books came into play and kept me enthralled. The historical aspects are well done and thought out. This was a great series that was original and mesmerizing.

I love this series and this was a fast-paced and exciting story. Griff thinks he's ready to take over as pack leader, but his dad Raife says he still has more to learn. When Griff hears that he may be the Red Wolf/Dragon King, he takes off on a journey to see if he can find the lost wolf packs. He ends up on an island where he meets Bridget, who is training to be the high priestess. There is attraction, denial, fighting, witches, magic and so much more in this book.
I received an arc for an honest review. This is Griffith and Bridget's story. Bridget is destined to be the High Priestess the Guardian of the Temple. and Griffith is destined to be King. They meet in battle which I think is awesome. Loads of twist and turns in this book. Watch out for the witch Morgana tho. She's BACK! So what are you waiting for?
So this big idiot Griff is a wolf and still didn't believe in magic?
This last one seemed rushed to me, and if it is the last one, why not spill it all?! Who were her parents?
Why throw in that incest scene? Gross.
How the hell was she able to hide in a tree and sneak into a tent with so many wulvers around? They would have smelled her. Where did uldred find the other wulvers? The prophecy itself was lame. How did Rory get kidnapped? How did they know who he was? Why no conversation between Griff and his parents? All of a sudden Griff is ready to lead?! How will Henry VIII feel knowing that these two are being referred to as King and Queen?
After reading this series, I am in love with mythological werewolves and the way Selena explained them finding their true mates!! Such an awesome series, how three story went full circle from the first book to the third!! A must read!!
WoW, Another best for this author, one book after another kept me in transe, the banter alone, pearly chuckles. Bridget has so much sass and zest. She found her mate in Griff. The suspense was very well though out. Bravo! Words cannot express it, it’s hot.
"ALL IS AS IT SHOULD BE" DELICIOUSLY SEXY, COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING AND DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!! Book: Blood Reign Series: Highland Wolf Pact: A Scottish Werewolf Shifter Romance Author: Selena Kitt My Rating: FIVE EXTRAORDINARY STARS *****
Wow! Selena Kitt has dazzled us yet again with another brilliant addition to her extraordinary Highland Wolf Pact Series. This offering is entitled Blood Reign and is the third book of this amazing chronicle but hopefully, not the last. I fell head over heels in love with this remarkable saga in Book One and have been held completely and totally under its spell as Kitt skillfully wove her wonderfully imaginative web around me enveloping me with the magic and fantasy of the story and its characters. I have always loved both paranormal and historical romance but when you combine the two and factor in that it's written by Selena Kitt, well, you have utter perfection. I now have this overwhelming desire to travel to Scotland so that I myself may experience the rich history, majestic beauty, powerful magic and fantastical wonderment so naturally inherit of this mystically reverent land. Sigh..... So dreamy..... The story is riveting, enchanting, original, imaginative, well developed, heartbreaking, heartwarming, sweet, romantic, sensual and arousing. And did I say hot and dreamy? Oh yes! Very hot and very dreamy! Sigh.... These are only a few of the words that come to mind after reading this story. The dialogue is smart, authentic, exceptionally well written and flows effortlessly, so much so, it's almost lyrical. I was totally mesmerized. And the characters, well, let's just say they are the heart and the soul of the story. They are fascinating, captivating, engaging, endearing and sexy as sin! Oh my! They grab your attention, capture your heart and hold you prisoner from beginning to end. Kitt skillfully combines these elements into a delightfully entertaining paranormal/historical romance filled to the brim with action, suspense, adventure, magic, destiny and sweet romance. If you love reading sexy paranormal romance and enchanting historical love stories, then this is definitely the book for you. Although we are first introduced to several of the characters in the first and second book of the series, I believe this book can be read as a standalone novel. The author does a wonderful job of catching the reader up to speed with the important aspect of the story without having to read the first two books. It has no cliffhangers to speak of and comes complete with its very own happily ever after ending and it even includes a perfect opportunity for another wonderful story