Heaven Sent gets a hell of new keyboardist with a name to match. Heller Witting is an amazing musician and proves to be the answer to a sound that the band was missing. With lavender hair and big violet eyes, he captivates Brent Rose from the start, and not just with his music.

Brent knows better than to get involved with a member of the band. That just invites trouble and that’s the last thing he wants for Heaven Sent. So he’ll just keep the attraction to himself. Doesn’t matter anyway. Hell couldn’t possibly want him. After all, Brent’s not gorgeous and flashy like the other members of the band.

When Hell makes his interest in Brent all too obvious, Brent is unprepared and unable to stay away.

Fine, if they just keep it at sex, everything will be all right.

Hell was one of the most interesting characters I have read in a long time. Loved him and Brent together. It was a great story.

Someone, at some point, recommended this book as having a fun femme MC.

This someone obviously does not share my personal history, since I was clearly born at the wrong time and the wrong place to appreciate "the cherub". See, I was a teenager in the 80s. In Europe, whose popular musical style during the 80s is commonly referred to as 'Euro-pop' or 'synthpop'. We had one radiostation that played popular music in the 80s and of course, before we were all saved by alt rock and grunge, every single fucking song I listened to had synthesizers in them. Serious discussions were held in music magazines about how the Casio would replace all other instruments eventually. So when this books opens in an Italian nightclub with a concert by a guy with 5 Casios, I'm thinking: "It's Howard Jones in an Italian disco!"

And then he joins a band, so now he is Nick Rhodes!

And Heaven Sent has turned into Duran Duran (Roger Taylor all the way, Bitches)!

(And I am pretty fucking sure they actually wear these outfits at some point in the book, too).

Of course, Hell is German, so maybe they're more Alphaville, eh? Yeah, look, there's Johnnie and Brent and Darien in the picture!

Cue 'Forever Young' here, cause that's how I feel now, baby!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGAVwQ...

And you can't tell me Heaven Sent sounds nothing like that, because there is really surprisingly little about music in these books about rock stars.

So, my unfortunately infinite 80s Europop associations aside, is this book any good? If you like your Big Misunderstanding followed by a Grand Declaration of Love in a Public Setting (I am, like, SO embarrassed, but SO flattered at the same time! Squeee!!!) and if you think it's romantic rather than creepy that Hell has always been totally Katie Holmes to Brent's Tom Cruise (did he have posters? I had posters. Of Roger Taylor, not Cruise), then you might like this.

Me? The 54 'cherub's and the 69 'imp's Mykles uses to describe Hell totally killed it for me.

Review lengkap nya nih....

Ceritanya begini

gak berani ngedeketin Hell, yg kecil imut tapi luar biasa pede...

Dimata Brent, Hell itu imuuuut banget deh pokoknya,Hell emang "cantik" kayak anak perempuan hihihihihihihii dan selalu membuat dia "Mengeras dan "Mendamba penuh gairah" sama si kecil itu.

Brent juga punya FANS PHOBIA, yang selalu panik kalo di deketin fans...Nah, si imut Hell , malah akhir nya berubah jadi pelindung Brent.
Sampe pada suatu hari, di pesta after konser pertama mereka, di pesta yang membosankan, Brent mergokin Reese dan Luc making out dan sirik tanda tak mampu dia sodara2 !!!!

Hell yang udah ngebet sama Brent sejak lama, gak mengalami kesulitan buat ngerayu Brent.
Hell bahkan sempet cemburu sama Luc !!!

Hail Hell !!!

GIDDY GIDDY GIDDY !!!!!

I'm a dorky goof and I just really enjoyed this whole series. This one though, was by far my favorite. I'm not able to review each of the books in this series, but I just had to make some comments in regards to this story.

This 3rd book in the series is Brent's story. The lead guitarist has insecurity issues. He knows no one truly wants him, just the rocker persona that he portrays.

Heller (Hell) is one of the most unique and delightfully surprising characters that I've met. I did not expect him here, in this rocker series. In a fae/fantasy maybe, but not here. What a delight! He was just so well drawn and written that I think he'll be a favorite for everyone.

Good God, the little devil didn't have a gag reflex!

The blessed, awful imp leaned in and started to pound...

Brent bitterly lamented that he couldn't taste it, but no matter what had been said, one didn't swallow on the first date.

