This essay discusses the conflict and division that occurs between a political regime’s control and agenda with the basic needs, (like water, food, and electricity) of the population.
The author discusses the present situation in Iran under the political regime and how the controlling faction has left a wake of destruction within the country as it outsources resources to maintain external political alliances—particularly with countries within a close geographical proximity.
My take on the author’s assessment and discussion was how much is at stake within a country under political oppression when the ruling party focuses on the development and access to geographical political alliances for sole need of protecting the ruler regime.