in the future. However, having said that, I would highly recommend reading the first and second book in the series, Highland Wolf Pact and Compromising Positions, to enrich your reading experience. You will never regret it! Being the son of the wulver pack leader has never been easy for Griffith especially now that he has become a wulver warrior himself. The prophecy accompanying his birth, foretelling him to be the Red Wulver and claiming him to become the savior of his race, the bringer of peace between the wulvers and the humans has completely overshadowed his life and has now become his burden. He is the half wolf, half man with red fur and flashing red eyes who will discover and unite the lost packs and become their king, The Dragon King of the Blood Reign. The expectations have become too great so Griff sets out on the journey of a lifetime in search of a lost pack and hopefully a pack of his own. Griff doesn't believe in magic or destiny; he only believes in himself and his skill as a warrior - until now. After meeting the beautiful warrior and priestess in training, Bridget, at the Temple of Asher and Ardis on the island of Shara Brae, Griff soon discovers that no matter how much he disbelieves and denies his fate, magic and destiny do exist as well as his one true mate along with a heinous enemy determined to steal not only Griff's birthright but the throne of England as well. Oh my! No spoilers from me but I will say this.....Handsome, headstrong wulver warrior who is destined to become the King of the Wulvers-check! Beautiful, courageous, curvaceous human trained as a warrior and a priestess who is destined to become a wulver queen-check! Wonderful cast of dynamic characters-check! Danger, drama, action, adventure, magic, destiny, heinous enemies and evil machinations-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, heartbreaking angst, true love, sweet romance and a pinch of humor-check! And last but not least, the answer to the age old question of what any self respecting Scotsman wears under his kilt-you betcha! That and an old lot more! Deliciously sexy, completely captivating and delightfully entertaining! Complimentary copy received in exchange for an honest review.
Yer t’red wulver. Tis yer destiny, Griff. What a HOWLING story! Selena has done it again! She has written another furrefic Highland Wolf story, and what a story it is!! At first I wasn't convinced that I would want to read a story set 20+ years after the first two books, let alone like it! I should have known better! Not only did I read it, but I read it and loved it! In fact, I will go as far to say that it is my favorite one in this series!! (*drool* Did you see that wolfelicious cover?! Now picture it as a drool proof poster! *drool*) I love how different this story is from the others, centered for the majority of the book on 4 people, with the focus mostly on Griff & Bridget. Speaking of Griff, I have to admit that for a good portion of this book I could not stand him. He's such an arrogant, cocky jerk that needed to be taken down about 10 pegs, never mind one or two! In fact, Bridget says it best - He was nothing but a bragging, boastful boy. LOL But then Griff comes up with this later on - “Has any man e’er told ye how beautiful ye’re, Bridget?” If Griff only knew what she was comparing to the size of Stonehenge, well his ego would be even bigger than...well, Stonehenge! LOL Bridget's a strong, innocent type of a female, training to be both Temple Guardian and Temple Priestess which means that she is both warrior & able to use & respect the powers & magic. “Guardian, priestess, wife, mother, she is all of those things.” Raghnall nodded. The mage is right – women ARE... EVERYTHING! *innocent smile* All of that will become clear as you read the book. There are so many aspects to this story, all beautifully woven together to make this into the fangtastic story it is. Aspects like humor, magic, love, prophecy, wulver, wolf, warrior, sadness, happiness, just to name a few. About a third or so of the way in, my heart both broke & cheered, leaving me crying so much I couldn't read through my tears! A twist that I didn't see coming. But I am glad it did. I love when a book speaks to me in such a way that I become a part of the story, feeling along with the characters, feeling for them, believing with & for them, seeing, smelling, hearing as they do, essentially taking me on the same emotional, mystical, magical roller coaster that her characters go on. It makes the story that much better, but it also says a lot about the author as well. Selena has a phenomenal gift whose paranormal books touch me deep into my soul!! I cannot wait for more Highland Wolves to love! (I am confident that her other books are just as great, but so far I have read only her paranormal ones.)