The descriptives developed and used here are the best I've read in any m/m read so far. Fresh, unique and engaging. Mykles really notched it up in this book.

Unfortunately, even with all the good there is still a complaint. This author seems to rely too heavily on sex (and I love sex scenes!) for building a relationship. There isn't any insight into why they want to be together other than the great sex. And the sex is great. Sure there's the, "he's so cute" and the needs and wants, but the why is missing.

Also, there is a bit of jealousy that begins to come off as over-the-top, but stick with it, it gets resolved and feels poignant. Still, I'm sticking with a huge 4 stars for the clever descriptive terms and Hell's unique character development.

***As the series continues a bit more relationship development occurs. The boys are "there" for each other, so that helps with believability.

Well that was most definitely my favorite in the series so far. I absolutely loved it! Brent is insecure and an introvert. Hell is just adorable, pushy, extremely extroverted, and so good for Brent. I understood Brent's hesitance to deal with his insecurity and his issues. Those are huge painful things for anyone to deal with and it is often just easier to continue to bury them. My only issue was the quick wrap up. I would have liked to have seen more of Brent dealing with things, both with his friends and with Hell.
That said I still enjoyed the hell out of this book. Lol!

Holy cow! Hell not only swept Brent off of his feet, but mine as well! What a sexy little man he is! Too bad he's a figment of Jet's imagination. What a whirlwind he would have been in real life! So damn sexy and cute! Loved him!

Brent is the amazing guitarist for the band Heaven Sent. He's also the musical genius behind the songs. While trying to add to the band's overall sound, Brent scouts Hell Witting, a talented keyboardist with a promising career. Hell is adorable and feisty and Brent is immediately attracted to him. This was a cute story and I enjoyed it for the most part. Hell was extremely aggressive which was fun to see in such a small and pert package. Brent didn't stand a chance. At the end, I thought Hell's jealous streak was a bit overly dramatic for no reason and it almost ruined the story for me. Also, I got angry when Hell I thought that was a mega-bitchy move and was another reason I gave the story 3 stars. If that one scene was removed, this would have been a 4 star book for me.

This is my favourite book in the series and my favourite couple. Hell and Brent are so sweet (and hot) together. Brent's insecurity and low self-esteem broke my heart and I think Hell was the perfect man to bring him into his own. Hell is just plain beautiful and charismatic and I love that he was the aggressive one in the relationship, that he gave Brent so much support even when the man he was in love with wouldn't admit he loved him back. When Hell left, it was the only decision he could make to either let the relationship die or move it forward and I'm really glad things worked out so great. Love this couple.

Hell is without a doubt my favorite addition to the Heaven Sent band, world, series, everything. I adore this crazy little German so very hard. Brent was already my personal favorite in the band because he comes across with this seriously haunted persona, finding out he's got self-esteem issues stemming from always being used as a substitute for someone else?

#instalove

I could hashtag Hell literally to Hell and back. I loved this book that much. I was floored by how masculine he came across even if he did look like a Kewpie doll. I loved how he was always in control of what he wanted. I loved his jealousy. I loved his LOVE for Brent. There was basically nothing in this I didn't love including the angry fight with pretty much everyone since it needed to be done for them all to move on.

Closure hurts sometimes. I love that Jet Mykles conveyed this concept perfectly with Hell.

My one issue was Brent calling Hell a cherub continuously---until Brent himself comments on how he just can't keep doing that. I laughed out loud as the character realized what I, the reader, had been thinking the whole time. Hell makes a better imp anyway. I'll never thank my friend enough for loaning me this through the Kindle lending program.

With two solid and highly entertaining books to start Jet Mykles’ series about a rock band and the sexual exploits of its members from hookups to marriage, it’s possible that the books could either become repetitive or formulaic. Thankfully, Hell has managed to skirt that dreaded pitfall and deliver a surprisingly fresh and new take on the band members and their antics. This is easily read as a stand alone title with just enough back story offered to catch up any new reader, but those who have been following the series will enjoy the progression of relationships as well as glimpses into past and future highlighted characters.

