As a mountaineering groupie, I followed Loeffler's expedition blog along with that of Pat Hickey, a faculty member at South Carolina. This is her first person account of an "unsuccessful" climb cut short by illness. The human/psychological aspect is especially interesting, as years of training come to play in a major climb.