Blood Reign by Selena Kitt Griff wanted to be a leader and knew his father was in his way. He left to search for the lost wulvers hoping they were without a leader and he will be the one to lead. Bridget was a human girl training with her adoptive parents Alaric and Aleesa. They were wulvers and was preparing her because she was both guardian-in-training and priestess-in-training for the Temple of Ardis and Asher. When Griff came upon the Temple he had to fight Bridget to earn entrance to the Temple. He bested her and her pride was hurt. When she revealed to him that she was a woman Griff was shocked and doubted of her intentions thinking that maybe there was a trap. But there was something else that he was feeling about this woman. When Griff told Alaric and Alessa who he was they tested him with the Dragon and truth was told. And Bridget was feeling attracted to the Red Wulver too. But she has to take her vows as a priestess and warrior for the Temple. Would that be enough? Then, the passion prevailed and “It is all as it should be”. The search for the lost wulvers was very difficult and very dangerous and one of them was almost dead before the mission was finished. The enemy Dark Magic was strong. Was it possible that Griff had failed and everyone he cares would be death? This book was interesting, packed with suspense, action, intrigue and a different sort of characters that made the reading very amusing and stimulant. Liked the way the author developed Griff’s character so he could believe and trust in magic through the adventure he sought. The old mage character was very funny. The story pace was good also, the continuity of the plot with the others books so there weren’t flaws in the story. The end opens doors to more adventures and characters. There was a hint about Rory? Think I’ll be keeping an eye on future books because I have liked this stories very much.
I received a ARC for an honest review. The story of Griff and Bridget is adventurous, fun and romantic Griff is young and arrogant but honest but doesn't believe in fated mates like his best friends do and he doen't believe in magic or the prophecy so he says he doesn't seem to realize that his way is not always the right way one evening he listen to the old midwife and an old family servant talking about the prophecy of the lost wulvers they weren't positive how the prophecies were suppose to be fufilled but since Griff had the red eyes and when he changed his fur was red and he was to lead the den when he was ready even though he thought he was ready right now but he has not shown his father that he is truly ready yet but now listening to the women he thinks that if he goes off and finds the lost wulvers that he will be their king and come back and show his father that he was ready so one night he leaves home with out telling anyone where he is going he goes to the temple of Asher and Ardis so he can find out where the lost wulvers are but when he gets there he runs into some one he thinks is a lad that he has to fight t get into the temple and once he wins he finds out that it is a woman and her name is Bridget and she is to be the next Priestess of the temple Bridget was raised by Alaric and Aleesa both wulvers who are the current Temple Priestess and Guardian but Bridget is human and she has been training to be both Guardian and Preistess but that is questionable once Griff comes and they begin to talk and understand one another but can Bridget get Griff to trust in the magic and trust in her they want to be together but they both still have their destinies to be fulfilled except the prophecy may change all of their destinies when black magic, an evil Mother and her crazy son decide that they want to rule the wulvers. This is a really wonderful book definitely well written. Recommend.
The third book takes place about twenty years after Highland Wolf Pact and Compromising Positions. Our hero of the story is the son of Raife and Sibyl (the main couple in book one), he is talented and a skilled warrior just like his father. But Raife is impatient with life, he wants to be the leader and NOW, he doesn’t understand certain ways that his father is determined to keep a hold on. He knows that he is different, and that he could be the future of their race. He has red eyes and could be the future king to bring together all the lost wolven pacts together. So he leaves his wolf pack to go to a sacred monastery on an island nearby to find the truth and find out what his destiny truly is. There he meets a lovely young woman, who is to be the future priestess. A woman who has was adopted as a young girl by the caretakers (who are also the missing couple from years ago that went missing —our heroine Kirsten in book two’s parents) But there is a hidden destiny and a course that neither Bridget or Griffith will expect or a love they never expected to find.
What a truly remarkable end to a wonderful trilogy and I am so heartbroken that this series is OVER. I became so addicted to this world that this author penned for us. So brilliantly written with great detail and heartwarming characters that feel so alive and real amidst these pages. I truly didn’t expect this book to turn out the way that it does and to finally see the witch of the trilogy to come to a great end (truly evil this one is) But I think these two might be my favorite couple in the way that their relationship comes together in the end. I will say that the only downside to this story was the ending….WAY to abrupt and short, I would have liked a nice epilogue. However the story overall was thrilling, exciting, and a truly sensational read that tugs at your heartstrings with some great laughs along the way. Highly recommend for paranormal and historical lovers!!