This time the reclusive guitar player is on tap as he is thrust into the foreground when the band’s new keyboard player has his violet eyes set firmly on Brent. Brent is a departure from the two previous band members, Luc and Johnnie, in that he actively dislikes the crazy fandom and press promoting aspect of their music. While he loves to play and comes alive onstage, offstage he’s quiet and reserved hiding behind his omnipresent sunglasses. His solitary resolve is shaken when Hell joins the band and professes to be a fan of Brent’s, not just the band but Brent in particular. Brent has a long history of being used for his talent, stardom, or simply to be close to other band members so he has considerable trepidation at this gorgeous newcomer’s affection towards him.

Hell is an aptly named firecracker. He may look like an innocent and delicious angel but no doubt behind the exterior lays an intelligent, devilish, confident and aggressive man. He already knows going into the band that he wants Brent and sets about having him with a single-minded focus. Hell’s easy going manner hides his intensity which shines through in scenes where his formidable temper gets a hold of him. As a thoroughly complex and complicated character, Hell may not always be the easiest to love but he is certainly worth the work. Not to mention there is considerable work on his end convincing the disbelieving Brent that he’s not only worthy of love but has someone who loves him truly, madly, and deeply right in front of him.

Their relationship proceeds rocky at first with Brent not willing to give in to his feelings for Hell for quite a while, but slowly familiarity leads Hell to aggressively approach Brent and start their relationship which should only be scratching an itch for both of them. However in very little time, emotions on both sides are beyond just sex and convincing Brent to take a chance is a moving and often poignant journey. The supporting cast of characters, especially Luc, creates a wonderful backdrop to Brent and Hell’s drama while subtly advancing established relationships. The repeating themes of the benefits and drawbacks of rock band stardom are interwoven in a very realistic and genuine portrayal. While all the men subtly long for lasting relationships, they all appreciate to one extant or another, the availability of anonymous, easy sex and the richness of their star studded lives.

The charming cast of characters and appealing story combined with a quick moving story makes this an easy and thoroughly enjoyable read. The only caveat I found was that there were numerous obvious editing mistakes, they didn’t detract from the enjoyment of the story but towards the end of the book, I found myself annoyed by the repeated mistakes. However, don’t let this stop you from picking up the series and this book in particular. Brent and Hell are fabulous characters who will charm their way early into your heart and leave you rooting for their so richly deserved happy ever after.

One final note, even though I’ve commented on the lovely PL Nunn covers in the series I can’t help but continue to applaud the truly wonderful artwork. Not only gorgeous in its own right but so fitting and appropriate it lends itself to the story beautifully.

For a book that started off so well with the I was ready to like this book. JM does such a good job of keeping the characters consistent from book to book and making the series move forward that I was sure that I would like Brent's story. Then we get introduced to Hell and the book goes down from there. I don't think I ever appreciated his costumes or his attitude. It just felt so unprofessional. I don't think there is anything more natural than coworkers getting intimate. You spend 16 hours a day with someone and something sexual is bound to happen. Given Brent and Hell's interest in musicianship...something was bound to develop. The problem is they never seem to be friends. The go from coworkers to not-really-friends-with-benefits and you never get the feeling that they really like each other. Is there any question why the inevitable explosion occurs. Which brings us the next problem that I have with this book. Hell's lack of decency. I believe in the importance of courtesy and respect in books. I'm unable to excuse characters from unprovoked rude behavior under the guise of them being "feisty" or an "imp" or a "passionate nature." When you are a jerk...YOU ARE A JERK!! I was done with him. He was one step away from breaking up the band and I just couldn't forgive his behavior as just him being impish or that Brent's unwillingness to share his feelings had provoked it. I will probably finish out the series but wouldn't certainly suggest skipping this book and moving to the next. I think there's enough continuity in the series that you could pick up the next book and keep going.

This was perhaps my second favorite Heaven Sent book. The character of Brent really had a lot to deal with and I love
reading about that. Hell was a great addition to Heaven Sent and to what Brent was about. I liked the fact that Heller Witting was German. You don't see a lot of German characters in romances [at least I don't:]. The descriptive of puple hair and
violet eyes kept throwing me off but it was something new and different. Unexpected.

What I was expecting [the inevitable romance break-up to make-up:] really struck me hard. I nearly was in tears. The relationship was slowly built up before any sex took place. It's amazing how connected you become to a character when that happens. The infatuation on Hell's part was so adorable. Brent's subsequent denial/depression was well written and accurate. It was not just a few words and then they were back together. It was really believeable that Brent was suffering.