This is the third book of a fantastic trilogy. I couldn't put it down. Love a Wulver-man in kilts. This story takes place 20 years after last book. Griffith is the son of Raife the Wulver Alpha and is suppose to be part of a prophecy that states a Red wolf will become the king of all wulvers. His eyes and fur turns red when he becomes a wolf. The prophecy also talks of lost tribes of Wulvers in Skara Brae an Island in the far North of Scotland. Griffith feels that if he has any chance to becoming an Alpha he should find the lost tribes and lead them. At Skara Brae he meets Bridget. She was raised by Wulvers to be the priestess and guardian of the wilderness temple. They meet in battle and when Griffith defeats her he lets her live. He's the only one to have beaten her in battle. Oh! And the witch Moraga is back with a son!. I wont write anymore don't want to give anything away. ;) This story kept me hooked to the very end. Highly recommend to all shifter lovers. I received this book as an ARC from Selena Kitt for an honest review.
Griffith is the son of the alpha of the last known wulver pack. He’s at that age where he wants to be in charge of his pack, but youth and ego have him not quite ready for it. When he overhears the elder women talking about the red wulver prophecy and having heard previous hints about it possibly being him, he decides to take destiny in his own hands and find the lost packs even if he doesn’t really believe in magic and destiny. Bridget is a human being raised by two wulvers in a sacred temple in a faraway island. When Griffith approaches the temple and bests her, she’s forced to allow him access. His disbelief in magic infuriates her even more. Unfortunately, she can’t help but be drawn to him.
This book is the third in the Highland Wolf Pack. It takes places years after the first two. Griffith is the son of Raife and Sybil (the hero and heroine from the first book). In the other two books, there was a prophecy about the Red Wulver, a prince among the wulvers who would find the lost packs and join them. Griffith, in youthful ignorance, has decided that it must be him and starts his journey.
There not too many books where you get to see one of the main characters do so much growth in one book, but the author has successfully done that with Griffith. Bridget had her own life-changing experiences too within the book, but hers was different. I really liked the connection to the other books and the way the continual storyline within the trilogy was concluded. Once I started reading the book, it was hard to put down until I was done. I highly recommend to anyone that likes this genre.

This books picks up 20 years later once Griffin is all grown up and chomping at the bit to lead. After a schooling from Raife in front of the whole pack and listening to chatter from the older wulver women, Griff sets out to discover whether he really is part of a prophecy or if "magic" and this prophecy are botha nonsense. Griff is skeptical and does not believe in magic or having a "one true mate". Little does he know that both are more true than he knows.
Once Griff arrives at the sacred Temple of Ardis and Asher, he's met by the guardian of the temple and must defeat the guardian to gain entrance, proving his worthiness. Little does he know that this guardian will be his one true mate for the guardian is a woman, Bridget, who has lived at the temple her whole life and was trained by the Gray Ghost wulver, who also happens to be her adoptive father. Griff is taken by surprise that this sprite of a woman, not even a wulver, has mastered great swordsmanship. Bridget is full of surprises for she is also a high priestess in training with magical powers. Griff and Bridget come together after much strife. They cannot live without each other.
As with many shifter books, there is an epic battle that ensues leaving us wondering if there will be a happily ever after for the hero and heroine. Griff is determined to lead the lost wulver packs and make the prophecy a reality.
I enjoyed this book and hope it wasn't the last we'll hear from the Highland Wolf Pact. There are many more stories to be told.
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
I so loved Griff's and Bridgets story!!!
Bridget was an orphan raised by wulvers in a secluded wilderness temple to be its priestess and guardian, but now the outside world has found her and her world will be changed forever. Being suddenly swept up in ancient prophecies and ancestral blood feuds is bad enough, but fighting off the desire ignited in her heart by the proud and arrogant wulver warrior, Griffith, the only man who has ever defeated her in battle, may prove to be her greatest battle yet…
When you’re the son of the wulver pack leader, and your father isn’t about to roll over and show you his belly, life is tough enough. But when you’re the Red Wulver, future King of the Blood Reign Prophecy, it’s hard to know your own heart, let alone who to trust while trying to be the liberator of your people. Just as you finally take your fate into your own hands you’ve got your father, the pack leader, hot on your trail and you run headlong into a deadly ancient enemy you never even knew you had.
And in the midst of the chaos you crash into the aggravating, infuriating and impossibly beguiling, Bridget, the one obstacle in your path you’re not sure you want to overcome
Fast paced ,filled with action and wulvers!
The plot was really intresting and well written with lots of twists and turns that had you hanging .
This is the third book in the series and ties in nicely with the first two. Although this is set almost 20 plus years after the second book ends. The aspect I loved most was that it can be read as a stand-alone if you were to just pick it up for a quick read. It being in the series, the stories meld and make the complexity of getting to know the 'Highland' Wulvers and how they function that much better!
This book follows Raife's son Griff and his need to find his own way. Being the son of the Alpha of the pack puts enough pressure on his shoulders, add in things he doesn't want to accept/believe will have him going on an adventure of a life-time. From leaving home, sailing with his horse, to searching for answers...Griff's journey is that of self-discovery and acceptance.
All Bridgett's ever known was life with her parents, but meeting Griff will be the catalyst to a destiny she can not deny. Fierce, protective, and beautiful...Bridgett will find her place and her heart.
I enjoyed immersing myself in the wulver-world and feeling the emotions pouring from the pages. The story is face paced and written to sound like your listening to Scottish people talking back in the time period portrayed.
This is is the story of Griffith, the Red Wulver and son of Raife and Sybil, the H and h in book one and Bridget and human who was raised by Wulver parents. Giff is an egotistical little brat who believes that he is ready to lead because of the prophecy that was told. His parents especially his father thinks he is reckless and immature. griff decides to go off and fulfill his destiny and learns of a temple where he can get all the answers. Bridget has been raised to be both guardian and priestess of the temple. When they meet Griff successful beats her in combat not knowing she is a woman and gains entry into the temple. There they realize that his destiny is within reach but also that Bridget is his True Mate. While this is a wonderful thing it has its drawn backs for once Bridet becomes Priestess she can no longer leave the temple and for Griff to fulfill his destiny he must leave. What will this couple do? This is a love story that has it all drama, adventure, violence and death. We do get to revisit all of characters from previous books yes we get to see an old enemy reappear and maybe get a glimpse of the stories that can and may be told in the future. This is a standalone but you may want to read the first two books so you can get an understanding of what is going on.
I received a copy of this book for a honest review....
Griff has grown up hearing that he is the Red Wulver. Born to find the lost packs and rule as King of the Wulvers. His problem is, the Alpha is his father, who he loves and doesn't want to challenge. The only way around it is for him to leave and search for the other packs . Then lead them. As much as he is trying to follow his destiny, he refuses to believe in destiny or any kind of magic. He only believes in what he can see with his own eyes. Even the idea of "one true mate" is not likely to be true.
Bridget was abandoned as a baby at the entrance to the hidden temple. The guardian and priestess raised her as their own, and trained her to do both jobs. That means she is as good with the magic needed to be a priestess as she is with the swordplay needed to be a guardian. It also means her life is dedicated to the temple. When Griff gets to the temple he must make the guardian yield to gain entrance and the answers he needs. We end up with one furious Wulver and a very annoyed guardian. Our hero is a very stubborn man with plenty of animal magnetism. Our heroine is sure everything will be as it should be. They face mortal danger from someone we met in a previous book. But you could easily read this as a stand alone.
This was just such a wonderful, magical story, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading; it was so intriguing, it just drew me in from the beginning. Griff is ready to rule, but will not challenge his father, Raife, for leadership. With talk of fate, destiny and prophecies, Griff goes in search of the Temple of Asher and Ardis for information about the Lost Packs. Defeating Bridget, the guardian/priestess in waiting, in a fight to gain entrance into the Temple, Griff then finds a few surprises waiting for him. Not believing in a one true mate, Griff feels an overwhelming longing for Bridget; and while Bridget has never questioned her destiny, she too now has doubts about her future. Uldred would never be a wulver, but he wanted their abilities and powers for his own advantage, and his mother, the witch Moraga, casts dark magic upon the wulvers. Not only that Bridget and Griff fall prey to the witch’s evil. It is only during the eclipse that the truth is finally revealed. As far as I am concerned, this is a must “read” and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