Brent is very shy. To the point of being panicked at the sight of large crowds of fans. Hiding behind his shades helps a bit.
Heller "Hell" Witting is a force of nature. Almost feminine with his diminuative features and small stature.

Jet has not disappointed me with this series. The tone changes with every book. I don't know what to expect when the focus is
on one particular character. They all are unique and overall are edible enough to read over and over again.

Brent Rose is the guitarist for Heaven Sent. He is used to living in the shadow of... well everyone. He is used to being the substitute for for what everyone else wants. Heller (Hell) Witting is a keyboard player and Heaven Sent decides to add him to the line up of the group to bring new life to their sound. Hell has eyes for Brent, but Brent can't believe it because no one notices him. Not to mention getting involved could cause trouble for the band.

I liked this book. I like that Heller is the exact opposite of how he looks. People look at him and make assumptions and he is pretty much the opposite. He is the aggressor and the dominant personality in the relationship. Not to mention he seems to have a thing with purple which just make me love him more. And Brent.. he was so heartbreaking and lovely that he draws you in.

I'm noticing that there is always one very pushy rocker but at least they have gotten better since the first one.

As always I know I can depend on Jet Mykles to give me all the angst that I love so well and then some. Mix that with hot and sexy rock stars and what more could you ask for? This one was maddening! You just wanted to strangle Brent, and so did the other guys in Heaven Sent, trying to get Brent to admit to what was so obvious to everyone else. It was nice to get to see a little of the other guys here to, as their story doesn't stop when their books end. The little glimpses are nice. Hell was a sweetie and the sex between Brent and Hell was pretty damn hot ;0) Really sweet HEA considering what Brent endures to show Hell he loves him. Phobias are very real to those who suffer with them. Excellent addition to the series... Can't wait to read the next!

This is definitely my least favourite of this series so far. I didn't like Hell too much. He was really weird and such a drama queen. He was always kicking up a fuss and acting like a girl (yes, I am using my own gender as a derogatory term, but you know what I mean), except for when they were in bed. Then he would suddenly turn all macho, but the rest of the time he was a whiny little bitch.

Brent was totally my kind of guy. I love the ones that feel worthless and need to be shown love. But Hell kind of ruined it for me. I would have preferred seeing Brent with someone else.

Although I didn't like Hell's personality, or his apparent schizophrenia, I did kind of like his look (not the one on the cover, bleck). I think maybe I need to try some M/M with more effeminate characters.

This was my first m/m series way back in 2011, and I think at the time I just wasn't quite ready for the delight that is Hell.

I've enjoyed him more with every re-read, but this time through I just adored him. Enough that I'm upping my rating from its original 3 stars to 4.

Some Favorite Quotes:
Brent rolled his eyes. "Jesus, you're all twelve-year-old girls."
Darien giggled, just proving his point.

He tried the thought on, poked at it from a few different angles, and kept coming to the same conclusion.

Cute!
Now 5th star because a) I never really got how come Brent is bi. Or how he is now in a fully committed gay relationship. Would he be in a committed one with a woman if the woman 'liked him for him' and there was sexual chemistry? It made the romance kind of shaken for me.
Oh and b) What is with the stupid covers? These men don't even look metro! They look like women that had a boob reduction!

I really like Hell(ion) :) I'm so glad he joined the group because he is just so right for Brent. And so unexpected that he would be the top in that relationship. But definitely a nice change from the big guys always being the one in charge.

I thought for sure Brent was going to lose Hell. Who knew Hell was so jealous :) But all's well that ends well. Another great read in the series.

What to say...I didn't reeeally like this story. It was too superficial for me. There wasn't really a depth in the story and I missed that. The only thing I liked about the story was Brent as a character. I just love it when characters have low self-esteem and not just have to assume that all are hot stuff. But then again, this aspect could've been explored more.

Meh, with some meh on top. It was okay, but kind of boring at times. I am thinking I didn't really GET the chemistry between the two because the characters weren't developed. Oh, well...there are more books in the series....

SO much better than the first two books in the series. I liked both of the MC's and the story felt more realistic. These two were pretty hot together too which never hurts.
